Thousands of Tunisians Protest Against Religious Extremism

I'm not sure what the Tunisian people expected when they voted for the Ennahda Party giving the so-called moderate Islamists a majority of parliamentary votes.  But you get what you vote for, though apparently there are those who are not very happy with what they got, and have once again taken to the streets.

Thousands of demonstrators gathered outside Tunisia’s constituent assembly Thursday to protest against corruption, unemployment and religious fundamentalists.

According to AFP estimates, between 2,000 and 3,000 students, teachers, miners and others assembled outside the Bardo Palace, where Tunisian lawmakers are gathering to draft a new constitution.

The protest comes partly in response to ongoing demonstrations at a university outside the capital Tunis, where Islamists have been calling for women students to wear head scarves and gender segregation in classes.

University professors at the protest chanted "No to extremism" and “Hands off the teachers,” among other slogans.

Students held placards protesting headscarves, known locally as niqabs.

“Neither mini-skirts nor niqabs” and “If you want to wear the niqab, do it at home,” were among the messages spotted.

After decades of living under President Ben Ali's secular albeit dictatorial leadership, you'd think the Tunisians would  have taken advantage of driving on the road towards democracy by not voting for Islamists. But they dumped one form of oppressive/suppressive governance for another, which will eventually turn out to be far worse in the long run.  It has already started with the Salafists- the worst of the lot- who have started pushing the envelope of religious fundamentalism.  I'm sure the "moderates" won't be too far behind.

Hopefully, though, the people will be able to nip this thing in the bud, before it turns into another Iran.

After Attack On Its Embassy In Iran Britain Closes Iranian Embassy and Gives Staff 48 Hours To Leave

I was under the impression that the Iranian people (especially the youth) were fed up with the lack of freedom and major oppression they've been subjected to for the  past 30 plus years. After all, wasn't it mostly students who initially galvanized the pro-democracy "Green Movement" in 2009 after what was deemed a fraudulent presidential election?   But there are still those who are so mired in that backward, Islamist mentality, that they would rather live under subjugation than live in a free society. Witness the students who attacked two British diplomatic compounds in Tehran, vandalizing and destroying property and shouting the usual "Death to" England mantra, all in full view of the Iranian police who did pretty much nothing at first.  Unlike the pro-democracy crowd who risked everything to protest against a repressive regime, these students love their religious masters.

The demonstrations were reported to have been staged by a new pro-regime group called The Muslim Students Followers of the Supreme Leader. They were protesting against tough new financial sanctions imposed by London last week over Iran's nuclear programme.

And though I believe that the attack could not have taken place without government knowledge and approval, officials deny any involvement.  One Tehran University associate professor, Mohammad Marandi,  claims that

“It was planned and organized by the students but it was not something that came from the government. The students were telling me days before that they were planning to be there in large numbers. They said some students would try (to storm the embassy),” he said. “I don’t think the government is happy with what happened.”

But that seems unlikely.

Britain has now retaliated by closing down its Embassy in Tehran, removed all personnel for their own safety, and has ordered the closure of the Iranian Embassy in London. Iranian diplomats have 48 hours to leave the country. I say, good for the Brits!

Not surprisingly, Iran has responded with what they do best- veiled threats.

“The British government’s asking Iranian diplomats in London to leave this country is a passive and hasty action,” the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said in statements emailed to AFP.

“Obviously the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran will take reciprocal action in this regard and holds the British government responsible for protecting the diplomatic properties and belongings in London,” he added.

“What happened at the British embassy in Tehran was unpredictable. It occured due to the anger of some demonstrators over Britain’s policies regarding the Islamic republic,” Mehmanparast said.  He noted that none of the British diplomats were hurt and said the judiciary was “dealing” with the “violators.”

Right, unlike many of the pro-democracy activists who are still rotting in jail, nothing will happen to these pro-regime thugs; and since Britain is a civilized country, nothing will happen to the  personnel or the property belonging to the Iranian Embassy.

It's hard to imagine that there are still people who are pro-Ahmadinejad, pro-Mullahs. Then again, it was  the Persians themselves who ushered in those dark years of Islamism back in the late 70s when they actually voted for an Islamic Republic.

Buying The Vote: Islamists Trying To Win The Hearts and Minds Of The Egyptian Voters With Free Meat

Initial parliamentary elections in Egypt commence on November 28th, 2011. There are over 11,000 candidates, but like Tunisia, they are predicting a win by Islamist groups. Both the Salafists (ultra conservative) and the Muslim Brotherhood are taking advantage of the Islamic holiday EID to essentially buy votes. And with over 40 percent of Egyptians living in poverty, that's not a hard sell.

In an apparent bid to win over voters in the working class areas, Islamist contenders have set up kiosks to sell meat at economical prices. Candidates in the southern Egyptian province of Assiut distributed sacrificial meat for free with their photos pasted on the beef bags, according to the semi-official newspaper Al Ahram.

In Beni Sueif, another province in southern Egypt, parliament hopefuls reportedly offered cash gifts to children.

Other contenders, mainly from the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, arranged raffle draws in which winners received valuable prizes including sheep.

For 60 years, under Hosni Mubarak's leadership,  the Islamists were banned from politics. They are now out in force trying to win over the hearts and minds of the Egyptian people.  Although still banned from campaigning in 'places of worship', the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafists are bucking the law and doing it anyway. Voters are being urged to

"elect candidates who know well God's religion and are careful to implement Sharia."
"The enforcement of God's law is coming," said Sobhi Saleh, an Islamist contender in a sermon in the coastal city of Alexandria. "The Tunisians did this and so can the Egyptians," he added, referring to the big win made by Tunisia's Islamists in the October vote.

The liberals and secularists are not very happy with this turn of events, and fear for the future of Egypt, with very good reason.

"The candidates are obviously exploiting the religious sentiments of the Egyptians to win them over," said Fat'hi Mansour, a professor of political sociology. "They are also illegally using mosques in their campaigns. This is dangerous and should be stopped," he told this newspaper.

According to him, sermons delivered by Islamist contenders or their supporters inside mosques threaten to divide Egypt into religious and non-religious people. "This was clear in the slogans chanted inside mosques against liberals and secularists," said Mansour.

"There is also an apparent manipulation of people's needs in the poor areas in campaigning. Addressing religious feelings instead of promoting religious tolerance poses a threat to Egypt."

There are female candidates, which is a promising sign, until you delve into who some of those candidates are.  Muna Salah, a veiled Salafist,  believes that

....women are deficient in intelligence and religion, and it is not permissible for them to be in authority or to occupy the office of the presidency. She defended her candidacy for the People's Council, saying that acting as a representative in the Council only partial authority and not complete authority [sic], such as the presidency of the republic. She added that she seeks to apply the Islamic shari'a, including cutting off the hands of thieves, preventing the mingling of men and women, and specifying black clothes for women and white clothes for men.

According to Translating Jihad, those sentiments are taken directly from one of the hadiths (Sahi Al-Bukhari).

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Once Allah's Apostle went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) o 'Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?" The women replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her religion." -Sahih Bukhari 1:6:301

With so much ignorance and poverty, the country is ripe for the overtaking by Islamists and their religious agenda.  So much for the Arab Spring and the reach for democracy.

Ennahda- Tunisia's Moderate Islamist Party's Anti-Israel Stance

I think most will agree that unless they are secular,  there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim, particularly when they don't reside in the West.

Tunisia's self-proclaimed moderate Islamist party, Ennahda, for all its attempts to identify itself with being moderate, is not quite what it seems to be, and the Committee For Accuracy In Middle East Reporting (CAMERA) has written an interesting article exploring that issue.

Ennahda's leader Rachid Ghannouchi who is considered a "reform-minded Islamist" is actually "rabidly anti-Israel" which CAMERA finds troubling. Also,

Noted Middle East historian Martin Kramer differs in his view of Ghannouchi from The Times, The Post or the BBC. Kramer posted on his facebook page translations of comments reportedly made by Ghannouchi in May 2011:

I bring glad tidings that the Arab region will get rid of the germ of Israel. Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, leader of the Hamas movement, once said that Israel would disappear before 2027. That date may be too far off; Israel may disappear before that.

Complaint Filed Against Catholic University Alleges Violation Of Muslim Students' Rights

The latest asinine, Muslim-instigated frivolous law suit (and no, not initiated by CAIR  believe it or not) is a complaint (60 pages no less) leveled against Washington DC based Catholic University of America.  George Washington University law professor John Banzhaf (who apparently has nothing better to do), has filed a complaint with the Office of  Human Rights in Washington DC alleging that Muslim students' human rights are being violated because the poor things have to pray in a room with Jesus Christ looking down on them and

“... surrounded by symbols of Catholicism – e.g., a wooden crucifix, paintings of Jesus, pictures of priests and theologians which many Muslim students find inappropriate.”

Well, duh, what part of Catholic don't they understand?  Private Catholic Universities will, obviously, promote Catholicism and if some of the Muslims (or others for that matter) are offended by it as Banzhaf claims they are, then they need to find another college to attend.  Preferably a public, non-religious affiliated school. Or if they prefer a Muslim education and like-minded students, then there are lots of them in the Middle East.

Human rights being violated? Please!

Banzhaf told Fox News that

“It shouldn’t be too difficult somewhere on the campus for the university to set aside a small room where Muslims can pray without having to stare up and be looked down upon by a cross of Jesus."

Why should they care who or what is looking down upon them?  If you are a faithful believer of any religion you should be able to pray anywhere, heck Muslims pray out on the streets of Paris in droves, and who knows who or what is looking down upon them there.

And no-one else seems to have any complaints.  Victor Nakas, from the public affairs office of the University said

“Our faithfulness to our Catholic tradition has also made us a welcome home to students of other religions. No students have registered complaints about the exercise of their religions on our campus.”

That's because most other religions are not demanding, as Islam has increasingly become. And it's not that the Muslim students are being prevented from praying. A university spokesman told NPR in an interview in 2010 that

“We make classrooms available, or our chapels are places where they can pray. We don’t offer Halal meat, although there are always meals that conform to Halal regulations, that allow students to do what they want.”

No Muslim University would make any concessions for students of other religions- if they are even allowed to attend.

The Office of Human Rights has said the investigation could take up to 6 months to complete. What a waste of energy.

Muslims No Longer Allowed To Pray On Streets Of Paris

Well, it looks like the information on this video is definitely old since a ban on Muslims praying on the streets of Paris went  into effect last week.

Since France has the largest Muslim population in Western Europe (almost 10% of the French population, and estimated at close to 6 million) Muslims claimed there was not enough room in the mosques for adherents to pray, hence congregating on the streets.  To accomodate the 1,000 or so that have been hauling their prayer mats outdoors, the state will rent to several Paris mosques an empty fire brigade barracks capable of holding 2,000, at least until a new mosque is built.

Not that there's a dearth of mosques in France. As of 2010, there was an estimated 2,000 mosques, although many are supposedly small.  But the leader of the Grande Mosque of Paris would like that number to change- and, of course, built with state funds, which poses a problem in a secular state. I guess he figured that  since there are approximately 40,000 churches, and Muslims account for 10% (and growing) of the French populace, 4,000 would be a goodly number.

One French writer of algerian descent, Nabila Ramdani, balks at the French law that banned state funding of any religious establishment back in 1905.  According to Ramdani,

The difference is: needs will increase exponentially; whereas Christians, Jews and others would not have as great a need for new space.  Frankly, in a secular nation,  no government monies should be spent on the building of any religious edifice. Let followers fund their own buildings.  That would solve that issue. If a country wants to remain secular, than it needs to stay out of religion.
"Other faiths, including Christians and Jews, all infringe the 1905 law, as they receive funding from the state. So there's no reason whatsoever why Muslims shouldn't enjoy the same kind of funding, even if the money is passed off as cultural money. They should have the same opportunities as other faiths."

Islam Takes Over Paris Streets- Video

Some of the information in this video is somewhat old, but it's a very good reminder of what is happening in France, and what could happen in other nations that are too afraid to oppose Muslim imperialism and thuggery.

This could happen anywhere in the West, not just on the streets of Paris. Pray in your churches, mosques, temples and synagogues, but not on the streets. Not only is it an imposition on others, it's dangerous to clog the streets up in such a manner.

UPDATE: Paris banned prayer in the streets September, 2011

Sharia for Libya- Arab World Not Ready For Democracy

I'd like to think that the Arab world is civilized enough for democracy, but it is becoming increasingly clear that this is not the case.  At least democracy in the true sense of the word.

What the West has been touting as the "Arab Spring" - revolutions that have toppled regimes in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya- is turning out to be nothing more than a re-awakening of racist, Islamist sentiments in the citizenry and leadership of some of those countries. Rather than embracing the  freedom and equality  that is part and parcel of  democracies, countries like Libya and Egypt are taking a step backwards.

Take Mustafa Abdel Jalil, interim head of Libya's National Transitional Council, who has said that although the new government will not tolerate "extremist ideology": In other words, Libya will become an Islamic state. Sharia Law is most definitely extreme, and lacks any of the fundamentals of equality, as much as Muslims like to claim otherwise. And any country that has Sharia as its rule of law, in no way qualifies to be called a democracy.  Then there are the  allegations of racism  by the so-called rebel liberators of Libya.  Apparently, they have been trying to purge Libya of the black Africans, and as a result have been arresting and murdering them. They deny it, but according to human rights organizations, there is plenty of proof. However, the hatred is definitely there, whether true or not.  According to one rebel "Libyan people don't like people with dark skins." They also don't like Jews, evident in the anti-Semitic cartoons of Gaddafi.
"We seek a state of law, prosperity and one where sharia is the main source for legislation, and this requires many things and conditions."

And I don't hold much hope for Egypt, as far as Sharia goes, if the Muslim Brotherhood gets its grips on the leadership of that country. And one of the few Middle Eastern lands that was a quasi- friend to Israel is now hurtling in the opposite direction. The current military dictatorship has no love for Israel, and that doesn't seem likely to change.  In fact, Arab Muslim journalist Khaled Abu Toameh, partially blames the government for inciting the recent mob attack on the Israeli Embassy.  According to Toameh, several days before the rampage, 23-year-old  Ahmed al-Shahat climbed 20 floors to the Israeli Embassy and removed its flag.  Rather than punishing the young man, he was honored for his "courageous" deed, and given both a job and an apartment. This, Toameh believes, was more than likely the catalyst for storming the Embassy- individuals hoping to get their praise and piece of the cake in a country with high unemployment.  He fears that it will only encourage more violence.

I'm sure there are some in that region who might possibly possess the intellectual means to embrace freedom and democracy, but I think the vast majority don't and probably never will.

Egyptian Tycoon Receives Boycotts, Lawsuits & Threats Of Severed Tongue For Posting Mickey and Minnie Mouse in Islamic Garb

Disney's Mickey Mouse has taken center stage, yet again, in the Middle East.  But this time, rather than being a tool for teaching terrorism to kids- remember Farfour the Palestinian Mouse-  he and his gal pal Minnie created a firestorm of protest against Egyptian Telecom and media tycoon-cum-politician, Naguib Sawiris.  Sawiris has had lawsuits and boycotts launched against him for posting a cartoon of Mickey with an Islamic beard and a niqab-clad Minnie from his Twitter feed. Apparently, the cartoon had already made the rounds in an email that featured the mouse couple and the quote: "this is the future of Egypt"- which is more than likely where the country is headed, given the overreaction to the post.  It probably doesn't help that after the fall of Mubarak, Sawiris formed a political party- Free Egyptians-  determined to create a secular Egypt and is a Christian Copt, to boot. As an 'infidel', he justifiably (in the minds of the Salafis who are at the bottom of all the protests) deserves all the obligatory death threats etc. that are being leveled at him, in spite of having apologized on Twitter:

"I apologise for any who don't take this as a joke, I just thought it was a funny picture no disrespect meant! Assef!! ". [sorry]

According to various news sources, Facebook pages materialized calling for a boycott of  Sawiris' cell phone company, with one group accruing over  60,000 followers.  Although I was unable to track it down, the "We are  joking Sawiris" group supposedly had the following posted on its page:

"If you are really a Muslim, and you love your religion, boycott his projects. We have to cut out the tongue of any person who attacks our religion."
It's quite obvious conservative Muslims lack a sense of humour. Time and again they demonstrate a serious inability to find the grace and humour in life, which is perhaps why they so often resort to violence. If they lightened up a bit, life would be  much more pleasant- and peaceful-  for the rest of the world. But no, they  consistently choose to be offended by even the most innocuous of things. Like a veiled Minnie and bearded Mickey.

A Leader of the Assembly Of Muslim Jurists of America Favors Shariah Over Democracy In Fatwa

Thanks to Al Mutarjim of Translating Jihad,  a full time Arab translator, we are privy to information  like the following fatwa against democracy in favor of Shariah from none other than an American Muslim.

According to Brigitte Gabriel's Act For America, this is the same organization (Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America) that sanctions 'marital rape'.

Translated from the website of Dr. Salah al-Sawy, the secretary-general of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA), 28 March 2011.

Between the Shura and Democracy

Q: What is the difference between the Shura and democracy, and which is preferred? Are there any books which could benefit me on this topic? May Allah reward you well.

A: In the name of Allah, the most merciful and gracious.
Praise be to Allah, and peace be upon him the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family, companions, and those that follow him. The Shura comes from the rulings of the shari'a, and an entire surah of the Qur'an was sent down with this name. The difference between it and democracy is that the Shura does not exist (under Islam) except in the areas of permissible actions or legislative amnesty. For things which have been stipulated in the texts of Islam, the Ummah possesses no power except to acknowledge and obey, following the saying of the Most High: "It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path" [Qur'an 33:36]. For example, it is not for the Shura to consider, "Should the noon prayer contain four or five bows?" Or, "Should we fast during the month of Ramadan, or should we replace it with the month of Shawwal?" Or, "Should we forbid wine or allow it?" Or, "Should we forbid adultery, or permit it if it's done by consensual agreement of those who have reached the legal age, and it's not done on the married couple's bed?"

Al-Bukhari said in his Sahih: "The Imams after the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) would consult the trustworthy scholars in things which were permissible, to take the best option. But if the Qur'an or the Sunnah was clear on the matter, they wouldn't transgress against it, following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The reciters of the Qur'an would consult, whether old or young, and they were careful to adhere to the book of Almighty Allah."
But democracy gives free reign to the authority of the Ummah, and puts no ceiling on it. The law is the expression of its will, and if the law says it, the conscience must be silent! A constitutionalist even said: "We have departed from the divine right to rule for kings, and replaced it with the divine right to rule for parliaments!" The shari'a, on the other hand, differentiates between the source of the legal system and the source of the political authority. The source of the legal system is the shari'a, while the source of the political authority is the Ummah. Meanwhile democracy makes the Ummah the source of both. On my website there is a book named "Political Pluralism." If you review it, it will you benefit you in regards to this topic, Allah-willing. Allah Almighty is all-powerful, all-knowing.

U.S. Taxpayer Dollars Refurbishing Mosques Overseas

With our economy tanking, and the suffering we will all inevitably have to endure as a result of projected federal and state budget cuts, why are we still sending money overseas to refurbish Mosques and churches in countries like Egypt and Cyprus? We are also providing computers and Internet access to local Imams in places like Mali and Tajikistan. All courtesy of U.S. taxpayer dollars. Doesn't charity start at home?

A New Year- Reflections On The Islamist Violence In 2010 And What The New Year Might Bring

I always have hope that with the ringing in of a New Year things might change - hopefully for the better. I know it's just another day, but for some reason the fact that we start back at January 1st, once again, signals a kind of shift- a renewed energy and excitement about the many possibilities a new year might bring.

2010 was not so great both on a personal and global level, with all the natural disasters and economic woes. But what concerns me more than my petty challenges in life are the worsening global conditions, specifically the ever increasing, never-ending violence around the world, mostly in the name of one specific religion. And sadly, I don't think a new year is likely to change the course of those events. The ranks of those hell bent on establishing a third caliphate are increasing exponentially. We saw evidence of this in all the incredible violence across the planet in 2010- all the thwarted terrorist attempts, and actual acts of terrorism. Yes, there was some violence perpetrated by lunatic anarchists, but the bulk of the death and destruction last year was in the name of Allah.

And while Muslims in the West increased their demands for special treatment and other ( sometimes major) concessions through threats and lawsuits, and attempted to muzzle criticism of their religion through howls of racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia (successfully at times), non-Muslims in Muslim-majority countries experienced an increase in violence and intolerance. Christians (and other minority religions) continued to be killed and persecuted in most if not all of those countries. And to cap that intolerant mind-set, on Friday, December 31st Pakistan came to a standstill when a mass strike by Pakistanis (instigated by Sunni Muslim clerics) occurred in response to reports that the government was considering doing away with the Blasphemy Laws. Those oh-so humane laws which can arbitrarily condemn a man or woman to death for insulting Islam or Mohammad, and on mere hear-say, mind you. I suppose it was a fitting end to the year.

And my pollyanna-ish hopes that things might change this coming year came to a crashing halt when I read today, the first day of 2011, that a suicide bomber blew up a Coptic Christian Church in Egypt. At least 21 were killed.

No, nothing is going to change until Islam joins us in the 21st century.

Somalia's Al Shabaab Demands Obama Embrace Islam Or Americans Will Die

If it wasn't for the fact that at least 20 young Somali Muslim males went missing from Minnesota several years ago, some of whom blew themselves to bits and yet others have been indicted in connection with an ongoing investigation into how and who recruited the would-be-terrorists, the latest out of Somalia would be laughable.

Al Shabaab, the marauding, hardline Islamist thugs have ravaged Somalia (along with their arch-enemies now good buddies Hizbul Islam), in an attempt to establish their uber-strict form of Sharia on the poor people of the country. Some of the most bizarre fatwas have emerged from over there, including the banning of bras and school bells, because they are un-Islamic. Somalia has been a hotbed of violence for ages, and now they are threatening to export it to the good old U.S.A. unless Barack Obama gives in to their demands. They don't want ransom money, they don't want the removal of troops from Afghanistan, they want Barry O to embrace Islam. I'm not quite sure what their rationale is for demanding that he convert to Islam, other than the fact that they might consider him one since he has a Muslim background which would mean they would expect him to 'revert' but that's what Fuad Mohamed "Shongole" Qalaf wants. During a speech broadcast on radio he said,

"We tell the American President Barack Obama to embrace Islam before we come to his country."

So, although I find the idea that some extremist goons thousands of miles away in some God-forsaken country seem to think they can threaten a President into converting to their religion rather entertaining, the fact that they already reside in the U.S. is not so amusing. I am sure the majority are law-abiding, peaceful types glad to not be subjected to the religious excesses of al Shabaab, but how many other young Somali men have been recruited into jihad like the missing Minnesotans? And look at 19-year-old Mohamed Osman Mohamud, who was absolutely convinced that dialing a cellphone was about to blow up a van at a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in Oregon this year? Not only was he Somali-born, he also happened to be a naturalized U.S. citizen.

So al Shabaab's threats are not out of the realm of possibility, which is not a comforting thought.

Danish M.P. Wants Bare Breasts In Immigration Documentary To Thwart Extremism

Holland, and now Denmark, have an idea on how to keep Muslim extremists (or any other extremists for that matter) out of their countries- by showing bare-boobed women in a documentary that all would-be immigrants must watch. Apparently, anyone who wants to move to the Netherlands must watch a documentary film introduction to the country that includes topless bathers and two men kissing. Foreign policy spokesman for the far-right Danish People's party, Peter Skaarup, wants Denmark to do the same thing. He feels that since women often shed their swim suit tops on Danish beaches, foreigners should be able to deal with that, and if they can't, then they should just stay the heck out of his country.

Denmark already is working on the documentary, which will be part of an immigration test, Skaarup just wants to add the bare boobies into the mix.

This, he said, is mainly relevant for immigrants coming from fundamentalist societies where women are oppressed and are not allowed to display their sexuality or even their hair. On the other hand Danish women are allowed to wear –-or not wear— what they please, underlining that he is not trying to provoke anyone with his statements.

“If you’re coming from a strict, religious society that might make you stop and think, oh no, I don’t want to be a part of that”, Skaarup told Danish daily, Jyllandsposten.

“Topless bathing probably isn’t a common sight on Pakistani beaches, but in Denmark it is still considered quite normal. I honestly believe that by including a couple of bare breasts in the movie, extremists may have to think twice before deciding to come to Denmark,” he said.

Naturally, there are those who aren't too thrilled about his proposal.

Integration spokesman for the conservative party, one of two government parties, Naser Khader says “a pair of naked breasts is no protection against extremism.”

“It's Quite the opposite, fundamentalists are so obsessed with sex that they will be pouring in over the borders. Maybe we should try with naked pigs,” Khader writes on his page on social networking site Facebook.

Maybe they should add bare breasts, a few piggies, and several dogs to boot. That should do the trick. But, I'm sure, the lawsuits would follow shortly.

Three Things About Islam Everyone Should Know

This video, produced by The WhiteROses, an apolitical, non-religious group based out of Europe, talks about the three things everyone should know about Islam, at least those that embrace Sharia. There are some secular ones who don't, but those who do, this video and what is disclosed applies to them. Everything it talks about can be found on Islamic websites, I have seen it with my own eyes.

I want to iterate I have no problem with Muslims who do not adhere to or promote Sharia Law in the West. I do have a major problem, however, with those who do. That is why I oppose Imam Feisl Rauf and the Park51 (Cordoba Initiative) mosque/community center he plans to build near Ground Zero. A so-called 'moderate' Muslim does not promote Sharia since those laws are anything but.

The video talks about

1. The fact that Islam has not been hijacked and the reasons why. It speaks about the major difference between the Qu'ran and the other Holy Books.

2. Sharia Law and how Islam is more of a religious political ideology rather than a religion. The video explains, in depth, about Sharia Law and the fact that it is the duty of Muslims to establish Sharia worldwide.

3. Taqiyya. The whole concept of lying and deceiving the enemy, in other words all Western infidels, in order to advance 'creeping Sharia.'

In case the video gets pulled, which is likely at some point in time, here's a great source that includes all the information mentioned in the video plus more.

Shariah Law - A Video Poem By Ex-Muslimah Nessrrinn

Shariah law, which is part and parcel of Islam and what many Muslims want for the whole world including the West, is an abomination, at best. It should never be allowed to coexist with civil/secular law in a western, democratic society. The barbaric punishments from amputations to executions by stoning, the prehistoric views about women belong back in the dark ages, not in a civilized, enlightened modern world. It has no place in the 21st century.

Unfortunately, we have no say with respect to the use of Shariah law in Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East and places like Malaysia and Indonesia, but we do have a say as to whether it should be allowed in the West. It's up to us to make sure that it never takes root despite groups that actively seek to establish it in our lands. People need to be educated about what Shariah law actually entails, though most haven't a clue, hence their ignorance.

There are many fighting against creeping Shariah, infidels who happen to be non-Muslim, but there are also ex-Muslims who are fighting the good fight, and who better to enlighten us than Muslim apostates. Nessrrinn, an ex-Muslimah, waxes poetic on the abject cruelty of Islamic Shariah Law.

SHARIAH LAW

she's buried chest high
her arms can't stop the stones that fly
or wipe the tears that have already dried
for a crime she so persistently denied
she's buried chest deep
the moderates asleep
no matter how hard she weeps
worth half of a man, her testimony's cheap
Allah subhana wa ta3ala has come up with such a fair rule
dictators of history couldn't be so cruel
told by mohammed sallahu 3alhe wa salam
teaching us allah's divine referendum
what becomes of those who have a sip of rum
drinks to forget or wants to be numb
or those who play the game of chance
poker buddies escaping the religious trance
allah's prescribed in his merciful script
their flesh be ripped their blood be dripped
at the tip of a muslims whip
she's buried chest high
her arms can't stop the stones that fly
or wipe the tears that have already dried
for a crime she so persistently denied
and this is allah's eternal reply
1400 years of backwards law
a tragic flaw of the primitive claw
the tribe of homosexuals
koum lot as they say
sharia is clear on how they should pay
the price for their gay display
life doesn't matter which way
abu baker got them with a tumbling wall
ali muhammad's cousin and son in law
had people burned for their sexual call
an entire village children and all
she's buried chest deep
the moderates asleep
no matter how hard she weeps
worth half of a manher testimony's cheap
apostates remember those who have bled
to speak the word Muslims leave unsaid
killed for the sake of those mislead
submit now or be left dead
allah subhana wa ta3ala has come up with such a fair rule
the devil himself couldn't be so cruel
she's buried chest high half way deep
while the moderates are still fast asleep
while the world stands silent
her testimony's cheap.
stones thrown by religious sheep.
witches were burned long ago
til the flame of freedom began to glow
and we learned to say the word 'no'
no know that your laws are unjust
not worthy of respect only disgust
beheading those with a knifes thrust
oh but in Allah we blindly trust
she's buried head high
in a heap of stones.
no more crying no more moans
all that's left is skin and bones
Allah has come up with such a fair call
the true justice of sharia law

Not All Muslims Support Building A Mosque At Ground Zero

Building a mosque at ground zero is an affront to all those who lost their lives on 9/11 (and thereafter, as a result of 9/11) and all their loved ones. And regardless of the reasons and so-called good intentions for Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf to build a mosque where so many innocent Americans lost their lives through an act of Islamic terrorism, not all Muslims believe it's a good thing.

M. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, a Syrian/American, and former US Navy lieutenant commander thinks not. In an op-ed in the New York Post he explains why ground zero is not an appropriate place to build

an ostentatious $100 million, 13-story Muslim community center including a gym, a swimming pool, a performance-arts facility and a mosque.
As a man whose parents moved here from Syria, and who helped construct local Muslim community-built mosques in the various towns they lived, he's concerned that some of the funding for the mosque at ground zero is possibly being provided by foreign Islamists, and whatever those ramifications are, could be troubling.

I am an American Muslim dedicated to defeating the ideology that fuels global Islamist terror -- political Islam. And I don't see such a "center" actually fighting terrorism or being a very "positive" addition near Ground Zero, no matter how well intentioned.

To put it bluntly, Ground Zero is the one place in America where Muslims should think less about teaching Islam and "our good side" and more about being American and fulfilling our responsibilities to confront the ideology of our enemies.

Jasser is one of those rare few who appreciate that they are Americans who happen to be Muslim and looks at things from that perspective.

This is not about the building of a mosque or a religious facility. It is not about religious freedom. This is about a deep, soulful understanding of what happened to our country on 9/11.

When Americans are attacked, they come together as one, under one flag, under one law against a common enemy that we are not afraid to identify. Religious freedom is central to our nation - and that is why the location of this project is so misguided. Ground Zero is purely about being American. It can never be about being Muslim.

The World Trade Center site represents Ground Zero in America's war against radical Islamists who seek to destroy the American way of life. It is not ground zero of a cultural exchange.

We American Muslims cannot merely passively avoid Islamists like the Muslim Brotherhood and its offshoots. We need to ask ourselves: Are we Americans who happen to be Muslim or Muslims blindly demanding to be American?

This is one of the rare few who realize that radical Islam is just as much a threat to them as it is to the rest of us.

On Sept. 12, 2001, I was first an American. When those planes hit the World Trade Center, they hit at the core of my being as an American. The attack on my faith by the terrorists was secondary to their attack on my homeland.

We need to focus our efforts more transparently on teaching Muslim youth that the American concepts of liberty and freedom are preferable to sharia and the Islamic state. American Muslims represent the best opportunity to fight Islamist radicalization not because we understand Islam but because we have experienced and understood what American liberty provides to the Muslim experience.

Americans must always remember the horrors of 9/11 and must be vigilant in not allowing political Islam to wear down the principles that built our country.

We need more like Jasser to speak up.

There Is No Free Speech In Islam- Artist Lars Vilks Attacked By Muslims At A Lecture On Free Speech

Not so ironically, Lars Vilks (the Swedish artist who drew Mohammad's head on the body of a dog back in 2007) was giving a lecture on free speech at the University of Uppsala when he was attacked by Muslims. One of whom head-butted the old man.

"He head-butted me and I fell into the wall and lost my glasses," Mr Vilks said. He added he was unharmed.

A spokesman for Uppsala police said about 20 people tried to attack Mr Vilks after interrupting his lecture, adding that the police had to intervene to stop them. Two people were detained.

So much for free speech, which just doesn't seem to be part of the Islamic vernacular. Muslims (and not all of them extremists) want this man's head on a plate for having insulted their prophet. I suppose being headbutted is a tad better than being threatened with death, and he's certainly had plenty of those threats. Blond, blue-eyed American Colleen LaRose aka "JihadJane" this past March was arrested for trying to enlist other whack jobs to do the man in.

Of course Vilks is in good company. Kurt Westergaard, the Danish cartoonist who created the Mohammad with a Turban bomb cartoon, has also been threatened with death, and attacked and almost murdered by an axe-wielding Somali extremist. And then you have Trey Parker and Matt Stone of "South Park" who were also told they could face a similar death to Dutch Filmmaker Theo Van Gogh, who was murdered by a Muslim fanatic who took offense to his film about the oppression of women in Islam.

All of these people exercising their rights to free speech, thwarted by a religion that wants to muzzle everyone.

The video below, is disturbing but shows the attack on Vilks, a 64-year-old man. This has got to stop!

So Much For Free Speech: Israel Ambassador Michael Oren Heckled By Muslim Students At UC Irvine

Free speech and civilized debate is not alive and well and living in these United States of America, if what happened at UC Irvine several weeks ago is any indication.

Israel's Ambassador to the United States, American born author, scholar and historian Michael B. Oren, was invited to speak at U.C. Irvine regarding U.S./Israel relations, from a historical perspective. Naturally it was opposed by the Muslim Students Union, and there was anticipation that there might be some disruptions, but what university officials had hoped would be a respectful albeit spirited discussion, turned into major disruptive, one-sided protest. Oren was incessantly heckled by the Muslim students as he addressed an audience of community members, students and faculty on February 8. He was barely able to get through his speech without being rudely interrupted. Every few minutes a student would stand up and shout some predetermined, anti-Israeli invective including "Michael Oren, propagating murder is not an expression of free speech!" and other, often unintelligible, words of protest. These verbal attacks were immediately followed by a loud cacophony of shrieks, hollers and clapping. Each outburst was followed by admonitions from both Oren and faculty members for civility and respect, which obviously was not part of their agenda.

The police escorted the first heckler out, but thereafter the punks proudly made their way to the police to be escorted out. Eventually the rest of the large, ragtag group of young males and females, both with and without hijab, left en masse to continue their disruptions outdoors. 11 or 12 of the students were arrested although they were later released. Neither the threat of being arrested nor being suspended or thrown out of school deterred them from their class-less actions. Oren, on the other hand, was a class act throughout the whole ordeal. The students had been told they would have the opportunity to ask questions and debate the issues once the speech was over, but they obviously had no intention of doing that.

What one woman was quoted as saying pretty much sums up the whole situation: “Every time there’s an event they’re opposed to, they disrupt it,” said Pam Chozen, a Laguna Beach resident who said she felt concerned for her personal safety. “No one from the other side would think of disrupting an MSU event.”

And so it is. We afford them their right to free speech, but it's not reciprocated. That has to change!
