CAIR'S Double Standards In MI Public Schools- Muslim Prayers On Campus, No Bible Class Off Campus

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has been sticking its nasty little paws into the Michigan public school system, demonstrating just how unfair they play. Not that they care, as long as it benefits Muslims.

Last October, CAIR took great offense (so what else is new) to a Detroit school handing out permission slips for children to attend an off-campus Bible studies course at a local Baptist church. Off-site, mind you, not on school grounds. So CAIR's Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid filed a complaint:

“School staff and teachers are not to serve as advocates for one particular religion or congregation within a religion by passing out slips inviting parents to give permission for their children to attend religious instruction. . . According to the United States Supreme Court, the First Amendment clearly requires that public school students and their parents are never given the impression that their school/school district prefers a specific religion over others or sanctions religion in general."
None of their business what schools do to facilitate off-site activities, but CAIR demanded an apology, and  got one.

Fast forward to April of this year, and those promoters of fairness criticized the Dearborn public schools for not accommodating prayer time for Muslim students ON campus. After filing another formal complaint, those kiddies who want to pray at school will now be able to do so.  And since Dearborn caved, CAIR now has its eyes set on other public school systems in Michigan. Watch the same thing eventually happen all over this nation.

If they want student-led Muslim prayer time on school grounds, then other religious faiths should be allowed to do so as well.

Hypocrites!

Saudi Arabian Non-Muslims Could Be Deported For Not Respecting Ramadan Fast

I'm of the mind that if you choose to move to another land/culture you need to integrate, and follow the rules of your newly adopted country. This does not happen often in the West. Though some immigrants do make the effort to assimilate, many don't. They tend to congregate in certain areas, and segregate themselves from the rest of the population. They refuse to learn the language and insist on forcing their ways on others. I don't mind cultural, ethnic and religious differences, just don't impose them on me.

That said, the latest official edict out of Saudi Arabia doesn't bother me one bit.

The Interior Ministry has told non-Muslim expats that they better not flaunt food in front of Muslims during Ramadan (which just started, and lasts a month) or they could be fired and/or deported.

The non-Muslim expatriates in this country should respect the sentiments of Muslims by not eating, drinking and smoking in public places, including roads and workplaces,” stated an Interior Ministry statement issued by the Saudi Press Agency, adding that violators will be either deported or sacked.

The ministry said that eating and drinking openly are seen as an embarrassment to Muslims, as abstaining from food and drinks from sunrise till sunset are one of the visible features of Ramadan that must be respected.

“Being a non-believer of Islam does not exempt an expatriate from being inconsiderate of the feelings of Muslims and the Islamic symbols of this country.”

They aren't forcing non-Muslims to honor the fast, just not to pig out in public. Fair enough, you live in a Muslim country, you follow their rules. And come August 18, they can start eating in public again.

Too bad so many Muslims don't "respect the sentiments" of non-Muslims in the West. Maybe we should threaten to deport Muslims (and others) who refuse to follow our rules.

Court-Ordered Virginity Tests In Iraq

It's hard to believe that in the 21st century women are being forced to undergo virginity tests to prove they were chaste until marriage. But Iraqi men are hauling their new brides into court claiming they were not virgins when they married, and the women are then ordered to go through painful, humiliating tests to prove otherwise. At least the tests have replaced death or mutilation in a religious culture that places so much importance on pre-marital celibacy for women. Not that there's anything wrong with refraining from sex before marriage, but punishing women by killing or degrading them for not doing so is unconscionable. This is why so many women go through hymenoplasty surgery, to avoid the often severe consequences of not being a virgin when marrying.

In their supreme ignorance, many Muslim men believe that bleeding is the only sign that their wife is a virgin not realizing that there are many non-sexual ways a woman might not bleed or have an intact hymen, including sports or accidents.

“They think that during the marriage, (the) first day of marriage, there should be blood... they think if there is no blood, there is no virginity,” said Dr. Sami Dawood, a forensic doctor at the Medical Legal Institute (MLI) who has been involved in the tests.

According to the director of the MLI,  Dr. Munjid al-Rezali, the tests have become so common they are performed daily.

“Most of the cases we received after the first day of marriage. The husband claim that she is not a virgin, and then the family brings her here, through the courts, this all come through the courts, and we examine her. It’s not uncommon, we are seeing a lot."
Thankfully, it's not just the woman who is subject to investigation. The husband is sometimes tested for impotency in case he is the one with the problem, not the wife.
Dawood said the court-ordered tests  are performed by three doctors, one of whom must be female, and takes anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes.

“The judge is required to send the woman for the medical test when she is accused by her husband of not being a virgin, and that is only done in this case,” lawyer Ali Awad Kurdi said.
“If it is proved that the woman was not virgin and sought to get married without telling the man, there is no law that protects her,” Kurdi said.

Muslim laws favor men, so it's not very surprising that she's not protected. And, of course, the man (who probably isn't a virgin himself) gets back all the money, gifts etc. that he showered the woman with.

Christian Woman Fired From Jordan Bank For Refusing To Wear Headscarf

Here's an interesting situation. A Christian bank worker was fired from her job at the Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank for refusing to wear a headscarf. Vivian Salameh claims that she

“refused to wear the partial head cover because it is against my principles.”

Apparently, the headscarf is now an approved (in January) part of the women's dress code at the bank, and Salameh had been warned, at least so says the bank's rep Iman Afaneh. According to Afaneh,

“Five other Christian women are working at the bank, and they are committed to wearing full uniform, including the headscarf.”

So what? Because 5 others have no problem with that doesn't make it okay for the one who does have issues. Besides, Salameh says that's not so:

“The bank uniform registered at the trade and industry ministry does not include wearing anything to cover my hair.”

But here's the deal, if you are working for an Islamic bank (or any other company that has a specific dress code) then, sorry, you need to abide by those rules. If you have a problem with that and refuse to comply, then they have a right to fire you or you need to quit. Perhaps she was hired when the headscarf was not mandatory, but if it is now, she needs to wear it or find another job.
Now this is where it gets interesting. This same kind of situation happens in the West all the time, only it's Muslims who want to wear their hijabs in companies or venues that have certain dress codes, and when they refuse to follow company rules and are fired, they enlist the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)  to intervene on their behalf, or file complaints and sue.  More often than not those companies cave. There were several cases that Disney had to deal with recently, one of which CAIR bullied its way into winning.  An intern who never mentioned during the phone interview that she wore a hijab was eventually accommodated, and she accepted the compromise.  In another case, a themed restaurant hostess Imane Boudlal, who initially was hired sans hijab and suddenly got religious on the job, filed a complaint and sued Disney for refusing to allow her to wear her scarf, even though they also bent over backwards trying to  accommodate her. I wasn't able to find any updates on that case, but hopefully it was thrown out.

Bottom line, if you are going to work at a company that requires a strict dress code, then be prepared to follow the rules, if not, find alternate employment.
