Missing Libyan Jetliners Could Be Used In Suicide Attacks

Islamist militias are currently battling over which group will take over Libya. They've already seized control of the capital, Tripoli, and they have control over the international airport there.  Including, allegedly, around 12 commercial jetliners.  Now western counter-terrorism folk are worried about what might happen when terrorists have in their possession  a dozen planes, especially with 9/11 fast approaching.

Intelligence reports of the stolen jetliners were distributed within the U.S. government over the past two weeks and included a warning that one or more of the aircraft could be used in an attack later this month on the date marking the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks against New York and Washington, said U.S. officials familiar with the reports.
“There are a number of commercial airliners in Libya that are missing,” said one official. “We found out on September 11 what can happen with hijacked planes.”
Nothing has officially been confirmed.

Katherine Russell, The Hijabi Wife of Boston Bomber Jihadi Tamerlan Tsarnaev

While MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry argues about the irrelevance of Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his wicked brother Dzokhar's Islamic faith- since "there is no evidence suggesting the suspected attackers may have embraced a radicalized version of Islam"more information is emerging indicating the bombers were not your run-of-the-mill secular Muslims. As much as liberals would like to believe.

The boys' mum started wearing a hijab in recent years, and Tamerlan's young Christian-turned-Muslim wife and mother of his child, Katherine Russell, also started wearing full Islamic garb.  Non-religious Muslims don't wear hijab nor do their husbands expect them to. Not to say that all religious Muslims are radicalized, but I would venture to say they could be one step away from that.

As for Tamerlan's wife, if we can believe her lawyer Amato DeLuca, it turns out that Katherine had no clue her husband was plotting to blow up innocent people.  Apparently she was too busy working her butt off as a home health care aide 70 - 80 hours per week, while her hubby took care of their 3-year-old daughter Zahara, and worked out the details of the Boston Marathon terrorist attack with his little bro.

According to DeLuca:

“When this allegedly was going on, she was working, and had been working all week to support her family."
Who knows if this is true or not, at least her lack of knowledge, but it's a little hard to believe that she would be so totally clueless since she lived in the same cramped apartment.

The DailyMail has some interesting information, as does AP's Big Story, on Katherine and how she became involved with Tamerlan. According to friends and others, this promising artist was dominated and influenced by her religious husband, a man she married in spite of being violently beaten up by him in 2009.

Too bad she took the wrong fork in the road when she married Tamerlan.

Florida Imam Convicted On 4 Counts Of Aiding Terrorists

77-year-old Hafiz Khan, the imam of a Miami mosque, could spend the rest of what little life he has left in jail after being convicted of monetarily supporting the Pakistani Taliban.

After a two month trial, the jury found Khan guilty of :

two conspiracy counts and two counts of providing material support to terrorists.
Khan will find out his fate on May 30th when Judge Robert Scola decides whether he will get the maximum sentence of 15 years for each count.

U.S. prosecutor Wilfredo Ferrer said of Khan:

"Despite being an imam, or spiritual leader, Hafiz Khan was by no means a man of peace." "Instead, he acted with others to support terrorists to further acts of murder, kidnapping and maiming."
According to the prosecutors, Khan shared the following with FBI undercover agents who recorded hundreds of conversations with the old man, including:

...support for Taliban attacks and discussed sending about $50,000 to Pakistan. There were also recordings in which Khan appeared to back the overthrow of Pakistan's government in favor of strict Islamic law, praised the killing of American military personnel and lauded the failed 2010 attempt to detonate a bomb in New York's Times Square.
Khan denies everything, and his son Irfan claims his dad has dementia, and was therefore unable to defend himself properly.
Khan, who testified over four combative days in his own defense, insisted the money he sent overseas was for family, charity and business reasons - above all, his religious school, known as a madrassa, in Pakistan's Swat Valley. Khan also said he repeatedly lied about harboring extremist views to obtain $1 million from a man who turned out to be an FBI informant wearing a wire to record their talk.
"That is not supporting terrorism," said Khan attorney Khurrum Wahid in a closing argument. "That is an old guy running a scam, who got scammed."
Prosecutors, however, said the purported $1 million offer was never heard on any tapes and no other witnesses testified about its existence. The informant, identified in court papers as Mahmood Siddiqui, did not testify.
Khan and Wahid intend on appealing the verdict.

The back story, in case you are not familiar with the case:
The case began with six defendants indicted in May 2011 but ended with only Khan on trial. Two of Khan's sons, Izhar and Irfan, were cleared of all charges and three more defendants have remained free in Pakistan, which does not extradite its citizens to face U.S. criminal charges.
One of those in Pakistan, Ali Rehman, testified via video link that he was not a Taliban fighter as U.S. prosecutors claim. Rehman said he owned a women's cosmetics store that the Taliban disliked because products showed photos of women. He said he handled more than $30,000 in financial transactions for Khan, mainly to invest in a potato chip factory run by Khan's son-in-law.
After Rehman's testimony, Pakistani authorities shut down the video link from an Islamabad hotel, leaving Khan without the testimony of 10 witnesses on his behalf.

If he was indeed aiding and abetting terrorists he deserves what he will get. If he was scamming, as his attorney attests, let that be a lesson, as well. Either way, he deserves to be punished, and hopefully this will deter others in this country from doing the same.

US female Christian Missionaries Warned About Terror Threats

There has been chatter about American female Christian missionaries potentially being targeted by terrorists in Egypt, so the U.S. has issued a warning telling them to watch their backs.

“The embassy has credible information suggesting terrorist interest in targeting U.S. female missionaries in Egypt,” the American mission in Cairo said in a statement on its website.
“Accordingly, U.S. citizens should exercise vigilance, taking necessary precautions to maintain their personal security,” it said, calling on Americans to ensure they can be contacted by diplomatic missions in case of emergency.

I'm actually surprised they allowed foreign Christian missionaries in Muslim majority countries?  I thought you could hang for proselytizing. Or maybe that's just ex-Muslims who are executed for apostasy.

Interesting how the only targets are female.

Lebanese and Syrian Officials Indicted For Terror Plots In Lebanon

Here's a bizarre story out of the Middle East.
The cast of characters: a former Lebanese Maronite Christian politician best buddies with Syria's Bashar al-Assad and in cahoots with the regime, a Lebanese man, a spy pen, and a Syrian general. The plot: kill Christians and Muslims in the northern part of Lebanon (Akkar). The objective: create sectarian violence between Sunni Muslims and Christians, and Sunnis and the bizarre Muslim Alawite sect (they celebrate Christmas!) to which Assad belongs.
Apparently, Michel Samaha (the former Lebanese minister) solicited a man (known only as 'Kfouri') to arrange for bomb attacks on Sunnis during their Ramadan Iftar fast-breaking banquets, at the same time that Christian Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi was due to visit the area. The targets were Syrian opposition and Sunni dignitaries.
Kfouri apparently went to the authorities with his story, convinced them that Samaha had asked him to "secure a group of trusted young men to transport explosive devices to the north and set them off there in exchange for a sum of money," the police handed him a handy dandy spy pen camera, and he was able to tape incriminating conversations with Samaha. With that evidence, including the exchange last Tuesday of $170,000 cash plus 24 explosive devices (four of which weighed 15 kilograms) Samaha was arrested, and subsequently indicted.

In one of the taped conversations Samaha was heard saying “this is what Bashar wants,” and also shared that the explosives had been given to him by Syrian Security Chief Major General Ali Mamlouk. Mamlouk and a Syrian colonel have also been charged. They all could get the death penalty for the failed plot.

Pro-Assad Hezbollah criticized the arrest, but what do you expect from a terrorist organization.

I guess Syria wants to pull Lebanon into its private hell.

Pakistan Doctor Who Helped Capture Bin Laden Sentenced To 33 Years UPDATE:

If there was any doubt that Pakistan knew about and harbored Osama Bin Laden for all those years in Abbottabad, set those doubts aside, because it's quite obvious they sympathized with one of the world's most infamous terrorists. They've always shown anger and disapproval over the killing of Bin Laden, and now they've sentenced Shakil Afridi, the doctor who was instrumental in capturing Bin Laden, to 33 years in jail for high treason. A man who should have been honored for helping rid the world of an incredibly evil man is instead being severely punished.

According to a Pakistani official, Nasir Khan, he has also been fined around $3,500, and if he doesn't pay up 3 1/2 years will be added to his sentence.

The U.S., of course, has asked for his release, and the State Department's Victoria Nuland said of the situation,

“Our views on it haven’t changed. We continue to see no basis for Dr. Afridi to be held,” Nuland said. “We will continue to make those representations to the government of Pakistan.”

When asked why she only referred to Afridi’s charges and did not acknowledge his actual conviction and sentencing, Nuland said: “It’s not clear that the legal process is over, OK? There may be other options for him legally.”

Since Afridi was charged with treason last year, the U.S. has been trying to get Pakistan to allow the good doctor and his family to come to the states, obviously to no avail. John McCain-R and Carl Levin-D of the Senate Ared Services Committee both have called the sentence "shocking and outrageous" and want him pardoned and released immediately.

“Dr. Afridi’s continuing imprisonment and treatment as a criminal will only do further harm to U.S.-Pakistani relations, including diminishing Congress’s willingness to provide financial assistance to Pakistan,” they warned.

Not that Pakistan cares. They've been pulling the proverbial fleece over our eyes for years, pretending to be allies when they're really not. They're no better than the terrorists they seem to aid and abet.

UPDATE: 5/31/12  Now Pakistan is claiming it had nothing to do with his CIA affiliation, but rather his alleged ties to militants.  Like that's believable.

10-Year-Old Afghan Suicide Bombers Arrested - Again - After Being Pardoned in 2011

Suicide bombers as  young as 8 are being recruited by the Taliban.   Radicalized in Madrassas in Pakistan they are told their bombs will kill the infidels but not themselves.  They figure the kids are great because no-one suspects them.

Last August, Afghan President Hamid Karzai pardoned 20 children (between the ages 8 and 17) who had been recruited as suicide bombers, and failed in their mission. Two of those pardoned kids (both 10) were caught once again, along with 3 armed adults in Kandahar. Of course, it was the children who were destined to blow themselves up, not the despicable adults.

One of the boys, Azizullah who is from Gardez City, Afghanistan said,

"Taliban recruited me last year to target foreign troops but police arrested me and President Karzai set me free and sent to an orphanage in Kabul. After passing sometimes there, I managed to flee and tried to target foreign forces again but again I was captured."  "Some Taliban last year, one day strapped a vest with some electric wires around my body and told me to press the button when you meet foreign soldiers on the streets or bazaar." "By pressing the button several soldiers will be killed and then you return home."

Nasibullah, the other 10-year-old boy from Balochistan, Pakistan, said,

"I along my family used to live in Pishin area of Balouchistan, Pakistan and used to study in a Madressa (religious school) there. One day Taliban recruited me and took me to Afghanistan. They provided training to me in Band-e-Timor area of Miwand district and after few days they took me to a road and told me to detonate whenever the foreign soldiers passing the road and then return home."

Apparently, upon release, these two young boys went straight back to Quetta, Pakistan for more training and were then shipped back to Afghanistan to try again. You can forgive them their youth and ignorance once, for believing the lies they are fed by their religious handlers, but twice?   Why were these kids not de-programmed by the Afghan government before they were pardoned and released? The kid from Pakistan wants to be pardoned again, claiming he had been cheated by a bunch of armed men.  I hope that doesn't happen before he's reeducated, for his sake and the sake of others.

Bungling Iranian Terrorist Blows Off His Legs In Bangkok

The Iranians have been very busy targeting Israelis in foreign countries: Georgia, India, and now (more than likely) Thailand. Of course, they have denied any involvement in the bombings, and we should believe them because, after all, they don't lie. Remember, the assassination plot against the Saudi Ambassador to the U.S.?  All lies- until a source told Al Arabiya that the Revolutionary Guard was definitely involved

And although no-one is quite sure who the Bangkok targets were meant to be, Iranians can't deny it was one of their own since Saeid Moradi was caught red handed, although minus a few legs.

Moradi and two Iranian cohorts had been playing with bombs in their house when something happened and part of the roof  blew up.  The two cohorts escaped leaving a wounded Moradi behind.

According to Reuters, Police General Bansiri Prapapat told them

“He tried to wave down a taxi, but he was covered in blood, and the driver refused to take him.” He then threw an explosive at the taxi and began running.

Police who had been called to the area then tried to apprehend Moradi, who hurled a grenade to defend himself. “But somehow it bounced back” and blew off his legs, Pansiri said.
Oops.  A little instant karma there, since unfortunately four others were injured.

Pansiri claimed they found Moradi's "Iranian" passport, that Phuket was his point of entry on February 8, and that a bag was found with U.S. dollars, Iranian and Thai money.
A second suspect, Mohammad Hazaei, was apprehended at the international airport on his way to Malaysia. The third suspect is still at large.

Iran has remained mum regarding the Bangkok blasts. Guess you can't deny anything when it's quite clear the suspect is Iranian.

But I'm sure this won't be the end of the attacks, and Iran will continue to deny any involvement, if they can.

Islamic Violence Burns Down 8 Churches In Nigeria and Blows Up Hotel In Philippines

I picked up my local paper this morning and discovered that those harbingers of peace and enlightenment were busy this past weekend, as per usual.

Boko Haram, Islamic extremists-cum-terrorists, had a field day attacking Christians, burning down eight churches, a bank (which they robbed), a police station and several local businesses in Geidam, in northeastern Nigeria.

"The Geidam divisional police headquarters and First Bank were bombed on Saturday evening by Boko Haram and fire was exchanged into the night between police and Boko Haram members," a police spokesman told reporters. "Four policemen were killed, 20 wounded, eight churches and 20 market stalls as well as Geidam council secretariat are completely destroyed."

No-one knows the exact casualty count, yet, but they managed to kill over 100 people during an attack the beginning of November, in the capital of Damaturu.

Even though southern Nigeria is mostly Christian and the north is predominately Muslim, Boko Haram, which means "Western education is forbidden"  is hell-bent on establishing Shariah Law in all regions of the country.

Then we have the bomb blast that literally blew off the roof of a modest two story hotel in Zamboanga, Philippines. Although not directly linked  to a local Christian wedding that was being hosted there on Monday,  it is being blamed on one of that country's small but deadly Islamic terrorist groups Abu Sayyaf. At least 3 people were killed and over 27 wounded in the blast, two seriously injured. Apparently, Abu Sayyaf had planned two attacks, one in Isabela City where a bomb was defused near a local business. Authorities believe the owner was being extorted and refused to pay. The owner of the hotel in Zamboanga denies any extortion threats. Abu Sayyaf are bucking for an independent Islamic state in Mindanao.

Interesting to note that not only are they religious extremists, they're also common criminals.

All in a weekend's work for the religion of peace.

Taliban Breeding Child Suicide Bombers in Pakistan

The Palestinians aren't the only ones who breed their children as suicide bombers. It seems the same thing is happening in Pakistan and Afghanistan. BBC reporter Orla Guerin interviews a young  13-year-old Pakistani  who managed to escape from the Taliban after she was scheduled to blow herself up.  According to Meena, her 8-year-old sister was fitted with a bomb, placed in a car and was never seen again.

Tragic.

U.S. General Fired For Telling The Truth About Karzai and the Afghan Government

U.S. Major General Peter Fuller, Nato's deputy commander in charge of training in Afghanistan, was recently fired for being uber-candid about President Karzai and the situation in Afghanistan. Thing is, he was absolutely correct, and although he probably should not have made public those sentiments, he verbalized what most people think about Karzai's nebulous leadership skills, and major lack of gratitude.

About a month ago, Karzai had claimed that trying to deal with the Taliban was pointless, and blamed Pakistan for harboring militants.  Then just weeks later, he turned around and said that if the U.S. were to engage in a war with Pakistan, he would side with Pakistan, since Afghans would "never betray their brothers."

Of course Karzai would side with his Muslim brothers over infidel Westerners, in spite of the fact that the U.S. (and its allies) has been fighting their terrorists for all these years and pumping money into a losing battle.  In response, Fuller said of Karzai in an interview on politico.com:

“Why don’t you just poke me in the eye with a needle! You’ve got to be kidding me … I’m sorry, we just gave you $11.6 billion and now you’re telling me, ‘I don’t really care’? When they are going to have a presidential election, you hope they get a guy that’s more articulate in public”

A recent meeting Fuller had with Afghan generals revealed how utterly clueless they are.

“I said, ‘You guys are isolated from reality.’ The reality is, the world economy is having some significant hiccups. The U.S. is in this [too],” Fuller told POLITICO. “If you’re in a very poor country like Afghanistan, you think that America has roads paved in gold, everybody lives in Hollywood. They don’t understand the sacrifices that America is making to provide for their security. And I think that’s part of my job to educate ’em.”

According to Fuller, the Afghans had requested  battle tanks to

“put them on a flat bed and drive them around in a parade. You can teach a man how to fish, or you can give them a fish. We’re giving them fish while they’re learning, and they want more fish! [They say,] ‘I like swordfish, how come you’re giving me cod?’ Guess what? Cod’s on the menu today.”

$11.6 billion is a hell of a lot of money to be diverting from a country in need (the U.S.)  to a country that would rather side with a nation that has been prolonging the war on terror by harboring terrorists and thereby contributing to the continuing chaos in that land.  Had either Afghanistan or Pakistan truly wanted to rout terrorism from the region, it would have happened billions upon billions of dollars ago.

At least someone had the guts to tell the truth.

Basque Terrorist Group ETA Calls For A Cease-Fire

ETA- the socialist Basque separatist-cum-terrorist group that has been terrorizing northern Spain and southern France for the past 40 years- has declared that they will finally cease blowing people up. Or so they say.  Apparently they were inspired to do so after the recent International Peace Conference held in Basque country. Headlined by former U.N. Secretary Kofi Annan and a bunch of Irish delegates who are more than well equipped to offer their advice, the ETA was encouraged

"to make a public declaration of the definitive cessation of all armed action and to request talks with the governments of Spain and France to address exclusively the consequences of the conflict".

They also "urged" the French and Spanish governments to "welcome" such talks "to deal with the consequences of the conflict", if ETA decided to comply.

Missing from the conference, however, was the Spanish government and the main conservative opposition Popular Party, both of which believe another ceasefire is not enough and that ETA should simply lay down their arms and be done with it.

Apparently ETA did take all that advice to heart and on Thursday October 20, several members (masked and dressed in black) made a statement declaring ETA had ceased all its 'armed activity' and that it
".. calls upon the Spanish and French governments to open a process of direct dialogue with the aim of addressing the resolution of the consequences of the conflict and, thus, to overcome the armed confrontation. Thorough this historical declaration, Eta shows its clear, solid and definitive commitment."

Long live the free Euskal Herria! Long live Basque socialism! No rest until independence and socialism!

ETA was responsible for over 800 deaths over 4 decades, including well over 300 civilians, of course that number pales in comparison to the over 17,800 Islamist terrorist attacks since 9/11.

Read ETA's full statement here.

Sources: eitb, GuardianUK, NY Times,
For now, that is. As with most terrorist groups, when demands are not met, cease-fires are broken, as ETA has done in the past.  And they do have demands, including their continued aim for Basque independence, as evidencced in the last few sentences of their 'cease-fire statement':

One Israeli Soldier For 1,000 Plus Palestinian Terrorists- The Gilad Shalit Exchange

I was actually convinced that Gilad Schalit-  the young Israeli soldier kidnapped five years ago by Hamas militants- was dead. After all these years it just didn't seem likely, given the amount of hatred and animosity the Palestinians bear towards the Israelis.  I'm certainly happy he's allegedly  still alive, but I'm not so convinced trading one soldier  for over 1,000 convicted Palestinian terrorist is such a good idea.

Some of those Palestinians include terrorists like Nasser Iteima, who was one of those responsible for arranging a suicide bomb blast that killed 30 people, during Passover no less, at the Park Hotel in 2002. 140 people were injured.  Aziz Zalha, was one of the lynch mob animals who murdered two Israeli IDF reservists in Ramallah. Zalha is the one waving his bloodied hands in the above photo.

The soldiers were beaten, stabbed, had their eyes gouged out, and were disemboweled. At this point, a Palestinian (later identified as Aziz Salha), appeared at the police station window, displaying his blood-stained hands to the crowd, which erupted into cheers. One of the soldier's bodies was then thrown out the window and stamped and beaten by the enraged mob. One of the bodies was set on fire. Soon after, the mob dragged the two mutilated bodies to Al-Manara Square in the city center as the crowd began an impromptu victory celebration.

Along with those behind the planned Sbarro Pizzeria suicide bombing which killed men, women and 7 children, and the Dolphinarium Disco massacre, which killed 21 teens and injured 132. Then there's those involved in the Cafe Moment (Jerusalem) attack  where a suicide bomber blew up 11 people, injuring 54. There are others, of course.

So 1,000 plus militants are being released back home to join the ranks of their fellow extremists. 477 now and 550 in 2 months.  That's 1,000 more terrorists ready and more than willing and now able to focus their energy on the continued fight to eradicate the Jews in Israel. Their time in jail will probably have further fueled their hatred for the Israelis.

And negotiating with terrorists sets a terrible precedence.  Hamas is already talking about kidnapping more soldiers to free the rest of the Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.

Abu Obaida, spokesman for the armed wing of Hamas, Izzadin Kassam said that Schalit, who is set to be released as part of a prisoner exchange deal, "will not be the last solider kidnapped by Hamas as long as Israel keeps Palestinian prisoners detained."

I'm happy for Schalit's family, but I fear for the other soldiers that will inevitably be targeted, and for the Israelis who will have an army of 1,000 more Palestinians ready to wage war against them.

Yes, Virginia, Al-Qaeda Exists- Latest Issue Of Al-Qaeda's 'Inspire' Magazine

There are actually fools who don't believe that Al-Qaeda exists, or that it's a CIA fabrication. I personally know some of them, and those same people believe 9/11 was a conspiracy.  I'm not quite sure who they think rammed those planes into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, and what entities are responsible for all the ongoing violence and savagery.  But  they refuse to acknowledge that evil exists in the form of religious Islamic extremism, and would rather blame the U.S. government (mostly under G.W. Bush's tenure) for all the ills of the world.

I guess they haven't seen Al-Qaeda's slick online English language magazine, Inspire, downloadable from the various jihadi sites that post it.  The latest issue (#7) that Blazing Catfur downloaded and posted here, is worth a look, for all the doubters.  Then again, I'm sure they will claim it too is a fabrication.

Not sure what will happen with future issues since Anwar Al-Awlaki was offed, as Inspire was his pet project, but I'm sure someone will carry on the legacy.  There will always be another roach looking for his 72 virgins, or willing to inspire others to get their 72.

The latest edition was a special 9/11 edition. The editor in chief Yahya Ibrahim says:

As for conspiracy theories, there's a particularly interesting article about Iran's stance on the issue:

The Iranian government has professed on the tongue of its president Ahmadinejad that it does not believe that al Qaeda was behind 9/11 but rather, the U.S. government. So we may ask the question: why would Iran ascribe to such a ridiculous belief that stands in the face of all logic and evidence?
Ridiculous indeed!

H/T: Blazing Catfur
[Snip] 9/11 was neither the beginning of the war between the Muslims and the West nor was it the end. It was merely an episode in a long, protracted war that started at the time of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and will end with al-Malĥama, the epic battle mentioned in the hadith. [snip]

Afghan's Karzai Gives Up On Taliban- Blames Pakistan For Harboring Militants

After years of trying to negotiate peace with the Taliban, Afghan's President Hamid Karzai has come to the conclusion that the whole effort is pointless.  What I want to know is what took him (and everyone else, including our fearless leader) so darn long?!

The violence has never stopped, regardless of the  efforts  to bring the Taliban to the table, fruitless as they were.  The Taliban even scoffed at our efforts back in 2009 to reach out.  Afghan civilians are as much a target as NATO soldiers and Afghan officials, but it took an alleged 'peace emmisary' to blow up former President Burhanuddin Rabbani, in his own home to boot,  for  Karzai to finally realize it 'aint ever gonna happen. I never thought it would, violence is far too ingrained in that segment of society. The Taliban will never give up its goal of returning that country to full Taliban leadership.  They don't want things to progress into the 21st century, they want life to return to the same dark ages when Sharia was law, and women remained barefoot, pregnant and covered up, at home.

And Karzai isn't just blaming the Taliban for the lack of progress, he's joined the U.S. in condemning Pakistan for what he believes to be collusion, and actually threatened to go to the international community if Pakistan doesn't do something about harboring militants.  Yeah, good luck with that.

Afghan  Minister Bismullah Khan Mohammadi actually believes Pakistan's spy service- Inter-Services Intelligence agency- (ISI) was somehow involved in the assassination of Rabbani.

"Without any doubt, ISI, is involved in this."
I'm sure he's right, and there are many who would concur, including U.S. officials who believe that the ISI has ties to the insurgents for various reasons.

Critics have accused the Pakistani government of protecting Taliban leaders to maintain good relations with the group in anticipation of Western forces' eventual withdrawal from the country — an allegation denied by Pakistan. Many analysts also believe the ISI's alleged support for insurgent groups is an attempt to promote Pakistan's interests in Afghanistan and counter the influence of archenemy India, which Karzai plans to visit this week.

Of course, Pakistan's official response to Karzai and Mohammadi's accusations were met with quite a different reaction then when General Mullen recently accused them of some of the same things.  Of course, the Pakistanis categorically denied any involvement in the killing of Rabbani-  then again they deny everything even though most of the Taliban leadership reside in Pakistan and  Osama Bin Laden was living high on the hog smack dab in a fortressed mansion in Pakistan for years. But, in this case, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani called Karzai a brother and a friend and called the whole thing a misunderstanding, saying,

"If any intelligence sharing or any cooperation is required, God willing, we will provide that," Gilani said in his hometown of Multan, Pakistan. "We will help them, but they cannot doubt us."
Doubt us?  The one thing about lying is that you can tell me you aren't lying but that doesn't mean you aren't.. It's actually allowed in Islam- it's called al-Taqiyya.

Like the Palestinian situation, I don't see much hope of resolution. Too many factors and issues that will never be resolved, at least in my lifetime.

Ron Paul and ACLU Condemn Killing Of American-Born Hate Preacher Anwar Al-Awla

It looks like one of our Predator drones finally snagged  Islamist terror Imam Anwar al-Awlaki, along with Samir Khan of al-Qaeda's internet magazine "Inspire".  Both of them were born in the U.S. and were instrumental in inspiring others to jihad. Al-Awlaki's hate sermons were directly responsible for inspiring Major Nidal Malik Hasan (the Fort Hood Massacre) and the Christmas underwear bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

In spite of the fact that al-Awlaki was indirectly responsible for the deaths of innocent people, and won't be missed,  the condemnations are starting to roll in. And from sources as diverse as Ron Paul (there are actually people eager to vote for him in the 2012 presidential election!)  and the more obvious American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Paul called it an "assassination", the ACLU a 'dangerous' precedent-  I call it good fortune, and what took so long.

Of course, this isn't the first time the ACLU has criticized the fact we had al-Awlaki on our "kill or capture" list. In fact Anwar's father, Nasser, solicited the ACLU's help in trying to sue the government to take him off that list, to no avail.  Then again, daddy thought his son was a good "all-American boy" who would love nothing more than return to the U.S. I wonder if pops knew about his penchant for prostitutes.

Interviewed by CNN last year, the educated Yemeni doctor, was convinced his son was innocent and had nothing to do with al-Qaeda:
"He has been wrongly accused, it's unbelievable. He lived his life in America, he's an all-American boy. My son would love to go back to America, he used to have a good life in America. Now he's hiding in the mountains, he doesn't even have safe water to drink."

And when it was common knowledge that Anwar was hiding out somewhere in the southern part of Yemen, with his al-Qaeda cohorts,  papa al-Awlaki thought otherwise:

"What do you expect my son to do? There are missiles raining down on the village. He has to hide. But he is not hiding with al Qaeda, our tribe is protecting him right now."

Although adamant about his son not associating with terrorists, nor being one, nor encouraging others to commit terrorist acts (in spite of proof to the contrary) he does concede that his attitude changed after being incarcerated in Yemen in 2006.

"They put him in jail for 18 months, and I detected a change after he got out of prison. He began to get away from the mainstream, he is a preacher. You cannot tie Anwar to acts of terrorism."

Has papa asked himself why his son was jailed for 18 months? And the further deluded dad seemed to think he could convince his son to give himself up:

Nasser said he would do his best to convince his son to surrender "but they are not giving me time, they want to kill my son. How can the American government kill one of their own citizens? This is a legal issue that needs to be answered."

Terrorism is far from a legal issue. Terrorists do not abide by any laws other than their own, and they happen to be cruel, barbaric and unjust. You lose your right to citizenship when you inspire others to commit acts of terror against your own country.

Good riddance to both of them.

Hezbollah Training Mexican Drug Cartels Across Our Borders

There is reason to believe that Lebanese Hezbollah is stockpiling arms and training drug cartels in Mexico.  The ties aren't all that surprising, since there's certainly no difference between narco terrorism and Islamist terrorism in terms  of the violence.  The similarities in brutality and barbarism are astounding.

So now, not only do we have to contend with the drug violence on our borders, we have  Islamists waiting for easy entry.

What a comforting thought.

"Losing Our Sons" Documentary Film About The Radicalization Of American Muslims

Few people are taking the threat of Islamic radicalization very seriously, in spite of the fact that it is occurring all over this country.  One would think that those who would most easily fall prey to radicalization would reside in areas like Dearborn, Michigan, considered the Muslim capital of America. But that's not the case- Nashville, Tennessee, home of country music and the Grand Ole Opry, and smack dab in the middle of the 'Bible Belt',  has the dubious honor of being the city where Carlos Bledsoe, now known as Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, turned into a cold blooded killer.

Born into a Baptist family, 23-year-old Carlos went to Tennessee State University, converted to Islam, was radicalized by local extremist leaders, made his obligatory trek to Yemen, learned the tricks of the terrorist trade, came back to the U.S. and wound up murdering 23-year-old Private William Long, on June 6, 2009, outside an Army recruitment center in Little Rock, Arkansas.   He injured one other Army recruiter, and had planned on targeting  Jewish organizations, a child care center, a post office and other recruitment centers in other states.

Before and after photos of Carlos are quite telling, as is his justification for killing Private Long:

"I don't think it was murder. Because murder is when a person kills another person without justified reason....and what I did is Islamic justified, and also justified by common sense, you know. U.S. soldiers are killing innocent Muslim men and women, and we believe that we have to strike back."

An upcoming documentary film, entitled "Losing Our Sons", produced by Americans For Peace and Tolerance (APT) tells the tragic tale of Carlos' journey from good son to jihadi killer. APT is an organization of Christians, Muslims and Jews  "... dedicated to promoting peaceful coexistence in a ethnically diverse America by educating the American public about the need for a moderate political leadership that supports tolerance and core American values in communities across the nation."

The film

.. will reveal how radical Islam dominates the leadership of the Muslim American community in Nashville; and how misguided government and university officials, the media, as well as civic and religious leaders failed to acknowledge, intervene, or report clear indications of Islamist radicalization in the community.

APT has been working with grassroots community groups in support of local efforts to educate the public about the threat to American civil society from the radicalization of America's historically moderate Muslim community. This effort includes empowering truly moderate Muslims to reclaim their community.

You can view the trailer below.  Hopefully, this will open people's eyes because thinking it's not a problem doesn't make it so. Carlos' father, Melvin Bledsoe, is devastated and has effortlessly tried to make people aware of what happened to his son on an American university campus.  Apparenly not many seemed to care, and even his attempt to share his concerns at Republican Congressman Peter King's hearing on the radicalization of  American Muslims for the Homeland Security Committee fell on deaf ears.

Libyan Woman Alleging Gang Rape By Gaddafi's Soldiers Dragged Away By Government Minders

I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to live as a woman in a Muslim country, let alone during times of upheaval. As much as Islamic scholars and others love to claim that women are revered and considered as equals in their religion, it's far from the truth. The majority of Muslim men have little to no respect for their women folk and we witness that lack of respect time and again.

Here's a very distraught Libyan woman who showed up today at a hotel in Tripoli where foreign journalists are corralled alleging she was beaten and gang-raped by 15 of Gaddafi's goons. What ensues is a harrowing encounter between hotel staff-cum-government minders who dragged the poor woman away while journalists tried to help her. At one point you can see someone actually trying to place a sack over her head, and we later see her being shoved into a car. Who knows what will happen to her, but I'm sure it doesn't bode well.

Another video, showing more of the scuffle between those intent on shutting her up and those journalists trying to protect her.
