MSNBC'S Hart-Perry Apologizes For Poking Fun At Mitt Romney's Black Grandchild

So the Romney's have an adopted black grandchild, Kieran, and Mitt and Ann had a lovely portrait photographed surrounded by all their grandkids.

In very bad taste, MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry and her co-panelists chose to make Kieran the punch-line of a segment on the show. Video here.

Melissa starts off with:

"Everybody loves a baby picture, and this was one that really a lot of people had emotions about this baby picture this year." "This is the Romney family. "And, of course, there on Gov. Romney's knee is his adopted grandson, who is an African-American, adopted African-American child, Kieran Romney."
You can then hear Pia Glenn in the background singing:

"One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just isn't the same."
The others start laughing and then Glenn then pipes in:

"And that little baby, front and center, would be the one"
The pot-shots continue, and comedian Dean Obeidallah comes in with his oh-so-funny:

"I think this picture is great. It really sums up the diversity of the Republican party, the RNC. At the convention, they find the one black person."

How's that for racism. And using a baby boy as political fodder is shameful. Even CNN was outraged, and Harris-Perry has since apologized. Big deal.

Kieran was adopted by Mitt's son Ben and daughter-in-law Andelynne.

Imagine had the same thing happened on a FOX show.

Harris-Perry was the stupid woman who claimed that the Boston Bomber's Muslim faith was irrelevant. Right.

Trump's Obama You're Fired Parody RNC Video Released

Breitbart has posted the full-length, never-aired Donald Trump  'Obama You're fired' parody video he produced for the Mitt Romney campaign that was to air on the first night of the Republican National Convention last August in Tampa. That never happened due to reasons which differ depending on the source. According to Stuart Stevens, Romney's political adviser, since the convention had to be shortened due to weather delays they decided to cut the video.  Trump and his cohorts beg to differ.  They claim that Romney and his aides felt it was too controversial.

"The reason they didn't put it on is because they thought it was too controversial. Controversy. It might not be politically correct," Trump said.

Stevens added that it wasn't used as a campaign ad because it was too long. The usual format for a TV commercial is either 30 or 60 seconds.

The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

The video cost $100,000 to produce.

Santa Is A Democrat- According to PPP National Poll

Hope Santa brought you some goodies. And speaking of Santa, here's some Christmas silliness.

Public Policy Polling, out of Raleigh, NC,  wasted its time asking American voters their opinions on various holiday themed questions as they related to politics.

It seems 44% of the American people think Santa Claus is a Democrat. Is that surprising? No, since about 47% of U.S. citizens, per Mitt Romney, are into the free stuff. It would make sense, then, that since Santa is the purveyor of free gifts and so are the Democrats they would think of Saint Nick as a Democrat. Only 28% think of him as a Republican, and 28% haven't a clue, or just don't care.

People believe both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney will receive gifts from Santa this Christmas rather than that lump of coal, but it seems Romney will rake in more booty than Obama.

ROMNEY:
63% Gifts
37% Lump of coal

OBAMA:
51% Gifts
49% Lump of coal

Interesting to note that Obama's gifts to coal margin is approximately the same margin of votes with which he won the election.

47% believe there is a "war on Christmas", 40% don't agree, while 13% haven't a clue, or also just don't care.

54% are worried that the "fiscal cliff" will "force Santa to cut back on the benefits he provides", while 35% are not worried and 11% are not sure. The American people can rest assured, however, that the American government will continue to dole out its freebies, fiscal cliff or not.

And to determine the moral compass of the country we have the following bizarre questions:

If Grandma got run over by a reindeer, would
you press charges against Santa, or not?

24% would press charges, 61% would not, 15% were not sure.

If you saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus, would
you tell Daddy?

43% would tell Daddy, 40% would not, and 17% were not sure.

As for whether people believe in Santa Claus or not? 52% do, 45% don't, and 3% aren't sure.

And Santa came out tops, by a huge margin, over the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Leprechauns and Cupid in terms of "Which character do you think could most plausibly exist"

Of the voters polled, 36% were Democrats, 36% Republican and 28% Independent. That is if the respondents were truthful about their political affiliation.

Kazakh "Tumar" Amulet Real Reason For Obama Victory

Here we've been racking our brains trying to figure out how the heck Barack Obama won the election after polls seemed so promising for a Mitt Romney win, when it all boiled down to Kazakhstan's president and a "tumar".   What's a "tumar" you might ask? Well, it's an amulet native to  that country which contains some Koranic prayers placed in a small leather pouch and typically gifted to newborn babies. In this case, President Nursultan Nazarbaev gave Obama a framed version "for good luck"  while they both were attending the nuclear-security summit in Seoul, Korea in March.  Yes, that same summit where Obama was caught on tape telling Medvedev to give him space until after he's re-elected.

Now everyone thinks that the tumar clinched Obama's victory, well sort of.

In a society where almost every success of the state is ascribed to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev, it's perhaps no surprise that someone thought to give him credit for playing a role in the reelection of U.S. President Barack Obama.

"Aikyn," one of Kazakhstan’s main newspapers, published an article on November 8 claiming that Obama had won a second term in office thanks to a "tumar," an amulet he was given by Nazarbaev earlier this year.

[snip]

"Aikyn’s" straightforward news report is consistent in reiterating the connection between the powers of the amulet and Obama’s reelection. After a few sentences about the number of electoral votes Obama received, the tone of the article takes a turn into a whole other realm.

In other words, all forecasters turned out to be right. At this point we have to remember that in March this year, President Nazarbaev met with Barack Obama...Nazarbaev gave Obama a Kazakh tumar as a gift so that he could win in a landslide victory in the presidential elections. The Kazakh leader's special gift brought victory to Obama.

Perhaps the newspaper was inspired by comments that began emerging online soon after Obama’s victory was announced, when users began poking fun at Nazarbaev’s success in reelecting Obama.

One Facebook user in Kazakhstan posted the following post on the social-media site: “They say Mitt Romney sees Nazarbaev’s tumar as the main reason for Obama’s victory.”

The comments started rolling in soon after.

“Oops! Now it turns out that Obama was reelected thanks to our Leader of the Nation’s long-sighted policy,” one wrote.

“After Obama’s victory some leaders of the democratic regimes have made quite a long queue in order to get a tumar from Nazarbaev,” another added

So there you have it-  the magical Koranic powers of the tumar amulet  helped Obama win another four.

At least the Kazakh people have a sense of humor.

Ron Paul on How Government Dependency Lost Romney The Election

As most of you who read this blog know, I am not a fan of Ron Paul, but he is absolutely right in his assessment of the 'fiscal cliff', and why a little over 50% of the American people wanted Barack Obama to win. It all boils down to government dependency, and he believes that dependency spells doom for this country.

"We're so far gone. We're over the cliff," the Texas Republican told Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop" program. "We cannot get enough people in Congress in the next 5-10 years who will do wise things."

[snip]

Mr. Paul, who is retiring after 12 terms in the House, said voters on Tuesday rejected Mitt Romney because he had opposed the government bailout of General Motors and Chrysler.

"The people in the Midwest voted against him: 'Oh, we have to be taken care of!' So that vote was sort of like what we are laughing at in Greece," Mr. Paul said.

"People do not want anything cut," he said. "They want all the bailouts to come. They want the Fed to keep printing the money. And they don't believe that we've gone off the cliff or are close to going off the cliff. They think we can patch it over, that we can somehow come up with some magic solution. But you can't have a budgetary solution if you don't change what the role of government should be. As long as you think we have to police the world and run this welfare state, all we are going to argue about is who will get the loot."

I still don't agree with his isolationist position- there are times when we need to help our allies, but we certainly don't need to be sending financial aid to our enemies.  And I still partially fault Paul's supporters for the Romney loss, I'm sure most refused to vote, but I will give him credit for this.

Post Election Fun- Change Obama or Romney Into Anything

And for a little post-election levity, some social media website Socialplex- that I've never heard of- created a virtual paper doll cutout site where you can dress up  Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, along with Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, go figure.

Yes, you can change facial features and outfits, and they even have a 'I hate Big Bird" t-shirt, for you liberals out there.

Have some fun changing Obama or Romney into a vampire, Justin Bieber, make them bald, or pretty much anything you want them to be at Change4.

How Obama Got Elected For Four More- 2012

While half the country is mourning the other half is gloating. Barack Obama did not win by a landslide, as many would like to believe, he won by a very small percentage (and much less than last time around), but he won nonetheless and many of us are still reeling.  A few days after the 2008 election, I wrote about how Obama won the presidency, and much of that holds true this time.

So what else went wrong?

I was quite hopeful we could bring this one home, at least by a thin margin, but obviously I was wrong. For various reasons.

I underestimated the American people, at least those who were still on the fence.  The ones that could have handed the White House to Mitt Romney, but chose to either not vote, or vote third party instead. The ones that decided their principles meant far more to them than the good of the country. The same ones who handed it over to Obama in 2008. That is unforgivable. These were people who should have known better, but chose to punish the Republican Party (again) and in so doing will have punished us all.

I also underestimated the lengths to which Obama and the Democratic Party would go to seal the deal, or rather steal the deal. From intimidation to voter fraud to thousands of military absentee ballots that were possibly lost in an alleged plane crash. Obama also ran a nasty campaign that leveled Romney in many ways, and Romney didn't really fight back. Bombarded with negative ads, which included many lies, people were either too lazy or ignorant to bother to check on their veracity. And none of Obama's worshippers bothered to ever research his dubious background. I will reiterate, I'm not a birther, I don't believe he's a Muslim, but it's quite obvious where his sympathies lie.  And he's as left as they get. Many I know have no problem with Socialism, so that wouldn't have been an issue with them.

In spite of the fact that Obama accomplished pretty much nothing during the last four years- other than ordering the Navy Seals to kill Osama Bin Laden- and we are, in fact, worse off than we were when he first started, people decided to re-elect a known, albeit ineffectual commodity. The problem is half the U.S. population has no clue how dangerous he is. Tarek Fatah, a moderate Canadian Muslim believes that 90% of  American Muslims voted for Obama because of his anti-Israel stance and pro Muslim Brotherhood sympathies, and because of that watch out for more Benghazis and more lies and cover-ups.

And how do you compete with the tooth fairy and Santa Claus? People want their free Obamaphones, and their free birth control. When you can get free stuff, why would you want to vote for someone who wants to help you get off your butt, off welfare and into a job? The fools don't realize someone's paying for that stuff, and that money is going to eventually dry up when businesses shut down or move off shore. They just have to look across the ocean to see how well the nanny states in Europe are faring.  We might not have riots after elections in this country (though I truly believe there might have been had Romney won) but I can guarantee that if we eventually have to go the austerity route, like Greece, it will definitely turn violent. With eight years of feeling entitled, and having the rug pulled from under them, it will not be pretty.

Having a shamefully biased media, pumping for Obama didn't help matters either.

The GOP needs to find a way to court the Latino and Black voters, though I'm not quite sure how. Ironically, the Republican party's stance on immigration is a big stumbling block for the Hispanic-American population, and yet, Obama has deported far more than George W. Bush ever did. And people like Todd Akin and Richard Mourdoch need to keep their mouths shut.

I will pray, like I did in 2008, that he makes good on his promises for bi-partisanship and getting this country back on track, but I doubt things will change. And I pray he doesn't take this country down a road that will take years to recover from, though I have a feeling that's his aim. I hope I'm wrong.

This is the time the party needs to do some heavy-duty soul searching, and see what needs to be done to bring more Latinos, Blacks and women into the fold.

Mitt Romney's Concession Speech

Mitt Romney's concession speech.
A class act!
I'm still mourning.

Compare that to Obama's smug, arrogant, heartless acceptance speech. I stayed up to watch, but could only stay tuned for a bit of it. I couldn't bear to watch the whole thing.

Notice the difference between the way Romney talks about the love he has for his wife and family, and the way Obama broaches the subject.  For Obama it's just another talking point.

I will write more later about this turn of events.

Voter Fraud, Intimidation and Irregularities On Election Day 2012

I voted today. I have never been more excited or nervous in my life- it feels a little like the way I feel about opening nights. Though it's a waiting game, for now, I have a feeling this isn't going to end tonight.  I hope I'm wrong.

If Social Media is any indication, the Democrats are not going to go quietly into the night, accepting a Mitt Romney win if he does indeed snag the White House. There are already threats of rioting if  Barack Obama loses. And, everyone is bitching about Republican voter fraud and intimidation, in spite of the plethora of cases of fraud and intimidation by the Democrats.  Democrats of course, have no problem with cheating, as long as it's in their favor.  Even former DNC Chair Howard Dean claims that the only way Mitt Romney can win (Ohio) is through voter fraud.

As for Democratic voter fraud and illegalities, it's been rampant today.

In a Tallahassee, FL voter precinct, an Obama poster was in full view.

Obama mural in Philadelphia polling location.

Obama's portrait prominently displayed at a Washington DC polling station.

An election judge in Chicago wearing an Obama cap.

Members of the New Black Panther Party show up at polling locations in Ohio, Philadelphia,  and according to a friend in Georgia, as well.

A GOP Poll Watcher was threatened with a gun and a female was punched in the face in Detroit by an Obama supporter.

First time voters were being bussed in by Federal Job Corps vans in Wisconsin. I'm sure you know who they were being coached to vote for.

Washington Post has a roundup of all the voter irregularities on both side of the fence.

If Obama wins. I am sure Romney will give a lovely concession speech and it will be over.  I am praying that's not the case.

#WatchTheVote- Tips for election day

If you didn't have a chance to early vote, tomorrow's the day!  I tried on Friday, but after an hour in a huge line that moved maybe five feet, I had to leave. I will do my duty on Tuesday.

Revealing Politics has some tips on what to do if you see anything untoward going on. There has been a lot of voter fraud and intimidation going on, so make sure you are vigilant.

They recommend taking photos, although not inside the polling location, upload those to YouTube or email them to  tips@revealingpolitics.com and see truethevote.org.

Use the hashtag #WatchTheVote

If you want to get through quickly, make sure you know who and what you want to vote for, and bring a cheat sheet, water, snacks and something to occupy you while waiting.  I have a feeling that lines will be smaller on Tuesday, since there will be more polling places available.

Good luck Mitt!

Bill Maher To Romney Voters: "Black people know who you are and they will come after you"

Wow. Bill Maher (who only has it right regarding the problem with Islamic extremism) tells Romney supporters:

"If you're thinking about voting for Mitt Romney, I would like to make this one plea: black people know who you are and they will come after you"

I find that terribly racist, am I the only one?  Liberals obviously have no problem with that statement.

I can't vouch for the accuracy, but a FB friend shared the list which was a status update for the Armed Forces Tea Party page.

A Ron Paul Vote, Johnson Vote, Or No Vote Equals a Vote For Obama

In Bill Whittle's latest video he appeals to those who are determined to vote Ron Paul, Gary Johnson or 3rd Party because they detest Mitt Romney as much as they do Barack Obama.

I'm not going to be so diplomatic. I blame all of you who voted for Barr or didn't vote at all, for the past four years of hell. Last time around I explained quite simply that it was all about the math, I wasn't thrilled with John McCain (I was a Giuliani gal) but I knew he would be a damn sight better than Obama. The same goes for Mitt Romney. I was even less thrilled with our picks this year, but Romney will be a far better choice than Obama. In July 2008, I wrote a post detailing why a no vote equalled a vote for Obama, and ended with:

And, for those of you who think that voting for Bob Barr, or not voting at all is the best course of action, remember those votes, or lack thereof, are votes for Obama. And if he happens to win, and this great country is led to ruin, you will have only yourselves to blame, along with all those other lemmings duped by his messianic message of change. No complaints allowed, but at least I won't have that burden on my conscience, and I will complain loud and hard.

I understand principle, and I know that Romney is not conservative enough for you, but he's more conservative than Obama, and a lot more capable of getting this country back on track. Four more years of Obama will effectively put the final nail in the coffin of this great country of ours, and YOU will have helped hammer it in.

I'm voting Romney/Ryan tomorrow and my conscience will be clear.

4-Year-Old Tearfully Tells Mom "I'm tired of Bronco "Bamma and Mitt Romney"

With not much time left before this contentious election is over, and with the ramped up negative campaign ads and political rhetoric, I am absolutely over it.

This adorable Colorado 4-year-old, Abigael Evans, I think captures it all. Apparently, her mom, Elizabeth, had taken her to the store with NPR playing on the car radio when she started crying.
When mom asked her why, she tearfully replied:

"Just because I'm tired of Bronco 'Bamma and Mitt Romney."
Out of the mouth of babes.

I think we all are, Abigael!!

NY Post's Michael Goodwin Is Voting For Romney

Michael Goodwin, political columnist for the New York Post, voted for Barack Obama in 2008. He fell for the hype, but that's about to change.  He tells us why he is voting for Romney this time around. Let's hope there are more of him, than the polls and the media would like us to believe.

Each time I mention that I voted for Barack Obama in 2008, I get a blast from some who didn’t. “How could you be so dumb?” is a typical response to my confession.

It is certainly a confession — of error. Obama fooled me once, but not twice. I’m voting for Mitt Romney Nov. 6th.

To understand why I’m switching, it helps to understand why I backed Obama four years ago. I am a Democrat, but vote as an independent. I see people, not parties, so Obama’s label played no role.

My choice involved a simple calculation. Would John McCain or Obama be more likely to forge a consensus on big issues? America was dangerously polarized, and unable to act in ways that even 60 percent of the public could support. History shows that paralysis leads to disaster.
[snip]

Obama’s soaring rhetoric enticed me at first, and I agreed that a restoration of the Clinton presidency would be a bad idea. Still, I got a jolt of Messiah Alert when he said his rise marked the moment “when the planet began to heal.”

Where he totally fooled me was his claim to be a pragmatist, not an ideologue. He spoke of uniting the country and I believed he was capable and sincere. That he won 70 million votes and more than two-thirds of the Electoral College spoke to his appeal.

He failed as president because he is incompetent, dishonest and not interested in the actual work of governing. His statist policies helped consign millions of Americans to a lower standard of living and his odious class warfare further divided the nation. He had no intention of uniting the country — it was his Big Lie.

I don’t hate him. But I sure as hell don’t trust him.

As for the desperate charge that opposition to Obama makes me a racist, let me note that he was black when I voted for him.
And here are the reasons why he feels that Romney is more than an acceptable choice over Obama.

Conservatism Is Calling- Video

Conservative California music video director Chris Corrado, produced this "motion graphics video"  "to get people excited about the election."

13-Year-Old Grades Obama and Romney - Video

Jenny Cantrell is one very poised, smart 13-year-old girl. The 8th grader, who I'm sure has been influenced by her businessman dad, grades Barack Obama and Mitt Romney on their various successes and/or failures, because her future- along with all her classmates- depends on who we vote for on November 6th.  You might be surprised who gets the A.

She was confused about the claims of the Democrats and the claims of the Republicans. So, she decided to look at the facts and do a report card for President Barack Obama and one for Governor Mitt Romney. She compared them and now presents her findings in this video.

Man Gets Romney Logo Tattoo On Face For $15,000 eBay Bid

Would you get a political logo tattooed on your face? Eric Hartsburg of Indiana did. He actually auctioned the side of his mug on eBay, and some anonymous Republican's $15,000  won the bid. So now he has Mitt Romney's logo plastered on the side of his face, a walking billboard for the presidential candidate for the rest of his life, unless he eventually gets it removed. He doesn't seem to mind, though, since the pierced and tattooed Hartsburg happens to be a Republican.

Hartsburg told ABC that he originally did the whole thing as a gag, but that he thinks the tat serves a “purpose” — a purpose other than looking like an idiot.

“I am a registered Republican and a Romney supporter,” Hartsburg said. “I didn’t mind getting this tattoo because it is something that I could live with and it’s something that I believe in.”

“In the beginning it was done for gags and publicity,” he said, “but now I see it as a way to encourage young people to vote. We have so many rights that we don’t utilize, and young people need to exercise that right.”

Hartsburg is now privately auctioning off his forehead. He says he will get just about anything that isn’t racist, offensive or pro-Obama.

“No, no, I would definitely not get an Obama tattoo,” he said. The man has limits, after all.

Glad to see he has at least some self-respect.
