The U.S. Navy's new "Terrorist Catch and Release" program

"The US Navy today announced that it has released a senior Al Qaeda terrorist after questioning him extensively for 27 days while being held prisoner aboard a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea. In a humanitarian gesture, the terrorist was given $50 and a white 1962 Ford Fairlane automobile and sent on his way."

A little humour for a change.

  4. Very good! I enjoyed your post. I hope you will someday feel good about proclaiming your true feelings. I felt that way about my time in Vietnam for a long time. Now I'm ok with it. I did the right thing.

  12. He! This idea could have saved a lot of headache with Gitmo.

Oh, and re Michael Moore - his appearance could have ruined the carrier's balance. Too dangerous...

The caption reads that this took place in 2003. The photo was taken in 1978, but given the caption, nobody used it in a slideshow in 2001.

The actual event took place in 1978. I was there.
