Taliban Using Young Boys As Sex Slaves

Iran's PressTV is claiming that according to a report by the National Directorate of Security (NDS)- an Afghan intelligence agency- Taliban militants are hiring young boys and using them as sex slaves and for bomb attacks.

The latest revelation comes after Afghan security forces arrested several young boys during clean-up operations at militant camps in Maidan Wardak Province.

Sources say the boys have been beaten, drugged, and sexually assaulted by Taliban commanders.

Although one has to consider the source (re. the veracity of the claims), it's not uncommon for Afghan men to have sex with teenage boys. In fact they have a name for it: Bacha Bazi. So this is not outside the realm of possibility.

So, homosexuality in Islam can result in death, but pederasty is totally cool.

More here, and here.

Afghan Boy, 13, Jailed For Sex With Two Adult Men

According to Human Rights Watch (HRW), a 13-year-old boy who had sex in a public park in Herat, Afghanistan with two adult males will spend a year in juvenile detention. Although the two men were also arrested, there's no word on what happened to them, which means they probably walked free.

HRW wants the 'abusers' to be punished, and for the boy to be released, but since the kid claims it was consensual, it's a no go. Consensual or not, HRW considers it rape.

"When a man has sex with a 13-year-old child, the child is a victim of rape, not a criminal offender," Brad Adams, Asia director at HRW, said in a statement.
"The Afghan government should never have victimised this boy a second time, but instead should have released him immediately with urgent protection and assistance."

Although pederasty (man-boy love) is banned in Afghanistan, it is quite prevalent, as is bacha bazi, the popular entertainment whereby boys get to dance in front of groups of lecherous men- dressed up as girls- with the possibility of sex afterwards.

Apparently, 'there is no age of consent for sex under Afghan law', and so people are charged for "moral crimes" for sex outside of marriage. It appears they're more concerned about people engaging in sex out-of-wedlock than pedophiles targeting young boys.

I suppose a year isn't so bad considering homosexuals are usually executed, but I wonder what the punishment would have been had it been a woman. Jail for years, a good flogging, stoning to death?

What a screwed up culture.

The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan- where pederasty is cool- documentary film

Pedophilia is a popular past-time in Afghanistan amongst the mostly Pashtun culture. Homosexuality in Islam carries the death penalty, pederasty obviously does not.  In Afghanistan it takes the form of bacha bazi (boy play), where poor, prepubescent and teen boys are recruited for dancing (mostly in drag) in front of groups of men for their entertainment pleasure, culminating in sex for one lucky pervert. In some cases it turns into gang rape.

It's apparently a vile ancient tradition that regained popularity during the mujahideen war against the Russians in Afghanistan. During the war, the Northern Alliance commanders all had their boy partners, and those same former commanders, now married, continue to maintain what in essence is sexual slavery. Many owners of young boys and participants are powerful, wealthy and married men. They're wives have no say.

Afghan documentary filmmaker Najibullah Quraishi went back to Afghanistan several years ago to document the practice. Filming undercover, he brings to light the seamy, underbelly of bacha bazi practice where the boys are let go when they age out, and some boys wind up dead. The average age of the boys is 12 to 14.

Although illegal, no-one seems to be doing anything about it since, in many cases, the police are also involved. These are devout Muslims who dress their wives in burqas while dressing young boys in women's clothing for a little dance and sex. There's something terribly wrong with this picture.  I blame a religion that segregates men and women.

Quraishi's film "The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan" aired in the U.K. and on PBS's Frontline in 2010.
