If you didn't have a chance to early vote, tomorrow's the day! I tried on Friday, but after an hour in a huge line that moved maybe five feet, I had to leave. I will do my duty on Tuesday.
Revealing Politics has some tips on what to do if you see anything untoward going on. There has been a lot of voter fraud and intimidation going on, so make sure you are vigilant.
They recommend taking photos, although not inside the polling location, upload those to YouTube or email them to tips@revealingpolitics.com and see truethevote.org.
Use the hashtag #WatchTheVote
If you want to get through quickly, make sure you know who and what you want to vote for, and bring a cheat sheet, water, snacks and something to occupy you while waiting. I have a feeling that lines will be smaller on Tuesday, since there will be more polling places available.
Good luck Mitt!

Election 2012 Cabbage Patch Dolls To Be Auctioned On EBay
So, they have Chia Barack Obama and Mitt Romney heads for sale on-line and at K-Mart, but if you want your own plush and chubby Cabbage Patch doll version of Obama, Biden, Romney, Ryan or even Michelle Obama you'll have to head on over to EBay and bid on it starting October 30 through November 6th, the day of the election.
Jakks Pacific Inc, (owners of Cabbage Patch Kids) is auctioning off the dolls for charity, and have done this since 2004. The first lady is a new thing this year.
The Michelle Obama version of a Cabbage Patch Kid is as fashionable as the first lady, sporting a pink dress, thick black belt, cheetah-patterned purple blazer and black peep-toe pumps.
Unlike the presidential Halloween masks and the Chia heads that people are claiming will determine who wins the election, if you buy into all that, it's not the case with the Cabbage Patch ones. The winning bid for the Sarah Palin one, in 2008, was four times higher than Joe Biden's. Palin's was a whopping $19,000, while Biden's cost the bidder $3,550. And unfortunately, we all know who won that year. The $37,000 that the dolls fetched in 2008 was donated to the Marine's Toys for Tots. The Red Cross was the beneficiary of the money in 2004. John Kerry's doll fetched $1,200 while George W Bush's was purchased for around$1,000. And Bush won that year.
Rock the Vote will get the proceeds this year. Rock the Vote is supposed to be non-partisan, though I've always associated it with liberals and the Democratic Party. Wonder how much these will go for?

What If The 2012 U.S. Presidential Election Is a Tie- Video
I have yet to understand the U.S. election process. The electoral college? What's that all about? Why shouldn't every person's vote count? Well, it doesn't, and CGP Grey (aka Colin Gregory Palmer Grey) posts a video on his YouTube channel (Complex Things Explained) detailing what would happen if there just so happened to be an electoral vote tie, which is entirely possible with the upcoming election.
It's all very complicated, and rather silly that this is how we conduct our presidential elections in the 21st century.
There's not too much personal information on Grey out there, but he has some interesting videos, including this one. His YouTube channel says he is London-based, Wikipedia says he's a native New Yorker. He obviously wants to remain incognito.

Union Members Fined For Not Supporting Dem Elizabeth Warren
Union members are getting fined for not showing up at Democratic debates for Senate wannabee Elizabeth Warren.
The video shows a Springfield, Massachusetts union member admitting to the videographer they can get fined up to $250.00 for not showing up. Wow.
This poor guy's gonna be in big trouble.

The cameraman asks the union member if he was at an earlier debate between Warren and her Republican opponent, Senator Scott Brown.Totally outrageous.
"Uh-huh," the union member says, nodding.
"Did you guys get fined if you weren't there?" the cameraman asks.
"Yeah," the union member replies.
"How much did you get fined?" the cameraman asks.
"A hundred and fifty," the man says, although he later adds, "It's two-fifty if you don't go."
This poor guy's gonna be in big trouble.

Rep Todd Akin Apologizes For His Offensive No Pregnancy From "Legitimate Rape"
It's people like Missouri Republican Congressman Todd Akin who send moderates and independents flying to the other side, and convince liberals to remain there.
Akin has since apologized (if you can call it that) for his supremely idiotic, beyond ignorant, truly offensive statement about raped women and their ability to magically stave off pregnancy if it is a "legitimate" rape:
What? Are those doctors living in the same cave Akin is living in? And where did they get their medical degrees- from getyourmedicaldegree.com? If the female body was able to "shut down the whole thing", there would be no need for contraception, would there? Tragically, many women get pregnant from rape- some choose to abort others choose to keep their babies- but his remark implies that those who do get pregnant were not in actuality raped. Unbelievable.
The following apology was posted on Akin's website:
If he believes that this election is about "a wide-range of very important issues, starting with the economy", then he needs to keep his mouth shut on "emotionally charged" issues like abortion and rape. He is simply adding fuel to the anti-conservative/Republican fire. I'm not sure why politicians don't think before they speak. People like Akin are handing over the votes to the Democratic party.

"It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, that's really rare. If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."

The following apology was posted on Akin's website:
"As a member of Congress, I believe that working to protect the most vulnerable in our society is one of my most important responsibilities, and that includes protecting both the unborn and victims of sexual assault. In reviewing my off-the-cuff remarks, it's clear that I misspoke in this interview and it does not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands of women who are raped and abused every year. Those who perpetrate these crimes are the lowest of the low in our society and their victims will have no stronger advocate in the Senate to help ensure they have the justice they deserve.
"I recognize that abortion, and particularly in the case of rape, is a very emotionally charged issue. But I believe deeply in the protection of all life and I do not believe that harming another innocent victim is the right course of action. I also recognize that there are those who, like my opponent, support abortion and I understand I may not have their support in this election.
"But I also believe that this election is about a wide-range of very important issues, starting with the economy and the type of country we will be leaving our children and grandchildren. We've had 42 straight months of unacceptably high unemployment, trillion dollar deficits, and Democratic leaders in Washington who are focused on growing government, instead of jobs. That is my primary focus in this campaign and while there are those who want to distract from that, knowing they cannot defend the Democrats' failed economic record of the last four years, that will continue to be my focus in the months ahead."

Political Foul- Dirty Politics In The 2012 Elections
Dirty politics. Happens all the time, especially when campaigns and their PACs take to the airwaves. It's gotten particularly ugly this year, and both sides are guilty of engaging in low down attack ads. But even ABC is willing to admit the worst ad to date is the one by Priorities USA Action that claims Mitt Romney killed steel worker Joe Soptic's wife. But no mention, however, of the tacky ad levied against Allen West in Florida.
However, the Democrats seem to be delving a little deeper into the dirt than the Republicans, at least if the following video is any indication.

"Classless" Attack Ad Shows Allen West Beating Women and Seniors
Congressman Allen West's Democratic opponent Patrick Murphy set up American Sunrise PAC with his rich daddy's money, and produced the uber-tacky ad below. Papa Tom Murphy, Jr (owner of Coastal Construction) donated $250,000 to the PAC.
Note, Patrick didn't even have the guts to enable comments or ratings. Afraid of the response, Patrick?
West had this to say about the "sad state of politics":
This year's election has turned very ugly.

West had this to say about the "sad state of politics":
"The ad being run against me by my opponent's family depicting violence against women and senior citizens is reprehensible," West said. "It plays on stereotypes and fear to divide Americans, and it cheapens the very real and tragic occurrences of violence against women and seniors. The American people are suffering from crushing debt, horrific tax and regulatory policies, and epic unemployment. This classless ad shows a lack of regard for the issues plaguing our nation."
This year's election has turned very ugly.

Oliver Stone, Chuck Norris and Other Celebrity Hollywood Nuts Who Support Ron Paul
Actor Vince Vaughn isn't the only Hollywood nut to support Ron Paul for president. Other celebrities have voiced their support for the Republican wannabee-nominee, even though he's actually a Libertarian. I don't know how I missed this, but in January the latest to claim he will vote for Paul if he gets the nomination is, of all people, the liberal iconic film director/producer Oliver Stone. I'm not sure if I'm shocked about this latest bit of news or not, after all, his son Sean just became a Shiite Muslim.
But they're not the only ones who heart Ron Paul. Although some of the celebs on this Facebook page list might just be wishful thinking on the part of the admins, some are rather surprising. Some not so much.
Other Paul endorsers:
American Idol singer Kelly Clarkson
Singer Michelle Branch (never heard of her)
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry
Chuck Norris
Clint Eastwood,
However, Nicole Scherzinger (and several groups I've never heard of) did not endorse him. They had their twitter accounts hacked by Ron Paul-ites. Way to go, Paul supporters.
But, Paul will never get the nomination, so all those Paul supporters who happen to be Democratic will probably vote for Obama.
In an interview with Rock Cellar magazine, Stone was asked if an economic collapse would lead to the fall of the American “empire.”Of course, when it comes down to it, would he really vote for Paul? I kind of doubt it. Talk is cheap. And Stone has always been a diehard, lefty liberal Democrat, and a strong Obama supporter. Not quite out there as Michael Moore, but pretty darn close. His list of controversial films is a testament to how liberal he is: to name a few- Comandante (documentary about his meeting with Cuba's Fidel Castro), Salvador, Born On The Fourth Of July, Nixon, the documentary South of The Border which was criticized by many (including actress Maria Conchita Alonso) for portraying both Hugo Chavez and Castro in a positive light.
“I think it’s a given,” Stone said. “There’s no way that we can continue this spending spree. In fact, I think in many ways the most interesting candidate — I’d even vote for him if he was running against Obama — is Ron Paul. Because he’s the only one of anybody who’s saying anything intelligent about the future of the world.”

Clint Eastwood Says He's Not Politically Affiliated With Mr Obama
The specially produced commercials are one of the greatest attractions of the Superbowl. People often look forwards to them (and the half-time show) as much as they do the actual game. For some, it's the only reason to watch. The ads get graded and talked about, and one that hit the ground running, in terms of talk, was the Clint Eastwood/Chrysler "It's Half Time In America" ad. The lefty blogosphere and Obama's people were elated, believing it to be an endorsement of Obama and his auto bailout, and perhaps that was Chrysler's intention, but Eastwood's? Nah.
In an exclusive interview with Ron Mitchell, a producer for Fox's O'Reilly Factor, Eastwood said this:
The right feel betrayed by someone they thought was conservative. However, although a registered Republican, Clint Eastwood is more of a moderate, libertarian-leaning Republican. But, politics aside, what most people fail to remember is that actors are paid to endorse products that they don't necessarily like. They are cast in movies or plays with different agendas than their own. I have played 'liberal' parts, but that does not make me a liberal. I remember seeing a local actress in a political ad for a conservative politician, and she's a flaming liberal. That didn't stop her from claiming her paycheck.
Yes, Clint donated his money to charity, but he was paid. And I'm sure if it was an outright endorsement of Obama, he would have refused. But Eastwood is a patriot, and obviously liked the can-do, we will prevail "spirit" of the ad. And there's nothing wrong with that.
In an exclusive interview with Ron Mitchell, a producer for Fox's O'Reilly Factor, Eastwood said this:
"I just want to say that the spin stops with you guys, and there is no spin in that ad. On this I am certain.
l am certainly not politically affiliated with Mr. Obama. It was meant to be a message about just about job growth and the spirit of America. I think all politicians will agree with it. I thought the spirit was OK.
I am not supporting any politician at this time. Chrysler to their credit didn’t even have cars in the ad. Anything they gave me for it went for charity.
If any Obama or any other politician wants to run with the spirit of that ad, go for it."

Barack Obama's SOTUs Have All Been Written At An 8th Grade Level
Now this is interesting: According to the Flesch-Kincaid readability test, Barack Obama's State of the Union Address last night was written at an 8th grade level. In fact, none of his 3 SOTU speeches have reached a 9th grade level.
Smart Politics (which conducted the testing), claims Obama scored the lowest average of any modern day president. Even George 'Dubya' Bush, razzed about his lack of verbal skills, ranked higher than Obama, his dad George H.W., Clinton and Reagan.
JFK, Eisenhower and Nixon scored highest, with Kennedy at a 12th grade level, Dwight Eisenhower at 11.9, and Richard Nixon at 11.5.
He said his message was simple. So simple I slept through part of it. But, as per usual, there were overblown promises that he can't and will never keep.
You can view the charts here.

Longer sentences and sentences utilizing words with more syllables produce higher scores. Shorter sentences and sentences incorporating more monosyllabic words yield lower scores

Millionaire Obama Has Nothing In Common With The 99% Who Still Adore Him

The individual that photoshopped these two pictures together clearly wanted to make everyone think that Romney is completely out of touch with the people compared to Obama. After all, here's millionaire Mitt Romney getting his shoes shined, while Barack Obama is fist-butting, or whatever that gesture is called, the common man. The problem is, that's no shoeshine man, that's a TSA agent with a security wand doing his thing.
Whether it was a deliberate act to mislead or not, it was enough to cause a maelstrom of anger directed towards not just Romney but the entire Republican lot. Even when one liberal 'friend' posted that he did not approve of the misleading propaganda, one piped in saying it was fair play because of Republican "lies." Referencing some programme she saw, another launched into a long diatribe about the Republican candidates' "mansions" and how she believes Obama has her best interests at heart. She believes he simply wants to put the country back on the right track- including cutting the debt. She went on to say that she believed the right wing wealthy candidates have nothing in common with her or the majority of the country.
Talk about out of touch, both my 'friend' and Obama. My friend is as out of touch because of her woeful, willful ignorance. Obama, on the other hand is just out of touch because he is who he is. First of all, he's an elitist and a millionaire, to boot. People talk about Obama as though he's one of them, when he's not. He's one of the so-called "1%" along with all the Republicans everyone loves to lambaste:
In 2010 Gingrich paid 31.7% tax on $3,142,066 adjusted gross income, while Obama only paid 26.3% on $1,728,096. Newt Gingrich has a net worth of 7 million, on the other hand Obama has a net worth of 10.5 million. And it's not like Obama lived in a nice, modest home when he was a Chicago senator. In 2005 he purchased a home for over 1.5 million dollars, although it's not worth as much due to the housing crash. Obama also takes $4 million vacations, and his wife has a penchant for expensive designer clothes, as frightfully ugly as they might be.
Obama has absolutely nothing in common with my 'friend' or the other 99% who still adore him.

Who Should I Vote For President In 2012
So far, the race for GOP nomination is wide open. At this point in time it's too hard to predict who will get the nod with Santorum winning by a very slim margin the Iowa caucuses, Romney handily winning in New Hampshire and Gingrich's slam dunk in South Carolina. I'm still not sure who I will vote for, but it's a toss up between Gingrich and Romney.
For those who are still stumped as to who to vote for in the upcoming elections (the next is Florida on January 31st), I posted several quizzes to help you decide.
Now ABC News has created their own Match-O-Matic quiz that includes a list of candidate statements on everything from the economy to global warming to abortion. All the candidates including Barack Obama and some who have already dropped out are represented, although not all categories include every candidate's statement. From 10 categories you get to pick which statement best represents your views on the subject matter.
You just might be surprised. I know I was.
UPDATE: May 2012
Here's another quiz with all the current candidates, including some third party and independents.

Buh-bye Barney- Frank Won't Seek Reelection In 2012
Well, well, Barney Frank is finally hanging up the proverbial hat and will not be running again in 2012. Of course, as he put it, it had more to do with redistricting than a desire to retire to some Florida beach town.
After 30 years, it's good riddance. Though few want to admit it, Barney Frank and the Democrats were pretty much responsible for the failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which was a major factor in our economic downturn. Though some Republicans were responsible, it was mostly Democrats who stymied efforts to regulate Fannie and Freddie. This video proves that.
And then we have Barney, in his own words, caught lying<a href=" http:="http:" v="2UZ9l_AxKjA&feature=related" watch="watch" www.youtube.com="www.youtube.com"> here.
Buh-bye Bawney.
