Stone-faced Pennsylvania Students At Obama Speech

Barack Obama won the last election thanks, in part, to clueless young college fools.  Watch any video back in those days with Obama speaking, and you'll see a smiling, drooling, ecstatic audience. That seems to have changed. Check out this video of Obama speaking at the Community College of Allegheny County, in Oakdale, Pennsylvania. 15 students were cherry-picked to stand behind Obama. But rather than responding excitedly to whatever Obama happens to say, all of them- save one- stands there, stone-faced, nary a reaction. Then again, this is the same college that has slashed work hours for adjunct professors, staff and part-time teachers because of Obamacare.

The video is edited, so feasibly they could have edited out any positive reactions, but it's doubtful. You can see zippo reaction in response to Obama's attempts at humour.

Latest Layoffs Due To Obamacare: Pennsylvania College

There have been a slew of companies that have threatened or will definitely be slashing employee hours because of Obamacare, including many restaurants from Darden Restaurants (Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Longhorn Steakhouse) to Papa John's Pizza, and Denny's, among others. But it's not just waiters and waitresses that will suffer the consequences, other corporations are following suit, and now the education industry is going to be effected, as well.

Adjunct professors, part-time instructors, and staff (all 400 of them!) at Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) in Pennsylvania will see their hours cut so as to avoid Obamacare.  As of December 31, part-timers will have their weekly hours cut to 25, saving the college $6 million.

"It's kind of a double whammy for us because we are facing a legal requirement [under the new law] to get health care and if the college is reducing our hours, we don't have the money to pay for it," said adjunct biology professor Adam Davis.

"While it is of course the college’s preference to provide coverage to these positions, there simply are not funds available to do so," said CCAC spokesperson David Hoovler. "Several years of cuts or largely flat funding from our government supporters have led to significant cost reductions by CCAC, leaving little room to trim the college’s budget further."

Do you think they might be a tad annoyed with themselves for voting for Barack Obama, who won the Pennsylvania vote handily?  They should be, because it's going to happen to a lot more companies across the nation when Obamacare becomes a reality in 2013. There will be thousands of people either unemployed or underemployed because companies will no longer be able to afford keeping them.

Regarding CCAC, the United Steelworkers union rep Jeff Cech recommends adjunct professors  unionizing to avoid similar situations.

"They may be complying with the letter of the law, but the letter of law and the spirit of the law are two different things," said Mr. Cech. "If they are doing it at CCAC, it can't be long before they do it other places."

Like the unions were able to save the 18,000 Hostess workers from losing their jobs.

CCAC adjuncts will only be teaching 10 credit hours per semester at $730.00 per credit hour.

"We all know we are expendable," said Mr. Davis, "and there are plenty of people out there in this economy who would be willing to have our jobs."

Yes, everyone is expendable, Mr. Davis. Of course, I have no idea who you voted for, but I'd be willing to bet it was Obama.

The Legal Project Wants "Zombie Mohammed" Judge Removed For Use of Sharia

Remember the 'zombie Mohammed' case, whereby Pennsylvania Judge Mark Martin dismissed the harassment charges that atheist Ernest Perce levied against Muslim Talaag Elbayomy? Elbayomy had become incensed after seeing  Perce dressed as a zombie Mohammed in a Halloween parade and attacked him. Martin, who called himself Muslim in the audiotaped proceedings but then later denied it, dismissed the case on the basis of Sharia law. Now a legal organization (the Legal Project) wants an investigation into the illegal, unconstitutional use of Sharia law in a U.S. court.

A legal firm dedicated to ensuring the right to freely discuss Islam is asking the Pennsylvania Judicial Conduct Board to investigate the actions of a magistrate judge who it says failed to protect the First Amendment rights of a man mocking Mohammad.

Sam Nunberg of The Legal Project, an activity of the Middle East Forum, which is representing Perce. He has a problem with Judge Martin's recognition of sharia law.

"This ruling throws out our United States Constitution, throws out our First Amendment, puts Islamic anti-blasphemy defamation of religion laws over our First Amendment, gives it binding in the court system, and lets the defendant off of a crime, rationalizing that what he did would not be wrong in Islamic countries," Nunberg summarizes.

When a complaint was filed about Martin, the Pennsylvania Judicial Conduct Board only "privately rebuked" him for his ruling.

"The Judicial Conduct Board should revisit their decision and should lead an enquiry, which should possibly lead to dismissal," the attorney suggests. "His term extends into 2018. A private rebuke is certainly not something that was fitting of conduct in the courtroom from the bench."

Nunberg believes it is imperative that a judge who makes unconstitutional rulings be removed.

Who knows what will come of it, but Sharia has no place in a U.S. courtroom.

PA Muslim Judge Mark Martin Dismisses Assault Charges Against Muslim Using Sharia

During Halloween last year in Pennsylvania, some members of an Atheist group joined a local parade dressed as a Zombie Pope and a "Zombie Muhammed". Talaaq Elbayomy (a Muslim immigrant) also happened to be there with his wife and kids, and when he saw Ernest V. Perce dressed up as said Zombie Muhammed, he attacked Perce (all caught on tape) to defend the Prophet's honor.  After the scuffle, both men tracked down a police officer for obviously different reasons: Perce, because he was assaulted for no justifiable reason, and Elbayomy because in his supreme ignorance believed dressing up as Muhammed was a crime.

Now one would think that in America, where it might be tacky but certainly not a crime to dress up as Muhammed, the person who assaulted another individual would have to pay the piper, but not so in Judge Mark W. Martin's court.  You see, Judge Martin also happens to be a Muslim convert who spent several years in Muslim countries while serving in the military. And rather than being able to separate his newly adopted religious beliefs from his constitutional duties as a judge, he dismissed the case against Elbayomy in spite of the police officer's testimony on Perce's behalf, all the while admonishing Perce for his insensitivity and lecturing him on Islam and Sharia (also caught on audio- with the judge's permission.)

Opposing Views, transcribed some of Judge Martin's diatribe:

“Having had the benefit of having spent over 2 and a half years in predominantly Muslim countries I think I know a little bit about the faith of Islam. In fact I have a copy of the Koran here and I challenge you sir to show me where it says in the Koran that Mohammad arose and walked among the dead. I think you misinterpreted things. Before you start mocking someone else’s religion you may want to find out a little bit more about it it makes you look like a dufus and Mr. (Defendant) is correct. In many Arabic speaking countries something like this is definitely against the law there. In their society in fact it can be punishable by death and it frequently is in their society.

“Islam is not just a religion, it’s their culture, their culture. It’s their very essence, their very being. They pray five times a day towards Mecca to be a good Muslim, before you die you have to make a pilgrimage to Mecca unless you are otherwise told you can not because you are too ill too elderly, whatever but you must make the attempt. Their greetings wa-laikum as-Salâm (is answered by voice) may god be with you. Whenever, it’s very common when speaking to each other it’s very common for them to say uh this will happen it’s it they are so immersed in it.

Well,  Judge Martin, this is the U.S. and here we don't execute people for blasphemy, and although we might be offended by someone dressing up as a Zombie Jesus, Pope, Buddha, Muhammed or whomever, it is their right to do so.

Then Martin goes on to say (as per Opposing Views):

“Then what you have done is you have completely trashed their essence, their being. They find it very very very offensive. I’m a Muslim, I find it offensive. But you have that right, but you’re way outside your boundaries or first amendment rights. This is what, and I said I spent about 7 and a half years living in other countries. when we go to other countries it’s not uncommon for people to refer to us as ugly Americans this is why we are referred to as ugly Americans, because we are so concerned about our own rights we don’t care about other people’s rights as long as we get our say but we don’t care about the other people’s say”


“All that aside I’ve got here basically.. I don’t want to say he said she said but I’ve got two sides of the story that are in conflict with each other.”

And,

“The preponderance of, excuse me, the burden of proof… “

And,

“…he has not proven to me beyond a reasonable doubt that this defendant is guilty of harassment, therefore I am going to dismiss the charge”

Apparently, Martin refused to allow the video of the attack to be admissible in court.

As for ignorance of the law, had Elbayomy killed Perce in the melee, would he have sided with Elbayomy?  If Judge Martin is unable to follow the rule of American law, then he has no place in our judicial system.
