Salamishah Tillet is an associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania. An educated woman, obviously. And yet, Salamishah seems to think that Republican opposition to late term abortions is simply a desire to foster white supremacy, because whites are running scared. Yep. That's what she said on MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry show in response to the proposed ban on late-term abortions.
“I think that there’s a kind-of moral panic, a fear of the end of whiteness that we’ve been seeing for a long time, and Obama’s ascension as president symbolizes that to a certain degree."
“I think this is one response to that sense that there’s a decreasing white majority in the country, and that women’s bodies – and white women’s bodies in particular – are obviously a crucial way of reproducing whiteness: white supremacy, white privilege.”Huh?
If that were the case, if racist whites truly wanted to level the playing field, would they not promote abortion rather than ban it, considering blacks are more likely to get an abortion? According to the CDC, in 2009, for every 1,000 births white women had 138 abortions, compared to 501 for black women. That's why many think that abortion is a form of black genocide. But the convicted abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, who butchered the late term fetuses of patients who were primarily poor minorities and immigrants, was himself African-American.
So which is it, Salamishah? Genocide or white supremacy? It can't be both.
And these fools are teaching our kids.
