Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush Do Not Heart Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter Apparently one thing that former Democratic prez Bill Clinton and Republican papa Bush have in common (other than some of their aid work) is an intense dislike for former Democratic prez Jimmy Carter.

Their mutual contempt for Carter is addressed in a book entitled “The Presidents Club: Inside the World’s Most Exclusive Fraternity,”  written by Time Magazine writers Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy.

According to Duffy and Gibbs, Carter is the gift that just keeps on giving, referring to many of his post-presidency antics.

“Carter gives the club a great gift, something for all the others to complain about."

“When nothing seemed to unite the members, the club often bonded over what an annoying cuss Carter could be.”

“He just had this habit of going off script that could be very annoying to them,” Gibbs said yesterday on CNN’s “State of the Union."
Supposedly Barack Obama isn't too fond of him either, because of this propensity to "go off script." In fact, Duffy said in a CNN "State Of  The Union" interview that:
‘When President Obama sent Carter to North Korea in 2010 [to secure the release of American Aijalon Mahli Gomes] he was so concerned about Carter going off that script that he made him sign a 12-point contract before he left including one point which was to never talk to the press about the trip, which then he did talk to (the press) about.’
As we all know, Jimmy is notorious for not only going off script but shoving his foot into his mouth.
In the book former staffers are quoted as saying some of his actions could actually be considered “treason."

On the other hand, Gibbs said that George W. Bush has been much more helpful to Obama, even arranging for a 'welcoming ceremony' to initiate Barack into the President's Club, and has made a concerted effort to not cause him any grief.  Unlike Jimmy Carter.

Striking Similarities Between Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama (Video)

A video that highlights the striking similarities between two of the worst presidents in U.S. history: Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama.

Jimmy Carter Supports Palestinian Statehood Bid From U.N.

I have always maintained that former President Jimmy Carter was a flaming anti-Semite, and his latest antics continue to confirm that opinion. Not only was he useless as President (the worst in U.S. history, followed closely by Barack Obama) he's even more so now as an ex-leader of the free world. He just can't seem to keep his mouth shut on issues he obviously has no clue about, and  no right meddling in. Like the Palestinian pursuit of statehood recognition through the United Nations.

In Atlanta on Tuesday, Jimmy said he fully supports Palestine's bid for statehood, in spite of the fact that this could jeopardize Israel's security, considering the recent events in Egypt  and the strained relations with Turkey.

"As an alternative to a deadlock and a stalemate now, we reluctantly support the Palestinian move for recognition."

Carter claims that had Obama "put forward any sort of comprehensive peace proposal" he would not approve of the current efforts for U.N. recognition.  But no-one has managed to do that, including Carter himself, because the majority of Palestinians simply don't want peace, they just want Israel to go away.  And until Western leaders accept that fact, they will continue to fail at bringing peace to that region.  He also foolishly doesn't seem to think that troubles with Turkey and Syria pose any problems to Israel:

"The Arab spring has brought hope for democracy and freedom to many of the people in the region ... and I hope that eventually it will potentially bring about a change in the prospects of a peace agreement to be negotiated between Israel and its neighbors," he said. "But it would require Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories and that's something that so far the Israeli government has been unable to do."
Dream on!

There will never be peace until Hamas changes its charter that clearly states:  "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it."

There will never be peace until the Palestinians put down their arms, stop attacking Israel and start teaching their children to love life  more than martyrdom.

As Golda Meir so aptly put it:

"We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us”.

Joke of the day: Jimmy Carter Billboard " They can't call me the worst president anymore!"

I never thought there could be any U.S. president that could give Jimmy Carter a run for his money for the title of worst president ever, but Obama is coming perilously close. In my opinion, so far, he's about equal, although some out there seem to think he's surpassed Carter, given the most recent billboard that popped up in Grand Junction, Colorado. Then we had the G.W. Bush "Miss Me Yet" billboard, and another one with Ronald Reagan "Remember Real Hope And Change?". There are a slew of unhappy people out there, and yet Obama and his cronies remain clueless. I remember a ton of anti-Bush jokes, cartoons and hate-articles, but I don't ever recall anyone paying for a billboard to lambaste him, at least not in this country.

Ulterior Motive For Jimmy Carter's Apology To Jews

When I read that Jimmy Carter had actually apologized to the Jews for his often contentious, anti-Semitic diatribes I knew there had to be some ulterior motive. A man who has so vociferously criticized Israel for years doesn't repent overnight. A man who actually called Israel an apartheid state in his book- "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid"- had to have some other reason for apologizing, besides a sudden change of heart. At first I thought- heck maybe he's dying and he wants to make amends before he kicks the bucket. It happens. Wiping one's slate clean, so to speak. After all, he told the Jewish community he was

... offering an Al Het, a prayer said on Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. It signifies a plea for forgiveness.

"We must not permit criticisms for improvement to stigmatize Israel," Carter said in the letter, which was first sent to JTA, a wire service for Jewish newspapers, and provided Wednesday to The Associated Press. "As I would have noted at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, but which is appropriate at any time of the year, I offer an Al Het for any words or deeds of mine that may have done so ."
I'm all for asking for forgiveness and forgiving others, but the apology has to be sincere. I should have known better when it comes to Jimmah Carter, the two-faced snake. No, he's not dying- his grandson, Jason Carter, is running for office in a predominately Jewish area in Atlanta. The grandson, of course, denies any relationship between his grandpa's apology and his eyeing the state Senate seat that will become available if Obama's political nominee for U.S. Ambassador to Singapore, David Adelman, is confirmed. The special election would occur in March.

Jason Carter, who is running in a district with a vocal Jewish population, said in a statement that his grandfather's letter was unrelated to his campaign and hailed the apology as a "great step towards reconciliation."
Apologizing must have been a massively bitter pill to swallow, considering everything he has said about Israel and the Jews, because frankly I don't buy it. Others have been more accepting,

Carter's apology was welcomed by Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League and a vocal critic of Carter's views on Israel.

"When a former president reaches out to the Jewish community and asks for forgiveness, it's incumbent of us to accept it," he said in a telephone interview from Jerusalem. "To what extent this is an epiphany, only time will tell. There certainly was a lot of hurt, a lot of angry words that need to be repaired. But this is a good start."

I'm glad someone believed him. And perhaps I would have been less skeptical had this not coincided with his grandson's political aspirations.

Hugs and Kisses For Hamas: Jimmy Carter Sharing the Love With Terrorists

I don't know what more I can say about Jimmy Carter. No words describe the utter lack of respect and contempt I have for that man. Not only has he decided to meet with Khalid Meshaal in Syria this coming Friday, he's been cosying up to the whole dang Hamas gang on his current Middle East trip.

In addition to placing a wreath on Yasser Arafat's grave in Ramallah; in Palestine, yesterday, there were hugs and kisses for Hamas', ex-deputy prime minister Naser Shaer. What next? Is he planning on gathering all the extremists in the world to hold hands and sing Kumbaya?

I'm still trying to figure out what he expects to accomplish meeting with members of a terrorist organization that still has clerics-cum-members of parliament claiming that:

"Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our prophet Muhammad."

Yes, indeedy, a sermon by Yunis al-Astal (a Hamas politician and cleric) which aired on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV this past Friday, shared the following predictions with the Palestinian people:

"today Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital which has declared its hostility towards Islam and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam. This capital of theirs will be an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe."

" I believe that out children or our grandchildren will inherit our Jihad and our sacrifices and Allah willing, the commanders of the conquest will come from among them.

"Today we instill these good tidings in their souls and by means of the mosques and the Koran books, and the history of our Prophet and his companions, and the great leaders, we prepare them for the mission of saving humanity from the hellfire on the brink of which they stand."

"Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security and consolidation of power, and even to conquests through da'wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world."

Do these really sound like people willing to entertain the notion of peace? And is Jimmy Carter so clueless or deluded to think that he, alone, can change the mindset of a whole segment of the world population intent on restablishing the glory of their past?

Go home, Jimmy!

Dhimmi Carter and The Terrorist

Jimmy Carter has no clue when to quit. He seems hellbent on adding credit after asinine credit to his already overflowing resume' of idiocies. You would think that, after all his major gaffes and missteps over the years, he would sit back and enjoy his retirement, try to keep his mouth shut, and put more effort into worthy projects like his Habitat For Humanity. But, nope, with every subsequent blunder, Carter continues to ensure he goes down in history as the world's worst President. Although some might disagree, history will eventually prove that he wins that title hands down.

So what's his latest screw-up?
Against the State Department's recommendation , James Earle Carter, Jr. is apparently headed to Syria to meet with none other than Khaled Meshaal, the exiled leader of Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement). What on earth he thinks he can accomplish chatting with the leader of a designated terrorist organization, is beyond me. Peace? You can't negotiate peace with a group whose charter contains the following statements:

"Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors."
Article Seven: ....Hamas has been looking forward to implement Allah’s promise whatever time it might take. The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim).

Article Eleven: The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf . ... This is the status [of the land] in Islamic Shari’a, and it is similar to all lands conquered by Islam by force, and made thereby Waqf lands upon their conquest, for all generations of Muslims until the Day of Resurrection.

Article Twelve: Hamas regards Nationalism (Wataniyya) as part and parcel of the religious faith. Nothing is loftier or deeper in Nationalism than waging Jihad against the enemy and confronting him when he sets foot on the land of the Muslims. And this becomes an individual duty binding on every Muslim man and woman.

Article Thirteen: [Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion; the nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its faith, the movement educates its members to adhere to its principles and to raise the banner of Allah over their homeland as they fight their Jihad.
There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and international Conferences are but a waste of time, and exercise in futility.

What I find most objectionable is that, as a former president, Carter is entitled to Secret Service protection, which means he and his wife will be accompanied, on this upcoming trip, by at least 5 agents. And at whose expense? The U.S. taxpayer! If he chooses to ignore the administration's exhortation not to meet with Meshaal, then he should be liable for the cost. We should not have to suffer for his stupidity and lack of insight.

Stay home Mr. Carter, and save us (and yourself) more embarrassment!

Open mouth, insert foot- Carter does it again

There is something seriously wrong with James Earl Carter, Jr. There has to be. Jimmy just can't keep his mouth shut. (Though it looks like he's doing a pretty good job in this photo.) You would think as an ex-President he would have a deeper understanding of the whole notion of protocol and diplomacy, but it's obvious he hasn't a clue.

So, this time, Carter told the Democrat-Arkansas Gazette that President Bush's international relations is the "worst in history". In addition to bashing Bush's environmental policies he criticized the administration's faith-based initiative funding, calling it "quite disturbing." He also had the gall to criticize Tony Blair, when asked by BBC radio what he thought of Blair's support of Bush, saying it was "Abominable. Loyal. Blind. Apparently subservient. And I think the almost undeviating support by Great Britain for the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world." Carter also faulted Bush

"for having "zero peace talks" in Israel," adding that the current "administration "abandoned or directly refuted" every negotiated nuclear arms agreement....by other Presidents."

Perhaps he feels compelled to criticize Bush because he doesn't want to go down as "the" worst President in U.S. history, as so many already maintain. In fact, some have pegged him as "the worst" ex-President ever. Or maybe he's just stupid, or thinks we're stupid. As if claiming someone else is "the worst" will somehow make it so. Regardless of what you think of GW Bush, he's by no means worse than former Prez Jimmah Carter. In fact many of the major tragedies of the world today, can be directly linked to Carter's Presidency. Besides the onus of having the resurgence of Islamic Fundamentalism commence on his watch, let's take a look at a few instances of Carter's brilliance in foreign policy, both during and after his Presidency.

A few from CommonDreams.org:

President Carter, who came to office in early 1977, not long after Indonesia invaded and annexed the tiny island nation of East Timor, increased military aid to the Indonesian dictatorship by 80%. This equipment including OV-10 Bronco counter-insurgency aircraft that was crucial in the rounding up of much of the country’s civilian population into concentration camps. Most of the 200,000 East Timorese deaths as a result of Indonesia’s occupation took place during the Carter Administration, in large part as a result of this military aid.

Carter also dramatically increased military aid to the Moroccan government of King Hassan II, whose forces invaded its southern neighbor, the desert nation of Western Sahara, barely a year before the former Georgia governor assumed office. Carter fought Congress to restore military aid to Turkey that had been suspended after their armed forces seized the northern third of the Republic of Cyprus in 1974. Carter promised that the resumption of aid would give Turkey the flexibility to withdraw. Turkish occupation forces remain there to this day.

Under President Carter, the United States vetoed consecutive UN Security Council resolutions to impose sanctions against the apartheid regime in South Africa. Ignoring calls from the democratic South African opposition to impose such pressure, Carter took the line of American corporate interests by claiming U.S. investments – including such items as computers and trucks for the South African police and military – somehow supported the cause of racial justice and majority rule. (Barely five years after Carter left office, the United States imposed sanctions against South Africa by huge bipartisan Congressional majorities and no longer vetoed similar UN efforts.)

Carter sent military aid to the Islamic fundamentalist mujahadeen to fight the leftist government in Afghanistan in the full knowledge that it could prompt a Soviet invasion. According to his National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, it was hoped that by forcing the Soviets into such a counter-insurgency war would weaken America’s superpower rival. This decision, however, not only destroyed much of Afghanistan, but the entire world is feeling the ramifications to this day.

As president, Carter opposed Palestinian statehood, refused to even meet with Palestinian leaders, and dramatically increased military aid to the right-wing Israeli government of Menachem Begin. When Israel violated an annex to the Camp David Accords by resuming construction of illegal settlements on the occupied West Bank, Carter refused to enforce the treaty despite being its guarantor. Carter also dramatically increased military aid to the increasingly repressive Egyptian regime of Anwar Sadat.

Carter was also a strong supporter of Philippine dictator Fernando Marcos, Pakistani General Zia al Huq, Saudi King Faud and many other dictators. He blocked human rights legislation initiated by then-Congressman Tom Harkin and others. He increased U.S. military spending, militarized the Indian Ocean, and withdrew the SALT II Treaty from the Senate before they even took a vote.

From SFGate.com:

When it comes to the belligerence of North Korea, Carter's past involvement has done considerable damage. In the early 1990s, Carter traveled to North Korea on another of his "peacekeeping missions" and brokered a deal with dictator Kim Il Sung. He did so without the blessing of the Clinton administration, although, at the behest of then-Vice President Al Gore, President Clinton later agreed to adopt Carter's deal. The United States ended up providing aid, oil and, incredibly, material for building light-water nuclear reactors to the North Koreans in exchange for their abandoning their nuclear weapons program. The problem is they didn't abandon their nuclear weapons program; they just said they did. And in 2002, they admitted as much. Still, to this day, Carter claims that his approach was a success and that it was President Bush's inclusion of North Korea in the famous "axis of evil" speech that led to current leader Kim Jong Il's hostility toward America.

The fruits of Carter's history with Iran are even more rotten. Carter's abandonment of the shah in 1977-78 helped lead to the Islamic revolution (and the murder or imprisonment of many of the Iranian leftists who had supported overthrowing the shah), the emboldening of the Soviet Union to invade Afghanistan and the rise of radical Islam worldwide. His botched approach to the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979 inspired Islamic terrorists all over the world, culminating in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Besides the dictators mentioned above, Carter has cozied up to a bevy of others from Cuba's Fidel Castro to Venezuela's charmer, Hugo Chavez.

Now, let's take a look at the Misery Index, an economic indicator (created by economist Arthur Okun) to assess the nation's economic health. It's the unemployment rate plus the inflation rate. Obviously, the higher the rate, the worse the economy. There also seems to be a correlation between increased crime and a higher Misery Index. So, take a guess, was it higher during Carter or Bush's administration (2001-2005)?

Bush had a 7.98% M.I. average during his first term, and as of April 2007, it was 7.07%! Carter, on the other hand, had the highest M.I. average of all Presidents since Truman, with a whopping 16.27%. More than double Bush's average! So it looks like there was more economic misery under Carter's rule, than Bush's.

And all this venom came spewing out of Jimbo's mouth during a promotional junket for a new audiobook series, "Leading a Worthy Life: Sunday Mornings in Plains: Bible Study with Jimmy Carter." Um, Jimmy, I think you could learn a few things from your own book!

Anti-Israel equals Anti-Semitic!

Yesterday, for a few minutes in my car, I listened to Rush Limbaugh who, though arrogant at times, is always very knowledgeable. A Canadian caller was complaining about what he felt was the Canadian and U.S. media's bias towards Israel and, although he acknowledged that he was anti-Israel, he categorically denied that he was anti-Semitic. Limbaugh, very calmly, raked him over the coals for this obvious contradiction, and with good reason.

Because you can't be both, dude! If you are 'anti-Israel' you are decidedly 'anti-Semitic'! You can not claim that you support the Jewish people and on the other hand believe that Israel has no right to exist. People conveniently forget, whether through ignorance or hatred, that the United Nations was instrumental in creating the State of Israel in 1947 (1947 UN Partition Plan), and that, historically speaking, the Jews have as much right to live in that region as anyone else. The history of the Holy Land, and who might have lived there first, is open to interpretation. We will never know the answer for sure, so one side or the other laying full claim to those lands is unquestionably wrong.

What we do know, however, is that the Holy Land is biblically important to Jews, Christians and Muslims alike, and though I'd like to think that, in a civilized world, they could all peacefully co-exist, this will never happen as long as the Muslims continue to foster and embrace their hatred for all people and things non-Muslim. The call for the annihilation of the Jews (or for that matter Christians and all other non-believers or Kafirs, as they are called) is rife in the teachings of the Koran and in the mainstream Arab media. To witness how profoundly deep that hatred runs, watch some of the videos on Palestinian Media Watch or read about the Palestinian penchant for preaching hatred of the Jews here. For decades the west has tried to broker some form of peace agreement in that region, to no avail. The reason no-one has ever achieved this goal is because the Muslims in that region will never agree to live in peace with the Israelis. At a mosque in Tehran, Ismail Haniyeh (the Palestinian prime minister) vowed this past Friday that his Hamas-led government will never recognize Israel.

And it's not just the Palestinians who openly exhort destruction of the Jewish people. There are many other middle-eastern countries including Iran's Ahmadinejad who has called for Israel to be wiped off the map. This virulent hatred for Jews begins in early childhood, where children as young as 3 are taught that Jews are 'pigs' and 'apes' and that "The day of judgment will not arrive until Muslims fight Jews, and Muslims will kill Jews until the Jew hides behind a tree or a stone. Then the tree and the stone will say: 'O Muslim, O servant of God, this is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him.' Except one type of a tree, which is a Jew tree. It will not say this." You find this 'loathing' in Saudi Arabian elementary school textbooks, on TV shows, children's cartoons, in newspapers and in mosques. It is constant and unrelenting and prevalent throughout that region.

The anti-Semitic, anti-Israeli faction place all the blame on Israel for the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, as if the Israelis have no right to be there as well, and proclaiming that the Palestinians are victims. But who are the Palestinians anyway? Arafat was born in Egypt, and most of the Palestinians who have migrated to Israeli lands, according to this article, are mostly from other Arab countries, as no other countries seem to want them. And the reason Israel is so coveted by the Palestinians is because the Israelis have transformed their tiny sliver of desert land into an oasis; something the Palestinians don't have. Jealousy breeds resentment and then hatred. Israel is the middle-eastern 'Land of Opportunity'. Most of the Palestinians live in abject poverty, but whose fault is that anyway? Certainly not the Israelis. Arafat was a multi-millionaire with Swiss bank accounts; some claim he was a billionaire and yet his people were kept poor and ignorant for a reason. In fact, many middle-easterners are kept ignorant and poor while the leaders of their countries live in opulence, and it is this ignorance and poverty that gives rise to hatred.

Anti-Semite and anti-Israel Jimmy Carter (at it again) in his new book: Peace not Apartheid, criticizes Israel for its treatment of the Palestinian minority and stupidly likens the building of fences, walls etc. around the West Bank to Apartheid. What he doesn't care to recognize is that the building of these walls is a defensive tactic not a means of oppressing or subjugating the minority population. Israel has never intentionally targeted civilians, unlike the Palestinian suicide bombers who are indiscriminate in who they target. Israelis have every right to protect themselves from potential terrorist attacks, even if that means building fences. Perhaps if there wasn't such hatred directed towards the Jews, and from all sides of their borders, they might not feel the need to protect themselves. But as long as they feel threatened with annihilation, they deserve to do whatever it takes to prevent this from happening, even if that means building barriers to achieve that goal. And Jimmy Carter should stick to building houses (with Habitat for Humanity), which is what he does best.

CARTER OPENS HIS BIG MOUTH AGAIN!

Well Carter is at it again!

Apparently he criticized Sen. Lieberrman support for the Iraq war, on Larry King Live, claiming, "He was one of the originators of public statements that misled the American people into believing that the Iraqi war was justified," adding, "He's joined in with the Republican spokespersons by saying that Democrats who disagree are really supporting terrorism, so for all these reasons, I've lost my confidence in Joe Lieberman and don't wish to see him re-elected." This, out of the mouth of one of the most truly inept Presidents of all time. And, frankly, who cares what Jimmy Carter thinks! I know I don't. This man needs to stick to building houses and stop opening his big mouth. Even though I'm a Republican, I am praying that Lieberman wins. It's disgraceful that the Democratic Party literally abandoned him because of his support for the war in Iraq. He has voted pretty much party line on everything else, over the years, but the Dems fail to acknowledge that. Thankfully, Lieberman has the sensitivity and intelligence to see the bigger picture, when it comes to the Middle East, and it matters not if he is elected as an Independent.

And while we are on the subject of Carter, I have a confession to make. I used to support Habitat For Humanity (Carter's charitable organization). For years, as I received their donation requests, I would send a check. Not much, because regional actors don't make loads of money, but it was usually $20 to $30.00 a pop. When you are making $250.00 a week (at some Theatres), that's a chunk 'o change. But I have always felt it was important to give what you can to charity and so I have always chosen very carefully the organizations I feel are worthy of my few pennies.

Admittedly, Habitat for Humanity does some wonderful things ... building houses, helping people, etc., but I finally reached a point where I felt I could not support an organization with Carter as its figurehead. So I sent them a letter asking to be removed from their list of donors, explaining the reasons why. It took several mailings before I stopped receiving their solicitations altogether, but I haven't received a thing for several years. Whether the decision was right or wrong, it's done, and I know the paltry amounts I sent are probably not missed, but thanks to Carter's verbal antics, they lost one supporter.
