German Muslim Convert Preacher Plans A Celebration For Osama Bin Laden

Idiot of the day. Or rather idiots.  Pierre Vogel aka Abu Hamza is a German Muslim convert- a former prize boxer-turned-preacher. But he didn't just convert to Islam, he turned to Salafism, the most extreme forms of Islam.

Role of women in society?  Not his concern, after all his wife wears a niqab.

In the Spiegel video below we see that 1,100 or so mostly male Islamists have followed him to Hamburg where his goal is to convert infidels, and he manages to do quite well at it. We get to see some fool of a woman convert, and the reporters talk with a newly converted young male. When asked if he finds the teachings of vogel to be compatible with democracy, someone in the background tells him not to answer, and the kid walks away. As the reporter asks if he's not allowed to respond, two aggressive Islamists pipe in with "he is allowed, but doesn't have to."

Reporter: "You have just sent him away."
Islamist: "We don't force him."

It's quite obvious they had.

When asked what will happen to those who change their mind about converting.

"The punishment, if one dies as a non-Muslim, is: one goes to hell."

Even though Vogel publicly rejects violence and terror, claiming to be a 'peace activist', the dude is planning a remembrance celebration for Osama Bin Laden.

Pakistan Doctor Who Helped Capture Bin Laden Sentenced To 33 Years UPDATE:

If there was any doubt that Pakistan knew about and harbored Osama Bin Laden for all those years in Abbottabad, set those doubts aside, because it's quite obvious they sympathized with one of the world's most infamous terrorists. They've always shown anger and disapproval over the killing of Bin Laden, and now they've sentenced Shakil Afridi, the doctor who was instrumental in capturing Bin Laden, to 33 years in jail for high treason. A man who should have been honored for helping rid the world of an incredibly evil man is instead being severely punished.

According to a Pakistani official, Nasir Khan, he has also been fined around $3,500, and if he doesn't pay up 3 1/2 years will be added to his sentence.

The U.S., of course, has asked for his release, and the State Department's Victoria Nuland said of the situation,

“Our views on it haven’t changed. We continue to see no basis for Dr. Afridi to be held,” Nuland said. “We will continue to make those representations to the government of Pakistan.”

When asked why she only referred to Afridi’s charges and did not acknowledge his actual conviction and sentencing, Nuland said: “It’s not clear that the legal process is over, OK? There may be other options for him legally.”

Since Afridi was charged with treason last year, the U.S. has been trying to get Pakistan to allow the good doctor and his family to come to the states, obviously to no avail. John McCain-R and Carl Levin-D of the Senate Ared Services Committee both have called the sentence "shocking and outrageous" and want him pardoned and released immediately.

“Dr. Afridi’s continuing imprisonment and treatment as a criminal will only do further harm to U.S.-Pakistani relations, including diminishing Congress’s willingness to provide financial assistance to Pakistan,” they warned.

Not that Pakistan cares. They've been pulling the proverbial fleece over our eyes for years, pretending to be allies when they're really not. They're no better than the terrorists they seem to aid and abet.

UPDATE: 5/31/12  Now Pakistan is claiming it had nothing to do with his CIA affiliation, but rather his alleged ties to militants.  Like that's believable.

Veterans Slam Obama For Politicizing Bin Laden Kill

More backlash from Obama's "One Chance" campaign ad video where he insinuates Mitt Romney would not have taken out Osama Bin Laden had he been president. Arianna Huffington called it despicable. Dan Turner of the L.A. Times says the ad is "more than little distasteful" for taking Romney's comment "It's not worth moving heaven and Earth and spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person" out of context. But veterans, and even former and active duty U.S. Navy SEALS (the ones who were responsible for dispensing with Bin Laden), have also chimed in criticizing Obama for politicizing the whole event.
A serving SEAL Team member said: ‘Obama wasn’t in the field, at risk, carrying a gun. As president, at every turn he should be thanking the guys who put their lives on the line to do this. He does so in his official speeches because he speechwriters are smart.

‘But the more he tries to take the credit for it, the more the ground operators are saying, “Come on, man!” It really didn’t matter who was president. At the end of the day, they were going to go.’

Chris Kyle, a former SEAL sniper with 160 confirmed and another 95 unconfirmed kills to his credit, said: ‘The operation itself was great and the nation felt immense pride. It was great that we did it.

‘But bin Laden was just a figurehead. The war on terror continues. Taking him out didn’t really change anything as far as the war on terror is concerned and using it as a political attack is a cheap shot.

‘In years to come there is going to be information that will come out that Obama was not the man who made the call. He can say he did and the people who really know what happened are inside the Pentagon, are in the military and the military isn’t allowed to speak out against the commander- in-chief so his secret is safe.’

As some have said, including Romney, presented with the same opportunity any president would have done exactly what Obama did, he just lucked out that it happened on his watch.

In response, Veterans For A Strong America have taken out their own powerful ad entitled "CREDIT".

Obama's Bin Laden Ad "Despicable" Says HuffPo's Arianna Huffington

Since the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden is the only real major accomplishment of Barack Obama's 3 plus year's in office, it's obvious he would try to capitalize on that achievement. Had he been smart, he would have simply bragged about dispensing with the most wanted man on earth during his tenure in his campaign ads. But no, he had to copy Hillary Clinton's  3 a.m. phone call ad, which obviously did her no good.
He obviously misjudged how people would react to his Bin Laden ad (his version of  the "3 a.m. call"), which calls into question whether Mitt Romney would have had the cojones to order the raid.  And when queen of the liberal blogosphere Arianna Huffington, of the Huffington Post, calls it "despicable", you know he made a huge mistake.
Appearing on CBS News, Arianna Huffington said there should not be an ad questioning whether presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney would’ve ordered the raid against the Al-Qaeda leader last year.
“I don’t think there should be an ad about that,” Huffington told CBS News. “I think it’s one thing to celebrate the fact that they did such a great job (with television specials). All that is perfectly legitimate. But to turn it into a campaign ad is one of the most despicable things you can do.”
The new web video questions whether Romney would have taken the same path Obama did. It features a quote from a 2007 Romney interview in which he said it was not worth “moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.”

“(The ad) quotes a snippet from Romney and uses that to imply that Romney would not has been as decisive,” Huffington told CBS News. “There’s no way to know whether Romney would have been as decisive. To actually speculate that he wouldn’t be is, to me, not the way to run a campaign, on either side.”
Not that we can assume this means Romney has Huffington's vote. I sincerely doubt it, but it's interesting she bothered to criticize Obama for that misstep.
Romney's camp obviously chimed in as well calling the video divisive:
“It’s now sad to see the Obama campaign seek to use an event that unified our country to once again divide us, in order to distract voters’ attention from the failures of his administration,” Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said.
Jay Carney (White House spokesman) naturally defended their tactic:
“I think the way that we’ve handled it represents exactly the balance you need to strike.”
Of course, this won't make any difference to those who still adore the president, and there are many who still do.

Pakistan's Malik Claims Government Had No Clue About Bin Laden's Presence

Pakistan continues to claim the government had no clue Osama Bin Laden was holed up in his large compound in Abbottabad, a mere 75 miles from Islamabad and a very short distance from the Pakistan Military Academy, for over five years.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik appeared on Wednesday before the Abbottabad Inquiry Commission and claimed that at no stage was the government aware of Osama bin Laden’s presence in Pakistan, an insider told Dawn.

The commission is investigating the US commando raid in Abbottabad on May 2 last year which left Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden dead.

The minister gave a detailed briefing to the commission, which lasted six hours, about the internal security system, country’s visa policy and presence of illegal immigrants in the country.

[snip] During the briefing, the minister admitted the failure of civil intelligence agencies in tracking down the Al Qaeda founder.

However, it was for the first time that a government official told the Abbottabad Commission that the government was unaware of Osama bin Laden’s presence in the country.
It seems highly unlikely that authorities weren't somehow aware of his presence after all those years. Surely someone would have questioned the need for 18 ft high fortified walls with two security gates surrounding a compound that was much larger than other houses in the area.  But what else can they say. And they will keep denying that there are elements in the government and their intelligence service (ISI) that are aiding and abetting the Taliban.  But it would be well-nigh impossible to purge those who  have sympathies with the extremists, so nothing much will change in that region.

Pakistan Doctor Who Helped CIA Find Bin Laden Charged With Treason

Instead of being hailed as a hero, the Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA in its hunt to kill Osama Bin Laden will be  charged with 'high treason'.  So says a government commission assigned to investigate the U.S. operation that ultimately killed Bin Laden. Dr. Shakil Afridi, who set up a vaccination programme that was tasked with trying to get DNA samples from Bin Laden family members, could face the death penalty for ridding the world of the most wanted man on the planet. But it's quite obvious the Pakistanis see things quite differently.

I'm sure a lot of the anger has to do with the fact that the Bin Laden raid was a covert operation that took the Pakistanis by surprise, and the panel was more than likely set up to save face for their monumental ineptitude.  But had the government been apprised of the situation, Bin Laden would probably still be alive somewhere today.  Pakistan's spy agency- Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has oft been accused of supporting the Taliban's Haqqani Network, and I would venture to say it was well aware of Bin Laden's residency in Abbottabad. His fortified mansion was smack dab in the middle of a military town, and approximately 75 from Islamabad, the capital. And yet he lived there for five years!  How could they not have known?  We finally caught up with him after ten long years,  but rest assured  it took that long to find him because the Pakistanis wanted it that way.

Thankfully there are some, like the good doctor, willing to put their lives on the line to rid the world of terrorism.  But most Pakistanis are perfectly content to live alongside the violence, embracing their backwards Sharia law and their Blasphemy law, and taking steps back into the dark ages alongside their Afghan brothers.

They are not our friends, and yet we continue to send them aid, and that's not likely to change any time soon.

Who knows what will happen to Afridi and his family. The U.S. has been attempting to pressure the Pakistanis into letting them come to the U.S. but,  so far, they'd rather charge him with treason.

Jihad A Family Affair- Wife of al Qaida's #2 Henchman Calls On Women To Join Jihad

How heart-warming, Jihad is becoming a family affair. Al Qaida has been recruiting men and their male children, and now their wives are being called into action by none other than the wife of Osama Bin Laden's number 2 henchman, Ayman al-Zawahiri. So now, instead of being asked to stand by their men by giving birth to and raising Jihadi babies and donating money, the women are being asked to join in the fun. Although unverified, Umaima Hassan posted her message on the internet- apparently the first time an al Qaida wife has encouraged others to fight and/or blow themselves up- telling women it was an "obligation" to fight. She did add that it would challenging since

"Fighting is not easy for women, because she needs a male guardian at her side."

I guess making it a family project would deal with that issue quite well.

NBC News counterterrorism analyst, Evan Kohlmann, said Umaima

wrote specifically of "martyrdom" and "how many sisters carried out a martyrdom operation in Palestine, Iraq and Chechnya, and caused the enemy high costs and caused the enemy a big defeat. We ask from Allah to accept them and connect us with them with goodness."

Kohlmann seems to think there might be a shortage of jihadi fighting machines, hence the call for female participation. My question is, if women go off to fight, who is going to raise the next generation of jihadis? Not that I care. Maybe Umaima and the whole family (along with all her friends and relatives) will strap on bombs and get blown up together. That would solve the al Qaida problem quite nicely.

"Umaima? Yo Mama!"
