U.S. Terror Suspect's Niqab-Clad Mom Tells ISIS To "Leave Our Children Alone!"

Remember the Chicago 19-year-old- Mohammed Hamzah Khan - who was caught at the airport last October trying to make his way to Syria to fight with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, along with his 16-year-old bro and 17-year-old sister? Well, an inconsolable mama Khan is really upset at those ISIS dudes for brainwashing Muslim kids to join ISIS, especially after the "unspeakable acts of horror" in Paris last week. So upset, she felt the need to speak her mind- in the courthouse lobby, of course- right after her poor baby pleaded not guilty to attempting to aid and abet a foreign terrorist organization. The guy does face up to 15 years in prison, so a little anti-terrorist rhetoric is opportune.

Zarine Khan, standing next to her husband Shafi, had this to say:

"The venom spewed by these groups and the violence committed by them ... are completely at odds with our Islamic faith." "We condemn the brainwashing and recruiting of children through the use of social media and the Internet."

And this message for ISIS and its appointed Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi:

"We have a message for ISIS, Mr. Baghdadi and his fellow social media recruiters," she said, raising her voice. "Leave our children alone!"

But this woman needs to take a good, hard look at herself and her bearded husband for the reasons why her three kids, all of whom lived at home, chose to run away to join join an Islamic terrorist group. She wears a niqab in a Western country. Not even a hijab. A niqab! It covers everything but her eyes. No effort to assimilate and integrate for these Indian-born immigrants and their U.S.-born kids. As devout as the parents are it's not surprising the kids could become so easily radicalized, if they weren't somehow radicalized at home. They claim they had no idea

Mohammed's attorney, Thomas Durkin, says the guy was radicalized online. The letter he left his parents is proof enough, along with the ISIS flag doodles. And his sister posted on her Twitter account @DeathIsVNear a smiley face and a heart in response to an ISIS propaganda video full of   beheadings.  Mohammed still aspires to live in an Islamic Caliphate. Were his parent's that stupid that they had no clue what was going on in their kids' lives?

Mohammed wasn't the only one who left a letter. The other two did as well.

Mohammed wrote:

“An Islamic State has been established and it is thus obligatory upon every able-bodied male and female to migrate there." “Muslims have been crushed under foot for too long. . . . This nation is openly against Islam and Muslims. . . . I do not want my progeny to be raised in a filthy environment like this.”

Where does a 19-year-old learn to hate the West? From uber religious parents.

Sis wrote:

 “Death is inevitable, and all of the times we enjoyed will not matter as we lay on our death beds. Death is an appointment, and we cannot delay or postpone, and what we did to prepare for our death is what will matter.”

The kids asked the parents to join them and to not tell the police.

When the FBI showed up at their door with a search warrant they were allegedly shocked and "stunned."  In an interview at Durkin's office one day, Zarine insisted:

“What they wrote in those letters is not from us." “Those are not our teachings. That’s not what we believe in. This didn’t even come from our family, friends, neighbors — nobody.”

You won't convince me that it didn't somehow start at home.

"We tried to be the best parents we could,” she said. “That’s all I can say — we tried our best. And they are good kids. This thing came out of the blue. We are still trying to figure it out.”

Tried their best? Obviously not. One child running off, I might believe it, but all three, there's something fundamentally wrong in the way they were raised. They even went to an Islamic school, who knows how they were indoctrinated there.

And then this:

Shafi Khan, who came to Chicago from India almost 30 years ago, and Zarine Khan, who followed her husband 20 years ago, said they consider themselves “average” Muslims, no more or less religious than any of their friends and neighbors in Bolingbrook, Ill., a suburb of about 73,000 people southwest of Chicago.

They try to pray five times a day but said they often don’t. Shafi Khan wears a bushy beard and a white knit skullcap, which he said is an attempt to follow the example of the prophet Muhammad. Zarine Khan covers her head and most of her face, which she considers a sign of modesty, not extreme piety.

Sorry Zarine, but the niqab is a sign of extreme piety and religious fundamentalism, not a sign of modesty.

The Washington Post article inadvertently, or maybe not, points out all the contradictions in how the kids were actually raised and how the parents claim they raised them. It's worth a read.

Younger bro and sis lucked out, they have not been charged, as of yet. They also have a three-year-old girl.

And they blame most of the problems in the black community (including poverty, black on black crime) on the liberal black leadership in those black communities.

Watkins is the founder of V.O.T.E. (Voices of the Ex-Offender), Carter is also an activist with V.O.T.E. Paul McKinley, another activist with V.O.T.E was the Republican nominee to replace Jesse Jackson, Jr. Ward is a former gang member with the Gangster Disciples, turned businessman/activist.

Socialist Prez Of Chicago Teachers Union Owns 3 Homes, 1 in Hawaii May Run For Mayor

Karen Lewis, the president of the Chicago Teachers Union, was out there with the best of them during the heyday of the "Occupy" movement. At a protest on October 10, 2011, she was rallying the troops talking about the 'inequitable redistribution of wealth" and the "robber baron mentality." She's also considering a run against current Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, calling him "Mayor 1%", and labelling herself neither "egotistical or rich."  But Lewis makes over $200,000 a year, and with her husband owns a $450,000 condo in Chicago, a $240,00  home on the Big Island of Hawaii, co-owns with her sister a vacation home in Union Pier, Michigan worth $305,000, and has time shares in New York, Mexico and Colorado, and two in Hawaii.

She's nowhere near as rich as multimillionaire Rahm, but what she makes 'aint too shabby, so her criticism of the wealthy smacks a tad hypocritical.

“Why do people of wealth and privilege try to convince the world they have neither?” she said on Twitter last year. “Be honest that you don’t have a clue about poverty.”

Though she hasn't yet decided whether she will run (there's a 50-50 chance she will), polls have her leading Emanuel by 9 percentage points.

She might not be in the top 1% but she's up there in the top 5, and admittedly so.

 “I don’t live extravagantly. But if you look just at the numbers, then, absolutely, I am in the 5 percent.

“We are comfortable." “We are not poor. We have never been poor. Does that mean I don’t have the pulse of [the poor]? I don’t live in luxury. I don’t hang out with wealthy people. I have always been solidly middle class.

“You cannot put me in the same class with Rahm Emanuel or [Republican gubernatorial candidate] Bruce Rauner.”

Solidly middle class, I think not. Maybe upper middle class, but more like rich.

Chicago ATM Robber Wears Burqa To Hide Dectection

Gildardo Lopez Jr. was afraid he was about to lose his job with Garda Cash Logistics, so the Chicago ATM tech decided he would rob a Chase bank, wearing a burqa, take the money and run off to the Dominican Republic. Trouble is, he asked an employee at the bank for a key that would disable the alarm system.  The worker then told the FBI, and Lopez was arrested.

As FBI agents watched in the early morning hours Thursday, ATM technician Gildardo Lopez Jr. walked up to the Chase bank branch at 14 S. LaGrange Rd. disguised as a woman with a black burqa over his face, a walkie-talkie connected to ear buds and carrying a black suitcase, authorities said.

Lopez slipped on a pair of latex gloves and went inside the bank’s ATM vestibule. When he emerged 15 minutes later, authorities said, the suitcase was stuffed with $168,174 in cash.

“There’s a lot of money in there,” the complaint quoted Lopez as telling FBI agents who took him into custody. Later, while under arrest at the LaGrange police station, he called his older brother and was overheard by an agent saying, “Call Leo, I f****d up,” the charges alleged.

Obama Will Go Down As One Of The Worst Presidents Ever, Claims Chicago Resident

Obama "is gonna go down as one of the worst presidents ever" claims one Chicago resident.

The people in the following video are pissed as heck that Obama is pumping beaucoup bucks into providing for illegal immigrant children crossing the borders while neglecting the children of Chicago who are being gunned down in droves in the gun-controlled city.  Over the July 4th weekend, 82 people were shot and 16 killed.  In the video, one man likens the city to Beirut.

Ironic, considering Chicago is Barack Obama's home town.



This isn't the first time Obama has been criticized by Chicago residents.  These black activists blasted Obama's State of the Union speech back in January.

Terrorist Hijabi Doll Card Outrages US Muslims

Chicago Muslims have their knickers in a twist over a greeting card, and of course Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is right in the thick of it.

A Chicago Muslim activist has spotted a troubling greeting card featuring an adorable hijab-wearing doll with an exploding message that equates smiling, non-threatening Muslims with extremist terrorists.

“Nothing identifies this doll as a terrorist in the minds of the card designers other than that she wears a Hijab,” Ahmed Rehab, Executive Director of the Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), wrote in an article published by the Chicago Monitor on Friday, May 3.

“Moreover, she is a smiling, non-threatening normal-looking female wearing a pink Hijab and a flower-patterned dress.

“The unmistakable message behind the “humor” is that even the most peaceful looking Muslims are synonymous and exchangeable with terrorists.”

Oops.

The card is a photograph of an actual talking doll called "Aamina, the Muslim Doll" which says things like "Assalamu Alaikum is the Muslim greeting, and it means peace be upon you", and "Let's play together insha'Allah, insha'Allah means if God wills it." Desi Doll company manufactures the doll and was designed by a mom who wanted to teach her three kids Arabic and Urdu.

According to Rehab,

“Islamophobic generalizations and negative stereotypes often hit those who are most visibly perceived as Muslim, and women wearing the Hijab are often the group hit the hardest."

Of the card company, NobleWorks Inc, Rehab said:

“There are those who will claim Muslims do not have a sense of humor."

“But one would like to think humor comes with (even a minimal degree of) intelligence.

“The notion that a doll, that looks like any other doll that any little girl in the world would play with, can be presented as a terrorist doll simply and only because it is a “Muslim” doll or because it has a “Muslim scarf” on its head is not what defines “funny” for a lot of people, but bigoted, ugly, idiotic, moronic, etc."

Greedy Chicago Public School Teachers Strike

For the most part, teachers are overworked and underpaid. Yes, they work short hours and they get 3 months out of the year off, plus all those other vacation days; but they have to prepare lesson plans and grade papers, and oftentimes deal with troublesome kids. Depending on where they teach, that is. Most also have to pay for supplies out of their own pockets.

The average K-12 grade teacher's salary is a paltry $42,000.00, with an average starting wage of $39,000.00. That's not much for shaping the minds of our youth. And according to this NY Times opinion piece, those salaries are dropping:

At the moment, the average teacher’s pay is on par with that of a toll taker or bartender.Teachers make 14 percent less than professionals in other occupations that require similar levels of education. In real terms, teachers’ salaries have declined for 30 years. The average starting salary is $39,000; the average ending salary — after 25 years in the profession — is $67,000. This prices teachers out of home ownership in 32 metropolitan areas, and makes raising a family on one salary near impossible.

So how do teachers cope? Sixty-two percent work outside the classroom to make ends meet. For Erik Benner, an award-winning history teacher in Keller, Tex., money has been a constant struggle. He has two children, and for 15 years has been unable to support them on his salary. Every weekday, he goes directly from Trinity Springs Middle School to drive a forklift at Floor and Décor. He works until 11 every night, then gets up and starts all over again. Does this look like “A Plan,” either on the state or federal level?

So how much do you think those striking 30,000 or so Chicago Public School teachers make per year?  Must be pretty dang low, right?  Wrong!  The average teacher's annual salary- not counting benefits- is a whopping $74,000.00 to $76,000.00! That's almost $7,000 to $9,000 more per year than the average salary of someone who has toiled as a teacher for 25 years. And almost double the national average.

So what are they striking about?  Mayor Rahm Emmanuel already upped the salary increase to 16% over 4 years, though the union had wanted 30% over 2. Some of the concessions the union (CTU) is demanding seem fair enough:

We have restored some of the art, music, world language, technology and physical education classes to many of our students. The Board also agreed that we will now have textbooks on the first day of school rather than have our students and teachers wait up to six weeks before receiving instructional materials.

and

“We are demanding a reasonable timetable for the installation of air-conditioning in student classrooms--a sweltering, 98-degree classroom is not a productive learning environment for children. This type of environment is unacceptable for our members and all school personnel. A lack of climate control is unacceptable to our parents.

This has more to do with the kids than the greedy teachers. But the rest of the sticking points have to do with the teachers. As expected, there are differing opinions as to what the major sticking points are. Emmanuel says it now boils down to two issues:

From Emanuel's perspective, after weeks of negotiation, only two issues remain unresolved. The first is a principal's right to choose the teachers that work in his or her school. "It's essential that the local principal who we hold accountable for producing the educational results not be told by the CPS bureaucracy ... and not be told by the union leadership who to hire," he said.

Second, he added, is the impasse over how to implement a recent law that requires standardized tests to count for, initially, one quarter of all teacher evaluations. "I'm telling you, these were the final two issues," he said, exasperated.

Longer work hours are also a bone of contention- they have one of the shortest school days at a little over 5 hours- as well as health benefits. They don't want any changes to their benefits since they have it pretty darn good.

It should also be noted that Chicago teachers pay only 3% of their health insurance premiums. [snip] The CPS is possibly trying to raise that amount by 7% so the teachers would be paying 10% for their health insurance premiums (note: the majority of taxpayers footing the bill for these teachers are paying 25% or more for their own health insurance).

Chicago schools have a huge fail rate with about 40% of students dropping out, and they want their salaries raised?  No wonder they don't want evaluations. They want to sit back on their haunches getting premium pay for few hours.  At least Emmanuel is bucking for the kids (he feels longer hours are helpful) the teachers obviously are not.

Chicago- No To Chik-fil-A, Yes To Anti-Gay Nation of Islam Restaurant Salaam

By now everyone knows about the Chik-fil-A controversy, and the call for a boycott of the Christian-owned fast food chicken eatery by the gay and lesbian community (and supporters) after president Dan Cathy admitted he is anti-gay marriage. He didn't specifically say he was anti-gay, he simply stated that he believes in the "biblical definition of the family unit."  Heck, there are gays I know who are against gay marriage. Not many, mind you, but there are some. Does that make them anti-gay? I really don't care one way or another, there are far more pressing global issues to be concerned about, like a nuclear Iran, or the massacre in Syria.  Should gays and lesbians and their partners have rights, absolutely. Should they be discriminated against? No way. But gay marriage is not something  I spend much time thinking about. 

So now everyone wants to shut down a company that employs thousands, in an economy that is tanking. How smart is that. If you don't agree with the philosophy of a particular company, don't patronize that business, but don't force everyone else to do the same. Cathy is  not going to change his stance on gay marriage, so what's the point?  He didn't call for the killing of gays, unlike the Westboro Baptist wackos; or that extremely un-Christian pastor in N.C. who thought it would be a great idea to round up gays and lesbians, corral them behind an electric fence, and let them die; or pretty much the bulk of one particular religion, at least in the Middle East and parts of Asia.

Ironically, Chicago just opened its arms to a restaurant built by anti-gay, anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan's the Nation of Islam, and yet Rahm Emanuel has said he backs the blocking of the construction of another Chik-fil-A in Chi-town. What most of the people calling for a boycott don't realize is that Chik-fil-As are franchised, and maybe some owners might not have as strong an opinion against gay marriage as Cathy, and they will suffer as well, along with all the people they employ who might so happen to be pro-gay marriage.
So, back to Salaam, the Nation of Islam's 5 million dollar eatery.  It sounds like a great place to eat, healthy dining, great vegetarian options. Just up my alley  Would I eat there? Never. Why? Because of Farrakhan's hate-filled ideology. Would I tell people to boycott? No. Should gays boycott Nation of Islam restaurants because of their anti-gay rhetoric? If they are boycotting Chik-fil-A, they sure as heck should. The Nation of Islam is a far greater threat than a man who doesn't support gay marriage.  Farrakhan also happens to be anti-gay marriage.

Legal Insurrection blog also points out the hypocrisy of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino's declaration that he would block a planned Boston Chik-fil-A- although he was taken to task for that by a Boston Globe editorial:

But which part of the First Amendment does Menino not understand? A business owner’s political or religious beliefs should not be a test for the worthiness of his or her application for a business license.

Chick-fil-A must follow all state and city laws. If the restaurant chain denied service to gay patrons or refused to hire gay employees, Menino’s outrage would be fitting. And the company should be held to its statement that it strives to “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect — regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation, or gender.” But beyond the fact that Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays, the religious beliefs of the company’s top executive don’t appear to control its operations.

LI also references a blog post by Michael Graham that claims Mayor Menino supported a homophobic mosque in Boston.

This is the Islamic Society of Boston’s mosque in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood, a.k.a. “Menino’s Mosque.

Mayor Menino “sold” $2 million worth of city property to the ISB for $175,000, despite their well-documented links to Muslim extremism. The mosque teaches a form of Islam that condemns homosexuals to death.

And Menino won’t let a guy spend his own money opening a restaurant because he doesn’t support same-sex marriage? Hey, Mayor Moron—when was the last time Chick-Fil-A stoned a gay guy to death?

How's that for liberal hypocrisy.
