Why Andrew Gillum is Dangerous and Wrong For Florida

This is for all those undecideds and independents who are still figuring out who they want as governor of Florida for the next four years.  Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum, Democrat, or Ron DeSantis, Republican. Most liberals have probably already voted, and this won't in any way change the mind of those who haven't. Democrats are so full of hatred for Trump and anything Republican that even if Andrew Gillum had killed his mother and buried her in his back yard, they would still vote for him.

So here are some things that might help with your decision.

First of all, aside from the fact that Gillum is as progressive as they get, which is reason enough not to vote for him, there are other major troubling issues that the media seems to be avoiding.

1. Gillum is anti-cop.

Even the largest police union (Police Benevolent Association) has endorsed Ron DeSantis. Four years ago they backed Charlie Crist, a Democrat, for governor. And the Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association has also backed DeSantis.  They both are claiming that Gillum is anti-cop after signing a pledge from a radical group called the Dream Defenders.

The pledge includes support for the group’s “Freedom Papers,” which the union says includes anti-law enforcement language, such as saying “police and prisons have no place in ‘justice.’” The papers also state that police “were never meant to protect and serve me and you,” and “they started as slave catchers hired by wealthy plantation owners."
“This is a blatant attack on our law enforcement community, an insult to the citizens we work to protect, and dishonors the memory of our fallen officers." [said Jeff Bell, president of the union.

The Dream Defenders also happen to be anti-Semitic/pro-Palestine, although Gillum allegedly claims he does not agree with their decision to embrace the Boycott Israel movement.  Four Sheriffs back DeSantis, while all the Democratic Sheriffs have endorsed Gillum. Not surprising at all.

2. Murders in Tallahassee have increased.

Tallahassee- where Gillum has been mayor since 2014- supposedly has had an increase in murders since then, and is ranked as the number one city for crime in Florida. Though there are those who disagree.

3: If DeSantis can be called racist, then so can Gillum

Remember when liberals claimed DeSantis was a racist for attending Restoration Weekend, a conservative conference, where he spoke on several occasions, or when he said "monkey this up" referring to Gillum's socialist agenda? David Whitley with the Orlando Sentinel  has an interesting commentary where he posits that if DeSantis can be called racist then maybe Gillum should be called racist as well for speaking at Netroots Nation 2017.

Which brings us to Gillum’s association with Jewish hate groups. One of the other speakers Netroots Nation 2017 was Keith Ellison, deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee and longtime pal of Rev. Louis Farrakhan.
Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam organization is so virulently anti-Semitic that even the left-leaning Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled it a hate group.
By Washington Post standards, it wouldn’t be a reach to say Gillum “spoke at a conference where provocateurs sympathetic to hate groups gather.”
Or how about his welcome speech at Florida Muslim Capitol Day 2014? The event is annually sponsored by the Florida chapter of the Council on Islamic-American Relations.
Not that Whitley believes either is racist.

4. Gillum is an uber progressive

He wants a single-payer-health plan/medicare for all.  But who is going to pay for it?
He wants to abolish ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), and re-instate Sanctuary Cities, calling those who oppose it racists.
He wants to impeach Trump

5. Ongoing FBI investigation of corruption re accepting of bribes

He received a gift of $1,000 Hamilton tickets from an undercover FBI agent. Now that doesn't seem like much, but it is in this case.

Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum, the Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate, was aware that tickets he received to a Broadway show were purchased by an undercover FBI agent he thought was a land developer, according to more than 100 pages of records given to the state ethics commission and released to the public Tuesday.
The records, which were provided to the commission by an attorney representing Adam Corey, a lobbyist and longtime friend of Gillum’s, include text-messages between Corey and Gillum, and indicate that Gillum lied on numerous occasions in claiming he was unaware who purchased the tickets when he attended the play.
And  trips to Costa Rica and New York City.  All part of the FBI investigation.

6. Corporate tax hikes will effect working Floridians

He wants to raise corporate taxes 40 percent. At $7.75, it would be the highest rate in the southeast.
Forbes explains why this would adversely effect the working Floridian. Corroborated by Politifact that claims it is mostly true.

7. Project Veritas sting proves Gillum can't be trusted

And last but not least, Project Veritas did another sting on Gillum campaign staffers. Omar Smith had some interesting things to say about Gillum.
It’s a cracker state,” Smith stated. “Get it? Ask anybody outside of here. You go Port St. Lucie, Orlando … man them crackers ain’t gonna let us do that sh*t dawg. Boy, you crazy?”
He went on, saying, “Gillum is a progressive. He is a part of the crazy, crazy, crazies.”
Then the undercover reporter asked how Gillum plans to pay for many of his campaign promises, Smith said he couldn’t. “That’s not for them to know … That’s not for [the voters] to know. Remember our saying, modern-day fairy tales start with ‘once I am elected.’”
You can watch the video on Daily Caller.

Smith was fired!

Even Democrat Bill Nelson, who is running against Rick Scott, isn't too thrilled with some of Gillum's platform.

More on Breitbart regarding Gillum and the Dream Defenders. And here.

Is this someone Florida needs? With Gillum as governor are we headed down the road to failure like California?  Can we really afford someone like Gillum?  IF he wins, how much damage will he do in 4 years?

A Catholic Florida University Authorizes Pro-ISIS Club - Project Veritas Video

James O'Keefe from Project Veritas (PV) has added another video to his university collection.

Last week he posted a video from Cornell University where we see Assistant Dean Joseph Scaffido sanction a pro-ISIS club. This new one is far more on point. Whereas the journalist in the last one never actually mentions the name Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or the acronym ISIS, this PV journalist does both. Numerous times.

At Florida's Barry University- a private Catholic university in Miami Shores- the young female journalist speaks to four different Barry University officials, all of whom tell her that forming an "ISIS" club would be perfectly fine.  As long as she doesn't use the name ISIS, since "technically our country is at war with ISIS."

No excuse this time.

They should have told the young girl- hell no!  Instead they signed off on the application for the club.

The officials:

Derek Bley- Coordinator for Leadership Development and Student Organizations
Daisy Santiago- International and Multicultural Programs Coordinator
Frederique Frage- Associate Director of International and Multicultural Programs
Associate Professor of Communications Pawena Sirimangkala, Honors Program

Muslim Private School Teacher Accused Of Raping Middle Schoolers In Florida

Tariq Ahmed was a middle and high school teacher at the Nur-Ul-Islam Academy in Cooper City, Florida. Right now, he is nowhere to be found since accusations of rape surfaced this past May. He allegedly sexually abused two middle schoolers dating back to 2007, and the school was aware of the allegations but did nothing about it.

Scott Mager, one of the victim's attorney said:

“They knew in 2008. What do they do? Absolutely nothing, expect accuse the kid of doing it. What do they do, they blame, they cover up, they don’t tell the parents."
After years of therapy, the students finally came forward.

Mager said of the abuse, which took place off campus, but was arranged in the classroom in code:

“There was significant sexual abuse, intercourse and other inappropriate behavior such that one of the students had to have substantial surgical repair of that (private) area. It’s horrific."

The school's statement:

Recently, we have become aware of disturbing allegations regarding a former teacher of Nur-ul-Islam Academy, Inc. (the “Academy”). These allegations relate to alleged acts of the teacher 6 to 8 years ago, which did not occur on the school’s premise, concerning at least one former student of the Academy. Upon learning of these allegations, the Academy immediately suspended the teacher’s employment, barred him from any further contact with Academy students and has since terminated his employment with the Academy. Although none of the acts are alleged to have occurred on the Academy’s campus, such acts, if true, clearly violate the conduct policy of the Academy, along with being a gross dereliction of the high level of moral character the Academy expects from its faculty. The Academy’s primary concern is to foster a safe and caring environment for all of its students, in which they can flourish personally and academically. The Academy, therefore, has undertaken a full review of its policies to determine what, if anything, needs to be done to further ensure the safety of our students. In the spirit of Islamic teachings, we offer prayers for the well-being of all our students, current and former.

He has been charged with six felony counts- that is, if he's ever caught.  He's probably on a plane to Pakistan or wherever he's from.

Yes, this has happened in other private religious schools of other faiths, however, Muslims hold themselves to a higher moral ground, therefore should be held to a higher standard.

Rich Couple Rip Off Minnesota Welfare System While Living On $1.2 Million Yacht

Another shameful rip-off of the welfare system.

Colin and Andrea Chisholm III were living in Palm Beach, Florida on their $1.2 million luxury yacht (The Andrea Aras) all the while they were collecting public assistance from Minnesota. From 2005 to 2012 they received $165,000. Thing is, Minnesota allows up to $35,000.

They've been charged with fraud but are nowhere to be found.

More on the story here.

Remember that Seattle couple, David Silverstein and his wife Lyudmila Shimonova, back in 2011 who lived in a million dollar house while claiming welfare benefits? Are there no checks and balances when it comes to public assistance?  This is why we are going broke.

"Jihad" Spray Painted On Sound Barrier Off I-95 In Florida

Someone spray painted "jihad" in huge letters across one of the sound barriers off of I-95 in Delray Beach, Florida, and a fight ensues between two men: one who is offended, the other who claims there are no terrorists and that it's just a word.

They still have no clue who the culprits are.

Florida Imam Convicted On 4 Counts Of Aiding Terrorists

77-year-old Hafiz Khan, the imam of a Miami mosque, could spend the rest of what little life he has left in jail after being convicted of monetarily supporting the Pakistani Taliban.

After a two month trial, the jury found Khan guilty of :

two conspiracy counts and two counts of providing material support to terrorists.
Khan will find out his fate on May 30th when Judge Robert Scola decides whether he will get the maximum sentence of 15 years for each count.

U.S. prosecutor Wilfredo Ferrer said of Khan:

"Despite being an imam, or spiritual leader, Hafiz Khan was by no means a man of peace." "Instead, he acted with others to support terrorists to further acts of murder, kidnapping and maiming."
According to the prosecutors, Khan shared the following with FBI undercover agents who recorded hundreds of conversations with the old man, including:

...support for Taliban attacks and discussed sending about $50,000 to Pakistan. There were also recordings in which Khan appeared to back the overthrow of Pakistan's government in favor of strict Islamic law, praised the killing of American military personnel and lauded the failed 2010 attempt to detonate a bomb in New York's Times Square.
Khan denies everything, and his son Irfan claims his dad has dementia, and was therefore unable to defend himself properly.
Khan, who testified over four combative days in his own defense, insisted the money he sent overseas was for family, charity and business reasons - above all, his religious school, known as a madrassa, in Pakistan's Swat Valley. Khan also said he repeatedly lied about harboring extremist views to obtain $1 million from a man who turned out to be an FBI informant wearing a wire to record their talk.
"That is not supporting terrorism," said Khan attorney Khurrum Wahid in a closing argument. "That is an old guy running a scam, who got scammed."
Prosecutors, however, said the purported $1 million offer was never heard on any tapes and no other witnesses testified about its existence. The informant, identified in court papers as Mahmood Siddiqui, did not testify.
Khan and Wahid intend on appealing the verdict.

The back story, in case you are not familiar with the case:
The case began with six defendants indicted in May 2011 but ended with only Khan on trial. Two of Khan's sons, Izhar and Irfan, were cleared of all charges and three more defendants have remained free in Pakistan, which does not extradite its citizens to face U.S. criminal charges.
One of those in Pakistan, Ali Rehman, testified via video link that he was not a Taliban fighter as U.S. prosecutors claim. Rehman said he owned a women's cosmetics store that the Taliban disliked because products showed photos of women. He said he handled more than $30,000 in financial transactions for Khan, mainly to invest in a potato chip factory run by Khan's son-in-law.
After Rehman's testimony, Pakistani authorities shut down the video link from an Islamabad hotel, leaving Khan without the testimony of 10 witnesses on his behalf.

If he was indeed aiding and abetting terrorists he deserves what he will get. If he was scamming, as his attorney attests, let that be a lesson, as well. Either way, he deserves to be punished, and hopefully this will deter others in this country from doing the same.

Wounded Warrior Project Refuses Donations From Florida Church

We do far too little for our military veterans, particularly the wounded ones who have a far more challenging time adjusting to life stateside, so it's terribly disappointing when you hear some not so great news about a charitable organization dedicated to helping them. Especially one that is promoted by so many celebrities including conservative icons like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. With the economy still in shambles, charities need all the money they can get, so the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) declining to accept monies from a fundraising effort by a Christian Church and school in Port St Lucie, Florida, is terribly troubling.

Liberty Baptist Church and Academy were set to start their fundraising campaign when they were told by WWP to forget it since they were "religious in nature."

As reported by Todd Starnes at Fox Radio, the pastor of Liberty Baptist Church and Academy, Wallace Cooley, said that "they had already paid a $100 registration fee to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project and were about to launch the campaign when they received an email from the organization."

The church had planned on taking up a special offering on the last Sunday in February and students were collecting money from family and friends.

“We must decline the opportunity to be the beneficiary of your event due to our fundraising event criteria, which doesn’t allow community events to be religious in nature,” read an email from the WWP community events team. “Please note your registration fee will be refunded within the next 7-10 business days.”

WWP said as a nonpartisan organization they cannot accept event fundraising from companies “in which the product or message is religious in nature.”
The rest here, plus video.

Their decision seems to have unintentionally diverted the spotlight to their financial practices, and has prompted many to claim they will no longer donate to the charity.

On closer look, they don't do that well in terms of how they use donations.  According to the Charity Navigator:

Financial Performance Metrics
Program Expenses55.0%
Administrative Expenses8.0%
Fundraising Expenses36.8%
Fundraising Efficiency$0.30
Primary Revenue Growth49.0%
Program Expenses Growth43.1%
Working Capital Ratio (years) 0.50

That's not so great. Of similar organizations they have the lowest rating.

Executive Director Steven Nardizzi pockets a little over $319,000 annually, although a few of those other directors make more.

It was a foolish thing to do, considering religion has nothing to do with political partisanship, and religious people are the one who are more apt to donate to organizations like WWP.

Florida Stripper Claims Attacking Motorist Was 'Performance Art'

Obviously drunk, whacked out Florida stripper, Arlene Mena, tells the judge that the little stunt that landed her in court was performance art.

Judge doesn't buy it.

Florida Republicans Targets Of Voter Suppression

Democrats always piss and moan about Republican voter suppression and fraud, but they're totally mute when it's the reverse. They seem to think that only Republicans are willing and capable of trying to cheat to get their candidate elected. They cried foul with Florida's hanging chads back in 2000 that won George W. Bush the election, but have conveniently dismissed or forgotten about ACORN in 2008, which handed the White House over to Barack Obama.

So it won't be surprising to not see much fuss about the fact that Florida Republicans (a swing voter state that is needed to win this election) have been targets of voter fraud. It seems that someone has been sending Republicans a letter telling them their citizenship is in question, which would mean they'd be ineligible to vote.

According to Charles Callaghan who received one of those letters, postmarked from Seattle, Washington with no return address:

“Basically, when I read the letter, I got the impression that I was not going to be able to vote, because my citizenship was being questioned." “I wasn’t quite sure why it would be, because I was born in the United States, and I’ve always been a United States citizen, and nothing has changed in my life … that would cause my citizenship to be called into question.”
“I said to my wife, somebody is just trying to keep me from voting." “To put that doubt in my mind that I can’t vote and then not give me a way that I could dispute it — because they didn’t give me a phone number or address — they are thinking I am going to get frustrated and just not go vote. ”

Apparently, many of the people who reported receiving the letters had donated to the Republican Party or candidates, and were told they had 15 days to provide original proof of citizenship to be eligible to vote. Those responsible probably figured people would simply not bother to check out the information, and just not vote.

Florida State is investigating.

“The Florida Department of State unequivocally opposes all attempts at voter fraud or intimidation and will pursue every avenue to ensure free, fair and open elections for all eligible voters,” Florida
[snip]

“We’ve received multiple reports of a fraudulent letter that impersonates supervisors of elections and indicates that eligible voters might be ineligible,” Chris Cate, spokesman for the Division of Elections, explained to the Tampa Bay Times, which reported the letters have gone mostly — if not entirely — to Republicans in the state.

“We’re working with the state’s supervisors of elections, as well law enforcement, to identify the source of the letters and put a stop to them,” Cate said.

Florida To Dumb Down Educational Goals By Ethnicity

The Florida State Board of Education dumbing down the system depending on ethnicity? Talk about racist. This is outrageous.

Palm Beach, Fla. (CBS TAMPA) – The Florida State Board of Education passed a plan that sets goals for students in math and reading based upon their race.

On Tuesday, the board passed a revised strategic plan that says that by 2018, it wants 90 percent of Asian students, 88 percent of white students, 81 percent of Hispanics and 74 percent of black students to be reading at or above grade level. For math, the goals are 92 percent of Asian kids to be proficient, whites at 86 percent, Hispanics at 80 percent and blacks at 74 percent. It also measures by other groupings, such as poverty and disabilities, reported the Palm Beach Post.

The plan has infuriated many community activists in Palm Beach County and across the state.

“To expect less from one demographic and more from another is just a little off-base,” Juan Lopez, magnet coordinator at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Riviera Beach, told the Palm Beach Post.

JFK Middle has a black student population of about 88 percent.

“Our kids, although they come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, they still have the ability to learn,” Lopez said. “To dumb down the expectations for one group, that seems a little unfair.”

Others in the community agreed with Lopez’s assessment. But the Florida Department of Education said the goals recognize that not every group is starting from the same point and are meant to be ambitious but realistic.

As an example, the percentage of white students scoring at or above grade level (as measured by whether they scored a 3 or higher on the reading FCAT) was 69 percent in 2011-2012, according to the state. For black students, it was 38 percent, and for Hispanics, it was 53 percent.

HugObama Website Created In Response To Boycott of Obama Bear Hugging Pizza Owner

I so love liberal hypocrisy.

Apparently there was a call by conservatives to boycott Scott Van Duzer's pizza place after he gave Barack Obama a huge bear hug while the prez was visiting his Big Apple Pizza in Fort Pierce, Florida . Not really a good reason to boycott an establishment, then again neither is boycotting a franchised company because the corporate head happens to believe that traditional marriage is between  a man and a woman. Chik-fil-A has a policy of non-discrimination against anyone based on gender, race or sexual orientation, and yet liberals launched a huge nationwide boycott against the franchise, regardless of the fact that this could adversely affect the livelihoods of franchise owners and workers who might not have the same outlook on marriage as Dan Cathy.

Perhaps conservatives felt they needed to punish Van Duzer- a Republican who voted for Obama in 2008 and plans on doing it again- for his betrayal, or maybe it was payback time for the Chik-Fil-A boycott.  But Republicans have as much a right to call for a boycott as the Democrats do, although the liberals don't seem to think so.

Since those big bad GOPers started flooding his yelp account with negative comments (though they're all gone now), someone felt sorry enough for Van Duzer (and maybe it was Van Duzer himself) to create a "Hug Obama website",  complete with Hug Obama mugs, t-shirts and caps.

Ironically, the website www.hugobama.com says:

This simple act of appreciation has triggered a flood of negative commentary directed at both Mr. Van Duzer and his business. Internet flame wars have erupted on dozens of major sites in which many Republicans are claiming that Big Apple Pizza should be boycotted because of the hug.

Show your support for freedom of expression and American Business by hugging Obama yourself! Don't let political bullies dictate who we can and cannot support!
How's that for hypocrisy?!  It's perfectly okay for liberals to bully and dictate who Americans can and cannot support, but not vice versa.
