La Senator Refuses To Address Her Claims Of Republican Racism Over Obamacare

Democratic Senator Karen Carter Peterson from Louisiana claimed, on the Senate floor, that Republican opposition to Obamacare is because Barack Obama is black. But when a local TV station reporter tried to get her to talk about her accusations of racism, she refused to speak.

Sen. Elbert Guillory, who also happens to be black and a Democrat and also opposes Obamacare, said of Peterson's comments:

"some decks only have one card in it, and that's the race card. And I'm so sick of hearing it..."

I think we all are. But good for Guillory.

NY Dem Congressman Trying Again To Abolish Presidential Term Limits

69-year-old Democratic Congressman Jose Enrique Serrano has been a very busy boy during his many years in politics. One of his major goals has been to repeal the 22nd Amendment, the one which limits the amount of times a man can be U.S. president.

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

He started introducing bills to remove term limits back in 1997. Then he followed up with similar bills in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011. So it's about that time for another try, and yes he's at it again. Serrano has reintroduced his 2011 H.J. Resolution 17 in the guise of H.J. Resolution 15:

“an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”

Even though they were pitched during the presidencies of both Democrats and Republicans, none of his bills ever got traction. And hopefully they never will.

But according to the Daily Caller, he's not the only one who has tried to repeal the amendment:

Democratic Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer also repeatedly proposed repealing the 22nd Amendment during both the Clinton and Bush administrations.

Current Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sponsored a bill to repeal the amendment in 1995.

The 22nd Amendment was passed by Congress in 1947 and ratified by 41 states by 1951. The last president before Roosevelt to prepare for a campaign for a third term was Woodrow Wilson, who pulled out of the 1920 nominating race to avoid deadlocking the Democratic convention in San Francisco.

It will be interesting to see if this one gets to floor this time, considering who is currently in office, and who would probably love to remain there after his next four are over.

The Danger Is Not Obama But a Citizenry Of Fools

Some credit a Prague, Czech Republic newspaper Prager Zeitungon for the following quote, however I'm not sure if it's the actual source.

Apparently written right after Barack Obama was elected by a larger majority of fools for his first four years, whoever wrote this made a very astute assessment about the electorate who voted for him. It's just as apropos today as it was back in 2009.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.”

Jon Stryker Top Donor To Obama To Lay Off Workers Ahead of Medical Device Tax

I'm sure you've heard of all the liberal calls to boycott the companies that are claiming they'll have to layoff workers as a result of Obamacare, and the medical device tax. Of course, most of those CEOs voted for Mitt Romney, but one man stands out in the list of growing companies that are planning cuts. His name is Jon Stryker, and he's a billionaire from Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He owns Stryker Corp.

Jon is also a Democrat. In fact, this past summer, he donated over $2 million dollars to  Barack Obama super PACS. He also happens to rank as one of the top five contributors to Obama's campaign. Jeffrey Katzenberg (CEO of Dreamworks) gets top dog position at $2.566 million. But Jon's donations weren't too shabby.

According to the Associated Press, Stryker is tied for third place in contributions to Obama with Fred Eychaner, founder of Chicago-based publisher Newsweb Corp.

Stryker has donated $2 million to the Priorities USA Action super PAC, which supports Obama, AP reported. He has also given $66,000 in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party. In July, Stryker wrote a $750,000 check to Priorities Action USA.

According to campaign filings, Stryker made three donations this summer: on June 12, he gave $750,000, on July 20, $750,000 on Aug. 29, $500,000.

That's a lot of moolah. Think of how many hungry mouths that could feed, or jobs that could provide in this country. But I digress.

Jon has this medical device company. He purchased another company, Gaymar Industries, in 2010 for $150 million. Along with that acquisition came two facilities located in New York State. The government is also going to implement a 2.3% tax on medical device sales in January 2013. So guess what? To make up for that increase, Jon is going to close those two New York plants and fire 107 employees by the end of the year. He plans on cutting his workforce by 5% and slashing $100 million from his operating costs.

As a Democrat, and a rich one to boot, shouldn't he be glad to pay the government taxes? Guess not.

Think any liberals will take him to task for this, like they are Papa Johns, Darden Restaurants, and all those other companies that are about to layoff employees. Nah.
