The Truth
Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, the next two sentences really say it all:* If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence.
* If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel.

The Truth about Israel and the Arab World
Received this via email a while back. I know it's been floating around for years but there is great truth to it:
Wow! You are so right - those 2 statements sum up the entire Middle East tensions! I had not heard or seen that before.
ReplyDeleteVery true, wow, that says it all!!
ReplyDeleteWell said.
ReplyDeleteAh, truth is often so clear to those who would hear it.
ReplyDeleteI still would like them both put down their weapons at the same time.
ReplyDeleteamen, an unaccepted truth by israeli opposition!!!!
ReplyDeleteyes Golda Meir...very famous Incog and bears repetition!! thanks !
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely spot on!
ReplyDeleteOn Dr Sanity's blog had a discussion recently that the Palestian question is artificially kept alive by the Arabs. If there were peace, something actually would have to change in the Middle East, and nobody wants that, least of all the despots running the place. They wouldn't know what to do!
Btw Atlas Shrugs is predicting a major attack coming Monday.
God bless you, gals!
Yes tyrants need the populace kept in fear and ignorance in order to maintain power. Funny how Islam is ideal for that.
ReplyDeleteThese statements oversimplify a situation in which there are numerous moral failings on all sides.
ReplyDeleteBoth statements also dodge the issue of the Palestinians.
Had been trying to track down who said this. Someone attributed it to Netanyahu, but ccouldn't find anything else. Thanks Angel.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if both did, simultaneously, Lizze, but considering Israel is such a tiny slice of land surrounded by Arab countries that all want Israel destroyed, including Abbas' Fatah party, it would be suicide for the Israelis to do that. Considering the Arabs have, for the most part, been the aggressors, it is up to them to make the overtures of peace. The Israelis just want their small piece of land. They would have no problems living in peace if the Arabs didn't keep sending their people over there to blow the Israelis up.
The problem, Cassandra, is they don't want peace. Never have, never will. It's not in keeping with the Koran. In their minds Israel shouldn't exist, so why would they want peace.
And yeah, BCF, poverty and ignorance makes for great martyrs. They don't need much of an army, in that way.
E.R. DUNHILL: Not oversimplification at all, as I've mentioned above.
These two sentences do not merely clarify but comprehensively illuminate ones contemplation about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
ReplyDeleteIt is true, unequivocally so.
As an appendage, I have enjoyed mulling around your blog and shall visit again.
Truth is a light...
ReplyDeleteA.I. It illuminates the whole Arab/Israel problem.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks, I will look forward to it.
PAN: Indeed it is!!
