ISIS Sex Slaves Are Committing Suicide, Claims Amnesty International

According to Amnesty International, Yazidi female Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) sex slaves are committing suicide or attempting to end their lives rather than be subjected to the horrors of rape and servitude.

Who could blame the poor things.

“Many of those held as sexual slaves are children -- girls aged 14, 15 or even younger,” Donatella Rovera, Amnesty’s senior crisis response adviser, said in a statement.

Amnesty said that many of the perpetrators are ISIS fighters, but may also include supporters of the group.

A 19-year-old named Jilan committed suicide out of fear she would be raped, Amnesty quoted her brother as saying.

A girl who was held with her but later escaped confirmed the account, saying: “One day we were given clothes that looked like dance costumes and were told to bathe and wear those clothes. Jilan killed herself in the bathroom.”

“She cut her wrists and hanged herself. She was very beautiful; I think she knew she was going to be taken away by a man and that is why she killed herself.”

Another former captive told the rights group that she and her sister tried to kill themselves to escape forced marriage, but were stopped from doing so.

“We tied... scarves around our necks and pulled away from each other as hard as we could, until I fainted... I could not speak for several days after that,” Wafa, 27, told the rights group.
So tragic.

Iranian Women Being Stabbed By Paramilitary Basij Forces

Women in Iran are once again being targeted, but rather than acid, they are being attacked with knives- this time in Jahrom, in the southern part of the country. Around 12 or so young women, five of whom were university students, have been stabbed in their hips in recent days.

Of four attackers, only one has been identified, and he happens to be the son of the head of the notorious paramilitary Basij Force in that region. They're the ones who are now the enforcers of the Islamic dress code and conduct.

Mohamad Beheshtifar was identified through recorded footage from a security camera near where he attacked one victim.
Mohamad Beheshtifar’s father is IRGC Colonel Jalil Beheshtifar who heads the Basij force in Ghotbabad district in Jahrom County, south of the city of Jahrom.
This criminal act followed recent protests by 300 students in Jahrom University where students protested against the suppressive measures in the university.
The attacks on university students are also taking place as university students across Iran are expected to take part in the annual protest on the occasion of Student Day on December 7 – known locally as 16 Azar – to demand political freedom in Iran.

Beheshtifar's motive:

The attacker has said he had been motivated to attack after one cleric has said “killing of a Bad-Hejab (improperly veiled women) is permissible” and he has done this to act to “prevent vice”.

Turkish Killer Of Wife and Then A Lover Looking For Love

62-year-old Sefer Çalınak (a Turkish man) killed his wife and then a lover. For both those murders (at different times of his life) he spent a paltry 14 years in jail. But now he claims he's a changed man, ready and looking for love, and promises he won't kill again.

The 62-year-old Sefer Çalınak shocked viewers when he appeared on a TV program called “Ne Çıkarsa Bahtına,” or “The Luck of the Draw,” this week, saying that women should not be afraid of him because he had learned from his past mistakes and he was ready for a new beginning, Hurriyet Daily News reported Friday.

Çalınak casually admitted that he had killed his previous wife and lover, adding that he was now an “honest person looking for a new wife.”

“Women left me after I told them that I murdered my previous two wives. That’s why I openly told them. I spent 14 years in prison. I have changed my ways,” he told the local daily HaberTürk.

“The woman who will marry me should not be afraid of me killing her,” he added.
Jealousy prompted him to kill his first wife, Fadime, who also happened to be his cousin. They married when they were both 17. He explains why he murdered her.

“Her behavior changed. The nephew of a man who wanted to marry her started to come to our village. I was jealous and I killed her."
“I served my sentence. I was released after four years and six months with amnesty, despite being given a 13-year, nine-month jail term in the first place.”
He murdered the second woman with an axe, spent some time in jail, but was also released early. Apparently she was married, but had promised to leave her hubby for Çalınak.

“I killed her after she attempted to kill me. She was accidentally killed when I swung an axe,” he explained.
Gotta love that excuse. And you know that if it had been the reverse, the woman would have spent much longer in jail.

Female Afghan Politican Injured, Young Daughter Killed By Taliban In Ambush

Another female politician attacked in Afghanistan by the Taliban. It's Ramadan, the holiest of Muslim holidays and they still shed blood.

Senator Rouh Gul Khirzad was driving on the main highway to spend Eid al-Fitr at her home in Nimroz province when her convoy was ambushed en route from Kabul. She was seriously wounded along with her husband, son, and one daughter.  Her 8-year-old daughter and their bodyguard were not so lucky- both were killed during the ambush.

Khirzad has been a senator  in the upper house since the end of 2010. She heads the defense and internal security commission.

Hanifa Safi, another politican, was killed a year ago when a bomb in her car exploded. Her husband and daughter were injured. There have been more who have been targeted.

In-Laws Who Tortured Afghan Freed From Jail By Afghan Courts

Remember Sahar Gul, the young Afghan girl who was severely tortured and locked up in a cellar in 2011 by her in-laws for refusing to become a prostitute?   Three of them (mother-in-law, father-in-law and sister-in-law) had been convicted and jailed last year for attempted murder (they had been starving her), but the appeals court reversed that decision, and the three are to be set free. The two women have already been released. No word about father-in-law, yet. The husband (30s) was never found.

The rest here.

It's not the only case of being forced into prostitution. Sahar Gul survived, Mah Gul wasn't so lucky, she was beheaded by her mother-in-law last year for refusing to engage in prostitution.

Shameful.

Afghan Gunmen Kill Female Government Official

The Obama Administration still seems to think that it can talk Taliban militants into laying down their weapons, re-integrating into Afghan society and living happily ever after in a democratic and free nation, where women aren't marginalized, terrorized or killed. So, even though the Taliban obviously have no interest, the U.S. is trying to reach out to them, again, in an attempt to broker some sort of peace agreement.  But first the Taliban want the Guantanamo prisoners back, though they'll give us Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl- one of our soldiers who has been held in Pakistan since 2009- in exchange. But one of the conditions necessary for the U.S. to send their terrorists back is predicated on the Taliban making two public statements:

... rejecting the international terrorism practiced by al-Qaeda and supporting democracy in Afghanistan.
Obama is still waiting- it's been about a year, now. We also tried back in June 2012 to bring peace talks back on the table by getting the government of Qatar to broach the subject with Taliban negotiators. Not a peep.

It's quite obvious the Taliban have no desire for peace, democracy or rejecting terrorism. We've been there how long? 11 years? And they're as violent and stronger than ever. All they have to do is wait it out until we are out of their country, and it will rapidly revert  back to the dark ages.

Until then, they will continue with their acts of terrorism against NATO troops and their own people. And they'll continue targeting women in government positions, like Najia Sediqi who was assassinated by gunmen in broad daylight.

KABUL, Afghanistan — The acting head of women’s affairs in Laghman Province in eastern Afghanistan was shot to death in daylight on Monday as she was traveling to work.

It was the second time in less than six months that the person holding that post has been assassinated. In the latest attack, two assailants on a motorcycle gunned down Najia Sediqi, the acting head, as she was getting into a rickshaw in Mehtar Lam, the provincial capital, according to Ahmad Gul Baidar, the head of administrative affairs for the women’s department.

In July, Ms. Sediqi’s predecessor, Hanifa Safi, was killed when an improvised bomb exploded under her car — an attack attributed to the Taliban but never fully investigated. Before that attack, Ms. Safi had been threatened because she had protected a young girl who married someone she loved rather than an older man to whom she had been promised.
[snip]
Zufenon Safi, who represents Laghman in Parliament, believes that both killings were carried out by the Taliban, who have gathered strength in the province. Elders and other local people say security has deteriorated in the area, whose control was turned over to the Afghan government by coalition forces last summer.

“Targeting important government officials is part of the Taliban strategy to undermine the government’s and the foreign forces’ efforts in the country,” Ms. Safi said, referring to the international coalition.

She said the Taliban singles out women in government posts because they know that killing them will garner more publicity.

“There is only one reason behind killing women: to prevent women from working in the government,” Ms. Safi added. “We should expect more similar assassinations in the upcoming weeks and months because they have threatened every female civil servant, including members of the provincial council and teachers.”

Like Palestine, there will be no peace there as long as radicals reside in that country.
