France's Charlie Hebdo Magazine To Publish Life Of Mohammed

Charlie Hebdo's back again. This time the French magazine plans on tackling the life and times of Prophet Mohammed.  Charlie Hebdo's editor Stephane Charbonnier (aka Charb) still has a fatwa on his head after he published several cartoons in a September issue - including one of a naked Mohammed- that had the usual suspects outraged, particularly since they were already revved up about that anti-Islam film. Since then he's had to live under police protection, as so many others do who dare to push the boundaries of freedom of expression when it comes to conservative Muslims. But this time Charb is resting easy, so he says.

“It is a biography authorized by Islam since it was edited by Muslims" [snip]  “I don’t think higher Muslim minds could find anything inappropriate."

The biography will be published Wednesday and was put together by a Franco-Tunisian researcher known only as Zineb, Charb said.

The publisher said the idea for the comic book came to him in 2006 when a newspaper in Denmark published cartoons of Mohammed, later republished by Charlie Hebdo, drawing angry protests across the Muslim world.

“Before having a laugh about a character, it’s better to know him. As much as we know about the life of Jesus, we know nothing about Mohammed,” Charb said.

Well, I guess he still knows nothing about Islam because the not-so-higher minds are going to be just as infuriated about the cartoon biography as they were about a naked Mohammed since drawing the Prophet is haram (forbidden).  Then again, there's nothing more they can threaten him with.

Now we just wait to see what happens next.

"Aisha's In Hell" Sing Shiite Muslims in London Celebrating Her Death

Who knew that Shiites hated Mohammed's child bride Aisha. I certainly didn't until I saw the video below: Shiites in London happily celebrating her death and banishment to hell.

This site explains the reasons why she is dissed by Shia Muslims, including the fact that she was a jealous, argumentative wife who was not the favored one, as Sunni adherents believe.  Jealous? Ya think maybe it was because she was so young when old Mohammed married her?

Happy Meal Toy "Insults Mohammed"- Saudis Demand McDonald's Be Punished

The Saudi people are pretty pissed off with Mickey D's after they claim the toy in some of the 'Happy Meals' mocks their beloved Mohammed. Apparently the  squiggly lines (which are part of the design) at the bottom of the Power Ranger Samurai's feet spell Mohammed. Go figure.

And when you push the lever on the toy, the uplifted foot stamps on the alleged name 'Mohammed'.
As we all know, the bottom of a shoe is a major insult to a Muslim. Who can forget the journalist who hurled his shoes at George W. Bush in 2008?

 According to Gatestone Institute, Kermalkom.com (an Arabic language online news site) has detailed photos of those squiggly lines that really mean:

"Muhammad" written several times in circles.

I suppose if people can see the face of the Virgin Mary in a grilled cheese sandwich, why not the name "Mohammed" in some squiggly lines on the base of a Happy Meal Toy.

Gatestone says:

The toy had been distributed a few days before Saudi children and their parents began to take note of the name. Soon thereafter, Saudi Muslims launched several campaigns against McDonald's in "response to the savage attacks on the noble Prophet," under banners like "Help your Prophet!" and "Together in support of the Prophet."

Saudis, "demanding the strongest possible punishment for the restaurant" and insisting that "they will not be silent until this is realized," further complained how such an obvious insult could pass the supervision of the management at McDonalds.

In response, "Saudi McDonald's" has withdrawn the toy from all its restaurants, "in order to safeguard against any accusations or misunderstandings."

Do you blame them?  I'm sure they don't want their restaurants to go up in flames.
