TV Skit Mocks Nasrallah, Protests In Lebanon Ensue

A Lebanese TV skit mocking Hezbollah's head honcho Hassan Nasrallah so enraged his supporters, they did what Muslim extremists do best- flocked to the streets in protest and burned tires. LBC TV's comedy show 'Basmat Watan' has targeted Nasrallah before, and as far as the producer Charbel Khalil is concerned, religious figures are fair game. Since he also happens to be a political figure, others believe there's nothing wrong with mocking him.

This week’s program poked jokes at Hezbollah's role in Syria, with Nasrallah's character lamenting what he said was a late intervention.
"Our weapons should have included planes and submarines," he said.

There is a video news report on this on Al Arabiya.

No sense of humor.

EU Designates Armed Wing Of Hezbollah Terrorist Organization

The European Union (EU) has finally designated the armed military wing of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.  It was a unanimous decision on the part of the 28 EU member nations.
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle told a news conference in Brussels that the decision is meant to send a clear signal that the EU will not tolerate terrorism on its soil.

"I welcome that together we made a crystal clear decision today in the fight against terrorism," he said. "We will put Hizballah's military arm on the list of terrorist groups. Terrorist activities inside of the European Union are unacceptable and will be met with [a] resolute, decisive, and, above all, joint response by Europe."

More here.

It's about time, although there are some who believe that sanctions will have little to no impact on the organization.

The EU joins the UK in designating the military wing as a terrorist group. Australia has listed the External Security Organization as a terrorist organization. And the following have designated the entire organization:  Bahrain, Canada, France, Gulf Cooperation Council, Israel, Netherlands.

Hezbollah's Nasrallah- Kill All Involved In Anti-Islam Film "Innocence of Muslims"

Hassan Nasrallah, head honcho of Hezbollah, wants Nakoula Basseley Nakoula and everyone else involved in that anti-Islam film, "Innocence of Muslims", dead. It doesn't matter that the bulk of the cast and crew had no clue what they were involved with. Nah, he wants blood.

Nasrallah's fatwa has called upon all Muslim youth, particularly those in the West, to do the dirty deed.

"I issue a fatwa and call on the Muslim youth in America and Europe to do this duty, which is to kill the director, the producer and the actors and everyone who helped and promoted the film,"
Amazing to think that the Lebanese, who you don't think of as quite so 'backwards' as some other citizens of Muslim majority countries, voted for Nasrallah and Hezbollah in a democratic election.

And here's some irony for you: apparently, Salmon Rushdie- who is himself a targeted man- believes Nakoula deserves it. On the Today Show, Rushdie said:

"He [Nakoula] did it on purpose. He set out to create a response and he got it in spades," he said.

"He's done something malicious, and that's a very different thing from writing a serious novel. He's clearly set out to provoke, and he's obviously unleashed a much bigger reaction than he hoped for. I mean, one of the problems with defending free speech is you often have to defend people that you find to be outrageous and unpleasant and disgusting."

Yes, disgusting, but calling for someone's death is even more disgusting.

Nasrallah's Zionist Gay Cat: Joke of the day

Hezbollah's Hassan Nasrallah crying over his Zionist gay cat. Ha!

The video comes from Blame It On The Zionists

And the original: Nasrallah crying for Imam Hussein ibn ali (the Shia's 3rd Imam)  during Ashura Commemoration a few years back.

President Of Syria's Main Opposition Group Would Cut Ties With Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas

Here's some potentially positive news out of a region that has been progressively turning further away from the West. With Tunisia, Libya Morocco and now Egypt voting for Islamists (historically anti-Israel and anti-West), the Syrian Nation Council, Syria's main opposition group, has said  that if elected it plans on cutting ties with Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah.

In a Wall Street Journal interview its president, Burhan Ghalioun,  said

“There will be no special relationship with Iran,” Ghalioun, a 66-year-old university professor, told the Journal in an interview at his home in Paris.

“Breaking the exceptional relationship means breaking the strategic, military alliance,” he said, adding that “after the fall of the Syrian regime, (Hezbollah) won’t be the same.”
Long time allies with Iran, Syria has been suspected of supporting Lebanon's Hezbollah and Palestine's Hamas.  At one point during the height of the Iraq War there was also speculation that Saddam Hussein had transported those infamous "weapons of mass destruction" (WMD) to Syria. No-one knows for sure if that ever happened, but cutting ties with Iran and the supply lines for those two terrorist organizations could have a major  impact on that whole region.  With more countries turning Islamist in the Middle East and North Africa, Israel needs as many pro-West friends as possible.  Not that Syria would embrace Israel with open arms, under a Ghalioun leadership.  They do still have their sight set on the Golan Heights, but  Ghalioun said that they would try to regain that land through negotiations rather than violence.  Israel captured the plateau during the 1967  '6 Day War.  The Israelis might be more willing to compromise knowing they won't be facing violence from the Syrian border.

In the interview, Ghalioun also asked the international community for help in toppling the Assad family's dictatorial 40-year rule, by calling for a

".. more robust international support for the rebels, including the possible establishment of a no-fly zone.

“Our main objective is finding mechanisms to protect civilians and stop the killing machine,” Ghalioun said.

“We say it is imperative to use forceful measures to force the regime to respect human rights.”
But who are these Syrian rebel fighters?  I think Libya's rebel forces taught the world a major lesson- since a once semi-secular country will now embrace Shariah Law, courtesy of those same rebels who fought long and hard to gain their freedom from a controlling, power-hungry dictator.

Of course, the Syrians still have to deal with an unbudging president Bashar al-Assad, and undoubtedly more violence and many more deaths before there is any regime change over there.  But it's promising.

Hezbollah Training Mexican Drug Cartels Across Our Borders

There is reason to believe that Lebanese Hezbollah is stockpiling arms and training drug cartels in Mexico.  The ties aren't all that surprising, since there's certainly no difference between narco terrorism and Islamist terrorism in terms  of the violence.  The similarities in brutality and barbarism are astounding.

So now, not only do we have to contend with the drug violence on our borders, we have  Islamists waiting for easy entry.

What a comforting thought.

While Israel Mourns, Palestinians And Lebanese Celebrate: Regev, Goldwasser and Kuntar And The Dangerous Precedent of Prisoner Swaps

Something is drastically wrong with the following picture.

The lifeless bodies of 2 kidnapped Israeli soldiers, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, unceremoniously traded for 5, very much alive, PLF terrorists, one of whom mercilessly murdered an innocent 4 year old child.

In 1979, Samir Kuntar, a Lebanese teen and member of Abu Abbas's Palestinian Liberation Front (PLF), stormed an apartment building with fellow terrorists in search of Israelis to kill, and made off with Danny Haran and his 4 year old daughter Einat. Shooting and then drowning Danny in the ocean, in front of his little one so it would be the last thing she remembered, Kuntar then proceeded to beat and smash Einat's head against a rock with the butt of his rifle until she was dead. The mother Smadar, her 2 year old daughter Yael and a neighbour were able to hide, but in an effort to keep the terrorists from discovering their hiding place, Smadar inadvertently smothered her child to death. In prison for life, for the murders of Einat, Danny and several others, unrepentant Kuntar now has his freedom, and has even vowed to return to jihad upon his release, which no doubt he will. In a letter to Hezbollah head, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Kuntar wrote

"My dear and respectable master and commander, Peace be with you and with our shahids (martyrs). I give you my promise and oath that my only place will be in the fighting front soaked with the sweat of your giving and with the blood of the shahids, the dearest people, and that I will continue your way until we reach a full victory. I send my best wishes and promise of renewed loyalty to you, sir, and to all the Jihad fighters."
And while Israel mourns their 2 fallen heroes, the Palestinians, Hezbollah (which brokered the deal) and others celebrate and salute the 5 living and some 200 dead terrorists as heroes and martyrs. Palestinian Fatah leader, Mahmoud Abbas, sent congratulations and blessings to Kuntar and his family. The Palestinian Authority media has also been awash with praise and congratulatory messages for Kuntar et al and their families.

Excuse me while I wretch.

Regev and Goldwasser were alive when captured in 2006; one would expect, in a civilized world, that they would still be alive, but what should we expect from a people who glorify death more than life and who would love nothing more than to have that region devoid of all Israelis. So while Hezbollah murdered the 2 captured soldiers (so much for the rules of engagement and the Geneva Convention), Kuntar was allowed to marry, although he eventually divorced the woman, and received a degree in social and political science.

Excuse me while I wretch.

And, although I mourn with the families of Goldwasser and Regev, what has this exchange accomplished other than the ability to bury their sons with dignity and respect, if the bodies are even theirs? Sadly, nothing! It simply proves to the Arab world that all they have to do is capture some Israeli soldiers (and civilians next?), and they will have the leverage to broker the release of even more terrorists from Israeli prisons. And it seems to matter not whether the soldiers are alive or dead, so they have nothing to lose if they kill them.

So, now we have 5 more terrorists back on the streets, ready, willing and able to carry on their jihad. This has set a dangerous precedent, that Israel might never recover from.

Rest in peace Eldad and Ehud.
