Tarek Fatah Blames The Left For The Success Of Islamism

Pakistani/Canadian Muslim Tarek Fatah explains why he believes that Western leftists and liberals are partly to blame for the rise and success of Islamism and jihadi terrorism around the world.

As the world struggles to understand and cope with the rise of pan-Islamism and international jihadi terrorism within western countries, one thing is becoming increasingly clear.

The success of the Islamists is partly due to what I believe is a grand betrayal of civil society by the political left in the western democracies.

Instead of leading the fight against the fanatics’ religious obscurantism, they have embraced it.

The refusal of social democrats, liberals and leftists to stand up to Islamofascism in the democracies of Europe, North America, India and South Africa, has also had an unintended consequence.
He believes the "anti-immigrant backlash against all non-whites" is a direct result of the failure of the left to deal with Islamofascism before it became such a huge problem.  He says:

Imagine if Labour in the UK, Democrats in the U.S., the Congress and CPM in India, socialists in France and the left in Canada had not catered to Islamists, but instead drawn a line in the sand on such issues as gender apartheid.

Think how different things would be today.

Instead we’ve had more than a decade of appeasement.

Liberal Canadian Muslims Protest Against Islamism

Canadian/Pakistani Tarek Fatah, a liberal Muslim, uploaded the following video where he leads a small group of fellow liberal and secular Muslims in a protest in front of the Metro Conventionn Centre in Toronto against Islamism, Islamist apologists, Sharia law and burqas.

They were protesting:

20,000 + Muslim youth were being [being] brainwashed by the 'Who is who' of the World Islamist Movement.
Sad thing is how few people were there. At least they're trying.

Did Parents Of Chicago Guy Headed To Join ISIS Influence Him?

Here's a picture of the parents of 19-year-old Mohammed Hamzah Khan, that Chicago guy who was arrested at O'Hare International Airport this past Saturday on his way to Syria to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

Any wonder why he might have been inspired to go to Syria to fight with ISIS? Mother wears a niqab, not just a veil, but a niqab. And according to anti-political Islam Canadian Muslim Tarek Fatah, the fact the father has a beard but no mustache is a "dead give away." Fatah tweeted:
"Anytime u see a Muslim with long beard & moustache shaved off @Swiftie01 chances r fella is radical Anti-West, prime candidate for jihad."

He lived with his quite obviously religiously conservative Muslim parents Zarine Khan and Shafi Ullah Khan in Bolingbrook, a suburb of Chicago. Shared a room with a younger brother. Purchased a $4,000 ticket to Istanbul, Turkey. Not sure where a 19-year-old would get $4,000 plus cash for a hotel room and a bus ticket to Syrian/Turkish border towns. And none of the family knew what he was planning?

He allegedly left the following letter for his parents:

"FIRST and FOREMOST, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO NOT TELL THE AUTHORITIES For if this were to happen it will jeopardize not only the safety of us but our family as well."
He also asked his parents and siblings to "join me in the Islamic State."

I think that would be a grand idea.

Mehdi Hasan: Muslim Apologist Regarding The Woolwich Butchers

So we have enlightened Muslims like Tarek Fatah who believes that Islam needs to evolve if the world is to survive the 21st century; and one of the only ways that will happen is if Islam renounces the doctrine of  jihad. On the other hand we have Muslim apologists like Mehdi Hasan- the political director of the Huffington Post UK- who refuses to accept that there are evil Muslims in the world who are killing in the name of Allah. This is exactly the type of Muslim Fatah condemns.

Hasan's response to the two Muslims who butchered a young soldier in Woolwich, England is the polar opposite of Fatah's.  Hasan, like most Muslims, is in denial. Quoting the Quran (Chapter 5 verse 32) "Whosoever killeth a human being it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind," he then launches into a lecture on how these two "supposedly" Muslim men "suspected of ambushing, murdering and mutilating an unarmed, off-duty soldier" while shouting "Allaho Akbar" were "brazenly violating the injunction of their own holy book."  As if they (and all their fellow extremists who wantonly kill) weren't actually Muslims at all. And "suspected" of murdering?  No allegations here, they were caught red-handed in their barbaric act. Unlike Fatah who says enough with the 'armed jihad', Hasan condones jihad, as per his religion, "in self defence and if sanctioned by a legitimate government."

Unlike most Muslims, Fatah believes these terrorist attacks do have a basis in Islam:

As a Muslim, I can say without fear, the latest terror attack has a basis in Islam and it's time for us Muslims to dig our heads out of the sand.

Hasan represents those who believe they don't.

Yet conventional wisdom still says the religion of Islam is behind violent extremism and radicalisation; that Muslims don't do enough to denounce terror; that imams and mosques incite hate and holy war. As is so often the case, the conventional wisdom is wrong. I have been a Muslim all my life and visited mosques across Europe, North America and the UK. Never, not once, have I come across an imam preaching violence against the West or justifying the murder of innocents.

Then he brings up Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik.

Many of my fellow Muslims want consistency from politicians and the press. When Anders Breivik, self-styled member of an 'international Christian military order', massacred 77 innocent Norwegians, most them children, in July 2011, did we indict Christianity? Sadly, we hold Islam and Muslims to a separate standard - despite the fact that, nowadays, (self-) radicalisation tends to be an online phenomenon; what the experts call the 'third wave' of al-Qaeda-inspired extremism has no need for either UK mosques or Pakistani training camps.
There is no consistency, so to speak, because it doesn't warrant it. Breivik was one case versus how many thousands of incidents, over the years, of Muslims killing others in the name of Allah, including fellow Muslims? No comparison whatsoever.

He then demonstrates classic denial about Islam being responsible for most of the violence in the world, today.

Listen to Olivier Roy, one of Europe's pre-eminent experts on extremism: "The process of violent radicalisation has little to do with religious practice." Read the classified briefing note prepared by the MI5's Behaviourial Science Unit in June 2008. "Far from being religious zealots, a large number of those involved in terrorism do not practise their faith regularly," reported the Guardian's Alan Travis, who obtained a copy of the document. "Very few have been brought up in strongly religious households...there is evidence that a well-established religious identity actually protects against violent radicalisation."
Uh, wrong.  And then:

Yet on TV news channels, on newspaper comment pages, on social networks, everyone is either a terrorism expert, an Islam expert, or both. Some cut and paste verses from the Koran out of context; others unthinkingly demand 'reform' of Islam. Few want to discuss the role of British foreign policy in helping to radicalise these young, disaffected individuals. Meanwhile, former CIA official Marc Sageman says that, "11 and a half years after 9/11, we still don't know" what turns young men towards terror.
I'll tell you this, though: it isn't my faith or the faith of 1.6billion other Muslims.
Sure, blame it on foreign policy, blame it on anything other than the fact that these animals make a choice, based on Islamic doctrine, to wage armed jihad against anyone they deem to be an infidel. They're not being inspired by the Bible, or the Bhagavad Gita. And it is a choice to self-radicalize or allow oneself to be influenced by some imam in some neighborhood mosque. Although he might not have visited any such mosque during his travels, they do exist.

Until people like Hasan become more like Fatah, we will continue to have a problem with Islam.

Tarek Fatah: Time To Do Away With Doctrine Of Jihad

We need more Muslims like Canadian writer and anti-jihadist Tarek Fatah. His latest commentary regarding the butchers of Woolwich is a must read. He, in essence, is calling for the modernization of Islam by renouncing the doctrine of  "jihad" in all its manifestations.

When buses and trains exploded on 7/7 in London, the objective of the suicide bombers was to sow fear and terror in the very soul of the British people.

In that the jihadis were successful.

One would have expected the British authorities to not just hunt down the terrorists, but also to fight the cancer of Islamism that lies at the ideological roots of jihadi terrorism. Instead, successive governments in London have tried to pussyfoot around the challenge, hoping the jihadi terrorists and their ideology would melt away with time as Downing Street funded so-called "moderate" Muslim groups and "former" extremists to do the government's bidding.

As the brutal hacking death of a British soldier by two fearless jihadis chanting "Allah O Akbar" has shown, this strategy has failed. Muslims who see the West as the enemy and seek its destruction have become even more emboldened by the lack of resolve, which they see as cowardice. In addition, jihadis in the U.K. are no longer restricted to the second generation Pakistani Britons; they now come from places as far apart as Chechnya and Nigeria.

While the run-of-the-mill jihadi terror attack relies on suicide bombers and remote-controlled improvised explosive devices, Wednesday's attack came straight from medieval times, with the two jihadis using knives and cleavers to hack away at the victim and then beheading him. If this was not enough, they played to the gallery, demanding they be filmed as they chatted with passers-by, proudly defending their actions and promising more attacks on non-Muslims to come.
He also blasts  mainstream Islamic voices for failing to condemn jihad, describing how some did not even bother to mention Islam in their condemnation.
While ordinary Britons and non-Muslims around the world are bewildered by these never-ending acts of terrorism, the response of the leaders of the Islamic community is the tired old cliche -- Islam is a religion of peace, and jihad is simply an "inner struggle."
The fact these terrorists are motivated by one powerful belief -- the doctrine of armed jihad against the "kuffar" (non-Muslims) -- is disingenuously denied by Islamic clerics and leaders.

Muslim Brotherhood Infiltrates Obama Administration- Claims Egyptian Magazine

Canadian liberal democrat and moderate Muslim has spoken in the past about the evils of Islamism and the Muslim Brotherhood, and has warned us about the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Obama administration. He even wrote a piece on Huffington Post in July of last year stating that Michelle Bachmann was right to question the MB, and goes into detail about the parents of Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton's deputy chief of staff.

But Fatah isn't the only one claiming infiltration. Now an Egyptian magazine (Rosa-Magazine.com)  alleges that there are six Muslim Brotherhood operatives influencing the White House. The article, published on December 22, 2012, was translated by The Investigative Project On Terrorism, and starts off:

"Not Huma Abidin alone." This very brief statement expresses what is going on inside the minds of many American politicians who are completely convinced of the Muslim Brotherhood's penetration of the Obama administration, with many articles, briefings and research messages talking about personalities which some security agencies in the United States claim have a direct relationship with the Brotherhood and its international organization. Perhaps the most famous story the American media dealt with months ago was 'Huma Abidin' Clinton's special adviser and her close friend, but what many people do not know is that there are 6 other personalities tied to the Brotherhood on the American political street .. We survey in this investigation information which has not been published before about these six personalities in the entire Islamic world, but there remains a question we cannot answer yet, but we are on the way to it. Are these six personalities tantamount to a turning point for the Obama administration from a position hostile to Islamic groups and organizations in the world to the largest and most important supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood in the world as well?

The six mentioned in the article are:

Arif Alikhan-  Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for the development of policies in the Department concerning domestic security

Mohammed Elibiary-  member of the Advisory Committee in the Department of Homeland Security.

Rashad Hussain- United States special envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Salam Marayati- Executive Director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council MPAC. He works with the National Security Agency.

Imam Mohamed Magid-  President of  Islamic Society of North America. He works with Homeland Security.

Eboo Patel- He is a member of the Religious Advisory Committee' of the Council on Foreign Relations. He works as a consultant in the Department of Homeland Security and is a member of Barack Obama's Advisory Board.

Rosa-Magazine details how the six are affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Of course, this information is taken from an unsourced, translated article, so take from it what you will.

How Obama Got Elected For Four More- 2012

While half the country is mourning the other half is gloating. Barack Obama did not win by a landslide, as many would like to believe, he won by a very small percentage (and much less than last time around), but he won nonetheless and many of us are still reeling.  A few days after the 2008 election, I wrote about how Obama won the presidency, and much of that holds true this time.

So what else went wrong?

I was quite hopeful we could bring this one home, at least by a thin margin, but obviously I was wrong. For various reasons.

I underestimated the American people, at least those who were still on the fence.  The ones that could have handed the White House to Mitt Romney, but chose to either not vote, or vote third party instead. The ones that decided their principles meant far more to them than the good of the country. The same ones who handed it over to Obama in 2008. That is unforgivable. These were people who should have known better, but chose to punish the Republican Party (again) and in so doing will have punished us all.

I also underestimated the lengths to which Obama and the Democratic Party would go to seal the deal, or rather steal the deal. From intimidation to voter fraud to thousands of military absentee ballots that were possibly lost in an alleged plane crash. Obama also ran a nasty campaign that leveled Romney in many ways, and Romney didn't really fight back. Bombarded with negative ads, which included many lies, people were either too lazy or ignorant to bother to check on their veracity. And none of Obama's worshippers bothered to ever research his dubious background. I will reiterate, I'm not a birther, I don't believe he's a Muslim, but it's quite obvious where his sympathies lie.  And he's as left as they get. Many I know have no problem with Socialism, so that wouldn't have been an issue with them.

In spite of the fact that Obama accomplished pretty much nothing during the last four years- other than ordering the Navy Seals to kill Osama Bin Laden- and we are, in fact, worse off than we were when he first started, people decided to re-elect a known, albeit ineffectual commodity. The problem is half the U.S. population has no clue how dangerous he is. Tarek Fatah, a moderate Canadian Muslim believes that 90% of  American Muslims voted for Obama because of his anti-Israel stance and pro Muslim Brotherhood sympathies, and because of that watch out for more Benghazis and more lies and cover-ups.

And how do you compete with the tooth fairy and Santa Claus? People want their free Obamaphones, and their free birth control. When you can get free stuff, why would you want to vote for someone who wants to help you get off your butt, off welfare and into a job? The fools don't realize someone's paying for that stuff, and that money is going to eventually dry up when businesses shut down or move off shore. They just have to look across the ocean to see how well the nanny states in Europe are faring.  We might not have riots after elections in this country (though I truly believe there might have been had Romney won) but I can guarantee that if we eventually have to go the austerity route, like Greece, it will definitely turn violent. With eight years of feeling entitled, and having the rug pulled from under them, it will not be pretty.

Having a shamefully biased media, pumping for Obama didn't help matters either.

The GOP needs to find a way to court the Latino and Black voters, though I'm not quite sure how. Ironically, the Republican party's stance on immigration is a big stumbling block for the Hispanic-American population, and yet, Obama has deported far more than George W. Bush ever did. And people like Todd Akin and Richard Mourdoch need to keep their mouths shut.

I will pray, like I did in 2008, that he makes good on his promises for bi-partisanship and getting this country back on track, but I doubt things will change. And I pray he doesn't take this country down a road that will take years to recover from, though I have a feeling that's his aim. I hope I'm wrong.

This is the time the party needs to do some heavy-duty soul searching, and see what needs to be done to bring more Latinos, Blacks and women into the fold.

Tarek Fatah- Get Malala Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize

Tarek Fatah, Pakistani/Canadian writer and secular, anti-Islamist Muslim voice of reason, has created a petition to get Malala Yousafzai (sometimes spelled Yusufzai) nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was the 15-year-old Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban because of her rights activism.

Fatah lays out why he believes she deserves to be nominated, on the petition site change.org:

Malala's bravery has sparked a global movement and we believe she deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for her courageous work.

The first step in this process is to get Malala nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Only certain people, like a Member of Parliament, are allowed put forward nominations. To make a major statement and to show that Canadians believe in Malala's work, we need all Canadian federal party leaders to unanimously nominate Malala for the Nobel Peace Prize for her incredible work and bravery.

On Monday Liberal Leader Bob Rae backed the petition and on Tuesday Immigration Minister Jason Kenney voiced his support. We just need to get three more party leaders to endorse the campaign.

A Nobel Peace Prize for Malala will send a clear message that the world is watching and will support those who stand up for gender equality and universal human rights that includes the right of education for girls.

To sign the petition click here.  They need more signatures.

Thankfully, Malala is doing much better in a hospital in England.
