George W Bush- Won't Second Guess Obama On Iraq

During a discussion regarding the dangers of leaving Iraq too soon (which has led to the current ISIS problem), Brian Kilmeade of Fox & Friends asked George W Bush whether he felt the same way as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey (and the military) regarding the importance of leaving "a residual force of 10 to 15,000 maybe more."

Bush responded:

"I did. Yeah. The president has to make the choices he thinks are important. I’m not going to second guess our president. I understand how tough the job is. And to have a former president bloviating and second-guessing is, I don’t think, good for the presidency or the country.”
Earlier he said:

“I tell people all the time — off the record, by the way — that Condy Rice’s relatives were enslaved in the greatest democracy ever for 100 years." “Democracy takes time to take hold. Yet there is an impatience with that process. Americans have got to understand that the lesson of 9/11 is still important today as it was right after 9/11, and that is the human condition elsewhere matters to our national security.”
What a class act.

Bush Predicted What Is Now Happening In Iraq Back In 2007

George W Bush predicted what is currently happening in Iraq today - back in July, 2007.

He had ordered a surge, others recommended withdrawal. This is what he said in response.

George W. Bush On The Tonight Show With Jay Leno- video

Love George "Dubya" Bush. What a down to earth man. And you have to give him credit for not criticizing Barack Obama during these disastrous years, since there have  been a multitude of things to blast him for.  Jay Leno asks him about that, and Bush responded:

"I don't think it's good for the country to have a former president criticize his successor."
Given the positive response to Bush, the audience was probably mostly conservative.

You can find the rest of Bush on Leno on YouTube.

Elton John Hearts George W. Bush & Conservative Politicians For AIDS Work

At the International Aids Conference in Washington, Sir Elton John praised not Bill Clinton, not Jimmy Carter but George W. Bush and "conservative American politicians" for doing so much to “save the lives of Africans with HIV.”

“We’ve seen George W. Bush and conservative American politicians pledge tens of billions to save the lives of Africans with HIV. Think of all the love. Think of where we’d be without it, nowhere, that’s where. We’d be nowhere at all."

“Thanks to all this compassion, thanks to all this love, more than 8 million people are on treatment. Thanks to people who have chosen to care and to act, we can see an end to this epidemic on the horizon.”

You can see the video here, on the Daily Caller.

In fact, on Yahoo's 'Spinners and Winners' with Jonathan Karl, without hesitation he credited Bush as being the president who has done the most to combat AIDS. Who would have thought someone who was so vocally anti-Bush would suddenly have such a change of heart. He also had some high praise for both George and Laura. He met Bush at the Kennedy Center Honors Concert, and said of him:

"He was amazingly informed about AIDS. He treated us with such kindness. I had so much respect for him."

The respect came especially after Bush enacted the $15 million President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), to treat and prevent AIDS in Africa.

He went on to say:

"One of the old adages in life says never judge someone until you meet them," John I didn't like his policies but I have to say when I met him "I found him charming. I found him well informed. And I found him determined to do something about the AIDS situation. So I changed my opinion of him. And his wife was astonishingly kind to us, as well."

"I learned a lesson."

This from someone who called Bush "the worst thing that ever happened to America."

Of course, he loves Obama for all he's done re. gay marriage and 'don't ask, don't tell", but kudos to Elton for giving credit where credit's due.

And here the liberals think the conservatives are so anti-gay.

Obama Is Victim Of Bush's Failed Promises- by Chuck Green

This op-ed penned by former Denver Post editor-in-chief Chuck Green for the Aurora Sentinel was published in early 2010. It's still spot on two years later.

Obama is victim of Bush's failed promises!

Barack Obama is setting a record-setting number of records during his first year in office.

Largest budget ever. Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken promises ever. Most self-serving speeches ever. Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever. Fastest dive in popularity ever.

Wow. Talk about change.

Just one year ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations, President Obama was flying high. After one of the nation’s most inspiring political campaigns, the election of America’s first black president had captured the hopes and dreams of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable that a year later his administration would be gripped in self-imposed crisis.

Of course, they don’t see it as self imposed. It’s all George Bush’s fault.

George Bush, who doesn’t have a vote in Congress and who no longer occupies the White House, is to blame for it all.

He broke Obama’s promise to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.

He broke Obama’s promise to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.

He broke Obama’s promise to end earmarks.

He broke Obama’s promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.

He broke Obama’s promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.

He broke Obama’s promise to make peace with direct, no pre-condition talks with America’s most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.

He broke Obama’s promise to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.

He broke Obama’s promise to end no-compete contracts with the government.

He broke Obama’s promise to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.

He broke Obama’s promise for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.

He broke Obama’s promise to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.

Yes, it’s all George Bush’s fault. President Obama is nothing more than a puppet in the never-ending, failed Bush administration.

If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, all of President Obama’s problems would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel, North Korea would have ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government.

Oh, and did I mention what it would be like if the Democrats, under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn’t have the heavy yoke of George Bush around their necks. There would be no earmarks, no closed-door drafting of bills, no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying (Nebraska, Louisiana).

If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, we’d have real change by now.

All the broken promises, all the failed legislation and delay (health care reform, immigration reform) is not President Obama’s fault or the fault of the Democrat-controlled Congress. It’s all George Bush’s fault.

Take for example the decision of Eric Holder, the president’s attorney general, to hold terrorists’ trials in New York City. Or his decision to try the Christmas Day underpants bomber as a civilian.

Two disastrous decisions.

Certainly those were bad judgments based on poor advice from George Bush.

Need more proof?

You might recall that when Scott Brown won last month’s election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, capturing “the Ted Kennedy seat,” President Obama said that Brown’s victory was the result of the same voter anger that propelled Obama into office in 2008. People were still angry about George Bush and the policies of the past 10 years, and they wanted change.

Yes, according to the president, the voter rebellion in Massachusetts last month was George Bush’s fault.

Therefore, in retaliation, they elected a Republican to the Ted Kennedy seat, ending a half-century of domination by Democrats.

It is all George Bush’s fault.

Will the failed administration of George Bush ever end, and the time for hope and change ever arrive?

Will President Obama ever accept responsibility for something — anything?

Disillusioned with the news business, he quit writing professionally in 2011 and wrote a farewell column explaining his decision, which included his frustration with the "seemingly endless" political bickering.

Even a year later, this alleged lifelong Democrat (who was no Bush lover) was still highly critical of Obama:

The administration of George W. Bush was disappointing, to say the least. He got us into two wars that the United States didn’t have to fight, and he neglected to protect the federal treasury.

The first term of Barack Obama is even worse. He’s broken nearly every major campaign promise he made in 2008, he’s nearly bankrupted the nation, and he seems oblivious to it all.

Former Colorado congresswoman Pat Schroeder once called Ronald Reagan the “Teflon president” because he seemed in her Democrat vision to be immune from responsibility for his actions. In fact, he proved to be one of the most-responsible presidents in modern times, with tremendous accomplishments to his credit.

By contrast, President Obama seems accountable for none of the deceit and hypocrisy he wallows in -- historic and growing debt, no energy policy, no immigration policy, Gitmo still operating, a third war front. . . .

As you can tell, it’s time to quit.

Why "Obama Is Not That Bright" Jack Kelly

Like George W. Bush, Barack H. Obama is a Harvard grad. But unlike Dubya, who has oft been classified in the media as being not too bright, Obama has been championed as a major intellect. But the fact is, Obama is "not that bright" either, as Jack Kelly posits in his latest commentary on Real Clear Politics.

Barack Obama is the smartest man with the highest IQ ever to be elected to the presidency, historian Michael Beschloss told radio talk show host Don Imus in November of 2008.

"So what is his IQ?" Mr. Imus asked. Mr. Beschloss didn't know. He was just assuming.

Many shared that assumption. Adjectives frequently applied to Mr. Obama are "smart" (278 million hits on Google), "intelligent" (62 million) and "brilliant" (24 million).

There is little evidence to support it. Mr. Obama went to Harvard, but so did George W. Bush, who some liberals consider dumber than dirt. The president won't release his transcripts, so we can't judge by his grades. Mr. Obama was president of the Harvard Law Review, but when he was selected, popularity mattered more than scholarship.

Kelly also mentions that:

Obama never tried any cases at the law firm he joined.

Obama's "oratorical skills" are bogus since he is dependent upon a teleprompter for any coherency.

Obama's autobiography "Dreams From My Father" was written with help from his  leftist/US terrorist buddy William Ayers, at least so says journalist Christopher Anderson who wrote a biography about the Obamas.
"The book's language, oddly specific references, literary devices and themes would bear a jarring similarity to Ayers' own writing," Mr. Andersen wrote.

Then Kelly reminds us of all the not so smart things Obama has said over the years:
there are 57 states;
Canada has a president;
"Austrian" is a language;
America is "20 centuries" old;
Arabic is spoken in Afghanistan.
He's called the Falkland Islands (Malvinas) the Maldives, and declared it would be "unprecedented" for the Supreme Court to invalidate a law passed by Congress.

And remember how everyone lambasted George W. for mispronouncing nuclear "nucyular", even though many people do, including some well-known TV anchors and reporters?  Well,  Obama has had his own verbal gaffes including calling a Navy Corpsman "Corpse-man"- twice- at a national prayer breakfast; and has no clue how to pronounce Libya correctly.

Another major gaffe that Kelly missed was when Obama referred to Hawaii as part of Asia.

Of course this is a mere drop in the bucket as far as Obamaisms go. Google 'Obama gaffes' and you'll find a slew of websites and articles referencing them.

Kelly has some other interesting information in his article, well worth the read.

Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush Do Not Heart Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter Apparently one thing that former Democratic prez Bill Clinton and Republican papa Bush have in common (other than some of their aid work) is an intense dislike for former Democratic prez Jimmy Carter.

Their mutual contempt for Carter is addressed in a book entitled “The Presidents Club: Inside the World’s Most Exclusive Fraternity,”  written by Time Magazine writers Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy.

According to Duffy and Gibbs, Carter is the gift that just keeps on giving, referring to many of his post-presidency antics.

“Carter gives the club a great gift, something for all the others to complain about."

“When nothing seemed to unite the members, the club often bonded over what an annoying cuss Carter could be.”

“He just had this habit of going off script that could be very annoying to them,” Gibbs said yesterday on CNN’s “State of the Union."
Supposedly Barack Obama isn't too fond of him either, because of this propensity to "go off script." In fact, Duffy said in a CNN "State Of  The Union" interview that:
‘When President Obama sent Carter to North Korea in 2010 [to secure the release of American Aijalon Mahli Gomes] he was so concerned about Carter going off that script that he made him sign a 12-point contract before he left including one point which was to never talk to the press about the trip, which then he did talk to (the press) about.’
As we all know, Jimmy is notorious for not only going off script but shoving his foot into his mouth.
In the book former staffers are quoted as saying some of his actions could actually be considered “treason."

On the other hand, Gibbs said that George W. Bush has been much more helpful to Obama, even arranging for a 'welcoming ceremony' to initiate Barack into the President's Club, and has made a concerted effort to not cause him any grief.  Unlike Jimmy Carter.

The Dalai Lama Hearts George W. Bush

Just watched Piers Morgan's CNN interview with the Dalai Lama tonight and was taken by his gentleness and good humour (I've read some of his books, which I highly recommend). But the highlight of the interview was when Piers Morgan asked His Holiness which of the many people he had met had impressed him the most. He first mentions South Africa's Nelson Mandela as impressive, but then launched into (transcript via Newsbusters):

"Of course as individual, individual person, I love President Bush."

"Which one?" asked Morgan.

"The younger one," said the Dalai Lama

Morgan incredulously responded, “Really?”

“Really,” he clarified. "As a human being. Not as a president of America. Sometimes his policy may not be very, very successful. But as a person, as a human being, very nice person. I love him."

Still seemingly mystified by this, Morgan pressed, “But how did you feel that President Bush went to war so much and was responsible for so many deaths if you’re a man of peace?”

"After he sort of start the Iraq sort of crisis then my other occasion meeting with him,” the Dalai Lama replied, “then I expressed to him, ‘I love you, but your policies concerned, I have some reservations’ I told him."

Wow. He "loves" not Clinton or Obama, but George "Dubya" Bush. A man who has been vilified and criticized by so many worldwide, both as a President and a human being. Of course, that love might be a direct response to the manner in which he was treated by Bush-  with honor, dignity and respect. Obama, after all, sent him packing out the back door of the White House, with the garbage in full view.

Obama, I'm sure, is not crushed. But I'm happy for George. It's a great honor to be loved by the Dalai Lama.

Syrian protesters in Kafrandel miss George 'Dubya' Bush and the Republicans

Like many here and around the world, the Syrians in Kafrandel miss George W. Bush and the Republicans. Their president Bashar al-Assad, ranked number 4 in Parade Magazine's 2011 top 10 worst dictators, has been systematically killing thousands of his people (including allegations of rape, torture and murder of children), as he struggles to hang on to his power.

However, I'm not quite sure what they would have expected Bush to do, other than scare the bejesus out of the bad guys with his so-called cowboy tactics. He was criticized for his cowboy diplomacy, but in many ways it worked.
