HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Happy Papa's Day to all those of you who are Dads!!

I am one of those few who have been truly blessed with an amazingly wonderful Dad. He's my biggest supporter and most devoted fan. He has probably seen pretty much every show and play reading I have done, as a professional, and the few he's missed were out of his control. He'll do anything for his girls (Mum and my sis and I) with nary a complaint. He's driven me, long distance, to many auditions, and once, when I was sick, drove me 9 plus hours after a show for a voice-over job in another State, and then back for my next performance. He's moved me from one city to another, cross-country, more than once. He's funny, gentle and kind and a truly selfless human being. He's my hero.

Another truly amazing Dad is Dick Hoyt. If you haven't heard about the Team Hoyt story, watch one of the following videos. It is truly inspiring! The first explains their story. The 2nd one is shorter and underscored with music. Incredibly heartwarming. The endless love this man has for his son!

Dick Hoyt is an awesome pick for Father's Day. The story is so inspirational and I bawled when I first saw the bottom video and posted it on my blog awhile ago. Watching it again today brings more tears. The sacrifices this dad has made for his son are unfathomable to me. Pretty inspirational and impressive.

Yeah they are the best Frasy and BCF.

And thanks PATJ, he truly is an incredibly special Dad (Hi Pops!). He's also my biggest blog fan. :-)

LMC, Strawb and Angel.. I was emailed the Hoyt video months and months ago, and it brought tears to my eyes. Couldn't remember their names though, so I googled and there they were. When i watched it again, more tears. So inspiring.

I have a little girl and when she was very young I taught her to answer the question “who are you?” with the answer “Daddy’s little girl”. She will always be that and raising a little girl is the most wonderful and difficult thing I will ever do. You sound blessed with a great dad.

I love the video. The first time I saw it it brought tears to my eyes. This is inspirational, the kind of inspiration we need often. Mr. Hoyt is a certified Hero in my book, a rare and missed entity these days.

That's so sweet Danny...and yes she will always be that. There's a great bond between dads and their daughters. And ours has just deepened the older we got.
I *am* truly blessed!!

The video still brings tears to my eyes.

Thanks for this. Whilst society must strive towards greater equality by the victims of male domination apart from lifting up women who were principle victims thereof, we must ensure that we as men become apprecaitive, contributory and valued members of society. Much at the moment shows that men are using the plot, ending up in unemploymenmt with low self esteems and loss of roles.
Therefore, the story you so kindly exposed us to here, is a superb representation of what we men can do. Let us discover and safe ourselves from our former perscribed ways. Daniel

Hello Daniel, I think it's important for all of us to go the extra mile, so to speak, in helping others... not just our families. But it does start there. And patriarchal societies can be repressive... but how does one change that mind set?!
