Home Depot Gets Muslim Sensitivity Training From CAIR In Dearborn, Michigan Store

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is now conducting 'cultural awareness training" to companies like Home Depot.  Yes, indeed, they provided training to a Home Depot in Dearborn, Michigan recently. Granted, Dearborn, Michigan could be considered the Muslim capital of the United States, housing the largest Mosque in North America, but why have they not assimilated into American culture? Should other religions follow suit?  How about Hindu or Buddhist awareness sessions.

From their website:

The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations yesterday provided cultural awareness training to employees at a Home Depot store in Dearborn, Mich.

CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid and CAIR-MI Safe Spaces Coordinator Warda Kalim discussed issues relating to customer interactions and modesty in Islam and highlighted religious accommodations concerns of Muslim employees.

CAIR-MI has provided similar trainings in the past to other Home Depot locations in Southeastern Michigan.

"We welcome such opportunities to engage Home Depot and other business establishments to better serve their Muslim customers and accommodate the cultural competency of their Muslim employees," said CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid.

CAIR has helped resolve a number of similar cases involving prayer in the workplace and offers a booklet, called "An Employer's Guide to Islamic Religious Practices," to help corporate managers gain a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.

There is even a link to that detailed employer's guide to Islamic religious practices, which includes information on religious holidays, food, clothing, demeanour , and prayer. It's worth a peek. They're demanding a bucket load of concessions. And it's only going to get worse.

No Tacos Or Tequila For Gringo Northwestern Students On Cinco De Mayo

Here's one for the 'what next' file.

Northwestern University students were told how to celebrate Cinco De Mayo this year: no tacos,  tequila or sombreros, because it “offends, marginalizes, and isolates many of our friends, classmates, and community members, and casts our entire community in poor light.”

That demand came from several sources including an Hispanic student organization.

A Latino student group, Alianza, and the school’s Associated Student Government (ASG) sent a letter to students warning them to be “respectful” in celebrating Cinco de Mayo, an occasion in which Mexico commemorates its defeat of French forces on May 5, 1862, in the Battle of Puebla. In the U.S. it is seen as a celebration of Mexican pride and freedom.

Alianza held a Cinco de Mayo celebration Saturday by roasting marshmallows.

“Unfortunately, instead of partaking in these cultural celebrations and enriching their Northwestern experiences, some of our peers choose to throw ‘Mexican-themed’ parties that are culturally insensitive, offensive, and detrimental to the Northwestern community,” the letter said.
However, international students at the Illinois University who actually hail from Mexico did not share those same sentiments.

“I’d like to say that I proudly embrace my tacos, tequila and sombreros,” wrote Ruben Antonio Marcos Bours, a Northwestern student, in a statement. “To me, they are a key part of my childhood, growing up in Monterrey, Mexico.”

“People think Alianza is representing Mexican culture on campus,” student Garcia Romero said. “I see them as representing U.S. hispanic culture. Very few of them have actually been to Mexico. (Mexican international students) don’t have an official student group, but that doesn’t mean we are represented by Alianza.”

Interesting to note, two of the writers of the email that was sent to Northwestern students are not Mexican, but you can bet they're liberal.

One would think that those who are ethnically diverse would appreciate sharing their cultural heritage with others. I guess not. Maybe we should just ban Cinco De Mayo altogether, so we don't offend the Chicanos.

Stacey Dooley's "My Hometown Fanatics"- the rise of extremist Muslims in Luton, England

In this BBC 3 documentary, Stacey Dooley goes to Luton (North London) to witness up close and personal the radical Muslims who have overtaken her home town, now known as the 'extremist capital of Britain'. In the end, she seems to think they can all somehow live together, shariah law be damned. But what can one expect from a liberal. With attitudes like hers, the end of England will come even sooner than expected.
