While half the country is mourning the other half is gloating. Barack Obama did not win by a landslide, as many would like to believe, he won by a very small percentage (and much less than last time around), but he won nonetheless and many of us are still reeling. A few days after the 2008 election, I wrote about how Obama won the presidency, and much of that holds true this time.
So what else went wrong?
I was quite hopeful we could bring this one home, at least by a thin margin, but obviously I was wrong. For various reasons.
I underestimated the American people, at least those who were still on the fence. The ones that could have handed the White House to Mitt Romney, but chose to either not vote, or vote third party instead. The ones that decided their principles meant far more to them than the good of the country. The same ones who handed it over to Obama in 2008. That is unforgivable. These were people who should have known better, but chose to punish the Republican Party (again) and in so doing will have punished us all.
I also underestimated the lengths to which Obama and the Democratic Party would go to seal the deal, or rather steal the deal. From intimidation to voter fraud to thousands of military absentee ballots that were possibly lost in an alleged plane crash. Obama also ran a nasty campaign that leveled Romney in many ways, and Romney didn't really fight back. Bombarded with negative ads, which included many lies, people were either too lazy or ignorant to bother to check on their veracity. And none of Obama's worshippers bothered to ever research his dubious background. I will reiterate, I'm not a birther, I don't believe he's a Muslim, but it's quite obvious where his sympathies lie. And he's as left as they get. Many I know have no problem with Socialism, so that wouldn't have been an issue with them.
In spite of the fact that Obama accomplished pretty much nothing during the last four years- other than ordering the Navy Seals to kill Osama Bin Laden- and we are, in fact, worse off than we were when he first started, people decided to re-elect a known, albeit ineffectual commodity. The problem is half the U.S. population has no clue how dangerous he is. Tarek Fatah, a moderate Canadian Muslim believes that 90% of American Muslims voted for Obama because of his anti-Israel stance and pro Muslim Brotherhood sympathies, and because of that watch out for more Benghazis and more lies and cover-ups.
And how do you compete with the tooth fairy and Santa Claus? People want their free Obamaphones, and their free birth control. When you can get free stuff, why would you want to vote for someone who wants to help you get off your butt, off welfare and into a job? The fools don't realize someone's paying for that stuff, and that money is going to eventually dry up when businesses shut down or move off shore. They just have to look across the ocean to see how well the nanny states in Europe are faring. We might not have riots after elections in this country (though I truly believe there might have been had Romney won) but I can guarantee that if we eventually have to go the austerity route, like Greece, it will definitely turn violent. With eight years of feeling entitled, and having the rug pulled from under them, it will not be pretty.
Having a shamefully biased media, pumping for Obama didn't help matters either.
The GOP needs to find a way to court the Latino and Black voters, though I'm not quite sure how. Ironically, the Republican party's stance on immigration is a big stumbling block for the Hispanic-American population, and yet, Obama has deported far more than George W. Bush ever did. And people like Todd Akin and Richard Mourdoch need to keep their mouths shut.
I will pray, like I did in 2008, that he makes good on his promises for bi-partisanship and getting this country back on track, but I doubt things will change. And I pray he doesn't take this country down a road that will take years to recover from, though I have a feeling that's his aim. I hope I'm wrong.
This is the time the party needs to do some heavy-duty soul searching, and see what needs to be done to bring more Latinos, Blacks and women into the fold.

The Real Romney The MSM Won't Share, By Couple Who Bought Their UT Home
This is something you will not see in the mainstream media: a bi-partisan couple who purchased Mitt and Ann Romney's Park City, Utah, home lock, stock and barrel in 2009 sharing their insights into a man that the liberals love to vilify, calling him out of touch with the common man.
Corinne and Hal Prewitt (Hal's a race car driver) have voted both Republican and Democratic in the past, depending on the candidate, and were neither pro-Romney nor anti-Obama, but felt compelled to share their story with the public.
We need to get this information out there.
Corinne and Hal Prewitt (Hal's a race car driver) have voted both Republican and Democratic in the past, depending on the candidate, and were neither pro-Romney nor anti-Obama, but felt compelled to share their story with the public.
"The Mitt Romney we know - Insight into the man". Corinne and I have released a story to the public & press. It has gone viral. When you read it the reason will become clear. We bought Mitt Romney's home and have an insight into the man & his family few others have. Private details, how he acted out of public view and when not running for office. Mitt Romney is very different from the man that many Americans have been led to believe. Not all, but many people will be surprised and amazed. Here is a snippet from their story. It shows Romney to be an honorable, devoted family man who does not impose his beliefs on others, and who has lived a very non-ostentatious life- in spite of his millions- if his Park City Utah home and its furnishings (which the Prewitts received along with the purchase of the home) is any indication.
No one can say with absolute certainty what kinds of decisions a president will make while still a candidate for that office. To predict, we only have access to their words, history and if available the most useful facts of all, how they acted out of public view and when they are not running for office. This is why our story is so important, valuable and must be told. No doubt some will want to dismiss our story or argue that it is not newsworthy nor relevant. However, we hope our voters are given the opportunity to hear the truth, especially when the facts directly contradict what many people think to be true.
Our story was written and became public after Democratic, Republican and Independent voters recommended and found it valuable. We are messengers, delivering facts. We were not Mitt Romney supporters nor anti-Obama. The facts do change who we support. Regardless of who any of us are supporting in the presidential election, we all are better served by knowing the truth. This story was not approved by Mitt Romney or his campaign as these are Corinne & Hal Prewitt's words and the efforts to publish are their own.
The Mitt Romney we know - Insight into the man & his family 8/26/2012
Ours is a factual story that provides a rare glimpse and insight into the real Mitt Romney. Does he really relate to the average American? As President, would he impose his beliefs onothers? Is he really Christian?
Growing up in Florida and Pennsylvania, we knew little to nothing of Utah, Mitt Romney, his family or values, beliefs, religion and his capabilities. We were amazed by what we learned. We are messengers, delivering facts and initially were not Mitt Romney supporters nor antiObama. The facts do change who we support. We are not part of any campaign, not Mormon nor religious activists. We have voted for Democrats and Republicans and believe voters should elect the best person regardless of political party.
When you buy a home and its contents from someone you really learn a lot about their true character, values and beliefs. And rarely does anyone have the opportunity to learn how a politician acts out of the public's view and when they are not running for office. Well, this actually happened. When? Only a few years ago, in spring of 2009 when we bought Mitt Romney's Park City, Utah home. His family lived in this home for about ten years. Because our purchase included most of the contents, we gained a unique and unusual perspective of him and his family of which most Americans are completely unaware. What we experienced was not what we expected. Not the stereotypical actions of a millionaire and more importantly not the image most Americans have of Mitt Romney. Here is a link to their full story on pdf.
We need to get this information out there.

Pat Caddell- Media "The enemy of the American people"
Speaking at an Accuracy in Media (AIM) "Obamanation: A Day of Truth" conference, Pat Caddell, a former Democratic pollster, consultant and analyst, takes the media to task along with Barack Obama over the recent Libyan consulate attack misinformation, misdirection and lack of interest.
"I think we're at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy." Caddell noted that while First Amendment protections were originally provided to the press so they would protect the liberty and freedom of the public from "organized governmental power," they had clearly relinquished the role of impartial news providers.
Nowhere was this more evident than during the tragic death of a U.S. ambassador in Libya that was lied about for nine days, because the press and the administration did not want to admit it was a terrorist attack.
"We've had nine days of lies over what happened because they can't dare say it's a terrorist attack, and the press won't push this," said Caddell. "Yesterday there was not a single piece in The New York Times over the question of Libya. Twenty American embassies, yesterday, are under attack. None of that is on the national news. None of it is being pressed in the papers."
Caddell added that it is one thing for the news to have a biased view, but "It is another thing to specifically decide that you will not tell the American people information they have a right to know."

How Obama Got Elected- The Biased Influence Of the Media
Back in 2008, a few days after my fellow citizens foolishly elected Barack Obama to the White House, I wrote about what I felt were the myriad of reasons he won the presidency. And there were plenty, including major media bias.
Filmmaker John Ziegler takes an in-depth look at exactly how the media influenced the vote in favor of Obama in his documentary film Media Malpractice: How Obama got elected and Palin was targeted. Although Sarah Palin was not the best VP choice for McCain, she did not deserve being railroaded.
The Palin witch hunt by pretty much every major media outlet definitely influenced the outcome of the vote, and yet the average voter had no clue who, why or what he/she was voting for. Do you remember the Howard Stern Show interview with Obama voters? Obama supporters in Harlem were interviewed by 'Sal', one of Stern's staff members, and all of them were actually for McCain's policies, although they thought they were Obama's. What Sal did was ask them what they thought of McCain's policies although he attributed them to Obama, including if they were happy with Sarah Palin as Obama's choice of VP. They all said yes.
And to prove just how biased and influential the media was during the 2008 presidential election campaign, John Ziegler commissioned a Zogby poll to determine how the media can impact an election. A mix of twelve white and black Obama supporters were interviewed on November 4th, right after they had cast their vote.
Most had no clue who Barney Frank, Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi were. However when asked which candidate had a pregnant teenage daughter, and which candidate wore $150,000 worth of clothing their party paid for, they all correctly credited Palin. And although Palin had commented that you can see Russia from land in Alaska, Tina Fey's mockery of that statement "And I can see Russia from my house" was what stuck in the minds of the voters. When asked who said "I can see Russia from my house" using Palins phrase, they all piped in with Palin. When asked who claimed they had campaigned in "57 states"- an Obama gaffe- most said it was probably Sarah Palin or McCain. And this question that I actually had no clue about: Which candidate won their first election by getting all their opponents kicked off the ballot? Either they didn't know, or it was blamed on McCain or Palin. As for Biden's stupid comment that Obama would be tested in his first six months by an international crisis, a few had no clue, and the rest attributed it to McCain. And which candidate had to quit another campaign because he plagiarized a speech- which was Biden- no-one knew. And even though Obama said his own policies would bankrupt the coal industry and make energy prices skyrocket, the majority blamed McCain, one person had no clue, another thought it might be Biden. Only one man knew who Bill Ayers was.

These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience. The rather shocking video below seeks to provide some insight into which information broke through the news media clutter and which did not.

Romney's U.K. Gaffe Versus Obama's Top Ten
To Obama lovers, Barack can do no wrong. None of his pretty numerous gaffes have made much of a ripple in the mainstream media, while pundits and talking heads have glommed on to every single gaffe (insignificant or not) of anyone on the right.
Yes, Mitt Romney could have handled his U.K. comment on the Olympic game security situation a little more delicately, but good grief- he was simply stating the truth. He found it a tad disconcerting that they were having problems.
Well, yeah. That is definitely something to be concerned about, and the Olympics 'aint over yet. God forbid something happens, but it's not out of the realm of possibility given London's safe haven for radical Muslims, and the story the UK sun exposed about Pakistan's Olympic Team visa scam.
On the other hand the POTUS has made some pretty tacky gaffes of his own. Breitbart has listed Obama's top 10 U.K. gaffes. Yes, exclusively U.K.
Here are the other 8. Equally inappropriate. And that's not to mention all the other ones he's made:
"Austrian" is a language, Canada has a president, they speak Arabic in Afghanistan, referring to the Falkland Islands (Malvinas) as the Maldives, the Polish death camp gaffe.
I won't even bother mentioning the slew of other gaffes. You might want to call Romney a rich, out of touch buffoon, but at least he's not a dangerous one.

“The stories about the private security firm not having enough people, supposed strike of immigration and customs officials, that obviously is not something which is encouraging."

1. The Toast:President Inspector Clouseau completely bungles a toast to Queen Elizabeth:The screwup: At this point, the band launched into “God Save the Queen” — but Obama continued speaking over the music: “. . . for the vitality of the special relationship between our peoples, and in the words of Shakespeare, ‘To this blessed plot, this Earth, this realm, this England.’ To the Queen.” She gave him a look, he set down his glass, and then stood motionless until the music stopped. Then everyone picked up their glasses. Oops.Watch the video. The reaction around Captain Clueless is absolutely hysterical.2. The iPod:President Inspector Clouseau gifts Queen Elizabeth with an iPod loaded with videos and photos of…himself:The bestowing of the Royal iPod brought a cringe from one top etiquette expert, who said it confirmed that Obama hasn’t figured out presidential gift-giving. Or that they shouldn’t all come from Best Buy[.]Here's The Playlist of the Narcissist.
