The Death Of Free Speech: Geert Wilders' Anti-Islamization Film "Fitna" Pulled After Threats

Not many, but some do get it, in Europe. Those with enough awareness and foresight to envision the adverse affects the threat that global Islamization will have on the free world as we see it today. Those few brave souls who have the courage to do something about it, and at great personal risk. Those who refuse to allow themselves to succumb to fear or complacency or inertia. One such person is Dutch politician Geert Wilders. He just produced a powerful video entitled "Fitna" which highlights the barbarity of the darker aspects of Islam. And there are many. Quoting Surahs from the Koran, there are graphic and harrowing images of 9/11, the bombings in Spain and London, a beheading, along with preaching of hate from mainstream Imams across the globe. There are photographs of demonstrators with placards boldly stating "Islam Will Dominate The World". And these are not terrorists, or small factions of extremists, these are ordinary Brits and other European Muslims proudly carrying those signs that call for death to all "infidels".

Liveleak.com was the only source that was brave enough to host Wilders' film, no-one else dared. I had the opportunity to watch it a few nights ago, before it was unceremoniously pulled from their servers. Why? Because of serious threats to staff members. One can only assume those threats originated from the Muslim world. It has happened before, and obviously will happen again. If you click on the video below, what was once the film is now an official notice indicating why they can no longer safely allow it to remain on their servers. This is indeed a tragic day for freedom of speech, and just serves as a gross reminder of what we are actually dealing with, and what we have to look forward to.

Any religious ideology that calls for world domination, that resorts to violence and threats of death to achieve those ends, is not a religion but an aberration. Sorry, but there is no one religion that holds the franchise on God. God belongs to all, not just the Muslims, and until they decide they are willing to share Him, that they can play in the global sandbox we call earth with their non-Muslim brethren, in a civilized manner, I will continue to criticize and raise my voice in anger.

I will defend my right to worship as I please! I will NOT submit! And I will NOT be silenced!

UPDATE 3/29/08:

Here's a transcript of the film and it is now on youtube, although who knows for how long.

UPDATE 4/1/08

The video is back up and running, but apparently a modified version is in the works, sans the cartoon.

Does China Deserve The Olympics?

I'm still trying to figure out what possessed the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to bestow upon China the honour of hosting the 2008 Olympic Games. A country that continuously, and flagrantly, violates the rights of its own citizens.

The following statement graces the home page of the IOC :

"The Games have always brought people together in peace to respect universal moral principles. The upcoming Games will feature athletes from all over the world and help promote the Olympic spirit."
Peace? Respect? Moral principles? Shouldn't the host country adhere to some, if not all, of those principles? Though China has evolved, somewhat, by joining the global economic community (and it did so out of necessity) it has not changed a whit, when it comes to the darker issues of human rights abuses. China does not respect its citizens, and it certainly has no concept of universal moral principles. I've written about their execution buses, their forced abortions. And witness what's occurring right now in Tibet, a country they have no legitimate rights to, but have been occupying for ages. First-hand accounts (as reported to Radio free Asia -RFA) chronicle the unwarranted brutality perpetrated by Chinese security forces against Tibetans:

"They tried to pull down the Tibetan flag that had been raised by protestors at the town headquarters building on the 17th, and when the protestors peacefully resisted, the security forces opened fire, killing two protestors. Their names were Kyari and Tsedo. Both were from Tseshul village. Another eight persons, including Yeshe Dorje and Tabke, were seriously wounded and were taken to Serthar county hospital."

“Many Chinese security forces have arrived in the Serkar monastery in the Kham Gapa area to impart re-education programs among the monks. But all the monks refused to participate in the program and instead raised slogans demanding religious freedom and human rights. There are around 500 monks. The Chinese army before leaving the monastery threatened the monks that they were going to come back the next day to deal with them. I have not received any further information after that.”

These are not isolated incidents. I posted, back in September, about the shooting of innocent Tibetan refugee/pilgrims crossing the Nepalese border with Tibet. They were headed, in the snow, to India. Caught on tape by some foreign filmmakers, one emotion-filled witness declared, "They are shooting them like... like dogs". And so they were. 2 people were killed, including a young Tibetan nun.

Since the recent anti-China protests in Tibet, there have been crackdowns on Tibetans in China, as well. One Tibetan writer, Tsering Woeser, and her Chinese husband have both been placed under house arrest. And, apparently, her blogs were blocked (last year) after merely publishing a photo of the Dalai Lama.

And, not surprisingly, there is talk of the banning of live broadcasts of the games, and there have been warnings to tourists about Chinese government monitoring of hotels and other public and private areas. I'm not sure who would want to attend the Olympics, given the current circumstances and China's inability to temper its grievous behaviour; but there will obviously be attendees, and China will continue on its merry way.
Frankly, China does not deserve hosting what, in my mind, represents the spirit of friendly competition and universal brotherhood. At least, until they clean up their act.

"Don't Tell Me Words Don't Matter"- Sez Barack Obama

Another telling Barack Obama video. And, in spite of the dark side of Obama coming to light, people are still endorsing him. The latest: New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. I realize they don't have much choice, but our choice is far better than either of the Democratic candidates.

Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ: Black, Proud and Full Of Hate

I have no problem with honoring one's cultural heritage, without which we would have no Cinco De Mayo, no Chinese New Year celebrations, no Greek and Scottish Fests. Experiencing the art and culture of other peoples enriches and enhances our lives. It enables us to understand and help bridge the gap between what we are familiar and comfortable with and the unknown. Fear and ignorance of those who are different from ourselves are contributing factors in global and personal conflict. By embracing and understanding others we can overcome those fears. But when that pride turns to divisiveness, when it encourages separation as opposed to inclusiveness, that I have major problems with.

Unlike many in my party, I believe that cultural diversity is what makes this country great. The very foundation of this nation was built through the blood and sweat of immigrants, so not acknowledging our heritage is to dishonor our ancestors. However, having said that, I also believe it is imperative that those that live or choose to live in this country adapt to our American ways; they should be, first and foremost, Americans. That includes Whites, Asians, Hispanics and Blacks.

I watched snippets from various sermons by Barack Obama's hate-filled Reverend Jeremiah Wright (Trinity United Church Of Christ) and was absolutely appalled. This is someone Barack Obama, for a full 20 years, has looked to as his spiritual advisor, and who inspired his book "The Audacity Of Hope". A man he prayed with before announcing his presidential bid. This self-same pastor who claims to be a Christian, but is the antithesis of what a Christian should be; who preaches hatred of the U.S. is a racist at heart, is virulently anti-Israel and has honored Louis Farrakhan (radical leader of Nation of Islam) with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The Louis Farrakhan who is anti-everything. I could barely listen to Wright's ranting diatribes for the few minutes on youtube, and yet, this is a man who has influenced Obama for the past 2 decades.

Do we really want a man who is a member of a racist church that encourages separation rather than integration and brotherhood? Not I!

Why Obama Mustn't Win

This short 52 second youtube video of Barack Obama basically telling us that he will disarm America, is only one of many reasons why he must never become our next prez.

David Mamet Abandons 'Brain-Dead" Liberal Fold

As is all too painfully apparent, most people in the entertainment industry are traditionally ultra left. We are often treated to vitriolic rants by the Hollywood elite regarding how hateful this country is, how fractured and vile we are as Americans. And although, admittedly, we are far from perfect, we are not the pariahs the libs frequently make us out to be. So, when someone in the movie biz abandons the liberal fold, and deigns to make it publicly known, it is cause for much celebration for those of us who ditched it long ago, or who never embraced it to begin with. Those of us cowering in the fringes, fearful of openly acknowledging our non-liberalness, other than in venues like this (where we can remain in relative anonymity), we raise our hands in grateful praise. Hallelujah! Another one has finally seen the light.

It's not often, but every once in a while a notable celebrity will quietly reveal his conservative bent, or admit this country 'aint half as bad as the ultra-libs seem to think it is. David Mamet, acclaimed playwright, screenwriter, director (GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, THE VERDICT, WAG THE DOG, SPEED-THE-PLOW) is one of those. Though I wouldn't hand him his conservative badge of honour, just yet, he wrote a very interesting article for the Village Voice, recently, entitled: David Mamet: Why I Am No Longer A 'Brain-Dead Liberal- an election-season essay'. His words, not mine.

"I took the liberal view for many decades, but I believe I have changed my mind. As a child of the '60s, I accepted as an article of faith that
government is corrupt, that business is exploitative, and that people are generally good at heart. These cherished precepts had, over the years, become ingrained as increasingly impracticable prejudices. Why do I say impracticable? Because although I still held these beliefs, I no longer applied them in my life. How do I know? My wife informed me. We were riding along and listening to NPR. I felt my facial muscles tightening, and the words beginning to form in my mind: Shut the fuck up. "?" she prompted. And her terse, elegant summation, as always, awakened me to a deeper truth: I had been listening to NPR and reading
various organs of national opinion for years, wonder and rage contending for pride of place. Further: I found I had been—rather charmingly, I thought—referring to myself for years as "a brain-dead liberal," and to NPR as "National Palestinian Radio."

It's a brilliant, wonderfully revelatory dissertation on how he came to terms with his more tolerant and accepting conservative side. He talks about how he came to realize that the faults of President George W. Bush were no different than the faults of President John F. Kennedy, whom he happened to revere. He talks about class, but how unlike the Marxist view, the U.S. class system is not static. The poor can rise from the depths of poverty and make something of their lives, whilst the rich and powerful can fall.

It's a fascinating 5 pages of the inner workings of an ex-lib, and well worth the read.

Let's hope more in my industry, and other traditionally liberal fields, find their way to the Truth, as David Mamet has.

Sex And Liberal Hypocrisy, Part 3: Spitzer And The Ho!

We all know that most men's brains and their privates are inextricably linked, and perhaps that's why they have an such an impressive lack of self control (and a serious lack of clarity) when it comes to sexual matters. To risk one's family and career for an illicit sexual dalliance just proves my point. And it happens time and again.

One would think that after recent allegations of sexual misconduct from some of our illustrious members of congress, those in other visible, high profile positions would somehow control those extra-curricular activities. But nope, we now have N.Y. Governor Eliot Spitzer, DEMOCRAT, (thank you very much) caught with his proverbial pants down. And you know what? No-one seems to care that much. Why? Because he's a Democrat, after all. Had this been a Republican, the Democratic Party would be foaming at the mouth, demanding his immediate resignation. For now, he's merely contemplating it, and the rest of the party is remaining noticeably, but not surprisingly, mum. I don't expect them to condemn his behaviour, considering no-one seemed to give a dang about Bill Clinton's infamous actions with that "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" woman. We have the ex-CEO of this country having a sexual liaison with a young intern (while in office!), blatantly lying about it, and suffering no consequences. Why would they then bother censuring Spitzer? In fact, with all the scandal surrounding the Clintons, the Mrs. has actually been rewarded with the potential of becoming the next president of the U.S.A. This would never happen if the Clintons happened to be Republicans.

So this whole sordid Spitzer affair will eventually fade from public view, with perhaps a slap of a hand, and life will go on, as per usual. As it always does for the liberal left.

Europe Fights Back: The Veiling Of Sculptures and Statues Campaign

In response to the creeping Islamization of Europe, a group of free-thinking Europeans have started up their "veiling campaign" , again, to coincide with International Women's Day (March8).

On March 6th, across Germany, Russia and Finland, statues and sculptures were veiled in Burqas or headscarves in an effort to bring to light the plight of women under Islam.

Please visit their website for more info.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights, United Nations, Art. 1

"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood."

Quran, Sura 4,34

"To those (women) on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them."

Please feel free to post about this.

AP Bullies Blogger Into Shutting Down

Mike over at Lamplighter has an interesting post about AP bullying "Snapped Shot" website owner, David Ledbetter, into shutting down. Apparently, they are not thrilled with his critical analysis of their photojournalism and have asked him to remove their photos from his website. He has chosen to take the site offline until the issue can be resolved "amicably".

This seems to be happening frequently, and Mike has some great advice on the Fair Use Doctrine.

I don't have any time to delve into this more because we are in crunch tech week, as we open next Friday. After we open, I will be more active.

Blessings to all.
