Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Blasts Both Sides On The Donald Sterling 'Racism Scandal'

Most people are appalled at L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling's racist remarks, and rightfully so. I had thought we were well over that dark part of our past, but obviously not. Interesting to note, for all you who think that only conservatives are racist, Sterling is a Democrat, and filthy rich.

The whole incident has people on both sides of the camp weighing in. Though most are outraged, some believe banning him for life from the NBA is hypocrisy while others are thrilled he's been ousted. But former basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar blasts both sides in an excellent op-ed for Time:

Moral outrage is exhausting. And dangerous. The whole country has gotten a severe case of carpal tunnel syndrome from the newest popular sport of Extreme Finger Wagging. Not to mention the neck strain from Olympic tryouts for Morally Superior Head Shaking. All over the latest in a long line of rich white celebrities to come out of the racist closet. (Was it only a couple days ago that Cliven Bundy said blacks would be better off picking cotton as slaves? And only last June Paula Deen admitted using the “N” word?)

Yes, I’m angry, too, but not just about the sins of Donald Sterling. I’ve got a list. But let’s start with Sterling. I used to work for him, back in 2000 when I coached for the Clippers for three months. He was congenial, even inviting me to his daughter’s wedding. Nothing happened or was said to indicate he suffered from IPMS (Irritable Plantation Master Syndrome). Since then, a lot has been revealed about Sterling’s business practices:

2006: U.S. Dept. of Justice sued Sterling for housing discrimination. Allegedly, he said, “Black tenants smell and attract vermin.”
2009: He reportedly paid $2.73 million in a Justice Dept. suit alleging he discriminated against blacks, Hispanics, and families with children in his rentals. (He also had to pay an additional nearly $5 million in attorneys fees and costs due to his counsel’s “sometimes outrageous conduct.”)
2009: Clippers executive (and one of the greatest NBA players in history) sued for employment discrimination based on age and race.

And now the poor guy’s girlfriend (undoubtedly ex-girlfriend now) is on tape cajoling him into revealing his racism. Man, what a winding road she led him down to get all of that out. She was like a sexy nanny playing “pin the fried chicken on the Sambo.” She blindfolded him and spun him around until he was just blathering all sorts of incoherent racist sound bites that had the news media peeing themselves with glee.

They caught big game on a slow news day, so they put his head on a pike, dubbed him Lord of the Flies, and danced around him whooping.

I don’t blame them. I’m doing some whooping right now. Racists deserve to be paraded around the modern town square of the television screen so that the rest of us who believe in the American ideals of equality can be reminded that racism is still a disease that we haven’t yet licked.

What bothers me about this whole Donald Sterling affair isn’t just his racism. I’m bothered that everyone acts as if it’s a huge surprise. Now there’s all this dramatic and very public rending of clothing about whether they should keep their expensive Clippers season tickets. Really? All this other stuff I listed above has been going on for years and this ridiculous conversation with his girlfriend is what puts you over the edge? That’s the smoking gun?

He was discriminating against black and Hispanic families for years, preventing them from getting housing. It was public record. We did nothing. Suddenly he says he doesn’t want his girlfriend posing with Magic Johnson on Instagram and we bring out the torches and rope. Shouldn’t we have all called for his resignation back then?

Shouldn’t we be equally angered by the fact that his private, intimate conversation was taped and then leaked to the media? Didn’t we just call to task the NSA for intruding into American citizen’s privacy in such an un-American way? Although the impact is similar to Mitt Romney’s comments that were secretly taped, the difference is that Romney was giving a public speech. The making and release of this tape is so sleazy that just listening to it makes me feel like an accomplice to the crime. We didn’t steal the cake but we’re all gorging ourselves on it.

Make no mistake: Donald Sterling is the villain of this story. But he’s just a handmaiden to the bigger evil. In our quest for social justice, we shouldn’t lose sight that racism is the true enemy. He’s just another jerk with more money than brains.

So, if we’re all going to be outraged, let’s be outraged that we weren’t more outraged when his racism was first evident. Let’s be outraged that private conversations between people in an intimate relationship are recorded and publicly played. Let’s be outraged that whoever did the betraying will probably get a book deal, a sitcom, trade recipes with Hoda and Kathie Lee, and soon appear on Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars.

The rest here.

He's absolutely right.

John Kerry Warns Of Israeli Apartheid State

John Kerry, the man who wanted the presidency in 2004 and is currently our secretary of state, told world leaders at a Trilateral Commission meeting that Israel could become an "apartheid state" (just like South Africa in the past) if they don't go for a two state solution.

“A two-state solution will be clearly underscored as the only real alternative. Because a unitary state winds up either being an apartheid state with second-class citizens—or it ends up being a state that destroys the capacity of Israel to be a Jewish state.”
Apartheid state, John?  Of course many feel Israel already is, but tell that to Arab/Israeli politicians, or the black Ethiopian Miss Israel 2013.

The rest on the Daily Beast.

If there's no peace in Israel it's because the Palestinians don't want it.

The Dwindling Jews and Christians In Muslim Countries

Jews used to coexist with Muslims in Yemen in past centuries.  But rabid anti-Semitism in this century has forced most of what was a thriving community to leave the country. Amran province boasted of being home to one of the largest Jewish communities in Yemen- only three families remain, and even they are considering emigrating, albeit reluctantly so. These are people who were born and raised there, and would rather remain. And then Arab Muslims bitch about Israel (one of the few places that will take those Jews) even though they are instrumental in forcing Jews and Christians out of their Muslim majority lands.

The Christians are having just as hard a time in Muslim countries. Iraq's Chaldean church leader, Patriarch Louis Sako, fears for the Christians in that country and worries about the dwindling numbers. He predicts that in a mere 10 years only a few thousand will remain.

Iraq's Christian community is a shadow of what it used to be -- once numbering more than a million nationwide, with upwards of 600,000 in Baghdad alone, there are now fewer than 400,000 across the country.

"The daily migration of Christians from Iraq is terrifying and very worrying," Sako told AFP from the ethnically-mixed northern city of Kirkuk on Friday evening.

"The church is facing a disaster, and if the situation continues along this course, our numbers in the coming 10 years will be not more than a few thousand."

Sako blamed worsening security and religious extremism, and cited death threats against Christians and the forcible seizure of their property by armed gangs purporting to be members of powerful militias.

He also blames  "Western countries who encourage migration of Christians."

But what other options do they have. Should they remain in countries that persecute and kill them? I think not.

I think the Muslims over there would be very happy to see no minority religious groups left in their lands.

N Korea Arrests 24-Year-Old American Who Wants Asylum

Who knows what the real story is, but North Korean officials claim they have arrested 24-year-old American Miller Matthew Todd (more likely Todd Matthew Miller or Matthew Todd Miller) for "a gross violation of its legal order." What did the lad do to land him in jail, you might ask? Ripped his tourist visa to shreds and shouted he had traveled to the DPRK seeking asylum "after choosing it as a shelter." That, to me, sounds like one of the myriad of fools who revere Kim Jong-un, and view North Korea as a shining example of a perfect utopia. And one would think that the North Korean government would be delighted that some western, American stooge would choose that hellhole of a country to call home.

State news agency KCNA stated:

"A relevant organ of the DPRK put in custody American Miller Matthew Todd, 24, on April 10 for his rash behavior in the course of going through formalities for entry into the DPRK to tour it."

Here's another official announcement regarding Miller's arrest.

According to NK News:

"Miller Matthew Todd’s action has hit the nerve of North Korean immigration officers because the DPRK considers entry visas its property and does not tolerate disrespectful attitude to it."

Of course, the news "broke" (well after he was actually detained) while Barack Obama was down in South Korea meeting with his counterpart Park Geun-hye. Kim Jong-un is probably just jealous that Obama has refused to be his buddy. And speaking of the visit, the DPRK has condemned Obama for traveling there while the South Korean's are still mourning the tragic ferry boat drownings.

I wonder how Miller feels about the DPRK now. Keep him, please.

Pro-Palestinian NYU Group Slips Fake Eviction Notices Under Dorm Room Doors

A pro-Palestinian New York University organization took their fight to the New York University dorms.  Around 2000 undergrad students found fake "eviction notices" under their dorm room doors with the following notice:

"We regret to inform you that your suite is scheduled for demolition in three days."
"If you do not vacate the premise by midnight on 25 April, 2014, we reserve the right to destroy all remaining belongings. Charges for demolition will be applied to your student accounts."

Although Students for Justice in Palestine placed "This is not a real eviction notice" at the bottom of the flyer, and they were slipped into dorm rooms of both Jews and non Jews alike, it had the Jewish students particularly fearful.

"It's an attack on the Jewish community," said sophomore Laura Adkins, 19, a pro-Israel activist. "It's specifically targeting Jewish students, which makes them feel not so safe."
[snip]
"People are fearful," she said. "Parents of prospective students have called me asking, 'Is my student safe going to NYU?' "

Not a peep from the Council on American-Islamic Relations.  You know there would be hell to pay if someone had slipped a flyer about Muslim terrorism under the doors of the NYU grads.

More here.

However, this isn't the first time pro-Pali student groups have done this.  They pulled a similar stunt at Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, Florida a few years back.

The PC Lot Balk At References To Islam In 9/11 Museum Film

The National September 11 Memorial Museum in New York is set to open on May 21, and as part of the experience there will be a short film regarding what led up to the attack.

The film, “The Rise of Al Qaeda,” refers to the terrorists as Islamists who viewed their mission as a jihad. The NBC News anchor Brian Williams, who narrates the film, speaks over images of terrorist training camps and Qaeda attacks spanning decades. Interspersed are explanations of the ideology of the terrorists, from video clips in foreign-accented English translations.
The documentary is not even seven minutes long, the exhibit just a small part of the museum.
Even though it's quite obvious who was responsible for the abomination that occurred on 9/11- not Christian or Hindu or Buddhist extremists but Muslim extremists- people are balking at how the film broaches the subject of Islam.

The museum has refused to back down after various panel groups, including some interfaith clergy, recommended making changes to the film. The one Muslim imam involved resigned back in March.
“The screening of this film in its present state would greatly offend our local Muslim believers as well as any foreign Muslim visitor to the museum,” Sheikh Mostafa Elazabawy, the imam of Masjid Manhattan, wrote in a letter to the museum’s director. “Unsophisticated visitors who do not understand the difference between Al Qaeda and Muslims may come away with a prejudiced view of Islam, leading to antagonism and even confrontation toward Muslim believers near the site.”

According to Joseph C. Daniels of the museum:

“From the very beginning, we had a very heavy responsibility to be true to the facts, to be objective, and in no way smear an entire religion when we are talking about a terrorist group."
What people are taking offense to, apparently, is the use of "Islamist" and "Jihad".  Critics want the film to refer to it as "al-Qaeda-inspired terrorism," not Islamic terrorism. Akbar Ahmed, chair of Islamic Studies at American University in Washington explains why

“The terrorists need to be condemned and remembered for what they did." “But when you associate their religion with what they did, then you are automatically including, by association, one and a half billion people who had nothing to do with these actions and who ultimately the U.S. would not want to unnecessarily alienate.”
More on the story here.

The majority of violence around the world is being perpetrated by Muslims. Yes, extremists, but Muslims nonetheless. You can't pussyfoot around that, and you can't whitewash the facts. It's the truth. I think most intelligent people realize that mostly radical extremists are responsible for the bloodshed, but there are a heck of a lot of them around these days.

Japanese "Birther" MP Claims Obamas' Headed For Divorce Over His Cheating and Michelle's Spending

Who knew there were foreigners who have bought into the whole Barack Obama "birther" issue. Kazuyuki Hamada, a Japanese MP, has. He even wrote a book about it in 2009 titled "Who is Obama?" He's also very pissed off that Michelle stayed home instead of accompanying her husband on his trip to Japan, so he lashed out by claiming Obama has been cheating on her, and as a result of Michelle's outrageous travel spending and Obama's infidelity, they're headed for a post-term divorce. Apparently the National Enquirer is claiming the same thing.

Hamada who has a Phd from George Washington University in D.C. also wrote on his blog:
'His approval numbers are dragging down near 30 per cent."
'The president has been criticized for having no visions or leadership to solve domestic and diplomatic problems, some even ridiculing him as the worst president of the postwar era.'
Regarding Obama and Michelle's relationship, he writes:

'It is an open secret that the pair are already negotiating their divorce, and that they are waiting for his term in office to be over, and then they'll separate.'
He had stiff words for the impact of the first lady's multimillion-dollar 'goodwill' trips to far-flung places on the taxpayers' dime.
The Japanese pol claimed that 'if you ask the president, he will tell you, "I can't show my face to the voters after how she's spent so much money".'
'On the other hand,' Hamada added, 'if you get his wife to talk, she'll tell you: "The president is a pathological philanderer. He uses the Secret Service for this, and has used them to hide evidence that he's a cheater".'

But he's not just anti-Obama.  According to the Daily Mail, many of his books are decidedly anti-American.

It's all very doubtful, but rather amusing nonetheless.

More on the story plus pics, here.

Muslims Will "Take Over Your Whole Country" Claims British Ex-Boxer Anthony Small

Referring to the Trojan Horse plot to Islamize British public schools, ex-boxer-turned-radical Muslim Anthony Small, aka Abdul-Haqq, claims they don't want to just take over British schools, they want to take over "your whole country."

The dolt is part of Anjem Choudary's gang Al-Muhajiroun/Islam4UK.

Quran 9:33 "it is He who sent the religion of Islam in order for it to dominate over all other ways of life even if the kufar hate it"

Like Choudary, he's probably on the dole. But if the Brits aren't careful, those supremacist goals will likely come to fruition.

Hypocrisy Video Of the Day From CAIR- Slam AZ TV Host For Refusing Somali Cabbie

The Council on American-Islamic Relations' YouTube channel posted an audio recording of Arizona radio host Lisa Benson discussing "The Myth of Islamophobia" with some guests.

This is what CAIR titled the video: Islamophobia Watch: Arizona Radio Host Lisa Benson Requests Non-Somali Taxi Driver At Airport with the following blurb:

Right-wing radio host Lisa Benson interviewed Rabbi Jonathan Hausman and Jerry Gordon on April 20, 2014, about "The Myth of Islamophobia." During that interview, Benson admitted she requested a non-Somali taxi driver at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix. Neither guest questioned whether such a bigoted request was appropriate.
Benson's "Board of Advisors" includes notorious Islamophobes such as Nonie Darwish, Steven Emerson and John Guandolo.

Bigoted? She had no problems with being driven by what she thought was a Southern Sudanese driver. It turns out he was actually Northern Sudanese (Muslim), and as soon as she was sequestered in the back of his cab wound up telling her that he was going to drive her to the police and sue her for discrimination.

Benson is a Jewish woman who wears a Star of David, yes, she was worried about driving with a Somali Muslim. And she had every right to choose not to hire a Somali cabbie. After all, Somali cab drivers at the Minneapolis/St Paul International have refused service to passengers carrying alcohol or seeing-eye dogs.

Typical Muslim hypocrisy.

It's Good To Be Anti-Islam- Pat Condell's Latest Video

Pat Condell talks about being anti-Islam but not anti-Muslim.

"...many of the Muslims I've mean't in my life I've liked, as individuals, I just don't like anything about their religion, because there's nothing about it to like."

For people to respect this religion, it will need to evolve. Big time.

Stephen Lynch (D-MA)- The Worst Part Of Obamacare To "Hit The Fan"

Democratic Rep. Stephen Lynch from Massachusetts claims that the worst part of Obamacare is about to "hit the fan." Granted, he voted against it in 2010- the only one of his fellow Democrats to do so.

“There are parts of Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act, that were postponed because they are unpalatable." “As these provisions come into effect, the administration thus far is saying, ‘Gee, we really can’t handle this right now so we’re going to delay it.’”

“These obligations keep piling up." “Any individual with an individual healthcare plan that exceeds $10,200 is in a Cadillac plan situation. They’re going to have to pay — that employer, if they provide that, and many do today let alone in 2018 — will have to pay a 40 percent tax on the amount over the minimum established — excuse me, the maximum established under the Affordable Care Act.”

“That is a huge tax. It’s the first time in this country’s history that we have actually taxed health care." “We used to treat it like food, that people would die without it. Well, we’re in a new day now.”
[snip]
“We will lose seats in the House." [snip] “I am fairly certain of that based on the poll numbers that are coming out from the more experienced pollsters down there. And I think we may lose the Senate.”

Hopefully this is good news for the Republicans in mid-terms.

Homosexuals To Be Stoned To Death In Brunei

Brunei has just taken a giant step back into the dark ages. The death penalty, by stoning, will now be meted out for the following offenses:

Homosexuality, sodomy, adultery, extramarital relations for Muslims, blasphemy (defaming Mohammed), apostasy, along with rape, murder and robbery.

The United Nations Commission on Human Rights is "concerned."

"We are deeply concerned about the revised penal code in Brunei Darussalam, due to come into force later this month, which stipulates the death penalty for numerous offences," said Rupert Colville, spokesman for the UN high commissioner for human rights.
"Application of the death penalty for such a broad range of offences contravenes international law," Colville said.

Although no-one has been executed since 1957, the current sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, wants to institute harsh Islamic Shariah law as the law of the land, which allows for death by stoning. Homosexuality, which is illegal in the country, could get you 10 years in jail, that will change on April 22.

Source: Opposing Views.

It's all very interesting considering some of the Sultan's family members have a not so Islamically stellar reputation. Mansions, jets, harems full of prostitutes, jets and other excesses.

Great-Grandson of Scientology's L. Ron Hubbard Exposes Him As Fraud

This video is from a few years back, but people have been posting this on Facebook so I thought I'd share.

It's the great-grandson of Scientology's L. Ron Hubbard sharing just how his con-man of a  great granddad started Scientology.

Jamie changed his last name to DeWolf, for obvious reasons. This was part of NPR's Snap Judgement Performance of the Year.

Most Women Edited Out Of Halal Version Of "Happy British Muslims"

The Honesty Policy decided to put together a video to show just how happy British Muslims are. So they filmed a panoply of British Muslims- young, old, males, females with and without head covering- dancing to Pharrell Williams popular song Happy.

The response has been, as expected, both positive and negative. The usual suspects are condemning it for the usual reasons, including the use of adult females.

While its supporters applaud the diverse array of Muslims featured and simple, positive message of happiness, its detractors have an array of complaints that range from the depiction of co-ed dancing to the use of a pop song, Pharrell Williams' "Happy."

Mufti Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf believes those trying to show "happy" Muslims are the polar opposite of terrorist/extremists.

So, someone put together a halal version with all the females edited out. The few left in the video are kids. None of the unveiled women are featured.

But many Muslims are just as outraged by this new version.

The original video featured a variety of well-known British Muslims, with scholars like Cambridge University lecturer Sheik Abdul Hakim Murad and Radical Middleway scholar Fuad Nahdi, as well as hip-hop artist Tanya Muneera Williams and journalist and academic Myriam Cerrah.

Cerrah told The Huffington Post via email, "This new video reflects the persistent attempts by a small but vocal band of misogynistic muslims who believe women have no place in the public sphere, to literally erase women from history. Despite what they may think, they're the real embarrassment to our faith." She emphasized that The Honesty Policy has nothing to do with the censored video.

It's always something.

Rev Al Sharpton Compares Obama To Jesus Christ On Radio Show

Reverend Al Sharpton was on the Tom Joyner Show on 4/16/14 talking about Easter when he compared Barack Obama to Jesus Christ.

“The story of Jesus on the cross. No matter what they humiliated him with. No matter how they mocked him he took it, because he knew he could rise. And the story of Easter and my message for this Easter session is no matter what unearned suffering you go through, that if you know you can rise above it, don’t become like the diseases that you fight.”
“As I looked at President Obama at our convention last Friday where all he took he’s been able to rise politically again. I’m not comparing him to Jesus, but I am saying that to every crucifixion there is a resurrection for those that believe.”

Audio here.

Of course, this isn't the first time this has happened.  Actor Jamie Foxx called him "Our Lord and Savior" during the Soul Train Awards in 2012.

Stone-faced Pennsylvania Students At Obama Speech

Barack Obama won the last election thanks, in part, to clueless young college fools.  Watch any video back in those days with Obama speaking, and you'll see a smiling, drooling, ecstatic audience. That seems to have changed. Check out this video of Obama speaking at the Community College of Allegheny County, in Oakdale, Pennsylvania. 15 students were cherry-picked to stand behind Obama. But rather than responding excitedly to whatever Obama happens to say, all of them- save one- stands there, stone-faced, nary a reaction. Then again, this is the same college that has slashed work hours for adjunct professors, staff and part-time teachers because of Obamacare.

The video is edited, so feasibly they could have edited out any positive reactions, but it's doubtful. You can see zippo reaction in response to Obama's attempts at humour.

Man Who Beat Son To Death Over Grades Has 1 Year Jail Sentence Rejected By UAE Court

An Emirati man beat his 12-year-old son so severely with a cane and an electrical chord the child died. Apparently, papa was unhappy with the boy's school grades. The mother found the bloody, unconscious boy and drove him to the hospital, but the child was dead on arrival.

Under sharia law this is how the judicial process went down for the accused:

Parents can't be sentenced to death under sharia, so that was ruled out. Of course, the death sentence is perfectly fine for adulterers, blasphemers, apostates and homosexuals. But beating someone to death? 15 years max. However, this dad lucked out. The 'beating' charge  was changed to premeditated murder.

Now this is where it gets interesting. There's that 'blood money' clause under sharia law, whereby relatives can receive money and a reduced sentence as retribution.

As the boy’s heirs, the father’s parents, waived their rights to a death sentence, R M was sentenced to three years in jail and a blood money settlement of Dh200,000.

His sentence was later reduced by the appeals court to one year, as the boy’s mother also waived her right to blood money.

On Wednesday, the court of cassation ruled that the heirs should not have been consulted in this case.

The law states that a father cannot be charged with premeditated murder unless he confesses, which R M did not, or if it was a straightforward murder act.

In this case, as the tools he used to kill his son were not weapons, it proved it was an attack driven by anger and not planned.
[snip]
Also, the medical report showed there was not a fatal blow from the father, as the boy died from shock caused by the pain of the beating.
So that pre-meditated murder charge? Thrown out, along with the year sentence. So another hearing will be scheduled.

Gotta love sharia.

Princeton Research- The U.S. Is No Longer A Democracy

A Princeton  research study by Martin Gilens and Benjamin I. Page has found that the United States is no longer a democracy, but rather an oligarchy. How disturbing is that.

An oligarchy is a system where power is effectively wielded by a small number of individuals defined by their status called oligarchs. Members of the oligarchy are the rich, the well connected and the politically powerful, as well as particularly well placed individuals in institutions like banking and finance or the military.

For their study, Gilens and Page compiled data from roughly 1,800 different policy initiatives in the years between 1981 and 2002. They then compared those policy changes with the expressed opinion of the United State public. Comparing the preferences of the average American at the 50th percentile of income to what those Americans at the 90th percentile preferred, as well as the opinions of major lobbying or business groups, the researchers found out that the government followed the directives set forth by the latter two much more often.

It's beyond alarming. As Gilens and Page write, "the preferences of the average American appear to have only a minuscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy." In other words, their statistics say your opinion literally does not matter.

N.J. Professor Suspended Over "Threatening" Game Of Thrones T-Shirt Photo

Francis Schmidt, a professor at a community college in Bergen, New Jersey, was recently suspended soon after he posted a photo on Google+ that some (including a dean at the college) felt was a "veiled threat."  The art and animation professor posted a pic of his young daughter in a t-shirt with the tagline from the TV show Game of Thrones:

"I will take what is mine with fire and blood."
Why would people find anything threatening about the post? Apparently Schmidt had been denied a sabbatical and had filed a grievance with his union. The union itself is also having trouble with the administration regarding tenure and promotions.

After the post on Google+, Schmidt was immediately called in to meet with administrators.

At the meeting, Schmidt explained the shirt in the context of Game of Thrones and showed Miller that the "fire and blood" tagline has 4 million results on Google. The professor asked why his photo had caused such a reaction, and was told that "fire" could be a metaphor for "AK-47s."
Schmidt was placed on administrative leave without pay later that week, and told he would have to pass a psychiatric evaluation before he could return. He says he passed that same evaluation in 2007 after being diagnosed with depression.
Sounds pretty crazy to suspend someone for a photo of his child in a Game of Throne t-shirt?  Right? But Bergen Community College admin issued this statement:

"The referenced incident refers to a private personnel matter at Bergen Community College. Since January 1, 2014, 34 incidents of school shootings have occurred in the United States. In following its safety and security procedures, the college investigates all situations where a member of its community – students, faculty, staff or local residents – expresses a safety or security concern."

Almost every mass shooting incident has been the result of some mentally ill individual going off the deep end, and yes depression is a mental illness. Are people with depression dangerous, the majority are not, but some are. Was the college justified in suspending him out of fear?  Suspension certainly wouldn't prevent Schmidt from going postal, if that's what they feared. But they are obviously operating on a 'better safe than sorry' mode.

I'm not sure what I think.

UPDATE: Jews Must "Register" In Pro-Russian East Ukraine Or Face Deportation

If things aren't bad enough in the Ukraine, Jews are now being told by pro-Russian militants who have taken control of the government in Donetsk to "register" or get out.

Jews emerging from a synagogue say they were handed leaflets that ordered the city's Jews to provide a list of property they own and pay a registration fee "or else have their citizenship revoked, face deportation and see their assets confiscated," reported Ynet News, Israel's largest news website.

[snip]

The leaflets bore the name of Denis Pushilin, who identified himself as chairman of "Donetsk's temporary government," and were distributed near the Donetsk synagogue and other areas, according to the report.
Pushilin acknowledged that flyers were distributed under his organization's name in Donetsk, but denied any connection to them, Ynet reported in Hebrew.

Every Jew over the age of 16 will be required to register with the Commissioner for Nationalities.

They claim the reason for demanding Jews register is because of their support for Stepan Bandera, who led the fight for Ukrainian independence after WW II, and their current opposition to the pro-Russian militants in East Urkaine.

What about all the others who oppose a pro-Russian annexation? Why single out the Jews?

The Jews need to pay a $50.00 registration fee and  provide:

"ID and passport are required to register your Jewish religion, religious documents of family members, as well as documents establishing the rights to all real estate property that belongs to you, including vehicles."

No-one seems clear as to the origins of the leaflet- whether it originated from the pro-Russian camp or a "splinter group."

Any of this sound familiar? What next, yellow star patches?

More on the story here.

UPDATE 4/17- 5:18 pm:

There are some who believe this might be fake.  Of course, those happen to be people like Denis Pushilin, aka the “people’s governor" of Donetsk, whose signature was on the pamphlet, but who swears he was not involved, and blames it on provocateurs. Time will reveal who is really behind it. Point is it happened.  Doesn't matter who.

Taliban Marriage Counseling- Joke of the day

Taliban marriage counseling.

Islamization Of Birmingham Schools Trojan Horse Plot Expands To 25

There's an alleged plot by Muslim extremists to take over public schools in Birmingham, England, and even some Muslim parents are concerned.

The plot came to light after a document was anonymously sent to teaching unions and the Birmingham City Council that shared tactics on how to take over school leadership, and how the Islamists had already managed to do that at four of the targeted schools. Former staff and parents have been complaining about anti-Western teachings, segregation of boys and girls, and banning of sex education at many Birmingham schools.  Non-Muslim staff have also complained about being bullied.

So as a result of what is being called Operation Trojan Horse, the former head of the Metropolitan Police's anti-terror unit has been chosen to investigate the alleged plot to Islamize public schools. There are now 25 possibly targeted schools, up from 15. The P.C. folk have naturally balked at the appointment of Clarke, claiming it could send the wrong message to the Muslim community, but when an al-Qaeda-linked preacher is being praised during class, then those schools deserve to be investigated.

There have been at least 200 complaints since the plot to force out head teachers was made public.   Mind you, these are secular, public schools.

Police Drop Attempted Murder Charges Against Baby Musa In Pakistan

I missed the story about the Pakistani baby boy who was arrested and charged with attempted murder. The 9-month-old faced a jail sentence along with four adults after participating in a protest against the gas company that was disconnecting the service of poor folk in a Lahore slum after they had failed to pay their bill. Musa Khan was taken to the protest by his father and grandfather, it turned violent (no surprise there), stones were hurled at gas workers, and the 3 were arrested.

After global outrage, Pakistani authorities have dropped the charges against baby-Musa.

Critics say the charges reflected the tendency of the Pakistani police to lodge exaggerated complaints against poor families.

On Saturday, though, the police withdrew the charges against Musa, the baby’s lawyer, Irfan Tarar, told The Associated Press.

The case against the baby led to widespread ridicule being heaped against the Pakistani legal system, particularly after little Musa was photographed crying while being fingerprinted — and he then had to be comforted with a bottle of milk. His family subsequently moved him out of Lahore to Faisalabad, citing safety reasons.

Yep, for years Osama Bin Laden had safe-haven in Pakistan, the same goes for members of al-Qaeda, and a toddler is arrested because his dad and grandad allegedly threw stones during a protest.

Way to go Pakistan.

Danish Muslim Lab Techs Could Be Fired For Refusing To Wear Short Sleeves

Two female Muslim lab technicians at a hospital in Denmark are about to lose their jobs because they refuse to wear short sleeves- a dress-code requirement at the Hvidovre Hospital near Copenhagen. The dress-code is a measure the hospital has implemented for sanitary reasons.

According to the hospital Deputy Director, Torben Mogenson, this has been an ongoing issue since last fall:
"Short sleeves are part of the Capital Region's dress code. This is in the interest of our patients. You can not wash your hands with long sleeves. We do a lot for people with different ethnic backgrounds. But when it comes to hygiene we do not compromise the safety of the patients. We have fought for years to get doctors to use short sleeves."

This is the first case where someone could be fired because of their religious practices.

Both of the women are on sick leave, and one of them explained that she'd visited with several imams who told her that good Muslim women must always wear long sleeves at work. In other words, health of the patients be damned

I guess they don't have an equivalent of CAIR (Council on Islamic American Relations) over in Denmark, because you know if that happened here they'd be on the case in a flash, and those lab techs would be working with their long sleeves, happily compromising the health of patients and others.

Original story in Danish.

Microsoft Support Phone Scammer Mohammed Khalid Jamil Fined In The U.K.

I'm sure you have all received that call from some heavily accented individual claiming to be from Microsoft telling you they've detected some problem with your computer.  I've had a slew of them over the past few years.  The first one started during a time I was dealing with Dell overseas tech support and in my confusion let them take control of my laptop. Thankfully I stopped before any damage could be done, but I can see how some gullible person might just fall for the scam. They've now changed their story and don't claim to be from Microsoft, but it's the same old scam- something's wrong with my computer and they need to check it. I usually just tell them I know they're scammers and hang up. A few times I've told them I don't own a computer and they've hung. But the calls keep coming, and telling them to stop is futile. In fact, I received one yesterday.

So I was heartened to read that we're not the only country targeted for such scams and that some scammers have actually been caught. The U.K. finally nabbed one of those reprobates, but he's only facing a small fine and suspended jail sentence. Which means the scumbag will probably be at it again in no time.

Mohammed Khalid Jamil ran a gang that managed to turn over £1million a year by phoning people at home and convincing them that their computers had a virus which urgently needed tackling.

Despite using cold callers in India and operating out of Dubai “for tax reasons”, the crook was caught when experts in online crime followed the money trail to companies he’d set up in the UK.

Now the 34-year-old, who also lives in Luton, Beds, has been given a suspended jail sentence after being nailed by the National Trading Standards eCrime Team.

“This is a landmark case, as we believe it may be the first ever successful prosecution of someone involved in the Microsoft scam in the UK,” said Lord Toby Harris, chairman of the National Trading Standards Board.

“It’s an important turning point for UK consumers who have been plagued by this scam, or variants of it, for several years.

“Many have succumbed to it, parting with significant sums of money, their computers have been compromised and their personal details have been put at risk.

“Now that one of the many individuals who’ve been operating this scam has been brought to justice, it’s a stark warning to anyone else still doing it, that they can be caught and will be prosecuted.”
It won't be a deterrent, since Jamil continued his operation in spite of numerous warnings over the years. He just changed the name of his business. And what he will owe as restitution, the paltry sum of:

a fine of £5,000, costs of £13,929 and compensation of £5,665.

Jamil's gang - Smart Support Guys- would apparently call people and tell them that they had a nasty virus, remotely take control of the victim's computer, install free anti-virus software, and then charge them anywhere from £30 and £150.  But it's not just parting with your money for something you didn't need in the first place that's troubling, it's the fact that they can upload malicious software that can compromise your personal information.  When I finally figured out what was going on, my fear was that they had actually uploaded a virus. I immediately ran a series of different A.V. scans and thankfully it came up clean.

Other scammers have said they were from: Windows Helpdesk, Windows Service Center or Microsoft Support. I've had calls from all of them.

Unhappy North Koreans At A Photo Exhibit

This is what passes for a national photo exhibit in North Korea. Mostly photos of Kim Jong-un. But look at the faces of the people attending. They look as if they're at a funeral or about to be executed.

Video: Kim Il-sung's 3 Hour Opera "The Sea of Blood"

If you want to waste almost 3 hours (I didn't), you can watch "Sea of Blood" - a revolutionary opera written by none other than Kim Il-sung, president-for-life of North Korea, that is until he croaked, and grandpappy of  Kim Jong-un.

From Wikipedia:

Sea of Blood (Korean: 피바다) is a revolutionary novel, film, and opera created in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) about the mass killings during the long period of the Japanese occupation of Korea.[2] The performance is considered as one of the "Five Great Revolutionary Operas" (Korean: 5대 혁명가극), a group of classical, revolution-themed opera repertoires well received within North Korea.

At Pyongyang's main theatre, the operatic version of The Sea of Blood is the only show in town and plays three to four times a week. Sea of Blood is also North Korea's longest-running production being staged 1,500 times.[3]

It is also a novel and a three-hour black-and-white film rumored to have been directed in part by Kim Jong Il, the son of Kim Il Sung, in the early 1970s, and produced by Korea Films.
Watch the whole thing on YouTube. I could only manage a few minutes, but it's more along the lines of a musical.

Muslim Parent Complains About Islamization Of U.K. Public Schools

State schools in the U.K. are being Islamized by hardline Muslims. Some Muslim parents are not happy about this turn of events, and one has finally spoken out about the situation at Oldknow Academy in Birmingham.  Thanks to the current principal

Children at one of the state schools taken over by hardline Muslims are being “programmed” and have been “drilled” by their teachers to lie to Ofsted inspectors investigating the plot, according to a parent.

Mohammed Zabar, the father of a 10-year-old girl attending Oldknow Academy in Birmingham, today becomes the first person to speak openly about events at his daughter’s school.

Mr Zabar, 44, decided to break his silence after The Sunday Telegraph described how teachers at the supposedly secular school led children in anti-Christian chanting, stopped them from celebrating Christmas, organised subsidised trips to Mecca and required all pupils to learn Arabic.

The successful non-Muslim head, Bhupinder Kondal, who achieved an Ofsted rating of “outstanding”, has been driven from her post. Four of the six-strong management team have left in the past six months.

“Everything I read in your articles is true,” he said. “The last three or four months have been really difficult. My daughter’s education has been at the back of my mind the whole time.

“It is important for Muslim parents to say that what is happening is wrong, and to stand up against it. The culture I’ve been brought up with is that you mix with all races and communities and this will drive wedges between different communities.”

Mr Zabar spoke out as a former teacher at another school in the city targeted, Park View, told The Sunday Telegraph that he repeatedly witnessed the man who is now effectively Park View’s head giving “mind-blowing” anti-Western assemblies to pupils at the school.

Muslim Group Allowed To Cut Off Crosses From NY Church

A Muslim group purchased a century-old Catholic church in Syracuse, NY and are converting it into a mosque/learning center.  What has some people upset is the decision to remove 6 crosses from the roof of the historic Gothic church. Now I understand why Muslims wouldn't want crosses on their mosque, but not for the reason given by the center's director, Yusuf Soule.  He claims that Islam forbids the worship of symbols and idols, hence the need for removal; as if the Muslim congregants would be actually worshiping a cross.  But if this is the case, then why is it okay to have a crescent moon perched on top of the spires of most mosques?  Is that not a symbol?

A city board on Thursday gave a Muslim group the go-ahead to remove six crosses from the roof and spires of a century-old former Catholic church so the now-vacant Gothic structure can be used as a mosque.

More than 200 people had signed an online petition calling on the Syracuse Landmark Preservation Board to deny an application by North Side Learning Center, the church's new owner, to remove the crosses and build a six-foot chain-link fence.

Before the vote to allow the church alterations, Chairman Don Radke said the board cannot interfere with a decision that involves religious freedom.
More on the story here.

Couldn't they have found another building for their mosque, rather than defacing a landmark Christian structure?

I wonder how Muslims would react to a Christian group removing the crescent moon from atop one of their mosques.

UK Muslim Helpline Reaches Out To Jews and Gays In Bid For Mutual Tolerance

This is interesting.  The founder of a British anti-Islamophobia hotline has enlisted the help of a gay activist and a Jew to battle intolerance.

The Tell MAMA (Measuring Anti-Muslim Attacks) helpline, whose aim is to help victims and measure the level of anti-Muslim attacks in Britain, has invited the famous gay activist Peter Tatchell to become its patron, the Sunday Express reported.

The daily also revealed that Tell MAMA’s founder, Fiyaz Mughal, will make yet another controversial announcement next week when he officially recruits Richard Benson, a former president of the Community Security Trust (CST), a Jewish organization that battles anti-Semitism, to be the group’s joint chairman.

Mughal, who started the group in 2012, said that by linking up with key figures from these two communities, a message of tolerance will be proliferated.

“We’re clear. If you are homophobic or anti-Semitic, you can’t campaign against anti-Muslim prejudice,” he told the Sunday Express.

He added: “The two things just do not go together. If you’re an intolerant figure against someone else, you can’t then cry wolf when something happens to you... We’ll stand against intolerance in all communities.”

Mughal seems sincere, and claims to be the voice of the silent majority.  He has already angered some in the Muslim community when he chastised Mohammad Naseem, head of the Birmingham Central Mosque, for saying gays were like gamblers, pedophiles or compulsive murderers, and when living in Muslim countries should “respect the law and control their desire.”  Naseem's comment inspired Mughal to reach out to Tatchell and Benson.

Already ostracized by some, he should probably watch his back from now on.

Mozilla's CEO Forced To Resign Over Private Political Contribution Liberals Didn't Like

Mozilla's CEO Brendan Eich was forced to resign after it was discovered that he had made a private donation of $1,000 in 2008 supporting California's Proposition 8. You know that proposition that had every liberal and gay activist up in arms, the one that defined marriage as being between  a man and a woman.  Mozilla knew about his 'transgression' two years ago, but Eich was only senior management at the time, not the head honcho of the makers of the web browser Firefox.  As soon as he was promoted to Chief Executive last month, apparently half the board resigned, and there was an immediate call for his resignation. Which he did.

This is the reaction from one Heritage Foundation scholars:

Ryan T. Anderson, the William E. Simon Fellow in Religion and a Free Society, warned that “bullies” were poisoning democratic discourse by attacking anyone who doesn’t share their view:
The outrageous treatment of Eich is the result of one private, personal campaign contribution to support marriage as a male-female union, a view affirmed at the time by President Barack Obama, then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, and countless other prominent officials. After all, Prop 8 passed with the support of 7 million California voters.
So was President Obama a bigot back when he supported marriage as the union of a man and woman? And is characterizing political disagreement on this issue—no matter how thoughtfully expressed—as hate speech really the way to find common ground and peaceful co-existence?
Sure, the employees of Mozilla—which makes Firefox, the popular Internet browser—have the right to protest a CEO they dislike, for whatever reason. But are they treating their fellow citizens with whom they disagree civilly? Must every political disagreement be a capital case regarding the right to stand in civil society?
When Obama “evolved” on the issue just over a year ago, he insisted that the debate about marriage was legitimate. He said there are people of goodwill on both sides.

And:

Hans von Spakovsky, manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative and senior legal fellow, said the episode was an example of how the disclosure of political contributions served as a means to intimidate and harass an individual for his personal views:

Before Eich resigned, he pointed out that he had kept his personal beliefs out of Mozilla and that they were not relevant to his job as CEO. He was exactly right, although that did not prevent him from resigning.

In a startling display of irony that was obviously lost on her, Mozilla Executive Chairwoman Mitchell Baker, who approved of Eich’s resignation, said it was necessary because “preserving Mozilla’s integrity was paramount.” She seems not to recognize that forcing a founder of the company to resign because of his personal beliefs that have nothing to do with his qualifications as a corporate officer is the exact opposite of “integrity.”

Eich is certainly not alone in his predicament. As The Heritage Foundation previously pointed out, other supporters of Proposition 8 in California have been subjected to harassment, intimidation, vandalism, racial scapegoating, blacklisting, loss of employment, economic hardships, angry protests, violence, death threats, and anti-religious bigotry. All committed by individuals claiming they are simply trying to gain “acceptance” and who complain about the supposed intolerance of society over their lifestyle.
Although Andrew Sullivan of The Dish claims he's a conservative, he's pretty liberal on most social issues, including redefining marriage. He also happens to be openly gay and proud, and he was outraged at what happened to Eich, saying it “should disgust anyone interested in a tolerant and diverse society.”

He posted this on his website:

The guy who had the gall to express his First Amendment rights and favor Prop 8 in California by donating $1,000 has just been scalped by some gay activists. After an OKCupid decision to boycott Mozilla, the recently appointed Brendan Eich just resigned under pressure:

[snip]

Will he now be forced to walk through the streets in shame? Why not the stocks? The whole episode disgusts me – as it should disgust anyone interested in a tolerant and diverse society. If this is the gay rights movement today – hounding our opponents with a fanaticism more like the religious right than anyone else – then count me out. If we are about intimidating the free speech of others, we are no better than the anti-gay bullies who came before us.

Some of his readers took issue with his stance, so he wrote another post addressing those issues.

It's a sad day when our private lives can adversely effect our work life.

4/7/14:  Seems Eich founded Mozilla, so was basically forced out of his own company.

Jimmy Fallon Mocks Obama's Obamacare "Victory Lap"

Jimmy Fallon was at it again on the "Tonight Show" this time mocking Obama's "victory lap" speech regarding the whopping 7 plus million people who have allegedly signed up for Obamacare.  To put that into perspective, the USA has a population of between 315 and  317 million people. This is what he said:

“That’s right, the White House said that it surpassed its goal for people enrolled in ObamaCare,” Fallon said. “It’s amazing what you can achieve when you make something mandatory and fine people if they don’t do it. And then keep extending the deadline for months. It’s like a Cinderella story. It’s just a beautiful thing. You make everyone do it. Isn’t it great how many people do it? But if you still haven’t enrolled, you might have to pay a penalty called the individual shared responsibility payment, which is 1% of your salary. Then Americans said, ‘Man, good thing I don’t have a job.’”

Watch video on Top Right News.

However, not everyone believes the numbers are true. Some claim that of those 7 million people only 858,000 or so were uninsured, and have actually paid their premiums. Many others lost their insurance because of Obamacare and were forced to enroll, often with lesser coverage.

Loons Claim Malaysian Air Was Hijacked, American Passenger Hid iPhone In His Ass

According to the lunatic fringe, IBM exec Philip Wood claims to be one of the missing Malaysian Air 370 passengers, and no they're not dead or missing, he and his fellow passengers are all sequestered on the U.S. controlled military base Diego Garcia.  How do we know this?  Freelance conspiracy theorist wanna-be journalist Jim Stone (google him) claims the technical storage exec sent a photo and voice activated text message from his ass. Yes, Wood shoved his iPhone 5 up his ass when he realized his plane was being hijacked. And then told his ass to take a photo (for GPS coordinates), while he voice texted the following:

“I have been held hostage by unknown military personal after my flight was hijacked (blindfolded). I work for IBM and I have managed to hide my cellphone in my ass during the hijack. I have been separated from the rest of the passengers and I am in a cell. My name is Philip Wood. I think I have been drugged as well and cannot think clearly.”
There are actually many people who believe this. Of course it's sites like Before It's News, Intellihub and other questionable Internet news sites, but enough people are convinced it's true and not some sick joke.

Stone believes with "100 percent" certainty that the metadata and exif data from the pitch black photo is proof that the pic came from Wood, and that the GPS coordinates from the text message puts him close to Diego Garcia- an island close to the Maldives in the Indian Ocean. Actually, Stone thinks the photo was taken either in a darkened room or with his hands bound. Which means that he would have had to remove that iPhone from his butt, but when?

The black photo (1395192158752.jpg) apparently had the following info.

1395192158752Dimensions: 240 x 320

Device Make: Apple

Device Model: iPhone 5

Color Space: RGB

Color Profile: sRGB IEC61966-2.1

Focal Length: 4.12

Alpha Channel: No

Red Eye: No

F Number: 2.4

Exposure Program: 2

Exposure Time: 1/15
None of these sites theorizes, however on why the plane would have been hijacked and sent to an American military base.

There have been a slew of conspiracy theories, but this one takes the cake.

For more on the story.

No Hate Crime- Shaima Alawadi's Husband Goes On Trial For

Remember Shaima Alawadi? She was the 32-year-old Iraqi immigrant woman who was beaten to death in El Cajon, Califronia in March, 2012.  Everyone was convinced it was because she was a hijab-wearing Muslim woman. "Hate crime!" was the rallying cry from clueless liberals, after all there was a note left by her badly beaten body that said: Go back to your country, you terrorist. People were blaming right-wing Islamophobes in this country for inspiring some nut job to murder an innocent Muslim woman simply because she wore a hijab. Someone even created a Facebook page- One Million Hijabs For Shaima. But there were too many oddities surrounding the case, and it seemed to me more like an honor killing by a husband who Shaima was planning on divorcing. Or perhaps murder- Shaima's young daughter was terribly upset over an impending arranged marriage to a cousin.

About 8 months later, surprise, surprise, Shaima's 48-year-old husband Kassim Alhimidi was arrested for the murder. They didn't call it an honor killing, though- not the politically correct thing to do- no, they called it domestic violence.

Anyway, Kassim's day in court has arrived.

An Iraqi man wailed Tuesday during opening statements of his U.S. trial on a charge of murdering his wife, prompting the judge to halt proceedings briefly.
Two years after the Shaima Alawadi’s fatal beating in her California home drew international attention, the weapon remains missing but prosecutors said other evidence proves her husband, Kassim Alhimidi, killed her.
Prosecutor Kurt Mechals told jurors that local and federal police investigated the March 21 death initially as a hate crime because of a note found near her body, but street camera footage and the information from the couple’s eldest daughter about a troubled marriage led police to Alhimidi.
Defense attorney Douglas Gilliland said no blood was found on Alhimidi, who has cooperated with authorities.

I still wonder if the daughter had anything to do with the murder, but not surprised at all that it was a family member.

And that Facebook page no longer exists. It was gone after the arrest of Kassim.

Ben Affleck Says He Doesn't Really Like Republicans

Die-hard liberal actor Ben Affleck told Playboy Magazine in an interview back in December:

“When I watch a guy [on screen] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him, or we would have different opinions. That sh*t fogs the mind when you should be paying attention and be swept into the illusion.”

He does admit he dislikes the money/politics connect. Period. Those $56,000 dinners, regardless of who they are for. And "being used as a prop to schmooze people and try to milk the teat of the donor for money." Not too happy with that either. But he still doesn't think he'd like a Republican if he met one.

Hmm.  Wonder if he'd feel the same about a director who happens to be a Republican, not that there are many who have admitted they are. Would he turn down a gig because a director was conservative?

More on the story here.
