Texan Robert 'Beto' O'Rourke Raises An Obscene $70 Million In Campaign Funds

Anyone else sick of the endless, overwhelmingly negative campaign ads?  Morning. Noon. Night. And they're not just on TV. I get the robocalls- thankfully not many of those. Even received one text from a Florida Democrat asking me when he could expect me to send my ballot back.

Me: hahaha... never.
Dem: Vote by mail ballots need to be received by the Supervisor of Elections by 7 pm on Election Day, November 6 - but we say the sooner the better.
Me:  Did you read my reply?
Me:  How did you get my number?
Dem: We get our numbers from the state voter file.
Me: Well I'm not a Democrat.
Dem: Sorry to hear that.
Dem: best of luck sleeping at night.
Me: Yeah best of luck to you too. I sleep very well. I'm a moderate but I am at peace.

And my Twitter feed- replete with promoted ads begging for money.  All of them from Democrats. Especially Irish American Texan Robert Francis O'Rourke, better known as 'Beto' to appeal to the Hispanic voters no doubt. Here's a man who has hauled in a whoppingly obscene amount of campaign funds- over $70 million to date- who is still begging for money on Twitter. Last week I saw his ads claiming he had $38 million but needed more to win. What the hell?  How many people could $70 million house and feed.

Sen Ted Cruz, who O'Rourke is trying to beat has raised almost $30 million since 2017. That's still a colossal waste of money, but nothing like greedy Beto's haul.

We need campaign finance reform- now more than ever. I will soon write a post about what I think that should be.  I have some great ideas.

3 Muslims Charged With Honor Killing Of Iranian Activist In Texas

A Jordanian Muslim immigrant family (a father, mother and son) have been charged with murdering an Iranian woman in 2012 because she helped their daughter convert to Christianity. Where did this happen? Right here in the U.S. Houston. They also have been accused of killing the daughter's husband.

Gelareh Bagherzadeh, a 30-year-old researcher at MD Anderson, was shot to death outside her parents home in the Galleria area.

Ali Irsan, 57, is charged with capital murder in the case. His wife, Shmou Ali Alrawabdeh, and their 21-year-old son, Nasim, are charged with murder. Irsan is also reportedly accused of killing Coty Beavers, his daughter's husband, 10 months after Bagherzadeh was shot to death. Coty Beavers was the twin brother of Bagherzadeh's boyfriend.

The station reports that Bagherzadeh was best friends with Ali Irsan's daughter and he blamed her when the daughter left home and married a Christian, according to investigators.

"Nesreen Irsan would not succumb to her father's complete domination and rule of her. And she left his home without his permission and went into hiding," said Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson.

"These two murders are linked by the belief on the defendant's part that his honor as a father and a Muslim has been violated by his daughter, who defied his rule and married a Christian man," said Anderson.

The Irsan's daughter Nadia is charged with stalking her sister while trying to find out where she and Beavers were living.

Authorities are now taking a second look at the death of another son-in-law Amjad Alidam back in 1999, which was deemed self-defense at the time- but not according to Alidam's wife, and Irsan's daughter Nesreen.

Irsan, Shmou and a daughter have been jailed for a year as part of a fraud investigation.

Fraud. Murder. Such good Muslims.

Texas Woman Accused Of Corpse Abuse and Food Stamp Fraud

Here's another despicable case of welfare fraud. But that's not the only transgression 35-year-old Rachel Hardy-Johnson committed, Rachel and her 40-year-old husband Dondre- who owned several businesses at the time Rachel applied for food stamps as a single mother of two- was also arrested and charged with 'abuse of a corpse.' They left 7 corpses to rot, after taking money from the families for funeral services that were never performed.

And Rachel, all the while sucking the government teat for food stamps, had the gall to purchase back in 2011 and 2012, with a cashier's check (basically cash), a 2006 Hummer for $26,000, a 2008 Mercedes-Benz for $41,700 and then a 2008 Range Rover for $53,000.

It all finally caught up with her.

She could get 25 years for food stamp fraud and faces a $250,000 fine. She'll find out her fate this coming May.

Hubby (and Rachel) also face time and fines for the corpse abuse and theft.

Islamic Shariah Tribunal Runs In Texas

Think Islamic shariah isn't already creeping into the United States, think again. It's alive and well and operating in Texas.

Breitbart has all the info regarding the Islamic Tribunal that has 4 judges, who handle everything from divorce, to business disputes to family law.

An Islamic Tribunal using Sharia law in Texas has been confirmed by Breitbart Texas. The tribunal is operating as a non-profit organization in Dallas. One of the attorneys for the tribunal said participation and acceptance of the tribunal’s decisions are “voluntary.”

Breitbart Texas spoke with one of the “judges,” Dr. Taher El-badawi. He said the tribunal operates under Sharia law as a form of “non-binding dispute resolution.” El-badawi said their organization is “a tribunal, not arbitration.” A tribunal is defined by Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary as “a court or forum of justice.” The four Islamic attorneys call themselves “judges” not “arbitrators.”

El-badawi said the tribunal follows Sharia law to resolve civil disputes in family and business matters. He said they also resolve workplace disputes.

In matters of divorce, El-badawi said that “while participation in the tribunal is voluntary, a married couple cannot be considered divorced by the Islamic community unless it is granted by the tribunal.” He compared their divorce, known as “Talaq,” as something similar to the Catholic practice of annulment in that the church does not recognize civil divorce proceedings as ending a marriage.

El-badawi said they follow Texas family law when it comes to child support, visitation, and custody. He said that in most cases, custody of children is awarded to the mother.

Breitbart Texas asked what happens when there is a conflict between Sharia law and Texas law. El-badawi said most of the time, the laws are in agreement. When pushed further he admitted that, “we follow Sharia law.” However, he explained, “If the parties are not satisfied with the tribunal’s decision, they do not have to accept it and they can take the matter to Texas civil courts.” He did not say what the social ramifications of rejecting the “judge’s” decision would be.

The website for the Islamic Tribunal states, “The courts of the United States of America are costly and consist of ineffective lawyers. Discontent with the legal system leads many Muslims in America to postpone justice in this world and opt for an audience on the Day of Judgment.”

It goes on to state, “It is with this issue that Muslims here in America are obligated to find a way to solve conflicts and disputes according to the principles of Islamic Law and its legal heritage of fairness and justice in a manner that is reasonable and cost effective.”

TX Prosecutor Punished For Wrongful Conviction Of Innocent Man

Ken Anderson, a former prosecutor who then went on to become a judge, will suffer the consequences (though not much) of having intentionally sent an innocent man to jail for 25 years.

Today in Texas, former prosecutor and judge Ken Anderson pled guilty to intentionally failing to disclose evidence in a case that sent an innocent man, Michael Morton, to prison for the murder of his wife. When trying the case as a prosecutor, Anderson possessed evidence that may have cleared Morton, including statements from the crime's only eyewitness that Morton wasn't the culprit. Anderson sat on this evidence, and then watched Morton get convicted. While Morton remained in prison for the next 25 years, Anderson's career flourished, and he eventually became a judge.

In today's deal, Anderson pled to criminal contempt, and will have to give up his law license, perform 500 hours of community service, and spend 10 days in jail. Anderson had already resigned in September from his position on the Texas bench.

What makes today's plea newsworthy is not that Anderson engaged in misconduct that sent an innocent man to prison. Indeed, while most prosecutors and police officers are ethical and take their constitutional obligations seriously, government misconduct--including disclosure breaches known as Brady violations--occurs so frequently that it has become one of the chief causes of wrongful conviction.

What's newsworthy and novel about today's plea is that a prosecutor was actually punished in a meaningful way for his transgressions.

Meaningful? Not really. I don't think that 10 days in prison, 500 hours of community service or the loss of a law license can ever make up for the quarter of a century an innocent men lost while languishing in jail. But it's something.

This needs to happen more often.

Texas Farmer Holds Pig Races After Muslim Neighbour Tells Him To Move Or Get Rid Of Pigs

Kamel Fotouh decided to purchase some 11 acres of land smack dab next to pig farmer Craig Baker in Katy, Texas. That farm has been his in his family for 200 years. Fotouh, who heads the Katy Islamic Association, wants to build a mosque on his portion of the land. But Muslims don't like pigs, so Fotouh told Baker he should move the farm, or get rid of the piggies. He also apparently called Baker a liar during a town meeting with 300 or 400  people, so Baker decided to hold pig races every Friday night, right around the time of evening prayers.

“That was the last straw for me … calling me a liar, especially in front of three or four hundred people at that meeting."“Mr. Fotouh said it would be a good idea if I considered packing up my stuff and moving out further to the country.”

Supposedly Fotouh knew he was buying land next to a pig farm, but more than likely felt he could intimidate Baker into compliance. Houston (a 25-mile jaunt from Katy) has 60 or so mosques, none of which are suitable, according to Fotouh.

“We feel that these mosques are not fulfilling the needs of the community as they should. So, our vision is to have an integrated facility."

Only 30 or so members will attend that mosque.

Baker offered Fotouh 1.2 million to buy his land from him, but he refused.

Bottom line, if you don't like the looks of a potential neighbour, then don't move there.

ISIS Supporter In Houston Deli?

Islamic State of Iraq and Syria in Turkey, not surprising. This video, shot via cellphone by some Iraqis in Turkey, shows alleged ISIS fighters riding a tram in Istanbul. Then again, there are some who believe the Turks are aiding and abetting militants who are crossing from their borders into Syria, actually providing shelter and food, weapons and medical treatment.

But ISIS supporters eating at a Houston deli?

This was first published on Sept. 11, the 13th anniversary of the terror attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. According to Houston’s KTRK, a photo of a man wearing an Islamic robe with an ISIS logo has been making the rounds on various social media sites and has quite a few people wondering if indeed, ISIS is in America.

KTRK said they’ve been trying to get more information on this but hasn’t had much luck so far.
