Robert De Niro Willing To Give Trump A Chance

Remember during the contentious presidential campaign when Robert De Niro told us he'd like to punch would-be-president Donald Trump in the face, saying:
“He’s a punk, he’s a dog, he’s a pig, he’s a con, a bullshit artist…he talks about how he’d like to punch people in the face. Well, I’d like to punch him in the face.”
Well, now he's decided to wait and hope.

His message to President-Elect Trump:
“I would only say that we’re all hoping, waiting and hoping, that he will lead the country in a way that’ll benefit everyone and benefit our neighbors around the world...
“We’re waiting and hoping, and we’ll see.”
Good for him, at least he's willing to give Trump a chance, unlike the myriad of angry liberals trying to find any way they can to get Hillary Clinton into the White House.

Muslim Woman's Open Letter Responding To Ben Affleck Calling Criticism Of Islam "Gross and Racist"

As we all know liberal actor Ben Affleck called criticism of Islam "gross and racist" during an episode of the Bill Maher show, with Maher- a liberal who gets the radical Islam problem.  Well, it appears there are Muslims who believe Ben's argument, though well intentioned, was actually harmful.

Eiynah, a Canadian/Pakistani blogger, has written an open letter to Affleck discussing just how harmful it was.  The op-ed was published on Pakistan Today.

Dear Ben,

I am writing to you today as a woman who was born and raised in Islam. I saw your discussion with Bill Maher and Sam Harris, and I must say you did me a great disservice that day. Your heart was in the right place, of course, and it was lovely of you to step up and defend ‘my people’.

What you really did though, perhaps inadvertently, was silence a conversation that never gets started. Two people attempted to begin a dialogue and you wouldn’t even listen. Why should any set of ideas be above criticism, Ben?

Why are Muslims being ‘preserved’ in some time capsule of centuries gone by? Why is it okay that we continue to live in a world where our women are compared to candy waiting to be consumed? Why is it okay for women of the rest of the world to fight for freedom and equality while we are told to cover our shameful bodies? Can’t you see that we are being held back from joining this elite club known as the 21st century?

Noble liberals like yourself always stand up for the misrepresented Muslims and stand against the Islamophobes, which is great but who stands in my corner and for the others who feel oppressed by the religion? Every time we raise our voices, one of us is killed or threatened. I am a blogger and illustrator, no threat to anyone, Ben, except for those afraid of words and drawings. I want the freedom to express myself without the very real fear that I might be killed for it. Is that too much to ask?

[snip]

What you did by screaming ‘racist!’ was shut down a conversation that many of us have been waiting to have. You helped those who wish to deny there are issues, deny them. You became an instant hero, a defender of Islam. It’s kind, it really is. I understand because I too am plagued and affected by the issues brought about by actual Islamophobia. I have a Muslim name and brown skin, my peaceful relatives have been pushed in the subway and called ‘terrorist’ for no reason.

[snip]

Can we talk about the blatant double standards and violation of human rights, for a second? Mosques are built throughout western countries, usually without much issue. But in the hub of Islam, the heart of Islam, Saudi Arabia, no one but Muslims are allowed to officially practice their faith. There are no churches, temples or synagogues because Saudi Arabia will not permit any non-Muslim place of worship to exist. Who will hold them accountable for such injustice if we hush everyone who speaks out against Islam?
The whole letter here.

Brave woman, since she's already received death threats for an anti-homophobia children's book she wrote titled: My Chacha (uncle) is Gay.

Good luck Eiynah.

"Terrorists Are Human' Claims "Twilight Actress" Kristen Stewart

Star of the "Twilight" series, Kristen Stewart,  has piped in on terrorism claiming that terrorists are only human. Really?  People who behead and blow up innocent men women and children, rape and enslave non-Muslim females, are human? Well, if that's considered human, I want no part of humanity.  Terrorists might inhabit human bodies, but they are far from human.

Apparently, this comment was made during an interview with the leftist online rag The Daily Beast. She stars as a military police officer in Camp X-Ray, who befriends a detainee in Gitmo. Director Peter Sattler had wanted the film to be apolitical, but I'm not sure how possible that might be considering the subject matter.

Marlow Stern asked Stewart about the relationship between the detainee and Stewart's character:

Your character’s relationship with Peyman’s detainee reminds us of the humanity of these people. We tend to view suspected terrorists as this nameless, faceless “other,” when they’re human beings, too.
Stewart's response:

As Americans, we should absolutely aspire to more than that. If you label something “bad,” people will justify the most terrible things. Just because you’re following a greater whole, suddenly you take the individual out of it and no one bears responsibility for anything."

The rest of the discussion regarding Camp X-Ray:

Stern:

She really gets swept up in all the post 9/11 patriotism and signs up for Gitmo duty, only to find that it isn’t what she thought at all.
Stewart:

She’s simple, not very smart, and really socially inadequate—but a good person. So, if you can sign up, put a uniform on, and erase yourself, you don’t have to consider yourself anymore. You can take the individual out of it and say, “Well, this dignifies me. I’m good because of this.” And when that doesn’t end up being true, you actually have to contend with who you are. All she wants is to think, “They did 9/11, they’re bad, fuck that, I’m going to do my job and I’m going to do it well.” But then she gets down there and just can’t accept it; she can’t conform to that.
Stern:
Right. The mistake we make is not viewing these detainees down there as people, too. We’re all people.
Stewart:

That is essentially so fucking evil, it’s crazy. It’s a ridiculous idea for you to think that you know anything for sure in life—other than to take care of your fellow people. Where the fuck do you get off thinking otherwise? These two people couldn’t be from more different worlds and perspectives, and probably disagree fundamentally on most things, but there’s a through-line for all of us—and that’s what people forget, and that’s what makes people capable of doing terrible things to each other. What makes you different from any other person that walks the earth?

What makes us different from terrorists, Kristen and Marlow? Most of us have a moral compass, and a conscience. We know it's wrong to murder others. Yes, we as actors have to sometimes play evil characters, and we need to justify the character's actions, because from the character's perspective we are doing nothing wrong. But that does not mean the actor has to embrace or justify that evil.

Ben Affleck Says He Doesn't Really Like Republicans

Die-hard liberal actor Ben Affleck told Playboy Magazine in an interview back in December:

“When I watch a guy [on screen] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him, or we would have different opinions. That sh*t fogs the mind when you should be paying attention and be swept into the illusion.”

He does admit he dislikes the money/politics connect. Period. Those $56,000 dinners, regardless of who they are for. And "being used as a prop to schmooze people and try to milk the teat of the donor for money." Not too happy with that either. But he still doesn't think he'd like a Republican if he met one.

Hmm.  Wonder if he'd feel the same about a director who happens to be a Republican, not that there are many who have admitted they are. Would he turn down a gig because a director was conservative?

More on the story here.

Save Your Soul, Boycott Israel- Alice Walker Tells Alicia Keys Not To Perform In Tel Aviv

Singer Alicia Keys has been traveling with her Girl On Fire tour, and is set to perform July 4 at the  Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv, but according to "The Color Purple" author Alice Walker if she does she's headed straight for hell. At least that's what she's insinuating when she wrote Keys a letter that was posted on one of those boycott Israel websites, which I refuse to link to.

Walker wrote on the U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel:

“Dear Alicia Keys,
“I have learned today that you are due to perform in Israel very soon. We have never met, though I believe we are mutually respectful of each other’s path and work. It would grieve me to know you are putting yourself in danger (soul danger) by performing in an apartheid country that is being boycotted by many global conscious artists.
“A cultural boycott of Israel and Israeli institutions (not individuals) is the only option left to artists who cannot bear the unconscionable harm Israel inflicts every day on the people of Palestine, whose major ‘crime’ is that they exist in their own land, land that Israel wants to control as its own.”
Walker isn't the only anti-Semite who is pushing the boycott Israel agenda. She joins many other celebrities including:

Brian Eno,
Roger Waters
Jean-Luc Godard
Elvis Costello
Carlos Santana
Emma Thompson
Jane Fonda
Julie Christie
Mike Leigh
Danny Glover

And most recently Stephen Hawking, to name a few.

Although people have claimed that Bruce Willis and Meg Ryan boycotted, they in fact did not.

I don't care what anyone says, if they're anti-Israel they are most definitely anti-Semitic, or supremely ignorant for failing to comprehend the true meaning of apartheid. Israel is most definitely not an apartheid state.

Walker actually believes that "American apartheid" was "less lethal than Israel's against the Palestinian people."  Right, the Israelis are out there lynching Arabs.

Don't cave Alicia!
