Squelching Free Speech: Pissy Perez Hilton VS Miss California (Carrie Prejean)

Since when do we, as Americans, not have the right to voice an opinion? As much as gays have the right to state they should be able to marry, those who oppose the idea have as much right to disagree. This whole issue was thrown into the spotlight by one vicious, nasty little guy called Perez Hilton, who had the gall to ask beauty contestant Miss California, Carrie Prejean, what her beliefs were regarding gay marriage. First of all, what kind of baiting question is that? Second of all, she's entitled to her opinion, whether you agree or not, because this is a free country! Just because someone might not agree with gay marriage, and there are plenty of gay people who don't, does NOT mean one is anti-gay. She probably lost the title because of her answer.

Perez also took it upon himself to try and destroy a Florida photographer who emailed chastising him for the Miss California fiasco, by posting the email on his blog- address, phone number etc. Granted, the photographer's choice of words was very distasteful, but Perez had no right to publish that information.

His website got overloaded and crashed. And his email inbox filled up with hate mail. Someone wanted to burn his home. Someone else wrote about killing him and his family.

So, while people get bent out of shape because there are those who believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, where is the outcry regarding stories regarding the torture and murder of gays in the Middle East? There was a recent story about gay men in Iraq having their anuses glued shut, then being force-fed a liquid that causes diarrhea, which leads to eventual death. Shouldn't they be blogging about that?

Perez Hilton, and the like, are truly pathetic for their spitefulness and lack of priorities!

The Haters Versus Patriots

Thought this was great, from Zack over at Diversity Lane. Sad, that in this great country of ours, there are people who still find so many things to hate about this land. Nothing is good enough. And yes, we have much to fix, but at least we have the options to right what is wrong, fix what is broken.

God Bless this country!

Tax Day Tea Party, April 15 2009!

I headed over to City Hall around 4:30 to meet some dear friends in from Los Angeles. Both Canadians, L became an American citizen a while back, but both L and P are more patriotic than some born and bred Americans I know. After coordinating at a parking lot, the 3 of us headed over to the main street where there were already hundreds gathered on either side of the main drag. Hard to estimate how many were gathered, but it seemed as if there were more than 1,000 spread along the staging area. Peaceful but enthusiastic, the crowd held a variety of signs and there were people from all ages and all walks of life. It was very heartening to see so many people out there protesting the excesses of government.

Many people tend to think that this was a partisan, conservative movement, but I know there were democrats and independents and republicans out there, sharing the sidewalk.

The TEA Party (taxed enough already) was created in response to a Congress and President who:

  • vote for a $500 billion tax bill without even reading it?
  • are spending trillions of borrowed dollars, leaving a debt our great-grandchildren will be paying?
  • consistently give special interest groups billions of dollars in earmarks to help get themselves re-elected?
  • want to take your wealth and redistribute it to others?
  • punish those who practice responsible financial behavior and reward those who do not?
  • admit to using the financial hurt of millions as an opportunity to push their political agenda?
  • run up trillions of dollars of debt and then sell that debt to countries such as China?
  • want government controlled health care?
  • want to take away the right to vote with a secret ballot in union elections?
  • refuse to stop the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into our country?
  • appoint a defender of child pornography to the Number 2 position in the Justice Department?
  • want to force doctors and other medical workers to perform abortions against their will?
  • want to impose a carbon tax on your electricity, gas and home heating fuels?
  • want to reduce your tax detectability for charitable gifts?
  • take money from your family budget to pay for their federal budget?

For more information here is the official Tea Party Day website. Hope you were able to participate at one in your state.

Department of Homeland Security was there.

Alleged Child Killer Nour Hadid's Husband Offended By Photo Of Hijab-Less Wife

It always amazes me how certain criminals, in all their breathtaking audacity, somehow think that they should get preferential treatment if they happen to have religious or dietary restrictions. If you want to live your life as you choose, then don't commit a crime!!

Nour Hadid, apparently beat to death Bhia Hadid, her 2-year-old niece. Over a period of 4 days!

"The child had 55 separate bruises and was beaten "from head to toe," according to prosecutors, who say Hadid confessed."

Though the woman confessed, hubby Alaeddin Hadid claims she's innocent and is mad as hell, because police took the booking photo of his wife sans hijab (head scarf), because, yes they happen to be Muslim. Alaeddin has threatened to sue because it happens to be an "insult against our religion. We do not do this in our culture," stating the Orland (Illinois) police are "really going to be in big trouble".

Oh, really? Being deprived of wearing her hijab is against their religion but beating an innocent child to death is not? His concern over his wife's modesty rather than the fact that she used his niece Bhia as a punching bag, is truly sickening. And what was his involvement, one has to wonder? Then again, they do tend to stone people to death, in the name of honor, so perhaps modesty is more important than the sanctity of life.

As for the police photographing her in her tank top, perhaps she should have been wearing a turtle neck under that hijab. And the police were just doing their job. A matron was present during the whole procedure, and the hijab was returned to Nour after the mug shots were taken, although it was then taken back after she threatened suicide. Lots of material is not a good thing with someone who is suicidal.

And why should Nour be treated differently from any other criminal?! Perhaps she should have thought twice about beating a defenseless little girl to death. She's nothing more than a child killer and should be treated as such!

The Al-Taqiyya Of Palestinian Lies- Fatah Refuses To Recognize Israel

I've always believed that it's bad karma to lie, and that fibbing does more harm than good. Besides, in the end, the Truth will always be revealed, so why bother lying in the first place. But Islam actually embraces and encourages dissimulation or what is called "al-Taqiyya"

"Concealing or disguising one's beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury."
In other words, it's okay to lie to achieve your goals. So, it's not surprising, when you see certain Muslim clerics and government leaders talking about peace and moderation to one group of people (i.e. the Western world), and then the opposite to another group (the Arab world). Take Fatah, the supposed moderate faction of the Palestinian people. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority and Chairman of Fatah, said a while back that a Unity government with Hamas would be predicated upon the recognition of Israel, which Hamas continues to refuse to do. Which, one would assume, means Fatah is willing to recognize Israel, but this is not the case. In a recent television interview, senior Fatah leader, Muhammad Dahlan revealed that Fatah too, will never recognize Israel, and they don't expect Hamas to, either.

"I want to say for the thousandth time, in my own name and in the name of all of my fellow members of the Fatah movement: We do not demand that the Hamas movement recognize Israel. On the contrary, we demand of the Hamas movement not to recognize Israel, because the Fatah movement does not recognize Israel even today."
He went on to admit that although Fatah and Hamas both refuse to recognize Israel, The Palestinian Authority will, but only to legitimize their position in the eyes of the western world in order to receive much needed aid. Under this blatant deception, Hillary Clinton and the U.S. have pledged 900 million dollars, that we don't have, to a people who will simply take the money and run, and continue battering Israel with rockets. The international community having pledged a total of 4.5 billion in relief, once again, has been duped by al-taqiyya.
