The Feds Sue The Florida Prison System For Not Serving Kosher Meals
Back in 2007, the Florida Department of Corrections decided that it needed to tighten
its belt and stopped serving special meals to its Jewish and Muslim population. That's right, no kosher or halal meals for the inmates. Prior to that decision both Muslims and Jews ate kosher meals. But those meals cost more than double the amount that regular prisoner food costs, so it made sense to stop providing them that option. However, the FDC must have buckled at some point in time after that initial decision, because one correctional facility in South Florida has been offering kosher meals since 2010 to about 12 or so who qualified for a pilot program:
And even though the inmates have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, which would preclude the need for kosher meals, they are still complaining and now the federal government has stepped in. Yes, the feds have actually sued the FDC for not making kosher meals available to all inmates. Apparently, the feds believe that this "forces hundreds of its prisoners to violate their core religious beliefs on a daily basis." Excuse me, but if they were that religious- and that goes for anyone who follows a strict "religious" diet- how did they wind up in the slammer to begin with? Surely someone who is that religious would have the moral rectitude to stay out of trouble.
According to FDC spokesman Jo Ellyn Rackleff Kosher meals cost around $4.70 a day as opposed to $1.54 a day.
The vegetarians lucked out with all their food options, but that's because soy products are cheaper than meat. However, one pedophile inmate- Eric Harris- at Lake correctional facility in Florida sued the Florida prison system last year because he felt that being forced to consume soy by-products in up to 70% of his meals was "cruel and unusual" punishment. I guess he should have thought about that before he started molesting young kids.
Criminals of any religious persuasion do not deserve any special treatment. If you want to be able to follow your religious and dietary laws then stay out of prison.

Only prisoners who are at least 59 years old or eligible for assignment to a work squad and have religious reasons for keeping kosher are eligible for the program.

DEVO's Anti-Romney Song - "Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro!"
Anyone remember the New Wave band DEVO, from the 70s? Well, apparently they are still alive and kicking and have just produced an anti-Romney song entitled "Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro!" Referencing the time the Romney's sick Irish setter Seamus was strapped to the roof of their car during a 1983 road trip, Jerry Casale claims it's not a partisan thing.
Of course, he voted for Obama in 2008 and will vote for him again even though he says he's disappointed in Obama's job performance.
Okay, Jerry. If this truly isn't a partisan thing, how about a song about Obama's dog-eating days: "Don't Eat Rover, Bro." At least Seamus is still alive.

New Black Panthers Taking Aim At The RNC and Whites- "Skin" Whites and Kill Their Babies

"Sister" Michelle Williams, Chief of Staff of the New Black Panther Party, rages on during an August 12, 2012 interview on the Black Panther Radio Show on Black Power radio about how the black community in Tampa, Fl are "under siege" by whites, Republicans and "tea party tea baggers," because of the upcoming GOP convention. Tampa is where the GOP convention will take place August 27-30.
But it's not just white "crackers" that get a tongue lashing from sister Michelle, she also targets white "wannabee" black conservatives, asking "when did you lose your dignity and lay down for these damn crackers who mean this black community no good, they've shown it [snip]... their history has shown this." I guess she forgets that it was largely the Republicans that fought to end slavery, and were a major part of the civil rights movement. She then rants on about as long as the whites keep treating the black community as the "N" word [snip] "you better believe my foot.. on your g**damn motherfu**ers neck.”
She's convinced that all "the Republicans hate black people!" Well, sorry to disappoint, Michelle, not this one, but I do know some Democrats who do.
And she talks about all the "haters" out there. Take a good, hard look in the mirror, sister.

It's Ramadan and The Killing Goes On- Roundup of Violence
It's still Ramadan, the holiest of Muslim holidays, and you'd think they'd take a little break from all the violence and bloodshed that has become synonymous with Islam. But no, the carnage continues.
Afghanistan was the center of a series of suicide bombings and attacks on Tuesday that killed more than 41 people and wounded more than 138. Touted as one of the bloodiest days this year, three bombings in different regions of Afghanistan claimed the lives of innocent men, women and children. Several bazaars and a government gas station were just some of the targets, and to show just how evil these people are, another bomb targeted the wounded who had been transported to a hospital, causing even more casualties.
Gen. John R. Allen, NATO commander, asked Taliban leader Mullah Omar to:

Then there was all that action in Iraq. 14 were killed during the past week. In fact, July (Ramadan started July 20) was the deadliest month since August 2010.
Al-Qaeda affiliated militants singled out eight 16 to 20-year-old Shia Muslim men, executing them after allowing the rest of the group of 25 to leave unharmed. The others happened to be Sunnis. As they are apt to do, they too left a roadside bomb under one of the dead bodies as a present for the first responders, for maximum body count, you know- 4 policemen were wounded.
Then there's the six young Arabs who were swimming in Amerli, Iraq when they were shot dead by men on motorcycles. And the Sunni police that were attacked and killed, and the two Sunni government employees who were murdered (just so you know it's not just Shi'ites who are targets.) And all the others the past 30 days. 325 killed in July alone, and there have been attacks every day in August in Iraq.
And lets' not forget the bloodbath that's taking place in Syria during Ramadan.

Death Threats By Pakistan Taliban Force Cellphone Dealers To Close
People in the Khyber Agency- a tribal region in northwest Pakistan- will no longer have limited to no access to cell phones and computers because those oh-so enlightened Taliban have threatened owners of such businesses with death. Apparently, Tehrik-i-Taliban left a slew of pamphlets signed by head enlightened one Hakimullah Mehsud on shop doors of Insaf Market telling the owners to shut down their stores or face punishment. The Taliban have deemed ringtones (along with "obscene videos") a no-no, and since people can download those nasty ringtones onto cellphones, those must go too; although it's perfectly okay for them to use the technology.
So, rather than lose their lives, some shopkeepers in the Landi Kotal Bazaar have closed shop.
Why punish the cell phone dealer rather than the individual who downloads obscene material and ringtones onto his mobile phone or computer? It's a huge stretch, but since the shop owners are earning money from the sale of cellphones and computers to nasty people who download all that nasty haram (forbidden) stuff, the money the shop owners make is therefore 'immoral and un-Islamic'. Yeah, I know, it hurts my head, too. I guess no "maybe, baby" ringtones for those Taliban types on their mobiles.
The pamphlet said:
Even though officials promised to protect the business owners, there was no beefed up security, which in turn prompted some to close their shops. They obviously decided not to take any chances since the Taliban had followed through with a previous threat back in January when a few businesses were destroyed in that same market.
Sad that the Khyber region- which has the highest rate of literacy in Pakistan- has to deal with a group of people occupying the lowest rung on the evolutionary ladder.
