Why Do Christopher Lane and Delbert Belton Matter Less Than Trayvon Martin?

I find it interesting how very little has been said about the recent spate of senseless random murders that have been plaguing this country. The Trayvon Martin death and subsequent trial of George Zimmerman filled my Facebook feed daily. People were outraged. Yes, had Zimmerman done what he had been told-  not to pursue- Trayvon would still be alive. I wish that were the case.  He didn't deserve to die, but he wasn't the 'innocent' that everyone portrayed him to be, and we will never know exactly what went down the night Trayvon and George crossed paths during Zimmerman's neighbourhood watch patrol. But not a peep on Facebook about Australian baseball player Christopher Lane who also didn't deserve to die, and deserves as much, if not more, attention.

In Lane's case, three evil Oklahoman reprobates gunned him down while he was jogging because they were "bored" and just felt like they wanted to kill someone. Sure Christopher Lane was white, and two of his killers- 15-year-old James Edwards Jr. and 16-year-old Chancey Luna- are black, (Michael Jones, 17, who is being charged as an accessory looks like he might be bi-racial), and Edwards had posted "anti-white" statements on his Twitter feed, but this goes beyond race. It also goes beyond the gun control issue. If these kids had wanted to kill someone that night, and they didn't happen to have a gun, they would have found a way to accomplish their goal.  Look at the two Spokane, Washington teens who beat octegenarian World War II vet Delbert "Shorty" Belton so severely he later died. No gun, no knife, just their hands. They too were teens. Kenan Adams-Kinard and Demetrius Glenn, both sixteen, allegedly robbed Belton.

Who knows if race had anything to do with Christopher Lane or Delbert Belton being targeted. Maybe, maybe not. But I do know it has everything to do with raising a generation of conscienceless kids who have absolutely no moral compass. Kids who are influenced by the violent music they listen to and the violent video games they play. Kids who are obviously not taught to respect others.

Why isn't Barack Obama as outraged about these random killings as he was about Trayvon Martin's death?  Why isn't Jesse Jackson weighing in on the issue? Why do none of my Facebook 'friends'  seem to care about Belton and Lane? 

We need to address the issue of teen violence.

The Not-So-Innocent Trayvon Martin By Bill Whittle

Bill Whittle brings up some interesting facts about the Trayvon Martin case that the main stream media has failed to discuss.

Everyone has been focusing on how an "innocent" young boy was murdered, and all he had on him was some candy and iced tea.  Let me preface this by saying George Zimmerman should never have engaged Trayvon after 911 told him to not pursue, but Trayvon was not the innocent young boy the media would have us believe. Neither was the bag of skittles and Arizona watermelon iced tea found by his body.  Apparently, there's an extremely intoxicating and powerful drug concoction called "Lean" (with some serious side effects) that is popular with the hip-hop crowd, and all you need is a bag of skittles, Arizona Iced Tea (or something similar) and the cough syrup Robitussin DM.  He had two of the ingredients needed to concoct Lean. Did he have the Robitussin at home, or was it just a co-incidence? Considering Trayvon was into drugs I would venture to say it was not a co-incidence, but we will never know.

The Conservative Treehouse has some Facebook postings and other info, including references to drugs, regarding the not-so-innocent Trayvon.

Charles Barkley On Race Relations In The U.S. Claims There Are Black Racists

Although I disagree with him about George Zimmerman "racially" profiling Trayvon Martin, former NBA star Charles Barkley has some interesting very valid things to say about race relations in the U.S., and the Zimmerman verdict. He believes that the Zimmerman verdict was fair, per the evidence presented, though he faults him for "racially profiling" and for getting out of his car.

But he also discusses how racism is not exclusively a white thing.

"... when people talk about race, they always want to act like it's only white people who are racist,  listen, there are black people who are racist also."

He also faults the media for exacerbating racial tensions.

Iran Demands Justice For Trayvon Martin

This is rich- Iran, a country that jails, persecutes, and executes religious minorities, hangs gays, and executes minors, has blasted the U.S. for its "racial discrimination" by acquitting George Zimmerman.

“The acquittal of the murderer of the teenage African American once again clearly demonstrated the unwritten, but systematic racial discrimination against racial, religious, and ethnic minorities in the US society,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Araqchi was quoted as saying by Iran’s state run Fars News Agency.

“The court ruling has also seriously put under question the fairness of the judicial process in the United States,” Fars reported Araqchi as saying.

“Several months on since a probe was launched [into the murder], the public opinion in the U.S. and across the world expect transparency, an accurate and fair judicial investigation into the case, with due regard to human rights principles for American citizens and a ban on discrimination against minorities in the country,” Araqchi said.

Black Panthers- Zimmerman "A No Good Jew" Has A Bounty On His Head

Mikhail Muhammad, the Southern regional minister of The New Black Panther Party of Self Defense, speaking in Jacksonville regarding Trayvon Martin being "assassinated by a wicked white beast, who today is talking about he's a hispanic, and so we're not going to go along with that. We don't care, cos his father is a Jew. He's a no good Jew."

Interesting how groups like the Black Panthers will classify Barack Obama as black, when he is actually half white and half black, and yet Zimmerman who is half hispanic and half white, is considered white. And note the anti-Semitism. Ironic.

And then there are the threats. They have a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman's head, "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth",  as Muhammad puts it. He also talks about how the Panthers will no longer tolerate white America killing their babies, and how they are mobilizing thousands of African American men to handle the situation.

Why don't they mobilize those men and focus on stopping the black on black violence.

God Is A " White Racist" Claims Ivy League Professor After Zimmerman Verdict

Anthea Butler is an associate professor of Religious Studies at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania. In a blog post on Religion Dispatches, Anthea had this to say about the George Zimmerman verdict:

“God ain’t good all of the time. In fact, sometimes, God is not for us,” she wrote in the post. “As a black woman in an [sic] nation that has taken too many pains to remind me that I am not a white man, and am not capable of taking care of my reproductive rights, or my voting rights, I know that this American god ain’t my god.

“As a matter of fact, I think he’s a white racist god with a problem. More importantly, he is carrying a gun and stalking young black men."
