Gender Neutral Person Sues Company $518,682 Over Use Of Pronouns

And another one for the frivolous law suit file, this time from Portland, Oregon.

Valeria Jones- a person who does not identify as either male or female- wants $518,682 in damages from the catering company she worked for because co-workers kept using female nouns and pronouns to address her. She's suing Bon Appétit Management $500,000.00 for "pronoun pain and humiliation", and $18,682.00 for lost wages and benefits. There is no mention in the lawsuit what she actually wanted to be called other than the very vague "gender neutral pronouns." Apparently she looked like a woman, and Valeria sounds like a female name to me, but she took umbrage with being called "lady" and "miss." Would she have preferred "hey you" or "it." And if she truly has no connection with either gender, perhaps she should have dressed in a gender neutral manner, and changed her name to a gender neutral one. How about Beverly, Jordan, Jean?

Jones eventually quit after starting her job in March 2013.

Aussie Imam Charged With Marrying 12-Year-Old Girl To 26-Year-Old Man

26-year-old Lebanese Muslim guy moves to Australia in 2013 on a student visa, hooks up with a 12-year-old girl (also Muslim, I assume), and eventually moves to Sydney with the pre-pubescent in tow. In spite of the fact that pre-marital sex is forbidden in Islam, they apparently were doing the deed, and were eventually married by a Pakistan-born imam in early 2014. Since you have to be 18 to get married in Australia, and since Lebanese guy was having sex with a 12-year-old, they're both in a tad bit of trouble. Imam has been charged with "solemnization of a marriage by an unauthorized person." And pedophile hubby is facing "25 counts of sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14 years" and is currently sitting in jail awaiting his day in court. The imam received conditional bail and will face the music on April 2nd.

For some reason the parents of the girl have yet to be charged, although they should be.

To Solve Traffic Problems In Dubai Poor People Could Be Banned From Owning Cars

Too much traffic? Too many cars on the road? Dubai is contemplating a novel way of solving that problem- increase cost of gasoline, parking fees, insurance, and, here's the kicker, limiting car ownership to those making over a certain amount of money. In other words, only the rich will wind up being allowed to drive those fancy gold Lamborghinis on the roads of Dubai, if the director general of Dubai Municipality, Hussain Lootah, has his way.

“Everybody has their luxury life,” said Hussain Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality. “but the capacity of our roads cannot take all of these cars without ownership laws.”

A salary limit scheme that would restrict car ownership to those earning above a certain monthly income is one of several options that could be considered.

“We should increase parking fees, increase fuel costs, insurance prices,” he said. “It costs Dh30 [in Germany] to park for half an hour — Dh1 per hour in Dubai.”

Carpooling?  No way.

“There are more than 200 nationalities in Dubai,” he said. “I can’t see [education and awareness] having an effect, and soft [regulations] don’t work any more. Even in Europe and America it doesn’t work. Unless you go hard, no one will obey.”

Suicide Bombing Trainer Kills Students- By Accident In Iraq

More than twenty one would-be-suicide bombers and terrorists from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria had an early date with "death" when the suicide vest their teacher was using to demonstrate its use forgot to make sure there was no live ammunition. So, boom, and bye-bye. They were being instructed on how to make car bombs somewhere outside of Baghdad. About 22 were arrested, 12 of whom were wounded and 10 who were captured as they tried to escape.

Ah, poetic justice and karma rolled into one.

Atlanta ChemTrail Snow Conspiracy Debunked

I missed this one, but the conspiracy-theory crackpots came out en-masse claiming that the massive snow storm that hit Atlanta recently was a result of chemtrails because the snow balls they tried to melt with a butane wouldn't melt. There are a bunch of those videos on YouTube.

However, Canada's Sun News has debunked that theory in the following video:






Even one of those chemtrail conspiracy theorists has done the same thing.

Reporters Tweet About The Horrific Hotel Conditions In Sochi, Russia

While Sochi, Russia is ramping up for the 2014 Winter Olympics, it's still dealing with mega problems of the preparation kind.

Aside from the terrorist threats, the city is just not ready for the hordes of visitors arriving, including the bevy of foreign journalists there to report on the games.  They have set Twitter afire with all sorts of horror stories about the half built accommodations: from broken elevators to broken mains (so no water for the guests), no heating (in the middle of winter), or in the case of one reporter- signs telling guests not to use the toilet for toilet paper. Yes, they have provided a bin to deposit said soiled t.p. but- ick!

Taliban Using Young Boys As Sex Slaves

Iran's PressTV is claiming that according to a report by the National Directorate of Security (NDS)- an Afghan intelligence agency- Taliban militants are hiring young boys and using them as sex slaves and for bomb attacks.

The latest revelation comes after Afghan security forces arrested several young boys during clean-up operations at militant camps in Maidan Wardak Province.

Sources say the boys have been beaten, drugged, and sexually assaulted by Taliban commanders.

Although one has to consider the source (re. the veracity of the claims), it's not uncommon for Afghan men to have sex with teenage boys. In fact they have a name for it: Bacha Bazi. So this is not outside the realm of possibility.

So, homosexuality in Islam can result in death, but pederasty is totally cool.
