Closet Republican Has A Facebook Page

If Ayatollah Ali Khamenei can have a Facebook page, so can I.  Actually, a conservative reader approached me about putting one together so I have him to thank.  Since I can't sign up as an administrator by "liking" the page from my personal Facebook account or my photography fan page, for obvious reasons, he will take care of maintaining it.

If you care to, head on over to Confessions of a Closet Republican and "like" my page I'd be delighted.

Australia's Gun Control Law Prompts Higher Crime Rates

As expected, the gun control debate has been dominating my Facebook feed. This is one of the photos that has been circulating:

Everyone has been touting Australia's gun control laws. Yes, the mass shootings have stopped, but apparently crime has increased, according to the report below.

Israeli Death Squads Involved In Sandy Hook- Iran's Press TV Quotes GOP Mike Harris

It didn't take long for the myriad of Sandy Hook conspiracy theorists to flood the blogosphere with their typical false flag theories, glomming on to any small, insignificant tidbit that the media initially reported on before most of the facts became known. And then we have the legion of anti-Semitic Israel haters, both here and abroad, crawling out of their holes blaming Israel and the Zionists for the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Believe it or not, they're out there.

As I was perusing all the conspiracy theories on Before It's News, which has my blog listed but seems to be a haven for every wacko blogger out there, I noticed this title:

Israeli Death Squads Involved in Sandy Hook Bloodbath: Intelligence Analyst

Really?  Israel managed to send its operatives to Newtown, CT to murder 20 children and 8 adults? Why?  Revenge, apparently. According to Mike (Michael) Harris, would-be Arizona GOP governor in 2006, the Israelis were pissed off about "losing their bid to thwart Palestine from being recognized by the  U.N."  In fact, Israel is responsible for every massacre on U.S. soil, including Gabby Giffords and the Aurora Colorado massacre, by the way.

Of course, the "how" is never addressed. But never mind that. The Jews did it.

And can you guess the source of the Before It's News article?  Iran's official state PressTV, the same PressTV that bought into The Onion's bogus account of Facebook being a Mossad and CIA front. Not surprising that anti-Semites would give credence to anti-Semites.

Days later, the Sandy Hook Massacre, the iconic slaughter of twenty small children, is now looking like a terrorist attack, not a “murder suicide.” Was “lone gunman” Adam Lanza a “patsy,” the same word Lee Harvey Oswald used to describe himself before being “silenced” in November 1963?

Today, Michael Harris, former Republican candidate for governor of Arizona and GOP campaign finance chairman, in an internationally televised news broadcast, cited “Israeli revenge” in, what he called, “the terrorist attack in Connecticut.”

Harris cited Israeli “rage” against the US and against President Barack Obama. By “Israel,” we mean “Netanyahu.”

The mission was to teach America a lesson, knowing that “America would take the punishment, keep “quiet,” and let a ‘fall guy’ take the blame.”

A “fall guy” is another word for “patsy.”

Harris, citing the flood of inconsistencies in the “cover story,” pointed out the following, “The facts are now becoming obvious. This is another case where Israel has chosen violence and terrorism where their bullying in Washington has failed. Israel believes the US “threw them under the bus,” particularly after the recent Gaza war, allowing Israel to be humiliated in the United Nations. Their response was to stage a terror attack, targeting America in the most hideous and brutal way possible, in fact, an Israeli “signature attack,” one that butchers children, one reminiscent of the attacks that killed so many children in Gaza?”

Washington is terrified of Israel, their powerful lobby and its relationship with organized crime. Now, a key former Senator, Chuck Hagel, who has helped expose this fact, is likely to be nominated as the secretary of defense, despite vocal protests from Israel.

Today, Israeli news gave further credence to Harris’ analysis when they issued the following statements regarding the probable nomination of Hegel:

“Chuck Hagel’s statements and actions regarding Israel have raised serious concerns for many Americans who care about Israel,” said the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) Executive Director, Matt Brooks. “The Jewish community and every American who supports a strong US-Israel relationship have cause for alarm if the president taps Hagel for such an important post.”

“The appointment of Chuck Hagel would be a slap in the face for every American who is concerned about the safety of Israel,” he asserted

Citing a 2006 interview with Hegel, the news continued, “The political reality is…that the Jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people up here. I have always argued against some of the dumb things they do because I don’t think it’s in the interest of Israel. I just don’t think it’s smart for Israel.”
Read the rest here.

Again, no details how the Israeli "death squads" were actually able to carry it off. And as ludicrous as this theory is, there are plenty who agree, including Ron Paul devotees, as evidenced by the comments on the Daily Paul in response to posting PressTv's article.

Yes, sadly the GOP has its scumbag racists and anti-Semites, but Harris needs to be institutionalized.

Hypocrite Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Has A Facebook Fan Page

So Iran's head Mullah, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, now has a Facebook fan page with 14,600 fans and counting. And that's just since its creation on December 13. Ironic, considering the Iranian government believes Facebook is a Zionist entity and Khamenei's own people are blocked from accessing it, except for those who have ways of skirting the blocks. Hypocrite. Actually, they might also still believe that Facebook is a  CIA and Mossad front, unless they finally discovered that The Onion's satirical piece that PressTV (the Iranian government's mouthpiece) reported as its own, was bogus.

But Facebook isn't the Ayatollah's first and only foray into the social media world, according to RFE/RL.org old Ali also has a Twitter account, and joined Google+ and Instagram. He also has his own fancy website- with 13 language options including Swahili, no less.

Iranian journalist Hadi Nili says the Islamic establishment uses different means to spread its message and reach out to supporters around the globe.

"For the same reason that Iran launches the English-language PressTV or a Hispanic TV station for Spanish speakers or Arabic channels," Nili says, "it uses Facebook and Twitter, which are cheap and easy to use."

Nili believes Khamenei's page is more likely to attract foreign viewers than Iranian Facebook users, who might not give it such a warm welcome.

But if Khamenei's latest video post is any indication, the bulk are Iranian. At least, as far as I can tell. The shared YouTube video, entitled 'New Middle East, Islamic Middle East' has over 120 FB shares, over 1,000 likes, and over 1,900 comments. It shows Condoleezza Rice in 2006 talking about the New Middle East:

"....whatever we do, we have to be certain that we're pushing forward to the new Middle East, not going back to the old one. What we're seeing here, in a sense is the growing- the birth pangs of a new Middle East."
Then there's the typical anti-Israel rhetoric, through photos and news clips including the following prediction:

The issue of Palestine is an Islamic issue. Based on the Truths that Allah the exalted has ordained, there is no doubt that a new Middle East will be formed.  This new Middle East will be the Islamic Middle East.
This implies, no doubt, a Middle East sans Israel. Something both the Iranian government and the Palestinians have been dreaming of for decades.

There are many secular and freedom loving Iranians with Facebook accounts, and many activists armed with cellphones used Facebook and Twitter during the 2009 protests to upload videos showing the brutality of the crackdown, but posting on Facebook can get you arrested if you get caught.

Those activities are seen as a threat by Iranian officials, who have already targeted a number of activists over their Facebook posts. Blogger Sattar Beheshti, who last month died in custody, was reportedly arrested over his Facebook activism.
Abdolsamad Khoramabadi, an Iranian official with the state-run body in charge of online censorship and computer crimes, said earlier this year that posting materials on Facebook that are considered immoral, contravene sacred Islamic principles, or disrupt security and peace is considered a crime.
Check out the comments, there are some in English.

Unfortunately, it looks like the new Middle East is headed towards becoming an Islamic Middle East, and I fear for Israel.

Syrians Demonstrate In Support Of Jihadist Group Designated As Terrorists

It's tragic, what's happening in Syria.  A secular albeit dictator-run country with a leader hell-bent on staying in power even if it means massacring his own people is headed down an equally hellish path. The people of Syria, like their Arab Spring brethren, started out fighting for freedom, but what they could potentially end up with (and most likely will), like their Arab Spring brethren, is far worse.

What president Bashar Al Assad has been claiming all along- about battling foreign terrorists and Islamists- has finally come true. I don't believe it was so in the beginning, but in these long 18 months of battle Islamists have joined the fray, and it appears they're now the ones poised to prevail, along with their hardcore Islamic ways.

Already, some rebels and other opponents of Mr Assad have sought to implement their particularly harsh version of Sharia on a small scale, particularly using corporal punishment against suspected criminals and government supporters.

Rebel interrogators in this town, about 20 kilometres from the Turkish border, said they had beaten the legs of detainees with sticks.

Insurgents in nearby Mare' threatened to amputate the hands of alleged thieves and paraded them through town in an effort to publicly shame them, residents said.

In Aleppo, where fierce fighting between insurgents and government forces has raged for weeks, one rebel leader said he had ordered lashings using rubber hoses and knotted ropes.

And according to The National, many of the people, particularly the conservative rural folk, seem to want the change.

Abu Yaqoub, a 26-year-old Muslim cleric in rebel-held Tell Rif'at, believes Sharia would provide the best form of government for Syria in a post-Assad era.
"God willing," Mr Yaqoub replied, when asked if Islamic law should be imposed nationwide.
Read more about the situation regarding the Islamists in The National.

And to further demonstrate just how influential the Islamists have become, Syrians took to the streets in protest of the Obama administration designating one of the rebel jihadist groups- Jabhat al-Nusra- a terrorist organization. Since they are linked to al-Qaeda, yes, that would make them terrorists, but obviously thousands of Syrians don't seem to care.

The protesters demonstrated under the slogan: "There is no terrorism in Syria except that of Assad."
Protesters in the Eastern Ghuta region, just outside Damascus and which has come under regular air raids by the regime army, held up a sign reading: "Thank you to all the 'terrorists' in Syria who are fighting Assad."
"We are all Al-Nusra Front," it said, in reference to the jihadist group blacklisted by Washington on Tuesday.
Lines of children and men linked arms and carried the three-starred flag of the revolution as they called for downfall of the regime in the street as shopkeepers looked on.

Since  no-one else was helping them while they were being slaughtered, they feel indebted to the Islamists. What they fail to realize is that they will want something in return. In essence what the Syrians are trading is one form of oppression for another.

What an epic fail on the part of the U.N.

American Rapping Jihadist Gets Chastised By Somalia's Al-Shabaab

Oh-oh, looks like Alabama born Abu Mansoor al-Amriki (fka Omar Hammami), the jihadist-cum-rapper living in Somalia, has formally become persona-non-grata with his fellow jihadists al-Shabaab.  28-year-old al-Amriki- born in Daphne, Alabama to a Southern Baptist mom of Irish descent and a Syrian Muslim dad- moved to Somalia in 2006 to join the fight to kill Kuffars (infidels) and Islamize the country. He left behind in Egypt a Somali-born/Canadian woman he had met and married while living in Canada, and their child.

Rapping (badly) to recruit American jihadis to the cause, he started to have problems with al-Shabaab this year, or so he claims. Back in May he let it be known that he feared for his life, and Hammami's mommy Debra told ABC news that she still loved him in spite of his terrorist ways, and wanted him home.  It seems al-Shabaab finally made it official and have "publicly chastised", something they claim they did not want to do.

“Abu Mansoor Al-Amriki does not, in any way, shape or form, represent the views of the mujahedeen in Somalia,” a statement posted via a link on the Shebab’s Twitter site read.
The “superficial allegations” made in the videos and statements are “the results of personal grievances that stem purely from a narcissistic pursuit of fame,” the statement added.

Yes, even terrorists have Twitter and Facebook accounts it seems.

Here's the whole statement, in case you are interested.

Apparently, al-Amriki wanted more fame than al-Shabaab was willing to bestow upon him.

“The jihadi theatre nevertheless accommodates people of all sorts. Some, above others, occasionally rise to prominence often with little merit save for their uniqueness,” the statement read.
“Contrary to portraits of the grand strategist, recruiter and fundraiser portrayed by the Western media, Abu Mansur Al-Amriki does not hold any position of authority.”

Maybe mommy will get her wish, he'll move back and have a nice career as a prison rapper.

US Army To Publish Manual Of Taboo Subjects- Taliban, Women's Rights, Pedophilia

Apparently it's the fault of U.S. troops in Afghanistan that they're being targeted by Afghan soldiers in green on blue attacks: they're just too darn insensitive and bereft of any understanding of Afghan culture. To remedy this the U.S. Army has decided to publish a handbook of no-no, taboo subjects soldiers are not allowed to discuss with their Afghan counterparts including: women's rights, pedophilia and how nasty the Taliban really are.

Not everyone is thrilled about it though. According to spokesman for the coalition forces in Afghanistan Colonel Tom Collins, the head honcho in that hellhole, U.S. Marine General John Allen, definitely does not approve.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) was privy to a version of the handbook, and published some quotes.

"Many of the confrontations occur because of [coalition] ignorance of, or lack of empathy for, Muslim and/or Afghan cultural norms, resulting in a violent reaction from the [Afghan security force] member."

The study, based on interviews with 600 members of the Afghan security forces and 200 American soldiers, painted a grim portrait of opposing cultures with simmering disdain for their counterparts.

The draft handbook includes a summary stating that some U.S. soldiers consider Afghan forces to be “basically stupid” thieves, "gutless in combat," "profoundly dishonest" and engaged in "treasonous collusion and alliances with enemy forces."

The draft handbook offers a list of "taboo conversation topics" that soldiers should avoid, including "making derogatory comments about the Taliban," "advocating women's rights," "any criticism of pedophilia," "directing any criticism toward Afghans," "mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct" or "anything related to Islam," according to the Journal.
Might as well just muzzle them.

Too bad much of what they think of the Afghan forces is true.
