MP Will Resign If Kuwaiti "Bikini Ban" Approved

Kuwait is looking to ban "nudity" in public places including beaches, swimming pools and hotels. Of course it only applies to women, but tourists and expats alike would be subject to a fine and up to one year in jail if caught. Now we all know when they refer to "nudity' they're not talking buck nekked, they're referring to any clothing deemed too revealing, which means no bikinis or clothing with cleavage for those slutty Western gals.

Not everyone, however, is thrilled about the proposed ban. One mighty brave progressive MP, Nabil al-Fadl, has said he will resign if the Ummah Council approves the ban.

The new proposal, which does not provide a clear definition for the term “nudity,” is an assault on personal freedom, al-Fadl said.

“If approved, I will deliver my resignation as I do not approve of this regression and out of respect for my electorates who voted for my ideas and thoughts,” he added.

The head of the Kuwaiti National Assembly committee who approved the move, MP Hamdan Al-Azemi, said the ban also applies to women at hotels, according to the Kuwait Times.

While the Islamist lawmaker did not provided a definition for the term “nudity,” a few days ago “he issued a statement strongly criticizing women dressed in bikinis at some swimming pools on beaches and in hotels. The term also includes revealing or improper dress,” according to the report.

They tried before to ban bikinis, back in 2011, but it was ruled unconstitutional.

Other Gulf countries are becoming even more conservative, if that's at all possible, including Bahrain which is planning on phasing out the sale of alcohol in that country.

I wonder if the tourism trade will plummet. I still have no clue what the attraction is for Western tourists.

Ahmadi Muslim Doctor Murdered For Being An Apostate

It's not just religious minorities that are considered infidels in Muslim-majority countries, members of Muslim sects like the Ahmadiyya are also considered apostates and subject to persecution and even death.

Qasim Rashid, a spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya community, has written an opinion piece in The Daily Caller about a Pakistani-born Ahmadi Muslim who became a doctor, moved to the U.S., gained citizenship, and was recently murdered while on a humanitarian visit to his homeland. All because he was the wrong kind of Muslim.

Some 50 years before terrorists brutally murdered him because they believed him an infidel, Mehdi Ali Qamar was born a Muslim. But by the age of 10 Pakistan’s government declared him an infidel, an apostate, and in the opinion of many extremist clerics — worthy of death. But that didn’t deter him. By the age of 20 Pakistan’s government declared Qamar a criminal, liable to fine and imprisonment — only because he yet insisted on calling himself a Muslim. But that didn’t deter him. And even when Pakistan’s government added a death for blasphemy provision to the law just a few years later — giving state sanction to the previous ‘worthy of death’ opinion — Mehdi Ali Qamar fearlessly marched forward, undeterred.

And despite that state sanctioned persecution only for his faith, by the age of 30 Mehdi Ali Qamar became Dr. Mehdi Ali Qamar at one of Pakistan’s top medical institutions.

He started a family and brought his expertise in cardiology to the United States by the age of 40 — where he and his wife began raising their three beautiful boys. He arrived to a new country with a new language, new culture, and new demographic. Once again it may have seemed that he was an outsider — but that didn’t deter him. Dr. Qamar embraced American culture and showed by example that he saw no conflict between his faith as a Muslim and identity as an American — ultimately attaining his U.S. citizenship.

Always the servant of humanity, Dr. Mehdi Ali Qamar participated in numerous humanitarian medical missions to provide free cardiac care to the poor and indigent. And though Pakistan treated him so horribly, he held a soft spot for all his fellow Pakistanis, and returned to provide them the healthcare their government couldn’t or wouldn’t. And on one such humanitarian mission on May 26, 2014, to the world leading Tahir Heart Institute in Rabwah, Pakistan, Dr. Mehdi Ali Qamar breathed his last.

At the age of 50, as Dr. Medhi Ali Qamar fearlessly marched forward, militant extremists shot him in the chest and stomach 11 times while his wife and two-year-old son watched in horror.
The rest here.

Iranian Men Post Bizarre Photos In Response To Women Posting Photos Without Hijab

It didn't take long for  Muslim males to respond to those brave Iranian women who have been posting photos of themselves hijab-free on the Facebook page My Stealthy Freedom.  With 374 thousand likes, the page was created by Masih Alinejad, an Iranian journalist living in London, to "give voice" to thousands of women in that country who have no choice in the matter.

Some media sites, including Al Arabiya and Telegraph UK, are claiming that there's been a conservative backlash, and that men have created their own Men's Stealthy Freedom Facebook page where they too are posting photos of themselves. In their case, many of the photos posted are of silly men wearing various makeshift head coverings.

Along with other truly bizarre pics including men picking their noses (who knows what that represents), and a man licking whipped cream off the face of another male. Uhuh. Doesn't look too conservative to me.

Whether it's a mockery of the women or not, and whether the men are conservative or not is difficult to determine, since the page is not in English.  Those pics have to be seen, though.

In protest, there have been several small rallies by those conservatives happy with the compulsory hijab laws.  And conservatives have created another Facebook page: Real Freedom of Iranian Women. Those enlightened souls have no problem demanding freedom to wear hijab, but condemn those who would like the choice not to.  They posted the following:

Members write that the hijab is freeing and women should not be given the right to choose whether to wear it. Others posting on the page say they should be compulsory to protect women's modesty.
In one post, the word rape has been written over the photos of three prominent Iranian journalist who work abroad and appear unveiled in their broadcasts. It was accompanied with a message warning that women who do not wear the hijab are more likely to get raped.

Charming.

Memorial Day 2014

A wonderful, powerful speech by Ronald Reagan fitting for this Memorial Day, 2014.

Remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Sadly, that freedom is being chipped away at by clueless liberals, and a weak, inept leadership.

God Bless our military.

Dem Congressman Blasts Shinseki and Obama Over VA Scandal

What the V.A. has done to our military vets is absolutely unconscionable. The fact that it wasn't just one or two random V.A. hospitals that were fudging records but a whole slew of them nationwide, makes it doubly so.

And it's not just Republicans who are outraged, there are even some Democrats who are equally disgusted with the scandal.  In this video, Congressman David Scott, D-GA, takes the Veterans Administration to task and actually criticizes Barack Obama for his lack of "urgency."  He also wants Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki sacked, and happens to be a co-sponsor of a bill that would allow for that to happen.

We send our troops abroad, put them in harms way, and then deny them prompt medical care when they return stateside?  Putting some on secret lists because of delays in treatment?  So far, 26 hospitals are under investigation, and 40 vets probably died because of those delays  at the Phoenix hospital alone.

When Scott and Republican chair of the House Veteran Affairs committee Jeff Miller paid a visit to the VA hospital in Atlanta, Scott claims they were lied to by administrators regarding suicides.

“And they told a damn lie! Because the very next day it was exposed there was another solider that committed suicide. And they covered it up."
He was also critical of Obama's tepid response to the scandal. And you certainly can't call him racist since Scott is black.

“I listened to the President today, and I was very disappointed with President Obama today,” he said. “There was no urgency. Mr. President, we need urgency, we need you to roll up our sleeves and get into these hospitals!”
Obama refuses to fire Shinseki, and Shinseki refuses to resign.  If the scandal continues to escalate that very well could change.

We owe our vets!

Iran Apoplectic Over Actress' Peck On Cheek At Cannes Festival

A simple peck on the cheek has landed an Iranian actress in a bucket load of trouble. Leila Hatami was photographed at the Cannes Film Festival kissing the cheek of the president of the fest, head covered mind you, and now the Iranian authorities have their panties in a bunch.

Apparently, the ho has ruined the reputation of Iranian women. According to Iran's Deputy Culture Minister Hossein Noushabadi:

“Those who attend intentional events should take heed of the credibility and chastity of Iranians, so that a bad image of Iranian women will not be demonstrated to the world."

But it seems it wasn't just the kiss that was so offensive, he went on to say:

“Iranian woman is the symbol of chastity and innocence,” he said. Hatami's “inappropriate presence” at the festival was “not in line with our religious beliefs.”

Jacob then took to social media to explain exactly what a peck on the cheek means to normal people.

“I kissed Mrs. Hatami on the cheek. At that moment, for me she represented all Iranian cinema, then she became herself again,” Jacob tweeted.
“This controversy over a usual custom in the West has therefore no reason to be.”
Hatami is a judge at this year's festival, and the poor thing has still lives in Iran.

The Ludicrous Liberal P.C. Racist Card- The latest roundup

We are becoming an increasingly overly sensitive, ridiculously p.c. society, and all it takes is for some special interest group or even one individual from the perpetually offended crowd to complain about some ludicrous thing and people immediately cave. No discussion. No fight. It's setting a terrible precedent, and we're at a major risk of losing our freedom.

The complaints usually revolve around something insignificant that someone or some group deems racist or offensive. What these people believe constitutes racism is truly astounding.

Here's a roundup of the most recent incidents.

1. Eating Tacos Is Racist

An on-going annual all-you-can-eat taco sorority fundraiser was labeled racist, and subsequently cancelled.

The event, known as the Pi Phiesta, has been labeled by some radical leftists as offensive due to the fact it includes an all-you-can-eat taco dinner.

In response to the manufactured outrage, the annual function has been completely scrapped at Dartmouth College, while members at Stanford University completely reinvented it.

Though the dinner is a consistent success and has been responsible for raising a significant amount of money for charity, activists nonetheless have expressed outrage over the entrée of choice. These protests coincide with widespread demonstrations on college campuses across the nation regarding Cinco de Mayo celebrations deemed offensive by certain students and groups.

2. The Song "YMCA" Is Racist.

Or at least the Indian costume is.

A performance of the Village People's "YMCA" at Bennett Elementary School in North Dakota was cancelled after one parent complained about it being racist.  In case you've forgotten, or are unfamiliar with the campy late 70s  song,  six men dress up as a cowboy, construction worker, biker, policeman, military man, and American Indian, and strut their stuff.  I'm sure you know which outfit mama took offense to.

Elaine Bolman said:

“I’m not in a position to do anything for these educators, and hopefully those people that are can make the right choices so all students of any culture and race won’t feel singled out or like their race is being stereotyped against.”

All it took was one complaint, and the school caved.

3. Camels Are Racist

Or at least bringing one to a school could be considered racist, because you know camels live in the Middle East, and some Middle Easterner might find it offensive.

Apparently, a student organization at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, had planned on bringing a camel to celebrate "Hump Day"  until some other students said Middle Easterners might be offended, so the whole event was cancelled.

The “Hump Day” event, put on by the Residence Hall Association (RHA), was supposed to be “a petting zoo type of atmosphere” in which students could hang out and take photos with a live camel. According to Aaron Macke, the group’s advisor, the camel is owned by a local vendor and trained for special events.
I suppose we'll have to ship back to the Middle East all the camels in our zoos because maybe, just maybe, some Middle Easterner might find it offensive to see a camel in an American zoo.

And that's just recent incidents.  Remember in 2012 the State Department and NYC Department of Education wanted to ban racist or potentially offensive words and phrases like "Halloween" or "dinosaur" or "holding down the fort". Yes, this is not joke. There were about 50 of them they wanted nixed from our vocabulary.

And last year the word "Easter" was banned from an Easter egg hunt at some elementary school in Alabama. The whole thing was going to be cancelled, but they compromised by removing Easter.

And who can forget the Portland, Oregon school that banned the word  Peanut, Butter and Jelly sandwich because of it's racist connotations.  Go figure.

Moveon.org wanted the word illegal to be banned.

And there was the NYC school principal who wanted to ban a kiddies performance of "God Bless The USA."

And last but not least, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and p.c. liberal tools want to sugarcoat references to Islam in the "The Rise of Al-Qaeda" documentary that is showing at the recently opened 9/11 Museum in New York. CAIR is lobbying hard for changes to the video, believing that Muslims will be offended by some of the "stereotypical and stigmatizing terminology" like "Islamist extremism" and "jihadism."

These terms, particularly the generalizing manner in which the film uses them, conflate Islam and terrorism and carry the risk of misinforming museum visitors, particularly those unfamiliar with Islam.
It just so happens that the bulk of global terrorism these days happens to be rooted in Islam, and you'd have to have been living on another planet not to be familiar with Islam.

In a statement, CAIR-NY Board Member Zead Ramadan said: "After repeated requests to correct misrepresentations, the film ignorantly implies a religion, rather than a group of criminals, was to blame for the September 11 attacks. Instead of unifying all Americans against evil-doers, this film continues to offensively cast suspicion on faith rather address the terrorist act."
Criminals?  Whether they like it or not, those "criminals" and the "criminals" anywhere there happens to be an ongoing battle with extremists, those battles are firmly rooted in that religion. In Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria and elsewhere, those militants are fighting to establish Sharia law. That IS faith.  No-one is saying that all Muslims are extremists, but what the heck else are we to call those who are?

Joke of the day: Wacky Idaho GOP Gubernatorial Debate

Idaho Republicans just had their gubernatorial primary debate with a wildly amusing, colorful cast of characters you'd be hard put to find at Central Casting.

There was incumbent Governor Butch Otter versus Senator Russ Fulcher, along with wacky "curmudgeon" Walt Bayes and "biker" Harley Brown.

Someone put together a supercut of the highlights of the almost 60 minutes worth of debate that you can watch here.  The Dailycaller says the best of it starts at the 20 minute mark and continues until the end, and it's true. The reactions of Otter and Fulcher are priceless.  The whole thing is surreal.

Brown concluded with:
“You have your choice, folks: A cowboy, a curmudgeon, a biker, or a normal guy,”
That will be remembered forever.

No-one is totally clear on who he was referring to as the normal guy or the cowboy.

If I didn't know this was real, I would have thought it was some skit on SNL.

Boko Haram Not Muslim, Claims U.S. Ambassador Robert Jackson

At a recent Senate hearing on the ongoing terror activity in Nigeria, Ambassador Robert Jackson, deputy assistant secretary of state for African Affairs, claimed "Boko Haram is portraying its philosophy as being a Muslim philosophy, and that's just not accurate."

Really?  Let's see, they believe in Mohammed and Allah, read the Quran, and are trying to establish an uber-strict form of Sharia law in Nigeria. Doesn't sound like Hinduism to me. Or Buddhism. Or Judaism or Christianity. Hello, Ambassador Jackson, if it quacks like a duck. Oh, and Al-Shabaab, and the Taliban and al-Qaeda all believe the same thing.  They're all Muslims because they consider themselves to be, and because they follow the tenets of that religion. It would be like claiming the Westboro Baptists aren't Christians.  They might not be what we expect of Christians, they're almost as evil a bunch as Boko Haram, but they believe in Christ, so they are.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio took on Jackson during the hearing.

“Is the prime motivator here of this instance, in your opinion — is the prime motivator the desire to deny young women access to education and empowerment?” Rubio asked.

“Senator, I actually think the prime motivator is to raise more funds for Boko Haram through ransom,” Jackson replied. “However, the fact that Boko Haram opposes Western education is certainly a reason why these girls were targeted.”

“Can I suggest that I think there’s another motivation that’s not getting nearly enough attention, and that is that this is clearly motivated by an anti-Christian attitude of this group,” Rubio continued, citing “a grotesque statement” from Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau: “It is either you are with jahideen, or you’re with the Christians. We know what is happening in this world. It is a jihad war against Christians and Christianity. It is a war against Western education, democracy and constitution… This is what I know in Quran. This is a war against Christians and democracy and their constitution. Allah says we should finish them when we get them.”

“I don’t think there’s any doubt about what’s motivating them,” Rubio said. “One of their leading motivators here is this is not simply — and there’s no doubt that this is a part of it, but this is not just about girls going to school and it’s not just about raising money. There is a strong anti-Christian element of this organization and of this activity. Am I right in saying that?”

“Senator, there is a strong anti-Christian element, but I would offer that more of the thousands of people who have died as a result of Boko Haram’s activities are Muslim than Christian,” Jackson said.
Rubio stressed “we should not ignore the fact that there is a religious persecution aspect of this that is very significant and deserves attention, especially in light of what we are seeing not just in this part of the world but multiple areas of the world, where we are seeing horrifying instances of religious persecution against Christians, which, in my opinion, has been underreported.”

“Senator, I respectfully suggest while anti-Christian sentiment is a strong motivator, the fact of the matter is that Boko Haram is trying to portray its philosophy as being a Muslim philosophy, and that’s just not accurate,” Jackson said.

“I’m not claiming that this is somehow driven by legitimate teachings of Islam. What I’m arguing is that there is a strong anti-Christian element to this and that it is part of a broader anti-Christian persecution that we are seeing repeatedly throughout the world. Would you disagree with that statement?” the senator asked.

“I do not disagree, but I continue to want to emphasize that Boko Haram terrorizes all people,” the State Department official responded.

Jackson said about 85 percent of the more than 200 teens taken from the Chibok secondary school are Christian. Nigeria’s population includes about about 60 million Protestants and 20 million Catholics, according to Pew.

Rubio stressed that a crime against Muslims “is no less worse or less bad than a crime against Christians.”

“What I’m trying to put aside — what I’m trying to put forward here is that we cannot continue to ignore that persecution of Christians is a leading motivator not just of what’s happening in Boko Haram but in other parts of the world, as well, but in this specific instance, they are clearly motivated by anti-Christian attitudes and anti-Christian beliefs,” he said. “And I don’t think that’s even debatable, given their very own statement.”
Rubio was referring to a video statement by Shekau  that the schoolgirls had converted to Islam.

Christian Sudanese Woman Sentenced To Death For Apostasy

27-year-old Meriam Yehya Ibrahim was raised a Christian, but because her father (who abandoned the family when Meriam was a kid) happens to be Muslim, she is considered a Muslim as well. Meriam, who is 8 months pregnant and married to a Christian, has now been convicted of adultery and apostasy, and was sentenced to death by a Sudanese court. She's to get 100 lashes for good measure, for the adultery.

Ibrahim's lawyer Haram Othman told CNN that her legal team will appeal the verdict within 15 days.
According to the rights group Amnesty International, she was convicted of adultery because her marriage to a Christian man was considered void under Sharia law. She was sentenced to 100 lashes for the second crime.

"The verdict is contrary to commitments Sudan has made in its own Constitution and commitments made under regional and international law; Meriam has been convicted solely on account of her religious convictions and personal status," said Katherine Perks with the African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies.

"The fact that a woman could be sentenced to death for her religious choice, and to flogging for being married to a man of an allegedly different religion, is abhorrent and should never be even considered," Manar Idriss, Amnesty International's Sudan researcher, said in a statement.

" 'Adultery' and 'apostasy' are acts which should not be considered crimes at all, let alone meet the international standard of 'most serious crimes' in relation to the death penalty. It is a flagrant breach of international human rights law," the researcher said.

Ibrahim is eight months pregnant and is in custody with her 20-month-old son, according to Amnesty International, which considers her a prisoner of conscience.
This is Islam and Sharia for you.

The Decadent, Hedonistic Lives Of The Sultan Of Brunei And His Bro Prince Jefri

The Sultan of Brunei, who just instituted uber strict Sharia law for his country- which then prompted a celebrity boycott of his L.A. hotels- is a prime example of "do as I say, not as I do."

As per Sharia, the citizens of Brunei (both Muslim and infidels alike) may be subject to fines, jail time, public lashings, amputation of limbs and death by stoning for the following:

.. absence from Friday prayer services; becoming pregnant out of wedlock; wearing indecent clothing, and for women, refusal to wear a hijab; employing a non-Muslim baby sitter; the use of the word “Allah” by Christians and the discussion of faith by any non-Muslims; publicly eating or drinking during Ramadan; theft; homosexuality; and adultery.
Granted it's the New York Post, but there's an interesting article about just how un-Islamic the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his brother Prince Jefri are.

One religious scholar, Reza Aslan, claims the turn towards Sharia has nothing to do with "religious devotion, since the Sultan himself is in violation of every single rule of Sharia law you could possibly imagine.”

Decadent, hedonists, are just some of the words used to describe the two men.

Indeed, the Sultan and his equally decadent brother, Prince Jefri, were dubbed “constant companions in hedonism” in 2011 by Vanity Fair. He lives in a palace with 1,788 rooms, 257 bathrooms, five swimming pools, a mosque, a banquet hall that holds 5,000 people and a 110-car garage. When he turned 50, the Sultan built a stadium, invited Michael Jackson to perform in it and paid him $17 million for three concerts.
Jefri, 59, maintains a separate pleasure palace and once owned a 152-foot yacht called Tits; he named its tenders Nipple 1 and Nipple 2, and could never understand why others often found that juvenile and crass. Here and abroad, the brothers are infamous for their sex parties and their harems composed mainly of underage girls."

Typically hypocritical.

Joke of The Day: Compilation of Al Sharpton's Mispronunciation Of English Words

Your laugh for the day.

I give you Al Sharpton. Butchering the English language.

And they used to poke fun of Dan Quayle and Bush for some of their mispronunciations.

Blogger Claims Boycott Of Beverly Hills Hotel Hurts Wrong People

I don't know where Lynda Bekore stands on the political spectrum (I'm assuming she's a liberal), but she just wrote an article for the Huffington Post condemning the calls for a boycott of the Sharia-loving Sultan of Brunei owned Bel Air and Beverly Hills Hotel as hurting the wrong people.

The legendary Beverly Hills Hotel has seen a surge in cancellations of bookings and denouncements on social media, as Hollywood celebrities, moguls and others declare a boycott against the home of the famed Polo Lounge and its sister luxury hotel, the Bel Air, run by the Dorchester Collection.

The company is owned by the Sultan of Brunei, who recently announced that the country he rules would follow strict Sharia law regarding homosexuality and adultery, both punishable by death by stoning, as well as other crimes with harsh penalties. LGBT activists and advocates have called on Hollywood power-players, celebrities, moguls and the public to boycott the hotel, so as not to support the Sultan's repugnant announcement. Celebrities from Jay Leno to moguls like Richard Branson have organized protests or vowed not to solicit the hotels, and have called for public boycotts.

They're right to shout out about it. To Westerners, and even to many Muslims, the very strict interpretations of Sharia law such as stoning to death is abhorrent. If we've learned nothing else from the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, or the massacre of 1.5 million Armenians by the Turks, or the genocide of half a million Sudanese in Darfur, we've surely learned the fatal danger of remaining silent against something we find universally horrifying. And certainly as Americans and promulgators of democratic values and the basic tenets of free speech, you could even say we have a responsibility to speak up for those who cannot protest themselves.

Boycotting a hotel, however, is very different from protesting its owner. Who are you hurting when you cancel events, or urge your clients, your fans, or employees not to do business at the hotel? You're hurting the workers, who are American, not Brunei citizens, have no say in the laws of a foreign ruler, and are just trying to make a living. They are the most vulnerable to the strings that get pulled by those more powerful than they are, whether it's their boss, their company owners, or well-meaning activists who can effectively put them out of their jobs.

[snip]

Boycotts of mid-sized establishments like the Beverly Hills Hotel inevitably hurt the innocent, and it's a pretty safe bet that most of those 1,000 workers didn't even know who owned their hotel until last week, let alone what a Sultan of Brunei was. So why punish them?

The hundreds of housekeepers, cooks, bartenders, and valets just wanted jobs, and especially the tips that supplemented them. Taking away some hotel bookings from a man who thinks nothing of covering his Rolls Royce in 24 karat gold isn't going to hurt him, but it sure is going to hurt them, and many might not ever recover.

The rest here.

Although I do agree that boycotts often adversely affect the wrong people, I have to wonder if she felt the same about the boycotting of Chik-fil-As, which are franchised operations. I doubt it.

Egyptian Cleric- U.S. Trying To Divide Islamic World Per Evil Bernard Lewis Plan

More Egyptian anti-Semitism.

Egyptian cleric Mustafa al-Aqsari (can't find him on google, though the name might have been misspelled)  talks about the Jews being eternal enemies of the Muslims. "Judgement day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews."  War with the Jews has been raging from the time of Mohammed, and will continue until Judgement day.

He then likens Bernard Lewis to a modern day Huyayy Ibn Akhtab, a Jewish leader in pre-Islamic Arabia who opposed Mohammed, and was eventually beheaded.

Brit born Lewis is a scholar of Orientalism and Islamic Studies, who also happens to be a Jew and a naturalized U.S. citizen. He was also an advisor to both Presidents George W and George H Bush.

Al-Aqsari claims that Lewis "combines all that is evil."  Ideologically a Zionist, a Jew and an American citizen. And that he is responsible for "the plan to divide the Islamic world into mini-states," that the U.S. is implementing.

There's an interesting article on American Thinker critical of Lewis for his belief that Islam is compatible with a democratic world.

Note, he talks about all Jews.

Jihadist Groups Killing Each Other In Syria- Thousands of Civilians Flee

Here's some good news out of Syria: the various al-Qaeda affiliated jihadist groups are turning on each other. Fighting has escalated in Deir Ezzor province in the East between Al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) resulting in the death of around 230 fighters.

100,000 or so civilians have had to flee because of the fighting, but hopefully the militants will off each other and leave the civilians in peace.

Turkish Killer Of Wife and Then A Lover Looking For Love

62-year-old Sefer Çalınak (a Turkish man) killed his wife and then a lover. For both those murders (at different times of his life) he spent a paltry 14 years in jail. But now he claims he's a changed man, ready and looking for love, and promises he won't kill again.

The 62-year-old Sefer Çalınak shocked viewers when he appeared on a TV program called “Ne Çıkarsa Bahtına,” or “The Luck of the Draw,” this week, saying that women should not be afraid of him because he had learned from his past mistakes and he was ready for a new beginning, Hurriyet Daily News reported Friday.

Çalınak casually admitted that he had killed his previous wife and lover, adding that he was now an “honest person looking for a new wife.”

“Women left me after I told them that I murdered my previous two wives. That’s why I openly told them. I spent 14 years in prison. I have changed my ways,” he told the local daily HaberTürk.

“The woman who will marry me should not be afraid of me killing her,” he added.
Jealousy prompted him to kill his first wife, Fadime, who also happened to be his cousin. They married when they were both 17. He explains why he murdered her.

“Her behavior changed. The nephew of a man who wanted to marry her started to come to our village. I was jealous and I killed her."
“I served my sentence. I was released after four years and six months with amnesty, despite being given a 13-year, nine-month jail term in the first place.”
He murdered the second woman with an axe, spent some time in jail, but was also released early. Apparently she was married, but had promised to leave her hubby for Ã‡alınak.

“I killed her after she attempted to kill me. She was accidentally killed when I swung an axe,” he explained.
Gotta love that excuse. And you know that if it had been the reverse, the woman would have spent much longer in jail.

German Muslim Convert Preacher Plans A Celebration For Osama Bin Laden

Idiot of the day. Or rather idiots.  Pierre Vogel aka Abu Hamza is a German Muslim convert- a former prize boxer-turned-preacher. But he didn't just convert to Islam, he turned to Salafism, the most extreme forms of Islam.

Role of women in society?  Not his concern, after all his wife wears a niqab.

In the Spiegel video below we see that 1,100 or so mostly male Islamists have followed him to Hamburg where his goal is to convert infidels, and he manages to do quite well at it. We get to see some fool of a woman convert, and the reporters talk with a newly converted young male. When asked if he finds the teachings of vogel to be compatible with democracy, someone in the background tells him not to answer, and the kid walks away. As the reporter asks if he's not allowed to respond, two aggressive Islamists pipe in with "he is allowed, but doesn't have to."

Reporter: "You have just sent him away."
Islamist: "We don't force him."

It's quite obvious they had.

When asked what will happen to those who change their mind about converting.

"The punishment, if one dies as a non-Muslim, is: one goes to hell."

Even though Vogel publicly rejects violence and terror, claiming to be a 'peace activist', the dude is planning a remembrance celebration for Osama Bin Laden.

Palestinian TV Show Encourages Killing Jews

Palestinian kiddies TV show "Pioneers of Tomorrow" on Al-Aqsa TV in Gaza, encourages the killing of Jews and Zionists. This is a recent episode.

Fatwa Bans Saudis From Traveling Abroad To "The Land Of Infidelity"

"God does not love" Muslims living alongside "infidels", so Saudi preacher Sheikh Abdullah al-Suwailem has issued a fatwa banning Saudis from travelling outside the country, unless they really, really have to.
“Travelling abroad is forbidden in Sharia except in cases of necessity and with conditions."
because
"..whoever dies in the land of infidelity could go to hell."
Muslim countries are "less undesirable."

Those conditions he talks about?

The traveler must be "a strong believer" with religious "immunity", so they don't give in to "desires", like alcohol.
“Whoever fears for himself falling for what is forbidden, such as drinking alcohol, should not travel except in the case of necessity,” he added.
And studying or doing business abroad in "the land of infidelity" is also a no-no unless "in extreme necessity."

Apparently Al-Suwailem helps rehabilitate al-Qaeda prisoners held In Saudi jails. Maybe some of that extremism is rubbing off on him. In fact, Saudi columnist Badria al-Bishr called al-Suwailem's fatwa "extremist bacteria." And former head of the religious police Sheikh Ahmed Bin Qassim al-Ghamdi, quoting from the Quran,  believes that "travel broadens one's mind"  and has "many advantages for all."

Actually, this might be a Godsend for the West, after all the majority of the 9/11 terrorists were Saudi.

By all means, stay at home.

Celebs Boycotting The Beverly Hills Hotel Owned By Sharia-Loving Sultan Of Brunei

Who knew the Sultan of Brunei owned the snazzy, celebrity-faved Beverly Hills Hotel and the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.  In fact, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah owns the whole Dorchester Hotels collection which both those hotels are a part of.  The Sultan, if you will recall, is the dude who is bringing back the 'death by stoning' part of Shariah law for homosexuality, adultery, extramarital relations, blasphemy, apostasy, murder, robbery and rape. One third of the people in Brunei are non-Muslims, but most of those laws will apply to them, as well.

Some of the other draconian laws the people of Brunei will be subjected to:

From Thursday, Brunei citizens can be fined or jailed by Islamic courts for offenses like not performing Friday prayers, pregnancy out of wedlock, propagating other religions and indecent behavior. More severe punishments -- flogging, amputation of limbs and stoning --for offenses such as theft, adultery and sodomy will be introduced in phases over the next two years.

As a result, Richard Branson of Virgin Group, along with some other celebs, has decided to boycott all Dorchester hotels:

"No @Virgin employee, nor our family, will stay at Dorchester Hotels until the Sultan abides by basic human rights."

Yeah, good luck with that. I can't imagine the Sultan is going to give a damn about some Western infidels boycotting his hotels, but the intentions are good. Maybe if enough people jumped on the bandwagon, hello Emma Thompson and you Boycott Israel types, to hurt the Sultan's bottom line he might relent, but I doubt either will.

Besides Branson, there have been organizations pulling scheduled events out of the hotel after the Human Rights Campaign urged them to do so.

On Sunday, the Independent School Alliance for Minority Affairs pledged to move its awards event for the Impact Awards from the Beverly Hills Hotel to another location.
“[W]e cannot, in good conscience, support an entity that is controlled by an individual whose beliefs are in direct contradiction to ours," said the group's executive director, Keishia Kemp.
and

On April 30, the Feminist Majority Foundation similarly moved its Jay Leno co-chaired Global Women's Rights Awards in protest. And on April 26, a small group protested at the Beverly Hills Hotel location to raise awareness.

Other boycotting celebs:

Sharon Osbourne, Ellen DeGeneres, Brian Atwood and Peter Som are among those in the industry who have used social media to protest.

The Motion Picture and Television Fund is pulling out for their 2015 event, and Jay Leno and his wife joined a small group of protesters at the hotel.

The Beverly Hills Hotel response:

"We continue to abide by the laws of the countries we operate in and do not tolerate any form of discrimination of any kind." [snip] "The laws that exist in other countries outside of where Dorchester Collection operates do not affect the policies that govern how we run our hotels."

Not good enough. But I predict the boycott will never get off the ground, and after a few months it will all be forgotten. Meanwhile, the A-List celebs will continue to boycott Israel.

Female 'Marriage Mediator" Gets Jail And Lashes In Saudi Arabia

"Temporary marriages" are popular in the Muslim world as a means of legitimizing sexual relations between men and women in the eyes of Allah. It really is nothing more than a form of prostitution, but heck, they don't see it that way. Most, anyway. In Saudi Arabia, however, a foreign woman who was allowing meetings between men and woman on her premises, and claiming she was arranging misya marriages, has been handed a 6 month jail sentence, 50 lashes, and will be deported when released. She was charged with "immoral and unlawful activities and acting as a pimp."

She wasn't the only one arrested and sentenced to jail time.

Three other women were arrested at her house were also sentenced. One of the women was found to be in possession of hashish.

All three were sentenced to four months in prison and 50 lashes because they agreed to meet men for marriage without the presence of their male guardians. According to Saudi law, women are not allowed to marry without a legal marriage contract and they also cannot meet strange men even for discussing a marriage relationship.

They were caught after someone tipped off the police about the woman's little business venture.

A police officer called the woman mediator and claimed that he wanted to marry two women at the same time.

The mediator allegedly told him that she could accommodate his request, even if he wanted three women at the same time.

She then gave him the number of another marriage mediator who asked him to visit her house to see the women.

When he arrived at her house, she brought four women for him to choose from and told him that their dowry was between SR15,000 and SR20,000. Her commission was SR1,000 for each woman. The officer then signaled a security team waiting outside and they arrested everyone.

One of the women was married and was a legal resident, while the other women were illegals.
It's hard to tell if they were arrested simply because there was gender mixing, which is illegal in backwards Saudi Arabia, because temporary marriages are sanctioned under Islam, or whether she really was acting as a pimp for a bunch of prostitutes.

Fatah Official Says To "Liberate" Jerusalem Soak The Land With Blood Of Palestinians

On December 19, 2013, broadcast on offical PA TV at a World Teachers' Day event in Bethlehem, Fatah member Tawfiq Tirawi told the audience:

"I say, from a position of responsibility, not a centimeter of Jerusalem will be liberated unless every grain of Palestinian soil is soaked in the blood of its brave people. For Jerusalem doesn't need negotiations, because negotiations will not bring Jerusalem back to us. What will bring back Jerusalem are the struggle and the resolve... We have conducted negotiations, while not laying down the rifle. It [the rifle] may be resting but we will not neglect our principles. We will rest the fighter's rest, but each period has its method of struggle. From fighting to Intifada, to popular resistance, to negotiations -- but we will not abandon [our principles] -- not in negotiations and not in any other way. I say, from a position of responsibility, the negotiations resulted in nothing except for the [release of the] prisoners."
"Bring Jerusalem back to us." I think someone needs to give the Palestinians a history lesson. The Jews and Christians were there before the Muslims.

And Fatah members are supposedly the moderate faction of the Palestinian people.

Can you see why there will never be peace in that region. At least in my lifetime.

Black Conservative Blasts Black Dem Congressman For Calling Clarence Thomas An "Uncle Tom"

Kevin Martin, a black conservative, has blasted black Congressman Bennie Thompson- a Mississippi Democrat- for calling conservative Supreme Justice Clarence Thomas an "Uncle Tom" who has failed to stand up for his fellow black Americans. But that's not the only thing Thompson claimed during an interview on CNN after he was questioned about making the comment on a Nation of Islam radio show.

He also continued to suggest that U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell opposes President Obama because he is black.
In fact, he believes anyone who opposes Obama does so because of the color of his skin.

Martin belongs to a conservative black leadership network called Project 21.

Martin recalls that a black congressman once candidly remarked that blacks would be marching around the White House, if President Obama was white, over unemployment in the black community.
"So why does this guy get a free pass from you and yet Clarence Thomas, who is a judge who is supposed to rule on the merits of the law and not include personal feelings in it – why does he get castigated but President Obama gets a free pass," Martin complains.

Joke of the day: Bangladeshi Rapist Claims Deportation Violates His Human Rights

So 47-year-old Mohammed Hasan gets a 16-year-old British girl drunk on vodka, rapes her in his car while she's unconscious, serves 3 years of a six-year jail sentence, and now the U.K. apparently wants to deport him. But Mo says deporting him is a violation of his human rights, because he doesn't want to go. You see he likes his "peaceful life," and his wife refuses to accompany her rapist hubby to Bangladesh. Besides, she wants to raise the kids in England.

The tribunal in Bradford heard Hasan, of Scarborough, North Yorks, raped the girl in his car before dumping her “like a piece of meat” on the pavement. The tribunal judgement was reserved.

Violation of his human rights?

Ha.
