St. Paul Minnesota YMCA Swimming Pools Going Shariah Compliant

Apparently, the St Paul, Minnesota YMCA (with the help of the St. Paul police department) is accommodating the large Somali Muslim population, and making the swimming pools Shariah compliant.  According to the Star Tribune the YMCA has created a swim group for Somali girls from 5-17:

According to the report, during the hourlong swim practice, all other swimmers are cleared out of the pool. The men’s locker room is locked and female life guards are brought in. “I think this is just a great opportunity for them to learn basic skills that we take for granted,” said Sgt. Jennifer O’Donnell, who has worked with the Somali community regularly during her time with the department.
The mother of Rayan Dhamuke (12) believes they "have to have privacy, and the poor little thing had to swim at 5 a.m. during the summer because, God forbid, any male should see her swimming.

Allen West puts it succinctly:

You can only imagine the outcry from the ACLU and atheist organizations if a Christian group were advocating for “private” swim time. I thought our country struck down the concept of “separate but equal?”
Why would Somalis come to America if they wanted to maintain their discriminatory cultural and religious beliefs?

Al-Qaeda Linked Jihadists Execute Syrian Opposition

Truthloader has a video alleging that members of the jihadist Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS)- one of the many al-Qaeda linked groups fighting in Syria- executed seven so-called moderate opposition fighters from the Ghurabaa al-Sham Brigade, including their Commander Hassan Jazera. Jazera was accused of looting and being corrupt, but who knows what the truth is. The Ghurabaa al-Sham Brigade have been fighting from the start.  They just like to kill.

Check out video here.

Then of course you have the jihadists who accidentally beheaded one of their own. Oops. That time it was two foreign fighters with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) who beheaded Mohammed Marroush, a jihadist with the Ahrah al-Sham Brigade. Ahrah al-Sham is supposedly an ally of ISIL. A Tunisian was arrested by ISIL for mistaking Marroush for a Shiite Bashar al-Assad fighter, and subsequently chopping off his head. The other guilty party, from the Gulf, remains free.

Happy Thanksgivikkah- Video Parody "Oils" by Kate Steinberg

This year Hanukkah is being celebrated around the same time as Thanksgiving, so here's a fun video parody of Lorde's  song "Royals" celebrating the dual holiday of Thanksgivukkah called "Oils"... enjoy! Vocals by Kate Steinberg.

And have a blessed Thanksgiving and a very Happy Hanukkah!!

Lyrics from YouTube:

[Verse 1]
I always cooked a turkey in Novem[ber],
I lit my eight menorah candles in December.
But now my schedule's a mess Because Hanukkah's tied to Thanksgiving.

[Chorus]
Now everyone's like Pilgrims, Indians, readers of the torah
Puritans, Wampanoag, dancers of the hora
We don't care, we're celebrating Thanksgivukkah.

And now the menus like stuffing, cranberry, turkey leg or brisket,
Manischewitz, pumpkin pie, holidays are mixing.
We don't care, we'll throw our dreidels in the air.

And we'll always have oil (oil)
For frying our latkes.
It's just about a month early
To honor Judah Maccabee.

It should be in winter (winter)
No more leaves on the ground.
Members of the tribe, the tribe, the tribe, the tribe
All together getting down.

[Verse 2]
My friends and I would watch football
We'd wait for Charlie Brown to fly in front of Macy's.
Instead we're filling up our gourds, with chocolate coins
it's a horn of plenty.

[Verse 3]
Ooh ooh oh,
Thanksgiving plus Hanukkah
This is just meshugenah.
Ooh ooh oh,
Historically inaccurate
but we don't really give a sh*t.

[Chorus]
And we'll always have oil (oil)
For frying our latkes.
It's just about a month early
To honor Judah Maccabee.

It should be in winter (winter)
No more leaves on the ground.
Members of the tribe, the tribe, the tribe, the tribe
All together getting down.

25 Little Known Thanksgiving Facts From Mental Floss

For those of you into trivia, here are some little known facts about Thanksgiving, courtesy of Mental Floss on YouTube, none of which I was aware of.

Have a good one tomorrow.

Angolan Embassy Officials Deny Ban On Islam and Destruction of Mosques

People were cheering Angola for allegedly banning Islam and promising to destroy mosques this past weekend, but that joy was short-lived since it's apparently not true. At least according to the Angolan Embassy in Washington, D.C. The anonymous Embassy official said of the allegations:

“The Republic of Angola … it’s a country that does not interfere in religion. We have a lot of religions there. It is freedom of religion. We have Catholic, Protestants, Baptists, Muslims and evangelical people.”

Another Embassy official told IBTimes:

“At the moment, we don’t have any information about that. We’re reading about it just like you on the Internet. We don’t have any notice that what you’re reading on the Internet is true.”

As is often the case, there was much questionable information regarding the whole issue, including a suspect photo of a dismantled mosque. The African press (including the Osun Defender)- which broke the story- supposedly quoted the president of the Christian-majority country, José Eduardo dos Santos, saying:

"This is the final end of Islamic influence in our country."
But that info came from a Muslim website OnIslam.net.

But he was not even in the country when he was quoted as saying that.

But then you have this:

Weekly French-language Beninese newspaper La Nouvelle Tribune published an article on Friday sourcing "several" Angolan officials, including the minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz, who reportedly offered the following remarks, which have been translated from French: "The process of legalization of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. Their mosques would be closed until further notice."

However, one of the Embassy sources has said he knows nothing about Cruz making those comments.

“I cannot confirm if the Minister of Culture said that. I cannot find that in our press."

So, no-one knows for sure whether any of this actually was said. The Embassy officials deny any knowledge, but that means nothing.

It could just be a case of wishful thinking.

And more denials from the Angolan government.

Afghan Couple Eloping Shot Dead By Family

And because families would rather see their children dead than happily married to someone they did not chose- we have the following story from northern Afghanistan:

A 20-year-old girl and her boyfriend (age unknown) were honor killed by her family as they tried to escape by car. They were trying to elope.

"While they were fleeing, suddenly their car crashed and locals arrested them. People wanted to stone them on the spot but some elders disagreed," the provincial head of women's affairs, Khadija Yaqeen, told Reuters on Monday.
"The next day they decided and shot both of them dead in public. Our findings show that the woman's father had ordered to shoot both man and woman."

According to RFE/RL the local elders gave the order to kill the young lovers.

Afghanistan Mulls Reinstating Stoning For Adultery

It's the 21st century, and according to Human Rights Watch (HRW) some officials within the Afghan government are lobbying to get public stoning for adultery back into the penal code. The Taliban enjoyed that public form of punishment/entertainment when they reigned supreme some 12 years ago. So popular, they were held in the Ghazi Stadium in Kabul.

A draft, put together by the Justice Ministry, proposes stoning for married adulterers and flogging for unmarried ones- remember, sex outside of marriage under Shariah law is considered adultery.

“Men and women who commit adultery shall be punished based on the circumstances to one of the following punishments: lashing, stoning [to death],” article 21 states. The draft goes on to specify that the stoning should be public, in article 23.

And we're thinking of staying on past 2014??

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women- Nov 25th - Video

In honor of  International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, I thought this video on RFE/RL was sadly appropriate.

It also reflects all that is horrendous about the life of women in places like Afghanistan.

According to Akhtara- a mother of four in her late twenties- she was married off to a rich older man at the age of 10. Then one day the old man's nephew wound up murdering him, and three years after Akhtara refused to marry the nephew (who then fled to Pakistan), he showed up at her door and threw acid in her face.  She now has to beg to support her kids, and one her boys works from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help with the rent.

Saudi Woman Who Elopes To Yemen Granted Asylum By UNHCR

It's not often you hear good news from the Middle East regarding star-crossed lovers. Usually one or the other- or both- wind up getting killed by family members. In this case, at least for now, it turned out happily for a Saudi woman and her Yemeni fiance'. Huda Abdullah Al Niran was betrothed to someone else as part of an arranged marriage, so she escaped to Yemen so she could marry her boyfriend Arafat. In fact two tribal leaders in Yemen helped them get married, including providing a house, and furniture for a bedroom for the couple.

However, things still could turn out badly since Huda is being charged with illegal entry into Yemen. Activists have protested, and she has now been granted asylum (at her request) by the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which means that she can't be deported Not sure why UNHCR has anything to do with Yemen's granting asylum to the young woman, but according to an official the reason they did so was that she "could face torture or even death if she returned as tribal norms dictate in such cases."

Arafat is also being charged with helping Huda enter the country illegally, however his lawyer  claims that since he arrived at the border nine hours after Huda, technically he did not commit a crime.

She'll find out her fate on Tuesday.

Pallywood Went To Egypt: Pro-Morsi Protests Staged For The Camera

Not sure if this source can be trusted, but it allegedly shows pro-Morsi Muslim Brotherhood actor types staging a "demonstration" in Egypt for the camera- fake blood and all- back in August. It just shows how common Pallywood staging is, even outside of Palestine.

For more on Pallywood Richard Landes in late 2012 posted info and photos over at The Augean Stables, and the UK Telegraph.  And here's a history.

Jihadists Chop Down 150-Year-Old Tree In Syria

Atme has been a Free Syrian Army (FSA) stronghold fighting Bashar al-Assad's forces for a while, but jihadists from the Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL) have just taken control. This does not sit well with local FSA fighters, like Abu Leila ,who want nothing to do with the jihadists, but seem at a loss to prevent the inevitable takeovers that are happening in rebel held regions of Syria.

According to Leila ISIL:

“have taken over Atme... They have set up checkpoints across the town." [snip] "Atme was oxygen for the (rebel) Free Syrian Army. ”  Atme was being used  “as an entry point for everything from weapons to food, and as an exit point for the wounded” into Turkey’s hospitals, said Abu Leila.

And wherever the jihadists go they bring their supreme ignorance with them.

There was a a 150-year-old oak tree standing next to an ancient shrine in Atme, a Syria/Turkey border town.  Because jihadists don't like shrines, they took over the site and stopped people from worshipping there.  When that happened the locals started praying next to the tree, so the jihadists chopped it down claiming the people were worshipping the tree.

According to a pro-jihadist source:

“Thank God almighty, the tree... aged more than 150 years has been removed, after people were worshipping it instead of God,” said the source on Thursday via his Twitter account named “our call is our jihad”.
He also posted pictures of a man in a black mask using an electric saw to cut down the tree. A black Al-Qaeda-style flag bearing the Islamic profession of faith had been planted on top of the tree.

Such stupidity on so many levels.

Spirit Airlines Takes Dig At Obamacare In Latest Ad Campaign

Spirit Airlines, the only airline (that I know of) to charge for carry-on baggage, has added the Obamacare fiasco to its ad campaign arsenal titled the Affordable Fare Act. Making fun of the website woes and Barack Obama's failed promises regarding keeping your insurance, Spirit Airlines sent an email touting its latest low prices featuring the following:

“If you like your low fares, you can keep your low fares … because our website actually works!”  “Take advantage of our Affordable Fare Act with this deal!”
Sure the prices seem low- $19.90 one way for Spirit members and $29.90 for non-members- but who knows where those flights will take you, and then you have to factor in all your baggage fees. I refuse to fly Spirit, but I admire the rather gutsy ad campaign.

According to Fox, Spirit cleverly uses breaking news to fashion its ad campaigns, including one called "We're Not Smoking Crack" in honor of, yes- Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

Fancy Shoes Get Afghans Deported From Iran

All it took for half of an Afghan family to be deported  from Iran, where they had lived legally for the past 15 or so years, was a pair of pink sneakers and platform shoes. 17-year-old Zohrah wore the platform sandals and her 15-year-old sister Hasina donned a pair of pink sneakers on a 35 kilometer pilgrimage to the Shia holy city of Qoms.  They were arrested after they argued with a policeman in Qoms who noticed the shoes and the makeup, found it offensive, and charged them with not abiding by Islamic dress code. Zohrah immediately called her fiance' who then called their father to come help, but they too were arrested when they arrived at the station, and three or four days later the four found themselves on the border of Iran and Afghanistan waiting deportation.

According to Human Rights Watch, Afghans are not allowed Iranian citizenship, and even though they might be there legally (like Zohrah and Hasina's family), and Hasina was born there, they can be easily deported.

Iran detains and deports hundreds of thousands of Afghans every year with without any legal proceedings or the opportunity to seek asylum, according to a new Human Rights Watch report, Unwelcome Guests. Members of the Iranian security forces have absolute power to deport Afghans. Afghans facing deportation are typically bused to Afghanistan within a couple of days of being detained without any opportunity to prove that they have a legal right to live in Iran or to lodge an asylum claim. These days, Afghans are systematically denied the opportunity to apply for refugee status when they first enter Iran, leaving them vulnerable to deportation at any moment. Some deportees are beaten during the deportation process, and all are charged exorbitant fees.
Zohrah and Hasina's mother and 3 other young siblings (12, 8, 3) have been left behind to fend for themselves. And the girls are facing an even worse hell-hole for women, in Afghanistan. And now the father has to figure out what to do about his family in Iran (including an aunt and grandparents), and his two girls in Afghanistan.

“We don’t have any money in Afghanistan,” he said. “We don’t have any money to go back to Iran. My wife does not work, she’s uneducated. What will she do?”
“What will we do?” he said.

All of this because of some shoes.  Gotta love the Islamic Republic of Iran.

George W. Bush On The Tonight Show With Jay Leno- video

Love George "Dubya" Bush. What a down to earth man. And you have to give him credit for not criticizing Barack Obama during these disastrous years, since there have  been a multitude of things to blast him for.  Jay Leno asks him about that, and Bush responded:

"I don't think it's good for the country to have a former president criticize his successor."
Given the positive response to Bush, the audience was probably mostly conservative.

You can find the rest of Bush on Leno on YouTube.

American Jihadist In Syria Who Promised To Spread Islam Throughout The World- Is Dead

Well there's one less foreign jihadist fighting in Syria. This one happened to be American. The video is of Abu Dujana al-Amriki- while still alive- with a message for the West about how he and his mujahideen buddies will defy and kill all the Kuffar (infidels) that get in the way of spreading Islam and Shariah in Syria and the rest of the world.

The Syrian Army sent him off to meet his 72 (virgins) in the village of al-Hamra, in northwestern Syria.

Adios.

Israeli Hospital Treats Hamas Chief's Sick Grandchild

Hamas would love to see Israel wiped off the map, it's written right there in its Charter. The head of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, has also been very adamant about refusing to recognize Israel. In fact, according to Arutz Sheva 7 news:

On Monday, Hamas representatives told students at the Khan Yunes College of Science and Technology that they were working diligently on digging more terror tunnels into Israel during the relative calm, threatening, "we will enter your homes, your schools, your positions and your strongholds."
Most Palestinians hate the Jews and Israelis, they want nothing to do with them, until they need medical help, that is.  Even Ismail Haniyeh- who had his critically ill 1-year-old grandchild Amal transferred the Schneider Children's Medical Center, in Petah Tikva, Israel. The little girl is suffering from serious digestive problems, and her dad, Abdessalam Haniyeh, posted on Facebook:

"Amal has crossed the border with Israel now, and I call on God to grant her health.
"I call on God to grant good health to my daughter Amal, who entered in a state of clinical death," he added the next day.
Israel has said they are unaware of the transfer, apparently there are photos on social network sites of granddad Haniyeh visiting the sick child in a Gaza hospital prior to transfer.

Will there be thanks to Israeli for trying to save this child? Doubtful.

"Knockout" Game Targeting Random Victims Spreading Across U.S.

There is something desperately wrong with the youth of today when they find amusement in a sick and disturbing  'game' that seems to be spreading across the U.S. even though it has been around since at least 2005. It's called "Knockout" or "King Hit" or "One Hit Knockout" and the goal is to knockout cold- with one punch- some random passerby. They call the perpetrator "The One Hitter Quitter" and it matters not the age or gender of the victim.

But sometimes it doesn't stop with the one punch, and the victim is beaten up. That's what happened to a 46-year-old Hoboken, New Jersey homeless man- Ralph Santiago, who was found with a broken neck, his head wedged between iron fence posts. And he's not the only one found dead, there have also been deaths in Syracuse, New York, and St. Louis, Missouri. So far.

A predominately black on white crime, immigrants have also been attacked including a 72-year-old Vietnamese man and his wife, in St. Louis, who were targeted back in 2011. The old man, Hoang D. Nguyen died of his injuries. And in Brooklyn they're targeting Jews. Many of the victims have been older, more fragile individuals which makes what these thugs are doing even more heinous.

This happened in London, but I'm not sure if it was just some nutter targeting this young girl in 2012 or part of this trending phenomenon.

It's apparently more prevalent than authorities are letting on. There needs to be severe punishment for those caught.

Sick Baby Named Al-Sisi Denied Care By Islamist Egyptian Doctor?

Maybe Arab Muslim doctors don't take the Hippocratic Oath when they embark on their healing careers, if an Egyptian doctor at the Kafr el-Sheikh General Hospital near Cairo is any indication. Senior physician Ezzat Abdulaziz refused to treat a three-month old baby with a high temp because the little boy's name was al-Sisi.  He's apparently an Islamist Muslim Brother supporter, and obviously took offense to the fact the child was named after General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the savior of anti-Islamist Egyptians.

“I took my baby to the hospital, but the doctor expelled me out of the room refusing to treat the baby after learning that his name is al-Sisi,” the baby’s mother told the private Dream TV.
“I took my baby, who had a high temperature, to another woman doctor who examined him and issued a prescription for him,” the mother added.

The governor of Kafr el-Sheikh called the doctor's inaction negligent.

4 French Alleged Syria Jihadists Arrested In Paris

Apparently there are approximately 440 French jihadists who have either fought in Syria and are now back home in France, intend on fighting, or are already there. Four of those jihadists are now out of commission, for now at least, after being arrested by French authorities in Paris. The men, part of a network lead by a 24-year-old, were in their 20s and 30s, and were caught by French intelligence (DCRI). The network is responsible for training and shipping fighters to Syria. Probably the same network that sent this idiot over there. They also arrested a woman, but the fools released her.  One of the men was born in Morocco, but the other three are natives of France.

According to a source, 10 or so have been killed- no loss there- and around 50 to 60 have returned from Syria. You can't really say they were radicalized over there, because being radicalized was what obviously prompted them to trek on over to Syria to fight, to begin with.

Too bad they can't all be rounded up to keep the French people safe.

Radicalised European Jihadists In Syria A Threat If They Go Home- Video

Spy chiefs in Europe believe that European jihadists fighting in Syria are a major threat if they make it home alive. One in ten rebel fighters in Syria happen to be from Europe, and most are natives not immigrants, like the French idiot interviewed in the video (and his brother) whose parents were atheists.

The Ugliest Islamic Face Veil Of All- The Burghu

The burghu, not to be mixed up with the wheat product bulgur, is probably one of the ugliest forms of Islamic face coverings you will ever encounter. There's very little information out there other than references to it in an article in Gulf News regarding a recently published book by Dr. Reem El Mutwalli titled 'Sultani, Changes in Women's Traditional Dress in the UAE during the reign of Shaikh Zayid Bi Sultan Al Nahyan 1966-2004.'

The burqa, and niqab are ugly enough:

Afghan Blue Burqa

Niqab

But the burghu looks like a cross between something out of some  fetishist/S and M catalogue and some kind of muzzle you'd use on a vicious pet. It also disturbingly resembles a mustache, at least in the photos below, which are published in Mutwalli's book.

Mutwalli  actually has an uber cool website, and a Pinterest board where you can see other photos of traditional outfits worn during the period of time she writes about, some of which are actually quite beautiful. But this burghu... it's  just another symbol of the "muzzling" of Arab Muslim womenfolk. According to some info on one of the photos on her Pinterest board (although that one is called a Bandari costume), the younger generation no longer wears them, and it's usually married older women and rural dwellers in the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Arabs of southern Iran and southeastern Turkey who still do.

Video: Reagan Gives Obama and Others a Lecture On Socialism

This is a few years old, and part of a documentary film (I think) titled "I want Your Money."  It stars Ronald Reagan giving Barack Obama- and a bevy of other political celebs (both left and right) from the Clintons to Sarah Palin- a lecture on socialism.

Egypt Ranks Worst For Women In Arab World In Thomson Reuter Poll

Believe it or not, Egypt tops the list as the worst Arab country for women, with Comoros coming in as the best, at least according to a Thomson Reuters Foundation survey.  I would have thought Saudi Arabia or Yemen would have taken top honors, but no, it's Egypt because of various factors including rampant and excessive sexual harassment, female genital mutilation (FGM), trafficking, the rise of Islamism (and the violence that has ensued) as a result of the Arab Spring,

The poll by Thomson Reuters' philanthropic arm surveyed 336 gender experts in August and September in 21 Arab League states and Syria, which was a founding member of the Arab League but was suspended in 2011.
[snip]
The poll assessed violence against women, reproductive rights, treatment of women within the family, their integration into society and attitudes towards a woman’s role in politics and the economy.

99.3 percent of Egyptian women have experienced some form of sexual harassment, per a UN report in April. At the height of the anti-Morsi protests in June, 91 women were reported as having been raped or sexually assaulted in Tahrir Square, according to Human Rights Watch.

“The social acceptability of everyday sexual harassment affects every woman in Egypt regardless of age, professional or socio-economic background, marriage status, dress or behavior,” said Noora Flinkman, communications manager at HarassMap, a Cairo-based rights group that campaigns against harassment. “It limits women’s participation in public life. It affects their safety and security, their sense of worth, self-confidence and health.”

Then there's the trafficking and forced marriage of women. Zahra Radwan of  Global Fund For Women claims:

“There are whole villages on the outskirts of Cairo and elsewhere where the bulk of economic activity is based on trafficking in women and forced marriages."
As for FGM, UNICEF says that a whopping 27.2 million women and young girls have been cut. That's 91% of the female population. Djibouti, though, beats Egypt by 2%.

Here's a list of how each country ranked (from worst to best):

22. Egypt
21. Iraq
20. Saudi Arabia
19. Syria
18. Yemen
17. Sudan
16. Lebanon
15. Palestinian territories
14. Somalia
13. Djibouti
12. Bahrain
11. Mauritania
10. UAE
9. Libya
8. Morocco
7. Algeria
6. Tunisia
5. Qatar
4. Jordan
3. Kuwait
2. Oman
1. Comoros

Ahram has more on why some of the others ranked worst.

But here's an article that discusses why ranking Egypt as number one is misleading.

They're all pretty pathetic when it comes to women's rights.

Mark Dice Gets Reaction From People On News That Martin Luther King Died In Car Crash Today!

Mark Dice has some far out ideas that I don't buy, but he's at it again demonstrating just how stupid some Americans really are.

Dice takes it to the streets of California (looks like Venice Beach, but I could be wrong) asking random strangers what they think of Martin Luther King's death in a car crash, "today."

Yes, there are people who have absolutely no clue. These are people who vote.

Women Have Half The Brain Function As Men- Claims Saudi Scholar Al Arifi

Sheikh Muhammad al-Arifi is a famous Saudi scholar and professor at King Saud University. He has a Twitter following of 7 million. In a video on YouTube he explains why Allah (in the Quran) requires the need for two women to testify versus the testimony of one man.  Because, apparently, we have half the brain function as men:

".... the man has a gland in his head that allows him to do two things: Remember, and talk-- at the same time. As for the woman, her gland only allows her to do one thing. Either she remembers, or she talks. So God almighty said: One man, and two women. So that if one woman forgets, the other one reminds her."
Watch more on the video here.

Of course this is the same man who said that fathers should never be alone with their daughters lest they tempt them into lust, which prompted some to say he needs psychiatric help.

Tahitians Protest Against Mosque and Islam In Papeete

Using the slogan "not racists but realists" between 400 and 500 French Polynesians took to the streets of Papeete, Tahiti in protest of the opening of a mosque, Islam, Shariah, and the Quran. They want Muslims out of their country to preserve their religion (Christianity) and freedom for the generations to come.

This kind of protest wouldn't be happening if Muslims weren't trying to foist their religious demands on others. I feel sorry for those who integrate and keep their religion to themselves, which is as it should be, but far too many don't.

No Music At Weddings- Al-Qaeda In Syria Raids Wedding Party

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)- those lovely al-Qaeda types in control of areas of Syria  fighting to establish an Islamic state over there- are continuing to flex their muscles.  Since they believe that music is haram (forbidden) in Islam, they allegedly raided a wedding party somewhere in the outskirts of Aleppo and forced the band to stop playing.

“One leader of the Islamic State warned residents that if a music band is invited to a wedding again, the person responsible will be arrested because this is immoral,” the newspaper reported, citing an internet page of the Syrian Revolution in Menbej.
The al-Qaeda leader reportedly asked the man in charge of the wedding to memorize a verse of the Quran and attend several religious courses at al-Qaeda’s center in Maskana, near Aleppo.
But here's an interesting twist: Some think that what the al-Qaeda extremist groups are doing is just fueling anti-rebel sentiment, and playing into the hands of the Syrian government, so much so that even Ayman al-Zawahiri (head honcho of al-Qaeda) has told ISIL to disband immediately and let al-Nusra Front represent al-Qaeda in Syria. ISIL is the Syrian faction of the Islamic State in Iraq.  ISI will remain intact, according to Zawahiri.

Honoring Our Brave- Veteran's Day 2013

On this day, I thank not only our Veteran's but those that are serving today. Because of our military we enjoy many freedoms that others do not. We should not take that for granted, nor should we abandon our Vets when they return home, some broken physically and mentally. We need to reach out to them in whatever way we can. Get involved with Veteran's groups, or organizations trying to help. They need us, especially during these trying economic times. And your help doesn't need to be monetary, go visit a soldier at a hospital, help pack a care package for deployed troops. It doesn't take much.

From my heart, I send prayers and thanks to all our soldiers!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

TV Skit Mocks Nasrallah, Protests In Lebanon Ensue

A Lebanese TV skit mocking Hezbollah's head honcho Hassan Nasrallah so enraged his supporters, they did what Muslim extremists do best- flocked to the streets in protest and burned tires. LBC TV's comedy show 'Basmat Watan' has targeted Nasrallah before, and as far as the producer Charbel Khalil is concerned, religious figures are fair game. Since he also happens to be a political figure, others believe there's nothing wrong with mocking him.

This week’s program poked jokes at Hezbollah's role in Syria, with Nasrallah's character lamenting what he said was a late intervention.
"Our weapons should have included planes and submarines," he said.

There is a video news report on this on Al Arabiya.

No sense of humor.

Did Pakistani Jihadists Bring Polio To Syria?

Polio is a devastating, highly infectious disease that spreads and cripples children very quickly, and there is no cure. Vaccinating kids is the only way to stop it from spreading. For the most part, the world has been able to eradicate it. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) there are only three countries where polio is still endemic: Nigeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. I'm not sure about Nigeria, but the reason why it's still a problem in Afghanistan and Pakistan, is because the Taliban- in all their breathtaking ignorance- think immunization is some Western conspiracy to sterilize Muslim children. So they've been systematically attacking and killing polio workers. Back in January, 7 aid workers were killed, including a doctor, and there have been others since. But it's not just the Taliban, two teachers attacked a woman when she came to their house, because they believed the polio vaccine was a plot by the U.S. to cause mental retardation.

Syria had been polio free for 14 years, until now.  And thanks to the Pakistani jihadists who have gone to Syria to fight, polio has come back with a vengeance. 10 under-immunized children, so far, have been paralyzed, and neighbouring countries are running scared. As a result Syria, Lebanon and some other countries in the Middle East are on a mission to vaccinate over 20 million kids. Lebanon has already started its campaign:

“Today was the launching of the polio campaign in Lebanon. Lebanon has been polio-free for almost twelve years and it should stay as it is. Therefore today, together with the ministry of health, we have started the vaccination of more than 750,000 under five children,” UNICEF representative in Lebanon, AnnaMaria Laurini, told Reuters.

Though there is no way to definitively determine if Pakistani fighters are to blame for bringing the virus to North East Syria, the fact that it's only one of three countries where polio is still a problem, and North East Syria is where the rebels have taken hold, it seems more than likely.

Rich Arab To Pay Big Bucks For 'Private' Tutoring In The UK- Females Preferred

A thirty-something-year-old  Arab businessman- currently living in England- and who left school as a teen, is looking to pay some female $200,000 (£122,300) to be his full-time slave..er... tutor for a year, to help him get into Oxford University. And when he says full time, he means full time.

In a classified ad placed in the Times education supplement- but more worthy of placement on Match.com- said 'Arab businessman' expects a lot from potential candidate. She must be "socially and culturally versatile," a native English speaker with teaching knowledge (he wants to speak like a Brit), lead a "healthy lifestyle" and be  in "good physical shape."  She must also be "highly intelligent, erudite, well read" and able to teach him jazz piano, appreciate opera and Shakespeare. She must be willing and able to travel to exotic destinations like the Middle East and Africa- all expenses paid, including: "apartments, hotels and yachts." Yowza.

But here's where the full time comes in: work is from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, and she must spend Fridays and Saturdays with the man. No mention of other 'extra-curricular' activities, but you know that will be expected.

He allegedly wants help with the GCSEs and A Levels, but adds that he is realistic and knows he might not gain admission to Oxford.  In addition:

She must also be able to turn the client into a man whose “Arabic background is no longer evident.” In the lengthy advert, the tutor should also be “constantly researching and planning a culturally rich range of musical and dramatic performance, visits to art galleries and museums, restaurants, sites of historical or contemporary interest,” as part of a “life curriculum.”

Apparently he does not mention the sex of the candidates, but it's quite obvious he's looking for a woman.

Very bizarre.

Sad thing is, some fool is going to go for it and I can't imagine it will end well.

Obamacare Gets Mocked At CMAs By Hosts Paisley and Underwood

Carrie Underwood (in a very bizarre outfit) and Brad Paisley hosted the 2013 Country Music Awards (CMA) and the opening 'dialogue' between the two was quite a doozy. Poking fun at everything from feuding stars, to Miley Cyrus, to Obamacare it's quite entertaining. Check out the reaction in the audience to Paisley and Underwood mocking Obamacare starting at around 3.50, some look a tad shocked that they would dare broach that subject. Although the country music industry has many conservatives in its midst, there are many liberals, as well.

CAIR Files Complaints Against DHL For Firing Muslims Over Prayer Breaks

Council on Islamic-American Relations (CAIR-Cincinnati) has filed complaints against DHL in Hebron, KY for firing Muslims over taking time out to pray after their flextime was changed and they prayed anyway.  24 were fired and CAIR has filed 11 complaints so far with the EEOC. It will sue if nothing is resolved.

Muslims better be careful, they might find themselves unable to get jobs. Pray on your own time, if you want to be gainfully employed.

Saudi Father Of Bride Kills Groom's Brother For Entering 'Women's Hall'

This is what happens when you mix gender segregation, ignorance, and religious fundamentalism: death.

Saudis are so intent on keeping the genders separated, even at weddings, that they apparently have two separate halls, one for males and one for females. In a tragic case, the brother of the groom made the mistake of trying to make his way into the women's hall (along with some other relatives), so when the father of the bride witnessed this, he didn't just tell them to step away:

“He pulled his gun and shot at them.
“The groom’s brother was killed while the killer’s son was injured in exchange of fire between the two sides,” Sabq daily said without making clear if the incident affected the couple’s marriage.

Only Gay Men Play Instruments and Sing, Claims Imam

Here's a good one. Not sure where this young Imam is from, though he looks somewhat familiar, but he explains that the only time music is allowed, per Islam, is during a wedding and EID celebrations. And only young girls (not professional singers) are allowed to play the daff (hand drum). Men are not allowed because the only kind of man that plays an instrument or sings is gay.

Iranians Still Hate Us Lots- Largest Protest Ever On Anniversary Of 1979 US Embassy Takeover

Today was the anniversary of the 1979 US Embassy takeover in Tehran (the highlight of the Iranian revolution) and as they have done every year since, Iranians took to the streets with anti-U.S. placards to show just how much they still hate the "Great Satan".  Protesting in front of the former U.S. Embassy, the largest crowd ever gathered at these annual US bashing demonstrations burned American and Israeli flags, carried effigies of Barack Obama and John Kerry, and shouted "Death To America."  All this in spite of the fact that current President Hassan Rohani is trying to reach out, sort of, to the U.S. and the West, with the blessing, sort of, of Supreme Leader Ali Khameini.

Some of the more moderate elements in Iran asked that the "Death To America" chants be dropped, but hard-liners refused,

...including commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), [who] have rejected those calls and said that the habitual refrain of "Death to America" will remain eternal.

Though Rohani did not attend the rallies taking place in other cities besides Tehran, Said Jalili was there.

Among the main speakers at the rally were former senior nuclear negotiator and defeated presidential candidate, hard-liner Said Jalili, who said the capture of the U.S. Embassy, called "the nest of spies" by some officials, showed that the revolution was on the right path.
Jalili defended the "Death to America" slogan as the slogan of the most "thoughtful and honest" Iranians and added the slogan was not directed against the American people but against its government officials.
He also said that Iranians monolithically support the clerical establishment, the government, and the team in charge of nuclear negotiations.

Still so  many haters out there.

Anti-Snoring Billboard Of Soldier And Niqabi Muslim Wife Causes Stir

A company which makes products to help stop snoring has decided to embrace diversity in its ad campaigns. On the SnoreStop website, along with a middle-aged white couple, there's a gay couple, a lesbian couple, a bi-racial couple, and now it's added a Muslim couple to a billboard placed smack dab in the middle of Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. But it's not just any Muslim couple, it's actually a real life United States soldier embracing his Muslim wife (although in a video on Huffpo it says she's his girlfriend). I don't think he's Muslim, at least not yet, but SnoreStop obviously wasn't satisfied in finding a Muslim couple with a hijab-clad wife, no, she had to be a niqabi, the second most drastic form of Islamic dress, and totally out of place in Western society.

Apparently reaction has been mixed, but not in the way you might think. Many applaud the diversity, some felt they were "misusing the image of servicemen", and still others believe it would be offensive to Muslims. For a change, the Council on American-Islamic Relations seems unfazed and actually rather pleased, for obvious reasons.

“I think that that is a worthy image which is designed to spark debate on the issues of races and religion and ethnicity,” said Ibrahim Hooper, the national communications director for the Council of American-Islamic Relations.

and:

Akbar Ahmed, chair of Islamic studies and professor at American University in Washington DC, said that because the billboard depicted the couple in “a very classic, matrimonial pose,” it was not intended to cause outrage.
Billboards like this are going to get responses,” Ahmed told Al Arabiya News.

One of these billboards will eventually be headed your way.

Tunisia Banned From 2014 Davis Cup After Boycott Of Israeli Player

Politics has no place in the arts or sports, but it happens all the time. Tunisia is finding out the hard way. As of now, Tunisian players have been banned from competing in the 2014 Davis Cup competition after the Tunisian Tennis Federation told its top player Malek Jaziri to not play Israel's Amir Weintraub during a tournament in Tashkent last month.

Although Jaziri was cleared by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the International Tennis Federation (ITF) was not so understanding, and rightfully so.

“The ITF Board of Directors found that the Tunisian Tennis Federation was in breach of the ITF Constitution by interfering with international sporting practice and ordering Tunisian player Malek Jaziri not to compete against Israeli player Amir Weintraub at the 2013 Tashkent Challenger in October."

“The Board was not satisfied with the case put forward by the Tunisian Tennis Federation and voted to suspend Tunisia from the 2014 Davis Cup competition.”
According to ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti:

“There is no room for prejudice of any kind in sport or in society. The ITF Board decided to send a strong message to the Tunisian Tennis Federation that this kind of action will not be tolerated by any of our members.”
Way to go ITF.

Obama Argued Against Healthcare Mandate In 2008 In Debate With Clinton

In his own words- during a presidential debate in 2008 with Hillary Clinton in Ohio- then Senator Barack Obama argues against the healthcare mandate Clinton was pushing whereby individuals were to be fined for not purchasing insurance. This, as we know, is now part of Obama's Affordable Care Act.

Speaking of Clinton's mandate-which Obama claimed was the main difference between their healthcare plans:
"... she would force, in some fashion, individuals to purchase healthcare. If it was not affordable, she would still, presumably, force them to have it unless there is a hardship exemption as they have done in Massatusetts [sic]..."
Yes, he pronounced the "ch" in Massachusetts with a "t". And no, I'm not being petty, but the left skewered George W. Bush for mispronouncing nuclear, so fair is fair.

Pakistani Cleric Rapes 4-Year-Old Girl In Madrassa

Not that pedophiles and rapists don't exist in other religions, but Muslim clerics have a tendency to hold themselves to a higher standard, which  makes their acts of sexual violence even more egregious. Take the head cleric at a Pakistani madrassa who allegedly raped a 4-year-old girl on her first day of school at the seminary, and then fled. He has since been arrested, but the little girl has been hospitalized in critical condition.

The girl’s father, a resident of Nawan Shehr in Mailsi, said in the FIR that he had dropped his daughter at the Shaheedanwala seminary in the neighbourhood.

He said more than 70 children from five nearby villages were enrolled at the seminary.

He said it was the girl’s first day and the chief cleric had asked him to drop her at his office. The father was told that he (cleric) would introduce her to other children.

He said when he went to pick her up at noon, he was told that his daughter was in the chief cleric’s office. The office was locked and the cleric missing. He said he broke into the room and found the child lying unconscious.

She was taken to the district headquarters hospital, where doctors treating her said that her condition was critical. Doctors later said she had undergone a surgery.

Dr Tahira Parveen at the DHQ hospital told The Express Tribune that the girl’s medico-legal examination confirmed rape.
Apparently two other clerics from the same seminary also went missing.

Locals have been protesting, calling for a boycott of all madrassas. They should shut them all down, considering they are also the breeding ground for terrorist and future suicide bombers.

FSA Statue-Smashing Cleric Omar Gharba' s 2012 Interview- Lesson In Contradictions

Omar Gharba' is a Wahhabi cleric with the Free Syrian Army (FSA).  They're supposed to be moderates, and obviously some are- the secular ones who started off fighting for democracy at the beginning of the revolution, but many, like Gharba', are not.  In this 2012 interview Gharba'  talks about establishing an Islamic state. He's full of contradictions, including stating he does not support foreign fighters from a tactical standpoint, but from a Shariah standpoint- bring 'em on. This same man who in 2012 talks about Omar ib al-Khattab not destroying churches when he entered Jerusalem, is recently seen destroying a statute of the Virgin Mary in Idlib. The interviewer keeps questioning Gharba' about what the FSA will do if the majority of the Syrian people want a civil state (after claiming it is better to let people choose), and asks if they will use arms to establish an Islamic state. He never really answers her.
