Snopes Caught Lying For Hillary Clinton

The first thing we do when we want to fact check some story making the Internet rounds is check various sources like Snopes,  the "definitive Internet reference source for urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors, and misinformation," or so the owners claim.  They claim they are non-partisan and unbiased, but are they?

According to Your News Wire: Snopes lies, in favor of  liberals.

Snopes has been caught lying again, proving that it has a political and partisan agenda and it is willing to mislead and deceive its readers in order to advance the cause of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party establishment.

Earlier this year Correct the Record, a pro-Clinton Super PAC, admitted they are spending millions of dollars to employ an army of trolls to “correct” and “push back” against internet users who criticize Clinton.

Correct The Record’s “Barrier Breakers” project admitted in a press release that it pays people to pretend to be Clinton supporters, and claims that thousands of unsuspecting social media users have already been “addressed” by the PAC’s mercenary social media warriors – with the promise that many more will be “corrected” in the near future.

Given that Snopes entered the political fact checking game around the same time, and began publishing more political articles than ever before – most of which display a clear Clinton bias – it is legitimate to ask if Snopes is also on the Correct The Record payroll.

Ethics Alarms has been tracking the increasing political bias exhibited by Snopes, once the definitive “Urban Legends” web source to identify false stories on the internet, e-mail hoaxes and other pollution of public information.

The rest here.

Bulgaria To Ban The Burqa

Bulgaria has joined several other European countries in banning the burqa or any other full face covering for anyone out in public. If women don't comply they face a hefty fine and loss of their benefits.

The Bulgarian parliament approved the law, backed by the nationalist Patriotic Front coalition. The party’s co-leader Krasimir Karakachanov said the law would improve security, saying: “the burqa is more a uniform than a religious symbol”.

Women who break the law will face fines of up to €770 or £665, as well as a suspension of social security benefits.

The law, however, has its many detractors.

[snip] the Movement for Rights and Freedoms party, which opposed the bill, walked out of the chamber in protest.

In a statement, Amnesty International UK condemned the ban. John Dalhuisen, Europe Director of the human rights organisation, said: “Women in Bulgaria should be free to dress as they please and to wear the burqa or the niqab as an expression of their identity or beliefs. This ban violates their rights to freedom of expression and religion.

“This law is part of a disturbing trend of intolerance, xenophobia and racism in Bulgaria.

“Legitimate security concerns can be met with targeted restrictions on the complete covering of the face in well-defined high-risk locations and not through a blanket discriminatory ban such as this.”
Interesting to note, most of the other countries that have imposed a similar ban- Belgium, France and the Netherlands- have a large Muslim population, many of whom refuse to integrate. Of the 7.1 million people who live in Bulgaria, 10 percent are Muslim. No doubt, that percentage will increase.

They have their reasons for banning:

Earlier this year, head of the Bulgarian city Pazardjik Rumen Kozhuharov said: “The main thing that motivated and catalysed this [discussions about banning face veils] were the terrorist attacks that happened in European countries and the increasing flow of migrants who entered the country in the past few years.”

Banning a symbol of political Islam, is not xenophobic, racist or intolerant. It's survival. It's not like they're banning the hijab. Full face coverings have no place in modern Western civilization.

Iran Will Force Female Chess Players To Wear Hijabs At 2017 World Championships

In March 2017, Iran is hosting the Women's World Championship of Chess, and the female players are being forced to wear the hijab if they want to compete.

What I'd like to know is why the heck are we honoring a country that oppresses women, with a world Chess championship? A country that executes homosexuals and child criminals? A country that will arbitrarily arrest and jail foreigners without reason, and sometimes execute them?

Chess’ governing body, FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Échecs), has come under criticism for its decision to host the tournament in Iran and was accused of failing to stand up for women’s rights.

English chess champion Nigel Short tweeted that the FIDE was flouting its own statutes against sex and religious discrimination.

The body’s Commission for Women’s Chess defended the move, calling on participants to respect “cultural differences”.

Apparently, there are some competitors who are saying they will boycott:

US Women’s Champion Nazi Paikidze also expressed her frustration that she would “have to miss her first Women’s World Championship for many reasons” and tweeted a link to the US State Department’s warning about American citizens still being at heightened risk of arrest.
The Georgian-born champion told The Daily Telegraph: "It is absolutely unacceptable to host one of the most important women's tournaments in a venue where, to this day, women are forced to cover up with a hijab.
"I understand and respect cultural differences. But, failing to comply can lead to imprisonment and women's rights are being severely restricted in general.
"It does not feel safe for women from around the world to play here.”
She said she felt “honoured” to qualify for the event but that she was unlikely to attend.

Carla Heredia, from Ecuador agrees.

The former Pan American champion, Ecuadorian Carla Heredia, agreed with Ms Paikidze, telling the newspaper: “No institution, no government, nor a Women's World Chess Championship should force women to wear or to take out a hijab”.

But there are others who don't have a problem with being forced to wear a headscarf.

.. Hungarian Grandmaster Susan Polgar said in a statement that she would have “no issues with wearing a headscarf as long as it is the same for all players”.
She said: “When I visited different places with different cultures, I like to show my respect by dressing up in their traditional style of clothing . No one asked me to do it. I just do it out of respect.”

Perhaps we should force hijab-wearing women coming to the U.S. to remove their head coverings because it doesn't jibe with our Western culture.

Shame on the FIDE for even thinking of holding the competition in Tehran!
