Fisher Price Dolls Whisper "Islam Is The Light"

Some idiot at Fisher-Price was having fun when they programmed "Islam Is The Light" and "Satan Is King" into the 'Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle and Coo' dolls. Outraged parents in Oklahoma and Pennsylvania have balked, and the dolls have been pulled from local Target and Walmart stores, though.

Oh!!!!! It does sound like the doll is saying 'Islam Is The Light', What do you think would happend if the doll said 'Jesus Is The Light'?

I don't have a problem with this if the manufacturer could maintain some consistency in their thematic approach to marketing.

What I mean is this: If the doll is wrapped in a pretend explosive vest, and when the little tot pulls the string causing the doll to whisper "Islam is the light," the doll (pre-packed with four pounds of composite) disintegrates everything in a 100 meter radius.

Naturally, there should be a consumer safety warning on the outside label for parents who can even read.

Well, as usual, Mustang said it better than me. I'll leave it there.

I think about all the people this must have gone through in order for this to happen: product concept, product design, recording (or programming) the voice, quality control, etc.

Regardless of what the messages support, they should be transparent in their packaging. If they want to sell dolls that say good things about Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc. that is fine if they label the toy as such.

To market it without disclosure of what the doll is saying, leaves a very distinct impression that they are trying to slip something past people.

MADHATTER: Apparently they had ones saying Satan is King o some such thing. You can rest assured that if it had been anything Christian that the atheists and Muslims would have balked.

MUSTANG: Love it!! :-)

KAREN: Indeed.

AIS: I agree... they can put what they want, but not as a subliminal message. Not sure how that got past quality control.

FRASYPOO: I would too. But I think enough people did.

WOMAN: Sadly, yes, I can.

PATJ: Sounds like it, Peej!

Re: the babbling doll controversy:

When I was young and first learning in middle school of the Salem Witch Trials, I often thought to myself “what gibbering fools the Puritans must have been to succumb to such ridiculous hysteria” and later, in high school, similarly wondered in horrible disbelief at a population that so readily subscribed to the Nazi ideal, a belief system that eventually lead to one of the most terrible chapters in modern history. I believe now that we know what sorts of people these were. Many of them call themselves Social Conservatives, and Christians, and Americans. They live next door to you. Their children sit next to yours and mine in school. But their defining purpose, unlike we who can accept and even celebrate the differences of our neighbors, is to propagate fear and animosity and prejudice of anyone even vaguely unlike themselves. They commit this tragic disservice in the name of their god or draped in the flag of their country, and it both saddens and confuses me that such individuals and I could be of the same species. I am embarrassed by it and them as an American, and angered by it as a human being. Control yourselves. Be adults for once in your sad misguided lives. Attempt some basic form of humanity. I don’t think it’s really that much to ask.

ANON-JOHN M: Thanks for stopping by. And look what happened to the Jews etc. when they were too willing to believe that the Nazis had no ill intent in this world.
If you don't think that the goal of radical islam is a 3rd jihad and islamization of the world, you're going to wind up like the Jews in Nazi Germany. Do your research.
I lived all over the world until college. I embrace diversity. I believe people should be able to worship as they please.. but NOT when they have no tolerance for my beliefs, and that is what radical islam is.
Wake up! Dig your head out of the sand.
