Update: Gunshot Residue Found On Parents Of Slain Georgia Baby Antonio Santiago

Everyone  was outraged when 13-month-old Antonio Santiago was allegedly shot dead in Brunswick, Georgia by two black teens after an attempted robbery. The mother, Sherry West, claimed that the two black teens, De'Marquise Elkins and Dominique Lang, shot her in the leg and her son in the face after she told them she had no money, but is that really what happened? Some evidence that has recently been released points to the possibility of a totally different, and very troubling, scenario.

First of all, after West blamed two black teens for the murder of her baby boy, her 21-year-old daughter came forward with suspicions that her mother could actually have been the one responsible for the infant's death.

Ashley Glassey told CBS News in March, that her mother has serious mental health issues. These include a diagnosis of bi-polar with accompanying schizophrenic tendencies. West also talked with the media about how she was removed from her mother’s care at the age of 8, because of abuse and neglect in the home. Immediately after the shooting, Glassey said West began asking questions about how long it would take her to collect the insurance money. West’s daughter also told both media and police that her mother made conflicting statements to her, regarding the child’s death - including different stories about who was shot first. West’s inconsistencies and suspicious behavior caused her own daughter to tell police and reporters that she suspected her mother was not telling the truth about how the infant was killed. CBS News reported several days later that police had not followed up with Glassey, nor had they taken her statement. A follow-up call by the press to the police, was never returned.

It has now come to light that both West and the baby's father, Louis Santiago, were found with gunshot residue on them on the day of the killing.  There could be explanations for that, but it seems highly suspect. And when you think of it, why didn't they shoot her in the head, as well?

If one or both of the parents (who are no longer together) were responsible for the child's death and not the two teens, they deserve the most severe punishment possible.

Wonder just how reliable is the comment of Sherry West's daughter, Ashley Glassey on her mother's mental health issues and her suspecions that her mother and baby's father were involved in the baby's murder? Have the parents of baby Antonio been arrested yet or is Ashley Glassey out to get revenge on her mother for giving her up when she was a child? I thought that I had read that the gun used in the baby's murder was found in a pond nearby, after a spent bullet, was recovered and the mother of one of the black boys arrested for the murder, was arrested herself for disposing of the gun? What are the actual facts in this tragedy???

We might never find out, but if it's true, some innocent boys are unjustly jailed.

Too bad so many mothers like that witch in the Carolinas who drowned her boys and blamed it on a black man. You begin to distrust everyone.
